NATF, thanks for the weather master cab. As it turns out, after installing the cab I still had the problem. I thought let me try to start from scratch so I deleted the forecast.db and removed all cities from weather master, soft reset and selected the weather tab, nothing happened which I saw as a good thing. I then ran weather master and set one city to see if the weather tab would work and it did. I then was able to add additional cities and everything is working. I'm guessing the fact that the cities set in weather master were some how corrupt. Again, once I deleted all and then started over it worked. Thanks again for the help.

Yes. If you get an error, put the phone in flight mode, soft reset, and try again.
Speaking of, is there a way by registry, script or program to put the phone in and out of Flight Mode?
I ask because when I flash a new ROM, as soon as the phone comes on and the radio becomes active, I start getting text messages and even phone calls. At that point, I am not even ready to receive calls or data as the phone is still being configured. And then when cemail.vol and pim.vol are restored, I lose what call or data was just received.
NATF or anyone, do you have any ideas?

What about pulling out the SIM card?

That would work. It is not a prefered method, but it is better than not. Thank you. I had not thought of that.

Heweaver,
After you uninstalled the sliding dialer, did you have any problems with the battery/charger icon? Mine was locking the icon, so it would not change if you plug in or unplug the charger
My battery icon acts normally. I checked it just now, and it is working as it should. I uninstalled the dialer using the steps in my post.

Gary, what is your method to copy cemail.vol from phone to SD to phone? are you using Sprite or PIM or some other method to just copy that file?

On cemail.vol, I use a script. Download uc.zip from my signature for the scripts and examples.

Anyone has connection issues with Internet Explorer? It always tells me "Cannot Connect with the current connection settings". Not even on wifi.
I'm having this same issue. Everything connects to the internet except pocket internet explorer. It also always tells me "Cannot Connect with the current connection settings". I flashed the phone and then hard reset, the same issue. Also re-flashed, hard reset and did not install anything, same issue.
My device is a Fuze, the ROM is the NATF 4.4 standard (not AT&T, not lite). Please somebody help!!
Something else: I did not use the "Raphael Wrapper" to flash the rom, instead I used one that was included with previous versions of the NATF roms because the wrapper tells me that I need NET CF 2.0 or something like that.
I hope I described it well enough. Thanks.:o

I could not even install the weather master cab file. Could you please post the folder path for forecast.db file, I could not locate it? I will try to follow your steps see what happens.

Same here - I've mentioned it a few times, but there doesn't seem to be a solution as yet.
I guess we'll just have to wait for v4.5.

Gary,
With 4.4 and IE, is the text for you still microscopic? If not, how did you fix it?
I might be missing a quick feature of the new browser, but I can't seem to find it. I changed text to "largest", but that doesn't do it.
Thanks.

Yes it is. Even if the page only has one word on it, the text is small.

Hi, Noob here. I have a Touch pro 3 phone here in Aus. I just installed the latest NATF touch pro standard rom using hardspl and it seemed to go on fine. Reset and let it go through customise and it came up ok. Now when I open the keyboard slide it will lock the phone and I have to reset it to get it going. Anyone know how to fix this??

Is that working when connected via ActiveSync, Wifi and GSM? It seems no matter which connection method I have in place, it's as though IE is trying to connect to the net via some other, unsupported, mechanism.

I was having the same crash problem. I looked at this post and all I did was delete all cities in weather master. Then go to the Weather tab and add cities from there. Weather master seems to cause the crash. I will just use the TF3D weather tab.

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone noticed in 4.4 that mp3 ringers have extremely low volume. I tried using 3 different mp3s but it is still happening. The sound of the phone vibrating is lower than the actual ringtone. I tried searching but didn't get much info.
Also has anyone had trouble with the phone lock? A couple of days ago it kept saying I put in the wrong pin so I ended up hardreseting it. I think the phone lock might also be causing problems with ageye's G-Alarm. When the alarm goes off it goes straight to a maze or arithmetic question bypassing the phone lock (i have it set to 2 hrs) and it just freezes.
Thanks ia.

I need to send my fuze back to att - I downgradded to the stock rom. But my touch screen does not work. When I try to put back the original SPL it needs input from the screen - I am stuck at the digitizer page. Any ideas??
If any one knows how to get me out of this jam it has to be you NATF!

After flashing, my physical keyboard layout is all wrong.
(The fn key is a shift key, the numbers are in the wrong place.)
Is there a way to set it right?
I already tried the Advanced Config tool > Input > keyb layout > ATT/Cing.
Is there something else I'm missing?

I found a few free alternatives for remotely controlling a WM device.
My Mobiler - http://www.mymobiler.com - nice tool, I really like it. I download the ZIP so I don't have to install anything.
EveryWAN - http://www.sparus-software.com - also a great app with more remote features like remote regedit and remote task manager.
Enjoy!

Which ROM did you flash?
I used NATF 4.4 standard for touch pro.
It says in the description, the only difference between the two roms are the AT&T logos. Getting rid of the logos was one of the reasons I wanted to flash in the first place, so I went with pro...

No. If I find time I'll try and hard reset, and try it from scratch.
The only thing I do (once the Connection Setup app has defined my settings) is:
1. Delete the proxy from the connection, if it has put one in. Nothing seems to work with a proxy defined (or at least the one that the Connection Setup sometimes puts in).
2. Set the programs that should connect to a private network to use the "T-Mobile Internet" connection (the same as the programs that automatically connect to the internet).
Cheers,
Steve.

Let me first say that I really enjoy your ROMs. It's the only one I use on my phones.
With this latest ROM I have encountered an issue. My TouchFlo stops working and I get a message that says tap here to start TouchFlo 3D. I tap the screen and it tries to start TouchFlo but nothing changes. I also cannot make or receive calls when this happens. The only way to get the phone working is to reload the OS.
I'm not sure if this is related to the ROM or if it is an unrelated issue. If anyone has any ideas let me know!

Hey NATF! Sweet ROM, I am much happier with your 4.4 cooked ROM than with the ATT standard one. Ultimately, I just love this phone compared to my TILT, which was awesome as well.
The only thing I would change about the phone is to remove the calendar and contacts soft keys at the bottom of the screen. I would rather give those up for more real estate on the screen as I slide the navigation from left to right for the various functions.
Is there anyway I can turn this off? I thought that I had seen a cab that you had that would do this, but I cannot seem to find it.
Thanks! Awesome ROM

My only other thought/question to investigate, presuming you're running a NATF 4.4 stock, is to look into which radio you are running? Different radios also impact your battery drain, so hop over to the radio thread, read up, and try a different one out.

The mysterious battery problems have been discussed dozens of times in this very thread. But it's long because people continue to ask the same questions.

I have been running 4.4 for almost a week and have absolutely no battery issues. I have 3 emails setup that check automatically every 2 hours and I constantly am getting text messages.
For those complaining about battery life, what is your signal like where you are most of the day. Meaning do you have only a couple of bars or does your signal change between 'H' and 'E' often? I have noticed and read on this forum that this may be a cause of battery issues which does point back to radio. Maybe the people complaining about battery life do not have the correct radio for their location. The radio that works best for someone in Southern California (such as myself) may not be the same as someone in New York, for instance. I have found that the radio which provides the strongest signal for me has been the 1.11.25.01, but others have complained that radio kills the battery. I would suggest some experimentation with different radios to find the one which works best for your location. Just my 2 cents and what I have figured out over the last 4 months of owning this phone. Of course most of this was gathered from researching this forum and some experimentation of my own.

Well...I've tried all releases (currently at 4.4) various radios and this is the first time I have ever seen battery drain like this. I've heard people talk about it but this is my first experience.
I am currently using the black stone radio 1.09.25.35. It worked great on 4.3
I am currently trying to reflash the same radio...if not...then I'll go back to the lastest stock radio or what ever works best for me (as previously stated)

When I first flashed 4.3 I had rapid battery drain. Someone on here said to charge it overnight after flashing. I left it on the charger for about 12 hours after getting it to 100%, and my battery drain went back to normal.
Right after I flashed 4.4, I had the exact same 1% per minute battery drain like I did with 4.3. I did the same charging overnight like I did with 4.3 and it fixed it as well.
I don't know why, but it worked and I'm happy now. I'm on the stock AT&T radio 1.02.25.32. "Tofferbear" had same battery drain issues. His were resolved I think also, but I forgot what he did.

I will be going out of town for 10 days this coming Saturday night. I will still be on XDA in full capacity, minus uploading ROMs.
I am looking to release the new ROMs on Saturday afternoon, and they will be complete tear downs of the shipped ROMs. The Touch Pro ROMs will be based on the Official 5.05 WWE ROM, and the Fuze ROMs will be based on the [soon-te-be] Official 5.08 AT&T ROM.
This is quite a bit of work, so Saturday afternoon is the earliest I can promise... but they will come sooner if I have the time. :)

Dude you rock! I gotta give it to you, ive been running 4.4S for about 4 days now and its totally killing the stock ROM. I get much better battery life, and the phone is a lot more peppy and responsive. I also upgraded my radio to the newest firmware that came from the 5.08 ROM and I can say this phone is the closest to my SE w810i in call performance ive ever seen. Puts the iPhone to utter shame.
I am looking forward to this Saturday.

I had that problem on V4.3 but since I flashed to V4.4 I haven't experienced same problem.
I kept missing calls and would goto voice mail.

What happens when you plug your phone in via USB to PC, then turn phone on and get to the loader/digitizer screen?
Hopefully, the screen says USB at the bottom, and the PC detects the device.

I had to upgrade to NATFv4.4 this sunday after the timebomb went off in my old v4.0. Now the keyboard on my att fuze does not function correctly. I can no longer use the FN button as it now works like a capslock or shift. The top row of buttons now produces numbers rather than special characters so i have to type numbers blindly.

You probably flashed the Touch Pro Rom instead of the Fuze Rom. I'm pretty sure there's a cab to fix the keyboard layout but you'll have to do a search for it.
Here's the link for the fix.

An even better reason to use G-Alarm! I'm pretty sure I used the standard alarm without issue with this rom, but can't say for sure 100% and I don't have it currently to test. I've yet to find a ROM where I liked the ringtone used, although Ninja Gaiden takes me back to like 6th grade. I make my own ringtones anyways. You should do the same. We are all individuals, so it's preference.

This is not a problem with this ROM as it happened in the original AT&T rom, more of an issue with the device. If you do a search you will see this has been discussed to death.

TF3D2 is really stable "and extreamly responsive and quick", but it has not been completely resized. So a couple of things do not fit on the screen ex the calendar, music player, and some of the sub menus dont scroll all the way to the bottom.
From what I have heard the earliest we will get it is next week, however that is not set in stone because there is alwase the chance something might be tough to fix.

I've been flashing this rom since like 2.x and use the alarm routinely. It has not worked since I flashed 4.4 either. Ironically this was also the first time I did a hard reset after flash. I haven't tried reflashing to verify it is really the ROM and not something else. I think I will try another alarm because I never really liked the Fuze alarm to begin with.
Some other issues I've had with this version that I didn't have with others: I can't Dismiss certain appointments using the softkey.

When I flashed to NATF v4.4 I had problems with the sliding answer window...so I followed his instructions to remove it. After I uninstalled it, I tested receiving a call and noticed it acting like what you are describing. I then installed his addon cab for the AT&T stock dialer, and it restored the answer window to what I was looking for.
If you search back a few pages, one of my earlier posts describes the entire process to get the stock dialer back on, which should have your answer windows you are missing. You have to make sure to set the phone to AIRPLANE mode and reset before installing or enabling the dialers... (it's all in my post, or you can find the instructions on the first page of this thread).

I have been using v4.4 for over a week now, and haven't really had many issues... I removed the slide-2-answer dialer because I thought it was causing me to miss calls due to sluggish response times and restored back to the stock AT&T dialer that NATF has available as an addon cab... but over the past several days, I am beginning to think its just my phone now. Even after soft resetting (I've done this many times, and doesn't seem to act much better, even right after it boots up). When a call comes in, if I am staring at the phone, I can see the screen come on and the call box appear. It says UNKNOWN CALLER and has the answer / ignore boxes (and the send text button at the bottom). It stays like that for about 4 or 5 seconds, then it will switch over to the actual name or number of caller. I have my phone set to VIBE AND RING at the same time, but the problem is that for those four or five seconds, my callers are hearing it ring but my phone won't start vibrating or playing the song until it switches from UNKNOWN to the name or number. By that time, I may have time to hear one ring but almost always, I miss the call and have to call them back unless I happen to be watching it when the screen first lights up and be ready to hit ANSWER the moment I see their name or number appear.
Is there something I should or can do to try to speed up this process? If not, is there any way for me to increase the number of rings my callers would hear before it goes to voice mail to at least give myself a chance to reach it easier? Or is anyone else experiencing the same things?
Thanks!

I've been experiencing the same problem since NATF 4.3. I tested right after loading v4.4s without installing anything else and the same problem still existed. Under phone settings (call forwarding) you can extend the time before the call is sent to voice mail. However, if anyone has any fixes for this problem, I would appreciate it as well.

For what it's worth, I always had that very similar issue with my 8525. When I got my fuze, I skip the stock rom and went to 4.3 and now with 4.4. I uploaded a MP3,used the supplied MP3 trimmer, saved as my ring tone. I doubled checked the delay for ring to set at zero (i think is by default with NATF roms ). Set for Vibrate and ring setting.
The end result, long vibrate then my ring tone will occur. The number will show and the contact name if in my contacts. The contact picture takes .5 secs to show but sometimes 3/4 of secs to show. I believe this is due to the contact photo is stored on the storage card. I can slide to answer/ignore fairly quickly or even face down the fuze.
It works well , but I do have a fairly "stock" NATF 4.4 :). Not much customize stuff that loads into memory/ no themes/ or cosmetic changes.
I have not tried ignore/send text scenario yet.
As i type this, i am considering of moving my contact photos to the device to reduce the latency ( or so i would think )

I believe I have uncovered a possible regression in behavior between v4.2 and v4.4. Before with v4.2 I would get haptic feedback when I hit the unlock and confirm buttons to unlock the phone. In v4.4 this behaviour has disappeared. Has any one else noticed this. I liked the v4.2 behavior as it was I just love the haptic feedback. If I have a chance I may flash back to v4.2 to see if I can replicate the behavior again.

Hey NATF,
I'd imagine you're already aware of it, but just in case, they FINALLY released a version of Opera Mobile that supports Gears. It's still a beta and thus presumably has a bug or two - I haven't had a chance to test it myself - but definitely something to consider for the next version :)

I'm using an unmodified NATF 4.4.
I'm not familiar with different dialer skins so I don't know if that's how to set this: is there an easy way to change the dialer behavior so I can go straight to the contacts on a previous call without having to go into the menus? My Garmin rom on my Tilt would show the name and pressing the send button would dial but selecting the entry would go straight into the contacts. This made it easy to try calling someone on an alternate number.
In effect, I'm looking for behavior similar to the Call History but with the keypad. Can this be done either with a registry change or a different dialer/skin?
If this question has been asked and answered, can someone tell me the search string that might have produced the answer? I didn't see it.
Thanks

As long as you are flashing a radio that is for the device it will be fine. For example it needs to be a Raphael/Fuze Radio. You wouldn't be able to use the 1.09.25.35 (Blackstone) like NATF uses unless you have the device security unlocked.

the rom has nothing to do with the radio, unless the radio is included with the rom, which would be a waste of webspace.
You can download the ATT rom that includes the radio, and then download the NATF rom that doesnt inlcude the radio- this will result in the NATF rom with the ATT radio.

Hello, Thanks for the great rom, i've been using it for a while now and it's super fast, can't wait for tf3d 2, I am wondering if anyone has noticed if during calls the person on the other end is having a hard time hearing you. Ever since I installed this rom people tell me it sounds like im echoing, and that they can hear way too much of the background. Also some people have even said that when I talk it sounds like I'm yelling at them even though I'm barely talking. Are there any fixes or settings for this? Thanks

Ok, in the top right click on "Search this thread" and then type "Music ID" (include the quotation marks) and hit search. If everyone searched I bet this entire thread would be readable.

Yes, Music ID requires a subscription. it used to work because the version NATF installed by default had someones credentials in it without his knowledge. he was made aware of the situation and has yanked that version. so now you get a couple free ID's then you need to signup

I'm sorry to say that I will not be able to get a versions of 4.5 ready before I leave for Florida tonight. :( Last minute packing for the move and some other unexpected things prevented me from finishing all of the ROMs.
However, Verizon moved up the install date for FiOS in my mom's new apartment, so I will have a lightning-fast upload Monday afternoon. :)

Hey, Natf, I always mess around with rom during the weekend and I tried EnergyROM 2.1 beta, and it has these amazing soft key menus, I was thinking about staying on that rom but something about your roms just make me keep using them, I was wondering if you could get these new menus on your rom, Thanks;)

I have researched and I cannot find the answer, Hopefully someone can help me.
I installed the latest NATF Rom 4.4. Everything installed correctly. Did a hard reset.
I can't connect to media net. With Opera and IE. It says it's forbidden. I tried everything I possibly could and had no luck so far. Connecting through wifi it works. I rolled it back to the NATF 4.2 version that I had previously before installing 4.4 and it still doesn't work. Any Ideas? It's with AT&T.

Ok so I have an ATT fuze, I unlocked it a while back so I could use it on Rogers.
That worked fine, but as usual there were still some things that were locked down to ATT, specifically Data, GPS, Opera and a few other programs.
So I loaded your Touch Pro 4.4 standard ROM. That worked beautifully and made my phone 100% compatible with Rogers network, but the keyboard layout was all wrong (which I mentioned a few paged back). You told me I needed to load the FUZE ROM to fix the keyboard issue.
So I loaded the FUZE 4.4 standard ROM which fixed the keyboard layout but now I seem to be back to square one with the Data network issues.
I guess what I'm looking for is a Touch pro ROM with a FUZE keyboard layout.
Any suggestions?
Thanks! :)

I got my Fuze for about 2 week, first I installed NATF 4.3, it worked normally for a week, then i try defferent roms, and decided to stick with 4.4, but For last 6 days, my Fuze (with either NATF 4.3 or 4.4), every morning I wake up, it freeze as soon as I turn on my Fuze, after I soft reset, it show the screen of (prepare device for the first time use...) and the rest screens identical to the device has been Hard reset. Please help!!, I start to think my device have hardware defeat.
For what it's worth I have been having similar problems. I installed 4.3 when it first came out and a few days later I woke up to find the Fuze frozen. I pressed the reset button on the bottom of the phone and when the phone booted up it was running the first time installer stuff like I just hard reset the phone. After going through the setup again everything on my phone was gone just like after a hard reset. A day or so later the same thing happened again. I then tried 4.4 when it came out thinking something had gone wrong with my 4.3 install but the same thing was happening on that. Then I flashed EnergyROM onto the phone and that is behaving the same. Today I woke up and saw that my clock on the phone didn't move forward an hour but everything else on the phone was working. I pressed the reset button on the bottom of the phone thinking a soft reset would fix the clock but when the phone booted back up it was at the initialization screen again like a hard reset was done.
I am in the process of trying to figure out if there is something I am installing that is causing this behavior. The hard reset seems to only happen to me when I just press the reset button on the bottom of the phone and usually pressing that reset button doesn't cause a problem but at random times at least once a week I get this hard reset problem. I have been doing the recommended hard reset after installing a new ROM. Since this problem is happening to me with different ROMs I don't think it is ROM specific.
I don't think this is the problem but the first time I installed a new ROM on my phone I used the ActiveSync method and never had this problem. Then I started using the install from SDCard technique and this hard reset problem has been happening. Again I don't think this is the problem but figured I would throw this out there since I am running out of ideas. I'll post back here if I figure out what is going on. I am going to install the ROM again on my phone and not install anything else onto it to see what happens. Also I am syncing my phone with a Vista 64 computer if that makes a difference.

Is there something that I am doing wrong where in 4.4S most of the apps included in the ROM wont run? I cant find any crash logs but any new apps work fine, and all utilities work. I noticed the only games that work are Solitare and the Ball Maze, and it goes on like that for most all apps. You probably flashed the Touch Pro Rom instead of the Fuze Rom. I'm pretty sure there's a cab to fix the keyboard layout but you'll have to do a search for it.
Here's the link for the fix.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469450&highlight=keyboard+layout+cab&page=304
OK, I found a fix that fortunately did not require me to re-flash my phone:
use total commander to go to registry (\\Plugins folder when you're on the root directory) goto registry>HKLM\Hardware\DeviceMap\Keybd\ tap on add value, choose DWORD & write (CWSLayout) without brackets of course in the "New value #1" stead in green, press ok then in the next window write 1 in stead of zero in the value box, then ok. Soft reset and voila . . . u have the fuse keyboard.

It's called user customization. NATF makes all of his roms UC compatible, hint hint.
On a side note, maybe we can finally have A-GPS enabled phones! According to what users of the AT&T 5.08 rom are saying. :)

I assume you're talking about the 1.12.25.19 radio. I tried that one out and the battery life was miserable for me. GPS wise, it was about the same as 1.11.25.01, with a little less position lag. I've always been under the impression that A-GPS has not functioned correctly and have left it off. I did update the APN as Da_G instructed, and I don't think it's making a difference so far. How do you know when it's being utilized over regular gps?

While usually I would agree with you, things that usually make it into the ROM has no drawback and benefit everybody. Things that should be left out are preferences or nice to have. In this case, it doesn't change anything to the phone except add to 6.1 what it should have had, which is finger friendly menu selection, like TF3D. If you test use WM 6.5, you will see that Microsoft have made such changes. There's no learning curb involved. Such as other things NAFT have included, like Touch Response.
And yes, I can't wait for AGPS either, some of the result is amazing, like 15 seconds cold boot aquired time. Now we might actually have a usable GPS.

For starters you may with to try out:
Revert Programs and Settings menus to 3 icons per row - Rapidshare Direct Download - http://rapidshare.com/files/166798092/NATF_Revert_to_3_Icons.cab (http://rapidshare.com/files/166798092/NATF_Revert_to_3_Icons.cab) (from first page of topic)

For me getting GPS fix after soft reset is just 15 seconds but the battery seems going little faster. With the previous stock radio battery was very good and gps was about 2 minutes or more after soft reset. GPS lag is still there in both the versions (no improvement in gps lag).

I'm not sure if you're working on a v4.5 ROM or not, but you could try a suggestion in this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=489472) thread, which is to set the attributes to hidden for all of the manila files.

Make sure you use the .cab install file that replaces the rilphone.dll file to match the new radio. I've attached it here.

This is the same cab i posted on page 299. It works for any ROM. It just replaces the rilphone.dll file with the one that is intended for the 1.12.25.19 radio.
You sure it works on non-patched ROMs?

It will not, the ROM must have a patched NK.exe for this to work, if not the phone will stay in Airplane mode.

Yah, thanks for jogging my memory. Any ROM with a patched NK.exe will work with this CAB. Pesky NK...
Most custom ROMs have the patched NK these days, but it doesnt hurt to ask ROM creator first.
Side thought... If this radio was ripped from the new ATT ROM, does that mean the new ROM has a proper NK file designed for this radio/rilphone or is ATT using a patched NK as well... Or does a patched NK just allow you to swap out the file without the file needing to be cooked in...

I believe a patched NK just allows you to swap out the file. Da_G would have more info on this for sure.

I love NATFs ROM and am using 4.4 but I can not install the windows patch to fix the outgoing email problem from outlook. This is partly b/c the version of the 6.1 used in the build of the ROM I think. Has any body else figured a way around this yet. The last ROM I was able to send email was NATF 2.3 after I installed the windows patch cab. Any help would be appreciated.

Can someone email me the original dll file that came with the 4.4 rom? I dont know how else to recover from this other than to reload the ROM again.

Do you still have the RALPIMH.NBH file in the root of the SD Card? If so, move it out of the root and that may help.
No I actually use a separate dedicated SD card just for flashing ROMs so the RALPIMH.NBH file is no where on my phone. Since I reflashed my phone using the ActiveSync method again the problem hasn't come back. So far I am running with just the stock apps that came with the ROM with the exception of installing Keepass. I just bluetooth paired my phone up with my car today so that is something new I have added to the mix.

Hey, i flashed this rom no problem, and im loving it. But i have noticed a bug, dont know if this has been said before, but i dont think so from what ive read.
All the up/down scroll bars dont work. not with the stylus, or with your finger. whenever you try to use the scroll bar, it always just exits the drop down, or just doesnt do anything.
Also, when you press and drag, to scroll up, and let go, it shoots up really fast, and doesnt stop unless you eatehr touch it again, or reaches the end. This can be really anoying when i am scrolliung through a list, and then it zooms to the end really fast.
If you already have fixes for these problems, could you please post them, but if not, it would be amazing if you could see if there is any way you could fix these bugs. Thanks.

I recently bought an At&t HTC Fuze from a private seller. They directed me to this site to flash the rom, to restore default settings.
I downloaded:
[Feb 24th - v4.4] - Password: NATF v4 Series
| Direct Link | Rapidshare | HTC Fuze v4.4 Standard
I love how it navigates and it worked great up until this mornig. Screen started acting up so I powered it off and back on. Now the HTC TouchFlo isn't working. It is stuck on that screen when powering up. It says "Tap Here to launch"...never starts from here.
I'm admittedly WAY out of my league with this. What do I do??

Did you install anything? Sounds like a corrupted manila file.
Try a soft reset, if that does not work then try a hard reset.
If all else fails I would download the latest official AT&T Fuze ROM and restore everything to the way it was shipped and see if fixes the problem.

+1, hard reset most likely.
To do this, hold Vol Down & Enter (center d-pad), while holding them both down, do a soft reset with the stylus, then hold those two buttons until you get the reset screen. When the reset screen comes up, release the buttons and follow the prompt (press Vol Up to reset).
You mentioned that you are way over your head, I suggest reading through the Wiki's and HOWTO threads, stickies, etc on this site. There is a lot of info, but after a few threads you'll get the gist of the basics.
Flashing ROMs is not something to do without having a good grasp on what your'e doing, you can easily make your device into a paper weight!

That radio doesnt work as well as the previous .25 blackstone i was using, and it sucks battery life a bit faster (Seattle here). I dont get reception at the mountains like i was getting with .25 too.
I'll reserve final judgement for 4.5 with the radio however, but for myself 4.4 works better with other radios in my region.

Your battery might be bad, or your flash might have went bad. Try flashing with the AC adapter plug in, with/without batter inside. Copy the rom onto SD card, make sure rom is name RAPHIMG.nbh (I think), turn on your device with the volume up press down. See if that works for you.
You are flashing it to a GSM version of the Touch pro/Fuze , right?

If you flash from stock rom, auto rotate is not included in any of NAFT custom rom. You will need to go to the Software section, and look for a program that will fit your need, one that comes to mind is Gyrator, but there are others in that section that works great too.

HSDPA, shown as H on your status bar at the top, is a 3G standard for high speed data transmission that AT&T uses. In the stock ROM, they use the generic 3G label. There's a whole mess of info you can get into when talking cell phone bands and such - if you're really interestested do a search for EDGE, 3G, HSDPA, HSPA/UMTS, and/or HSUPA, on your engine of choice. In short, H means you are connected to the fastest cell network speed the Fuze supports.

Ron,
First copy over the nbh file to your sd card and call it RAPHIMG.nbh. (Take out the card and put it in your PC) Make sure the file is in the Root of the SD card. (not in any other folder)
Next, put the sd card back in.
Take out your battery and plug the phone in.
Place the phone in bootloader mode by holding the volume down key and pressing the power button.
The phone should find the rom image and let you flash it over.
PM me if you need more help.

Hmmm... I'm using Office 2007 and haven't had contact problems with either 4.3 or 4.4. The only thing I might suggest, if you've already verified that you have your options set correctly in ActiveSync, is to disconnect the Fuze from your PC, delete the mobile device from ActiveSync, and reconnect the Fuze. It shouldn't be necessary, but it probably wouldn't hurt to make sure your apps are closed (on both the phone and the PC) before reconnecting the phone, too.

This time when I went to options I noticed that although contacts was displaying on the list when syncing it wasn't checked in the options. Hey guys... I'm sooo sorry I haven't been online since Saturday afternoon. Things haven't been going so good here in Florida.
A) My phone fell out of the RV while stopping at a Rest Area in North Carolina. It's currently broken. :(
B) FiOS was installed on-time, but there was a delay getting into the apartment, so I'm just now getting an internet connection.
I'm not sure if AT&T will cover my Fuze under warranty, but since the phone is all broken on the inside, and looks almost new on the outside, I should be able to get it replaced.

I have a short-term solution for you:
I have an extra FUZE sitting in my desk drawer that I would be more than happy to loan you for your work, and you can simply send it back to me when you get your replacement.
If this is something that you might be amenable to, PM me and we'll work out the details.

You should have the visible alert with the dialer and an audible alert through the phone/earpiece/bluetooth. Make sure that you have call waiting notification turned on. Go into Start -> Settings -> Personal tab -> Phone -> Services tab. Select "Call Waiting" and click "Get Settings". Wait for it to retrieve from the network, then ensure that the "Notify me" radio button is selected. If it already is, select "Do not notify me" click OK. It may be that you're not hard resetting correctly?

It's not just volume down you have to hold, it's volume down+the center button before hitting the reset button.

Thanks RiceMan, but it was already set. I get a visual on screen, but no audible, so if I'm not staring at the screen when a call comes it while I'm on the phone, I never know about it...
Download the attached zip file, extract the files and copy them to your windows folder on the phone. See if that helps.

Thank you for the offer. I'll shoot you a PM later today. I'm heading to an AT&T store here in Largo to see about getting an on-the-spot replacement.
My local store and warranty support both told me I was SOL on getting mine replaced for pretty much any reason outside of 30 days. All they could offer was a new one for $440.

There is a one year warrenty on the phone. I just had a Tilt replaced that I bought April 2008. I walked in with a dead one and walked out with a working unit in 15 minutes.

new one for $440?! I paid $380 for mine brand new no contract.
Edit: Where's NATF and his 'superfast FiOS' connection? I need my 4.5 :)

Righ here \/ \/
I haven't had a chance to read the thread yet, but I wanted to give everyone an update as to why you haven't heard from me.

He is in Florida with no way to test his ROM.

I also had a Tilt (sold) that broke 14 months after purchase. It was out of AT&T warranty which is for 12 months but...
Still in HTC warranty which runs for 18 months - repair not replace. I did not even need receipt they looked it up with the serial number (under battery). I believe same might be true with Fuze but anyone requiring service will need to check with HTC customer service.
Anyone requiring service do not forget to put back to stock ROM & radio before sending in.
NOTE: HTC repair was very good but took about 3 weeks. I am business customer and AT&T sent me a free cheap phone to use (even sent overnight) while mine was being repaired - I still have as backup.

It's not just volume down you have to hold, it's volume down+the center button before power up.
I have been entering bootloader by just holding the volume down and rebooting. Even had a few users accidentialy enter it when powering on the phone (fat fingers)

Did you try disabling call waiting, saving the settings and re-enabling it?

Did you ever find a solution to this? I just recently did the following (yesterday):
1) switched to the newest Raphael radio 1.12.25.19
2) test drove NRG 2.0 3/12/09 build (looking for the new Manila)
3) experienced about 7 random hard resets in 5 or so hours
4) switched back to NATF this morning (now 4.4 from what I was running 2.2 until yesterday)
5) had three random hard resets in about 4 hours.
I'm thinking it may be the radio, so I'm going back to stock ROM right now, and then going to go back to NATF and see if it all works out.

No and it just happened to me again today after I pressed the reset button on the bottom of my phone. I am running the stock radio. It almost seems like at random times when I press the reset button on the bottom of my phone, instead of doing a soft reset it is doing a hard reset instead. It behaves just like when you choose the "Wipe Device" option in the system settings.
Today I was just getting done getting my phone syncing with Google's Gmail Calendar syncing app. The app seems to mimic syncing with an Exchange server. The previous time I had this problem it was a day or so after I had configured the phone to sync with a real exchange server. I am not sure syncing the phone with an exchange server has anything to do with this but so far that is one of the few customizations I have done to the phone after the last hard reset.
After this hard reset problem happens to me I usually do another manual hard reset just to clear things out to start over. So tonight instead of doing a hard reset again using the Vol down + Center button + Reset button technique, I tried the "Wipe Device" option under system settings. Dunno if that will make a difference but I am running out of ideas. I also completely removed the SDCard from the phone to eliminate an SDCard problem from the equation. I won't do any exchange type syncing with my phone this time to eliminate that from the equation as well.

This may or may not apply to everybody, but it's giving me a real headache. I cannot send SMS in Chinese. The recipient reads only a series of question marks (????????). I can read - no problem. I can even read the SMS I'm sending.
I used to use ZTA4. Now I'm using Plumsip6.1 Initially, I thought it was a problem with the font compatibility. I've changed different Chinese fonts a number of times. Problem remains - I can read, but when sent, recipient reads question marks.
It appears that there must be some kind of setting (maybe in the registry?) to solve this? This did not happen in NATF 4 or 4.1. Only this version (4.4). Also, I've hard-resetted my device many times - and installed the font and Plumsip6.1 before I installed anything else. Problem remains.
Anyone has this problem? I know not everyone uses Chinese, but working between different countries makes this really important for me. It is getting really frustrating as I cannot work without this issue solved...

Forget it. I solved it. Need to check the setting in messaging options: "Send unicode when necessary".

Don't think the radio is the culprit as I'm running 1.12.25.19 and NATF 4.4 Fuze Standard currently without any freezing issues.

In case anyone else has this problem in the future, you have to turn unicode on for sms messages. Just go to the sms inbox, then select menu -> tools -> options, then from the list of accounts, select "messages", then check "use Unicode if necessary" and you should be good to go.
If you want to turn this on by default via a UC script, try this:
<!-- *** Send unicode sms for chinese support *** -->
<characteristic type="HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings" translation="filesystem">
<parm name="SMSUnicode" datatype="integer" value="1"/>
</characteristic>

I'm running into another problem: After installing v4.4 standard ROM, everything was working fine, GPS was perfect with fast lock and no lag, all the tweaks were installed and working fine, but all of a sudden I have no internet connection, even though it shows as connected in the taskbar.
I went into connection settings and discovered that it shows up as MediaNET, even though I name my connection AT&T 3G. So whenever I go into the registry and delete the extraneous entries and reset, they come right back!
The phone is working, and it's connecting to data services, I just have no internet throughput. Has anyone else had this problem? I hate to hard reset if I really don't have to, but it's looking like I don't have much choice.
Any help is appreciated.

Go through Connections. Start -> Settings -> Connections Tab -> Connections -> Manage Existing Connections.
Create a new connection... Name it whatever eg. AT&T 3G. Choose Cell Line/3G
AP Name should be - wap.cingular
No username/password/domain. Under advanced, i have software and IP compression ON. Thats it for that.
Then choose your new connection to be the main. (as in, dont leave 'Auto Pick' selected).
In some cases, the main connection has a nasty habit of changin AP names to something different, i would fix, but it would revert. Easiest was to create whole new connection and just use that.
Lemme know if it works.

Friday afternoon I flashed back to the STOCK original ATT ROM, then immediately back to NATF 4.4. So far, so good - going on nearly 48 hours now. Syncing my exchange account and my IMAP account, and have all of my other software back on there again without a HR (even after a few soft resets). I haven't put Fuzeberry back on yet because I'm actually enjoying not having the crackberry icons for a while (but missing a few of the tabs) and am waiting patiently for the Rhodium Manila to be released (hopefully soon).
So, not sure what the culprit was, but it's looking so far like going back to STOCK and then putting on NATF has fixed it. I haven't changed radios tho...not sure I want to test fate yet. ;)

Please read this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448008) for instructions on how to flash.
Please read this (forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3124315&postcount=4) in the "Removed from Lite ROMs" section for a list of items not included in the lite ROM.
Look at the screen shots in post #3 to find out how much memory flashing this ROM will free up. To compare it to what you currently have, go to Start-Settings-System tab, and tap on "Memory". Hope that helps.
