I have just flashed this as my first successful flash and noticed that if I go into Messaging, I get Email and "Messages"

On my Vodafone rom, I used to get Email, "SMS" and "MMS"

How can I restore that functionality?

Also, I used to have a rigntone which was named something like "ringtn-Random"

How can I get that back?

Also, Quick GPS always fails to download the updates. Any ideas why?

I've had the same problems for a while now.

Its either related to Opera or an updated version of PIE (if we have one in these ROMs). I've noticed it in all of the newer ROMs I've flashed, not just NATF.

So there's no actual solution for the Weather Watcher issue? That's too bad as it's one of my most used apps, and it's not really usable as is.

Is there a reason why you provided the MusicID version you have to pay for? I know it was in the older roms because I use it all the time.

I just flashed to 4.4. One of the first things I tried was to install the FuzeBerry v7.5CFC theme but I got an insufficient permissions error. Has anyone else run into this?

Nevermind, I forgot I had to disable TF3D before installing the cab.

I'm usually the one with battery issues, but it's day number 2 and still discharging (that sounds gross) normally.

Kewl, I will put some rigor on my testing and see ....

thanks for the info. I will publish my findings if i see the impact happens to be negative.

I second this. Flash doesn't seem to work in any of the Flash-enabled websites I visited in Opera. Moreover, a white box seems to appear on the upper left corner of the screen on webpages with Flash content. The box stays in the same position no matter where I scroll the page. Also, this white box doesn't show at all on normal pages.

Confirmed here too, a white box in the upper left corner.
Strange behavior. Tapping the white box once makes Opera comes out of FullScreen mode and the white box disappears. Now drag the website around and opera returns to fullscreen with no white box. Release the page after dragging it and the box comes back.

Very minor bug: go to Settings->System->Long Key Press. The options appear to be chopped off at the bottom.

Also, unable to remove the Sliding Dialer. Turned on flight mode, rebooted, but when attempting to remove the dialer, everything hangs.

And one more issue. Kept the phone in flight mode for 20 minutes or so, and the battery indicator went from 100% to 20%.

I'm on 4.3 right now and I want to backup my programs and my bluetooth/activesync connections but when I restore my settings through spb backup, it seems to write over the changes that the new ROM has and restore things exactly to how they were before the rom upgrade. Is this always going to happen if I do a full restore? If I do a partial restore, which parts should I not restore to get all of the ROM changes? Would prefer not to sit around installing cabs all day after the flash.

I installed 4.4 (coming from 4.3) and hard reset. I installed programs and soft reset several times with no issues. Then (this is the only thing I see as different) I entered login information into account manager for Facebook last night. This morning I could not access Contacts (all people) from the tab in TF3D, so I soft reset. Upon doing that, instead of "Loading" TF3D it said Tap to Load. Upon tapping it went into a loop and would never start.

I am trying everything now from another hard reset, except the login, to try to recreate the issue.... nothing so far.

Brian
This sounds like your pim.vol file went bad.

Hi NATF,
I just wanted to confirm what others have reported. I have a Touch pro T7272 (UK). When I place your image in the root directory of my SD card and reboot in to hardSPL, it shows up OK, starts the flashing process and gets stuck at around 70% or so (can't tell because there are no numeric accurate figures in the progress bar). I tried a hard-reset and flashing again but still no success.
Eventually, I placed my SD card in to my laptop and placed the HTC new release (5.05) and all was well.
It's easy to reproduce if you need more info.

I have not tried from a PC,USB connection yet.
Other then that, I've been looking forward to this release
So I hope we can figure this out. :)

Cheers,
-Dave

Backup your SD card, and then format is as FAT32.

I'm also having issues using Internet Sharing. It won't connect to the network. Was not an issue in 4.3 for me. Otherwise network connects fine (can use Opera, Weather, IE, etc.) Not sure if anything changed.

Update: Nevermind. It apparently only works when you're already connected to the network. It can't connect to it on it's own. Never knew that.

Internet Sharing works fine. However, it defaults to AT&T ISP GPRS, which requires tethering. If you allow it to fail, then select MEdia Net, and then try again, it will work every time going forward.

Ok thanks. I actually installed the Restore_curtains CAB that NATF supplies and it got rid of the issue for me. Cleaned it up nice.

I was just going to suggest this to you, along with an explanation. Nice to see you found it first.

Nat,

Great work... I love the speed of the 4.4 ROM. One problem though, I am the one person that uses AT&T PTT. I did as Post 4 says to install the AT&T dialer but PTT still doesn't work. The last version that worked was 4.2. Can you think of anything else I can try or what is causing PTT to not work?

Thanks again for your efforts.

PTT functionality is removed from the ROM; even with the AT&T dialer. Once I get home tonight, I'll whip up a new CAB with the other required files, and you can test it for me... since I don't use PTT.

Doh! They're in ROM. I should have known that.

I didnt check the changelog. It turns out I could switch back to the Today screen by pressing the Windows key and let it process in the background. It eventually uninstalled, go figure.

Hum, now my battery icon does not have the % displayed, nor does it change when I plug in the charger

When you loaded the new dialer, it replaced the DLL file with the % icon. Download and install the battery icon CAB I posted in #4.

I have just flashed this as my first successful flash and noticed that if I go into Messaging, I get Email and "Messages"

On my Vodafone rom, I used to get Email, "SMS" and "MMS"

Also, I used to have a rigntone which was named something like "ringtn-Random"

Also, Quick GPS always fails to download the updates. Any ideas why?

In my ROMs, SMS/MMS are merged. Vodafone was probably using a custom Manila build that added one-touch MMS.

QuickGPS is working fine for me.

I'm not getting charged for it. Are you?

I didnt replace the dialer with another, only removed it (I'm deaf and dont have a voiceplan.) I ended up reinstalling FInixNOverBattery.cab, it's all good.

One of these days I will look at your kitchen and build up a special version for me and other deaf people. No phone.exe, no dialer, no ringtones, no .mid, .wav, .mp3, etc. Nothing phone related but all Text/Email/Web. Remap the volume buttons too. It'll be a $300 2-way pager! :)

Thanks for the font fix cab and the explanation of the SMS/MMS issue.

I still cannot get Quick GPS to work. It just says "Connection failed. Please try again later"

I have an acive wifi connection and have also tried with an active GPRS connection and still no luck

Can someone confirm what settings I should have in GPS Settings.

My settings are currently:

GPS Program Port: Com 4
GPS Hardware Port: (None)
Baud Rate: 4800

Are those correct or not?

Thanks

I have no issues whatsoever to report. I could care less about words being cut off by less than half a millimeter. Iam somewhat of a power user and everything is running much more smoothly than 4.3 and am glad to see weather master fixed. Finally i really like the font size of the menus, im not old so i can see everything just fine. THANKS A MILLION NATF!!:D GREAT JOB!!

Anecdotally, I am seeing the battery life not as good compared to 4.3. Has anybody else seeing any difference. Again , this is anecdotal. I have not gather logs and not done methodically process of determining if it is.

I had short battery life with 4.3 but thought it was due to some glitch from installing tons of apps and combining that with G-Profile which seemed to make my wi-fi stay on while the phone was on suspend. With 4.2 I remember the batter only dropping about two percent overnight. This time it dropped around twenty percent within around 6 hours and obviously no usage. Not sure what may be causing this. I'm on the stock radio.

Edit: On 4.4 Now

It's not so much that I can't watch YouTube on Opera. We've got the dedicated YouTube app for that. It's just that *all* flash content doesn't seem to work at all, whether it's video or not.

I'll look around and do some tinkering of my own. Hopefully I can find out what needs to be done to enable Flash.

Hello NATF:

I am a first timer. I have the Fuze for couple of weeks, previously I had a Tilt. I was quite nervous to flash it with a cooked ROM for the first time, last night luckily was I able to flash it with v4.4 ROM and installed the latest radio available (HTC Ver. 1.11.25.01) for Fuze.

Thank you much for sharing the good work and thanks to mskip for his instructions. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448008).

After installation here are my findings compared to my previous Stock ROM.
(1) There was around 100MB memory gain compared to Stock ROM.
(2) Opera was much faster compared to the previous version.
(3) Whole lots of good stuff which are new to me.
(4) Performance improvement with You Tube.
(5) Performance improvement with Black Berry Connect:cool:
(6) Battery ran for 6 to 7 hours with Bluetooth and Black Berry Connect ON.:)

These are the five minor issues I noticed, I am not sure if some of them are already there in the Stock ROM and any help is appreciated.

(1) Sling player does not work on Edge network, but woks on Wi-Fi.

(2) Skype initial did not work, later it started working again few soft resets. But I am not able use the Bluetooth (Jawbone) headset with it. Please note that only “Hands Free” service is listed under Bluetooth services for my Jawbone. However if I try my Jabra BT620 stereo headset the Bluetooth services shows the additional service called “Wireless Stereo” and this headset works fine with the Skype.

After doing some research I have tried changing the Bit pool to Very High for Bluetooth radio settings using Advanced Config tool. After doing this change even did not help, so I change it back to Low. Please help!

(3) I could not figure out how to find a contact by name when dial pad is open. I had to scroll all the way to find the contact. And the “Video Call” button which functions different than the usual “Call” button. It prompts with a message box since I my town is on EDGE network. May be its known issue. Is there any work around to get the typical Call button back?

(4) Sometimes Wi-Fi radio acts little wearied, but it fixes itself after a soft reset.

(5) New email notification is not happening like in my Tilt phone. This might be a settings issue, but sure where to set it.:o

1,2: Can't help. I don't use either. But other people have reported Sling Player to work fine.

3: When in the dialer screen, as you start entering the number, your contact list will be trimmed to the matching names. Also, if you scroll down while in the dialer, your contacts will show up after passing your call history.

4: I use Wi-Fi very rarely... but it seems to work OK for me.

5: If you are using TouchFLO 3D, pop-up notifications are disabled because of the dedicated Email tab that places a number of unread messages over the icon, and it also places an envelope icon in the top bar.

Just tried 4.4, and am having a couple of issues with Manila:

1. I've had one instance where it hasn't started, and I had to "Touch here to start TouchFlo 3D"

2. The icon strip at the bottom seems to have a transparent background, so things like "Programs" seem to show through if you scroll of them. Is there a fix for that?

First off, NATF thank you for another great rom.

I put this cab together to enable Sports and Burst mode in the camera. It also changes the panoramic mode settings to get higher resolution pictures out of it. I am going to try to get sports and burst mode with higher resolutions but have to find their limit so this cab just enables them. I will test out different settings and probably post a new cab with the new settings. Like all cabs that change registry values, a soft reset is recommended after install.

Here are the changes it makes:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\P3\MainCamCaptSize from 64 to 1024
HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\P3\MainCamSupportCaptSize from 80 to 1744
HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\P6\Enable from 0 to 1 (Enables Burst Mode)
HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\P8\Enable from 0 to 1 (Enables Sports Mode)

Edit: Just noticed I didn't lock the install location. Please select to install on device. I will fix this on the next cab with the new sports and burst settings.

Ahhh! Enable, not Enabled! That's why the settings weren't cooking in. Thanks, I'll be sure to fix this.

Hey NATF got a question for you, i was scouring the Development and Hacking section and i came across this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347882

Apparently if a touch pro has the htc/Rogers rilphone.dll cooked in to the rom then install the two cabs in post #292 it will display the name then the number of whoever is calling you even if they aren't in your contacts.

example:
w/o rogers rilphone.dll + cabs
1-555-555-5555
w/ rogers rilphone.dll + cabs
john doe 1-555-555-5555

i think this would be an awesome addition to your rom! Da_G and trueg have more info on it, i just was skimming through it and thought it would be cool!
thanks again for all your hard work i will be putting flashing v4.4 after work!

I can't seem to get PIE 6 to navigate anywhere. I get an "Action Cancelled" page, and a popup saying that there's something wrong with the connection settings. Opera/EMail work fine, so I'm happy the connection is fine. It does this if it's connected via ActiveSync, or not - any ideas?

Cheers,

Steve.

try disabling your data connection in Comm Manager then re-enable it. that has always fixed it for me in previous versions, havent done it in 4.4 yet. hey NATF any idea why this is happening? i have had this problem everytime, doesnt really bother me cause it is a quick fix.

Advanced Config is independent of the rom, its a tool that can be used for all HTC phones in general

If you want the curtain you can download the cab on the first page.

Dont forget to follow the intructions to change dialers: A) Turn on Flight Mode B) Soft Reset C) Uninstall Dialer D) Soft Reset E) Install New Dialer F) Soft Reset G) Turn off Flight Mode

Thanks

Regards,

Yep, those GPS settings are correct, but I don't think they have anything to do with QuickGPS.

v4.4 doesn't have the calendar tab in TF3D like v4.3 did, so you must have installed another version of TF3D.

Do I have to change something in settings after the install?

The Restore Curtains CAB has nothing to do with the dialer curtain. That is a separate CAB installer.

Anecdotally, I am seeing the battery life not as good compared to 4.3. Has anybody else seeing any difference. Again , this is anecdotal. I have not gather logs and not done methodically process of determining if it is.

I have used the internet for about 20 minutes today after being fully charged. It has been on battery for about 4.5 hours and is down to 82% charge. I also reflashed my radio (1.11.25.01) after installing v4.4. I doubt that the radio is behind this, since I never had any battery drain issues in the v3 NATF roms or even in 4.3 with S2U2 installed (using 4.4 sans S2U2). So anecdotally speaking, I guess I'm in the same boat as you.

Thanks for all the time you have put into these roms, NotATreoFan.

I have downloaded NATF v4.4 and am about to upgrade to that ROM. I have also downloaded HARDSPL v7.

I just wanted to make sure I got the process right, since I couldn't find a single document that detailed the entire installation process from start to finish...

But the way I understand it, I am going to run the .exe that came with HARDSPL (to modify the boot loader)...and then after that is complete, I am going to be running the .exe that comes with the NATF v.4.4.

Can I run them from the PC once the device is connected via USB cables, or do I need to do anything else (like copy to a folder on the device itself, or make sure the phone is in ACTIVESYNC or DISK DRIVE mode first?)

Also, I have downloaded the original AT&T rom that my device had pre-loaded...if I were to need to revert back to factory settings, can I just run the .exe that is included with the factory ROM, or does that only change the OS itself and require me to go and remove the HARDSPL bootloader separately? (in case I were to have to send it in for warranty work or anything).

I have backed up everything on my device - my contacts, photos, videos, etc. I just wanted to make sure I understood the entire flash process for these phones before I did the flash... so any help, tips, or anything else I need to know before hand is greatly appreciated.

I know that at some point I need to perform a hard reset - but wasn't sure exactly at which step. Does the installation of the ROM indicate when I need to do a hard reset?

I looked in the forums but did not see the entire installation process listed in a single post, but if such a page or post exists (rather than a link to the forum location that has HUNDREDS of pages of replies), I would love to have a link to it. Maybe many of my answers will be listed in there.

For anyone that installs the HD Contacts TF3D cab, BEFORE you install it can you access your /Windows/ directory and see how long it takes to populate, then AFTER you install the cab and soft reset see how long it takes?

Not sure if it was just FuzeBerry or not, but after installing that, access to my /Windows/ directory almost tripled in time, which in turn seemed to slow down lots of things.

I put it through the tests today with v4.4, wifi, edge, even roaming on a different network, and (fortunately, at least for me), could not get it to NOT work. It just works perfectly (maybe all that clean livin' hehe). I can't think of anything to help anyone that might have trouble that I haven't covered a few pages back....except that I'm using SlingPlayer Mobile 1.5.

Here's 2 new CABs for your installation pleasure.

AT&T PhoneCanvas Dialer w/ Video Share and PTT (http://rapidshare.com/files/203047401/NATF_ATT_PhoneCanvas__PTT_.cab)
TF3D with HD Contacts and Call History tabs (http://rapidshare.com/files/203042647/NATF_Manila_HD_Contacts__CFC_.cab) (found in v4.3)

I don't subscribe to PTT, so I cannot test the CAB file. However, if it doesn't work (because PTTMod interferes,) let me know and I will cook up a new ROM with PTTMod removed. :)

Thanks so much for this :D, Natf, you are awesome ;)

I just upgraded successfully to NATF v4.4...

One thing I notice (or actually, don't notice) after the update, and I could find no mention of it in the posts I tried searching in, where are the icons to logon to the AIM / YAHOO networks? I see the icon for the MSN Messenger one (I don't use that, so not sure if its the same as the one it had before) but I do logon to AIM / YAHOO, and I don't see the icons for that. I know I can install a 3rd party IM client, but those use data rather than txt and I prefer the original built in ones. Were those removed as part of the update to v4.4, or are they hidden in there somewhere?

If they are not part of the update, can I download CAB's for them separately?

Thanks!

-----

*update* - a few posts later, I realized that the IM client I was looking for was called the OZ IM client, and I found the addon from the main page of NATF's ROM, and after installing it I realize that it is what I was looking for! I just didn't realize it was called the OZ IM... :)

Thanks!

Hmmm... I hard reset fairly often, so I never get more then 2 or 3 uses out of it.

Looks like on MusicID you only get a few uses out of it then you have to pay for a subscription. I have done this 3 times in a row on hard resets to make sure. I know in one of the older ROMs this was not a problem. I think it was anything before 4.2 but not to sure. Could you please try to get this fixed in your next ROM?

Thanks NATF for you work!

For me, opera was no longer the default browser when opening a link from an email, so I changed the default browser key:

HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell/Rai/: DEFBROWSER/1 to operal.exe instead of MSPIE.

Then soft reset. :D

Thanks for the tip! Having IE open up was really annoying me. I ended up having to make a slightly different reg entry:

"\Windows\OperaL.exe"

Also, to make sure the scroll wheel is supported, set:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\: DEFBROWSER\3 to 1 (decimal).

Hey NATF got a question for you, i was scouring the Development and Hacking section and i came across this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347882

Apparently if a touch pro has the htc/Rogers rilphone.dll cooked in to the rom then install the two cabs in post #292 it will display the name then the number of whoever is calling you even if they aren't in your contacts.

example:
w/o rogers rilphone.dll + cabs
1-555-555-5555
w/ rogers rilphone.dll + cabs
john doe 1-555-555-5555

i think this would be an awesome addition to your rom! Da_G and trueg have more info on it, i just was skimming through it and thought it would be cool!
thanks again for all your hard work i will be putting flashing v4.4 after work!

yeah if it works that would be awesome! i rarely ever answer calls i get where i dont know the person/number calling, and this would give you a heads up so you dont really have to screen your calls as much :D

alright so i tried some of the techniques they had on the thread to get it to work and so far no luck :(
i tried the two cabs i talked about in my earlier post and i tried doing it manually, neither worked. the only three reasons i can think of that would make it not work are either the dll needs to be cooked into the rom (which i haven't taken the time to learn yet) or the ROM (v4.4s) doesn't have it's nk.exe, in XIP, to disable certificate checking or finally it's something only available to the canadains, which makes me sad. if anyone else has any luck with this let me know!

This only works for people on the Rogers network, so I don't see a reason to add this functionality to my ROMs. However, nk.exe is patched in the ROM, so you can overwrite the default rilphone.dll file with the one needed for Rogers Name Display to work.

Look back a page or two. I posted the registry fix and NATF made a cab for it. Or search this thread for font fix.

Or look on the first page, NATF posted it under Bug Reports for v4.4

I should have mentioned that I had already installed the font fix cab. It did not fix the issue. Has anyone else noticed this in Messaging Options?

Can you go into the registry and make sure the correct settings are there? That sounds like the exact same problem I had until I made the registry changes (I changed them manually since the cab wasn't made yet).

On another subject, has anybody any thoughts on the IE connectivity problem?

For anyone that installs the HD Contacts TF3D cab, BEFORE you install it can you access your /Windows/ directory and see how long it takes to populate, then AFTER you install the cab and soft reset see how long it takes?

Not sure if it was just FuzeBerry or not, but after installing that, access to my /Windows/ directory almost tripled in time, which in turn seemed to slow down lots of things.

setup:
NATF 4.4
used cab from NATF for HD contacts

I was watching for this specifically; however , I did not get this. The windows dir had been a little slow (not terribly slower mind you just slower than the other dirs on device ) to open for me on any roms that i have applied. So I was only comparing if it was slower with the HD contact cab. So, no it did not appear to have negative impact when I installed the HD cab.

Other observations included: I was able to retain all the speed and performance from NATF 4.4 Rom. Launching Opera, launching other programs, switching tabs in the settings, launching text/email from the contacts tab (little icon from underneath the contact tab), loading a photo from photo album from the tf3d view all remain very responsive. This was not the case for me in 4.3.

In 4.3 it would seem not to be the same. In 4.3 for me it would "lag" or seem to recognize my response until some times 1/2 sec later on most of those things and not exhibit this all the time. While other times it would be just fine.

Lastly, it would also appear that after a soft reset the OS itself is slow until all the connections are established and plus more importantly all those activities state above are slow on the first use. As though it was some sort of "lazy cache" is in affect (or effect i cant remember which is appropriate :) ) . After the first use of those apps everything is fine and extremely responsive.

In short the cab works and I have the performance of 4.4 with the HD contact in my scenario.

that's the right format, except i only used 1 pause "p" between the phone number and the access code. 1 used to work, but i'll give 2 pp's a try.
a "pause" or "wait" codes actual timing is defined by the carrier i belive, so for at&t the pause previously was about 2 sec, and a wait was about 5 or 6. or something to that effect. which carrier are you on? i'm on at&t. just so i know if that's why yours worked.

Would it make a difference if I installed the lite version and then installed only the cabs i wanted, or would it run smoother if certain apps were cooked in? Such as TF3D?

So after updating to this rom, I've noticed that the data connection turns off after a certain amount of time being on, which is great for saving battery, but not so great when you are actually using the data connection for say, internet sharing. It will turn back on automatically, but there is that 30 second to 1 minute delay. I'm seeing I can use advance config to change this from searching this thread, but have yet to find the option in the thread or in advance config. I'm assuming it can be changed somewhere because it didn't do this stock.

Can you go into the registry and make sure the correct settings are there? That sounds like the exact same problem I had until I made the registry changes (I changed them manually since the cab wasn't made yet).

The registry setting "HKLM\System\GDI\SYSFNT\Ht = 900" was set to 800. Once I corrected it to 900 and reset, the font issue was fixed. Thanks!!

Most applications will run fine when installed from CAB instead of cooking them in.

Make sure you allow Initial Customization to run. Even in the lite versions, several critical installs take place during that time... like the dialer.

So more observations.

Setup is as follows:
4.4 rom with 4.3 manilla

All the performance is still present as stated before on my phones "cocktail" of applications, except for the using the text icon underneath contact tab. Its somewhat inconsistent. 25% of the time it takes 2-3 secs to load txt message and prefill with contact. The other 75% is withing or about 1 sec. All other TF3D tabs perform their tab's function very well e.g. photo tab-- choosing a image ...going full screen...zooming... returning from zoom and return back to photo tab. I have exercised each tab with a basic and appropriate function for that tab. Those seem to work correctly and exellent time frames . Except for the txt'ing scenario mention above.

By no means that this is a complaint, i am choosing to keep this state. It suits my needs very well. And that test case scenario above is extremely livable for me .

I hope this info is beneficial to the ppl considering using the HD contact with 4.4. Obviously i am not saying this is the results you are going to get ... but food for thought.

Ultimately great work NATF. I wish i was just as kewl to cook roms. And as soon as i get paid (next friday.. spent all my money to get my fuze :) ) I will definately donate toward the cause .. esp because it help my fuze to become more useful.

PTT will not work with v4.4 as it is now. The utility used to remap buttons, PTTMod, interferes with it because it intercepts all presses of the PTT button. I'm will cook up a version of v4.4 with PTTMod removed so that people who use PTT will be able to get it working.

Ok, I will test it later, I deleted the PTT entry in the registry on accident so I will hard reset and give it a go.

Were you using the connection constantly for all of those 4 hours? I can maintain the tethered connection for as long as I like, but the data goes in and out. Like streaming a football or basketball game. Or an realtime online application such as pokerstars. It will drop in and out, seemingly at regular intervals. Didn't happen with the stock rom, but I really don't want to go back to that if I can help it.

I'm having issues with GPS locking. Most times it won't even work until I run GPS Test, but it's fine afterwards until a couple hours pass or soft reset.

I had tried several times in the past 2 weeks to get TomTom6 working after flashing NATF v4.3 then later v4.4...no luck. Then after trying your idea of running GPS Test first...TomTom6 actaully found the satelites in several seconds. I can finally use TomTom again.

PTT will not work with v4.4 as it is now. The utility used to remap buttons, PTTMod, interferes with it because it intercepts all presses of the PTT button. I'm will cook up a version of v4.4 with PTTMod removed so that people who use PTT will be able to get it working.

...

Thanks, I will check tonight for a new ROM...

What did you do to get ICR to work?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=474920&highlight=icr+raphael

I thougth for sure I'd need to change NATF's dialer - but it worked great with the MONX ICR Cab (attached).

I don't like ICR itself, so I use RESCO Audio Recorder.

BE SURE TO DO ONE RECORDING (Menu/Start Recording) during a call, to use Vito or Resco.

Great job NATF in incorporating the right slider for this in 4.4S

Is that 2 or 3 hours of continuous uninterrupted data usage? IE: Some sort of constant data stream. When I'm browsing the web, I don't usually notice it, although it's funny that it did happen as soon as I went to reply to this thread. The two things I changed the day it started were rom and radio. Changed the radio back. Guess I'll try another rom and see what happens.

I'm seeing I can use advance config to change this from searching this thread, but have yet to find the option in the thread or in advance config. I'm assuming it can be changed somewhere because it didn't do this stock.

If you are still looking for the option in advanced config you have to go under Menu-More Settings-Connections. At the bottom is the option to disconnect after certain amount of time. I think it was disabled initially upon rom install. Its one of the options I use to help battery life.

Well, after 5+ hours of cooking/testing, I have come to the conclusion that PTT just will not work with the 5.05 HTC ROM. I've tried CAB installs, cooking everything in, and also a combo of cooking/CAB. The PTT application will not execute on the phone.

All of these methods were with PTTMod removed.

I know this is an "issue" I've had with multiple ROMs (I'm reasonably certain it's in v4.3, too). I sync 4 email accounts and receive about 50 messages a day...so I have mine set on vibrate only...hence, the issue has never bothered me. But I have noticed that pOutlook won't sound the alert until it is idle (not syncing an account)...so if you have multiple accounts set to download often, there may be times when it never seems to sound off because it's spending all of its time syncing accounts.

How many accounts do you sync? Are they IMAP, POP3, or exchange account(s)? (I use exchange and 3 IMAPs...I hate POP3 and its lack of features.)

But my Fuze won't even vibrate when I get a new email on a consistent basis..

rem Well, I will just go back to 4.2 and be happy with it. I managed to get the slide dialer to work with PTT on 4.2; I just wish I could find a lock that worked with 4.2 and PTT.

Ok I installed the 4.3 manila on 4.4 and there was no significant reduction on smoothness or speed in TF3D. However it does take a while to smooth itself out when the phone first starts up, but that was also the case before 4.3 was installed.
I should also note that I removed the recent calls tab since i can access that from the home screen, I just wanted the txt and call option under the contacts tab.

Your removeHiddenProxy cab doesn't seem to work in 4.4. Am I missing something?

I shouldn't be able to pull up Cellular Video after running the remove cab...but I can. That's the main clue, but there were other small indicators that told me it wasn't doing anything.

Can you test it, and if I'm right, make a new cab? Thank you sir!

Hello all! I am a noob on the forum and the NATF 4.4 ROM is the first one that I have ever flashed. I had no problems with the procedure. I am finding this ROM to be great when compared to the stock. I do have one question though regarding the keyboard. When in portrait mode my onscreen keyboard used to be in full qwerty mode, however, for some reason it just switched on its own to compact qwerty. I have gone into the input settings and selected the full qwerty but it never accepts it after I hit okay. When the screen is in landscape the full qwerty is displayed. Does the disable T9 cab fix this? Is there something else that can correct this? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Great ROM by the way NATF.

I just updated to NATF v4.4 a few days ago myself. I tried using MUSICID for the first time ever... On the stock ROM I didn't see the MUSICID as a program, only the number to call...but anyway, I really like the MUSICID program, but some posts I read say its free, and others say its a pay service. Mine says its in a trial phase and only good for a few more days.

Is the MUSICID program supposed to be free, or is it supposed to charge? And if its supposed to be free, is there any way to make the trial notifications go away?

Thanks!

Could this have something to do with the NAFT Rom I was running.

Above the message I see the windows logo in the upper left and then the word Start - but nothing works when I click on those. In addition when I try to sink to my computer it does not connect, so I can not explore using ActiveSync or even going through My computer. I am stumped on what to do?

This was mentioned in the link he posted. I believe that he needs a micro sd card reader which can be found at any best buy/radio shack/ or any cell store anywhere. This is really crappy for you but it really does enforce the "flash at your own risk" idea. I blame ms completely (greedy bastards) but this can be looked at optimistically, it provides future cookers and users a better forsight in cooked roms and how precise everything must actually be. Yah, hard reset. This happened to me on 4.3, but it wasn't the ROM. It was a misconfiguration of the weather master program when I farked up adding in a custom city. Messing with the DB didn't help me. You may need to re-flash if the hard reset doesn't work for you.

following directions in the other thread I was able to flash newest version of NAFT ROM and now reinstalling everything. What a pain!

I was reading your other thread about the beta lockout. Once you go to a custom ROM, you are going to have to devote time to keeping your Fuze updated. NATF and other chefs aren't doing this as a business, they aren't offering 24x7 support if something goes crazy; it's all on you to be responsible for maintaining your device, your data, and the releases. If that's too much of a time investment for you, or if you're relying on your device for business and need 24x7 support, then you should really consider going back to the stock AT&T ROM. Good luck and hope you get your phone squared away soon.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487829

I had it happen to me too last night, and unfortunately the only thing you can do is put your Fuze into bootloader mode (explained in the thread) and reflash a new ROM.

"To enter Bootloader and check HardSPL version; with the device turned on, press and hold the volume down button, then press the reset button with the stylus. Release the volume down button when bootloader tricolour screen appears**"

Once you've got it in bootloader mode, hook up the USB cable to your pc and the screen should show USB at the bottom, then run the Rom Update Utility as you would normally, I hope that helps!

Yes I added a couple of custom cities, actually I should I say I tried to. I can't tell you for sure that the problem started after that but I'm about 80% sure it worked before adding the cities.

The ATT test rom being 20771, isn't that beta rom from the previous release... that beta windows was the most responsive ROM I have played with lately... I miss it : (

Though sooner or later the world might be ready for it, I hope when that time comes it can be lucky enough to have a(nother) NATF release.

Just some registry tweaks.

MusicID was being installed from CAB in prior versions, and that CAB had someone's registration information in it, unknown to me.

Did you add any custom cities to the database prior to this happening? I've tried to reproduce the problem, but can't.

Yes, I did. Is there a cab file to reinstall the Weather app only?

I really enjoy this program, and there are many times I could have used it in the past. I like it so much I may even consider registering...but since others have mentioned that the Shazam app was for iphones, would I have any problems trying to register it? Also, if I were to register it and then later update my ROM, do I have to register again, or are there files on the device I can copy and place on a freshly flashed ROM, or is there a registry setting I can export or anything?

Before I saw your post that mentioned that MusicID was installing another registration information, I actually tried downloading several copies of the MusicID.cab, all seemed to be slightly different versions, but all of them also complained about registration, so I must have just been using other unregistered copies of different versions.

But mainly I just wonder how easily it is to re-do the MusicID registration if I were to re-flash the phone again. If it'd be too much trouble, I may wait a few weeks for any updated ROM's before I try to register, just to avoid as much hassle as possible.

Thanks!

I just did this today myself, I was also having trouble getting the slider to answer and missed so many calls, I had to remove it. It's on the first page, but to make it easier for you:

I downloaded the original AT&T dialer from:
http://rapidshare.com/files/201433657/NATF_ATT_PhoneCanvas.cab

Once you have it downloaded,

To change dialers:
A) Turn on Flight Mode
B) Soft Reset
C) Uninstall Dialer
D) Soft Reset
E) Install New Dialer
F) Soft Reset
G) Turn off Flight Mode

If you don't download the AT&T Dialer from the link above, the phone still has basic functionality, but it doesn't look too pretty, and may be limited in features. (I only tried it for one call and realized I wanted the stock dialer, which seems to be what the link is above for the AT&T dialer...

Hope that helps!

I hope that one doesn't have a time bomb in it.

It's from an actual AT&T test ROM, so likely it's meant for actual rollout on AT&T's Fuze's so it wouldn't have the timebomb in it.

NATF: Can you confirm that 4.4 has an official build in it (i.e. no timebomb)? I assume so if it was from HTC's 5.05 WWE, but I'm still a bit new to this so I just want confirmation before I flash to it (from 2.3!).

So I am new to this whole forum/winmo world but I was deeply involved in the old SonyEricsson T68i modding/upgrading world.

Anyhow im sure I have a lot to learn as well as a lot to customize with the ROM but I wanted to say Thanks! This ROM is awesome. I would love to research more of these slide to answer type apps/mods and im very excited about you NATF 4.5 release especially after seeing the new Raphael released ROM today. Hopefully in time I can figure some things out and begin to contribute back to the community.

With 4.4 Standard rom can I just replace the rilphone.dll file in /windows after I update to new ATT test radio 1.12.25.19 or does it need to be cooked in the rom? If it has to be cooked in then I guess I have to wait till 4.5 or flash both att radio and rom.

After you uninstalled the sliding dialer, did you have any problems with the battery/charger icon? Mine was locking the icon, so it would not change if you plug in or unplug the charger

Either way that's a personal preference tweak of yours, not a "standard feature" that most people would want, so just do it yourself after flashing. Set up UC if you're lazy and don't want to do it manually.

C'mon, we're supposed to be phone "hackers" here, NATF puts out a great ROM for you to play with, make your own tweaks.

I change to the new radio as well and was wondering doesn't it update the rilphone.dll if it's extracted in the same location when you flash the radio? Or do I have to copy it to the windows directory? Also, how can I check to see if I have the new rilphone.dll?

Thanks

I don't think it does. YOu can check by knowing what dll was there and compare it to what dll is there.
