Well CRAP. You said they were in the \Windows folder. Then move them from the \Windows\Rings to the \Windows folder and see if the dupes go away.

Is there a way i can delete MusicID.exe in the windows folder? I can't seem to delete it using Total Commander.
The reason I want to delete it is because its subscription based and not the full one.

It could say, flashing this may brick your phone and i would still have to do it... for that 'just in case it works'!!! Hell, i would buy an iPhone if i could put NAFT's ROM on it... then show it off to the Mac sheep.

Hi,
I am not able to install any program's (CAB) files on my AT&T Fuze running on NATF v4.5 TP ROM. Whenever I try installing CAB file, it gives message "Installation of xxxxx.cab was unsuccessful".
Also another problem which I am facing is that for incoming phone calls, screen just displays phone number and not the name for the numbers which are already part of address book. I've had restored address book from Sprite back-up, but caller id doesn't recognize the name for the incoming phone. Any idea what would be going wrong?
Please help.
Thanks.

After ROM update make sure you do hard reset. Then I use Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista Active Sync) to restore address book with 175 contacts from Outlook and have no issues installing CAB files.

Hey NATF,
Just seeing if you were able to fix the ringtone issue?
Yes. Using any registry editor, delete the following key, and soft reset.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds]
"Ringtones"=multi_sz: "Ring-WindowsMobile .wma",
"Ring-Standard .wma",
"Ring-Vision .wma"

I've only run into this is you accidentally select one of the missing tones.

You cannot delete the file since it's cooked into the ROM. It's not the "full" version of past ROMs because that CAB had someone's registration information in it.

Does this only happen in Opera? If so, then the proxy settings defined in Opera may interfere with ISP.Cingular, since it does not route through a proxy server.
Try editing the Opera.ini file and removing the lines where the AT&T Proxy is defined.

Yeah I had to edit the ini file to get Opera to connect for other sites. It's those 2 sites that I cannot get to for some reason. CNN.com and MSNBC.com work fine though...
I cannot connect to those sites with Pocket IE either.... hmm...

Check out the radio thread sticky'd at the beginning of the ROM development board for the 1.12.25.19 download. Then follow the same procedure you would use if you were flashing a new ROM (except for the hard reset). You do not need to unlock your phone unless you flash a non-Raphael radio. If you haven't flashed a new ROM before, head over to the "Flashing Your First GSM Raphael" thread (also at the top of the board) or the Wiki and absorb its knowledge. Make sure you already have HardSPL before you try and flash a ROM or radio. The new radio and 4.5 are well worth taking the time to upgrade. My battery life, signal, and speed have all increased significantly since v4.4.
Thanks, DavidJ84!
Since you did not mention it separately, I assume that the rilphone.dll file for 1.12.25.19 is already included in NATF's 4.5S ROM. Correct?

If I delete a folder from the OEM directory in NATF's Kitchen that has a package that I do not want in the ROM (for example: PACKAGE_Raphael_VolumeControl) and then build the ROM, will that work, or is there more to it than that?

That depends on which folders you delete. Some are required for the ROM to boot/function.
However, HTC Volume Control, from your example, has no dependencies outside that folder.

Interesting, in previous versions, it always DID control the TouchFlo music player. I always wanted to change it because I use BeyondPod to listen to podcasts and that uses WMP, but if I hit pause on my headset, it would instead start playing whatever was queued up on the TouchFlo music tab.
Anyone know a way to control this?

Another question:
When I use the volume hard keys to adjust my phone volume (I installed previously provided TF3d w/ HD contact CFC on top of the lite version) they are not independant of each other? Is this normal? I'd like to keep system sounds on but have my ringer on silent or vibrate and they seem to affect each other when I do so.
thx - 4.5 is pretty solid thus far!

Flashed 4.5s yesterday on my Fuze. Seems terrific. And a major step up from 3.2 (yes, it had been a while since my last flash). Thanks NATF!!! You rock!
One problem, though. After my ROM flash and loading a few common cabs (Google maps, etc.), I used my Fuze with great satisfaction for 24 hours. Then, this morning, I loaded CE-Star, my favorite Chinese-language enabler software suite, designed for English-language based Windows Mobile devices (it allows the proper rendering of Chinese texts appearing in documents/web pages/emails and it enables one to type out Chinese when needed).
So what's the problem? Now I keep getting the green Windows Mobile "Owner Information" page appearing each time I wake up my phone. If I tap on that Info page anywhere, it disappears and I'm back to where I need to be. But this is quite a nuisance. Any idea how to stop the "Owner Info" page from appearing after wake up?
By the way, this same version of CE-Star loaded up fine and worked beautifully on my Tilt, on my Fuze when I first purchased it, and on my Fuze running NATF 3.2.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Thanks for the 3 people who responded to my dilemma. I decided to just start from the beginning and not do a full backup b/c something must've carried over from the full backup and messed with v4.5. I needed to do some clean-up anyway, so I just installed the stuff I needed and actually used and everything is working great.
Very fast rom NATF, thanks for your hard work.

I have read through this entire post, as well as about 25 others (I'm new to flashing and such) and I can't seem to find a fix for this. I have NATF v4.5 ROM with MobileMatt's Fuzeberry theme. Whenever my Fuze finds an available network, it alerts me. If my phone is on vibrate it will vibrate. Now the problem with this is when my phone is not a vibrate or silent and I am talking on the phone, the alert sounds and can be heard on the phone call. This happens every minute or so when I am driving home from work (I live in a college town and there are a million different wifi connections). It's incredibly annoying. I'm fairly new to all of this, but I do know how to customize my phone and in "Sounds and Notifications" the box is unchecked to play a sound for that action "Wireless Network Detected" I am just wondering if anyone else is having this problem and if so can it be fixed. I do know how to do regedits (PHM Regedit is what I use) so if there is a fix please post. Oh, and I've done hard and soft resets :)
Thanks in Advance

Man I am having more weird issues...
Battery icon - if I plug it into a charging cord the charging icon comes up, but when I remove the cord the battery icon doesn't come back unless I reset.
Also, the battery icon, when it is available, always looks full so I cant tell what the level is at.
Is this something I can fix w/out hard reset? (yes i did hard reset after flashing)
thx

1st April 2009, 08:46 PM
The only extra s/w I have loaded is Google Maps and TT7 but it would seem that using the GPS functionality (really fast locks is nice) seems to kick something into high gear.
After a 30min drive and then checking email I went down to 54%
4.4 and earlier were much better and did not see this with 4.4 and the latest AT&T radio from the rom on which 4.5 is based.
It's like some background GPS related thread is getting stuck in high gear and chewing battery up

I'm having problems with my Fuze(4.5 standard) connecting to the internet on random occasions. I have disable data in Weather app, and my email is set to connect only once a day. It seems my phone can't go 30 mins without establishing an internet connection on its on. If I press taskmanager it shows no apps running, but the usage is in the 45-48% range. It usually in 36% with previous NATF roms. ANY IDEAS or any1 else experiencing this:confused:

An update... My post was lost in the XDA website kerfluffel a few days ago, but I was having issues with the SMS menu. Was able to isolate that it only happened after I installed the call history tab. I've since removed it, and the SMS menu works fine again. But clearly the two don't play well together (it all worked fine on 4.4)
Anyway - another (very) small glitch I've noticed... The wireless modem button in the HTC Standard Comm Manager doesn't work.
I haven't noticed battery drain or anything like that. I've been very happy with 4.5 so far. Looking forward to 4.6. Expect a donation soon.

Small Status Update:
v4.6 is coming along nicely. I'm playing around with 21042 Rhodium, and the new TF3D. So far, everything is smooth.
That being said, this April will be very busy for me since I just found out that my offer was accepted on a house, so I've got a lot of work to do getting ready for settlement in early May. I will be around XDA during the week (while I'm supposed to be working), but almost all of my weekends will be spent getting the house in order.

NATF,
Top notch ROM as always. Been following your stuff since the Tilt. Never a bad flash!
I have a small issue I would like addressed if possible. The connection setting for Cingular are locked in 4.5. I would like to be able to open the connection properties and put different DNS servers in to the connection. Cingular/AT&T DNS is rotten to the core so I chose OpenDNS which is WAYYYY faster.
To remedy for now, I created a new connection with all the Cingular settings and switched the default connection to the new one. Mission accomplished. However, I would have liked to edit the original one.
Not a big issue but might be good for some.
Thanks again for all your hard work!!

other bug i am experiencing is that i cannot use any of my moded DLLs for the task bar.i was useing them on your 4.4 ROM with no problem, but i had no luck to get them working on 4.5

I just got an HTC Fuze from AT&T, and I decided to try a cooked ROM (NATF 4.5). Great job; it is so much better than the stock ROM! I wonder if anyone knows what causes the following:
I have blocked data access to the phone through my AT&T account and use only wifi. Like many others, I get the annoying "There is a problem connecting to the gprs service in your registered home network" popup message when the phone attempts to connect to EDGE/3G. I followed this (http://www.fuzemobility.com/how-to-disable-3g/) advice to disable 3G, but there seems to be no way to disable EDGE. I know the phone is trying to connect to EDGE because I see the signal icon change to an "E" for a split second right before the popup appears.
I found that the attempted connection mainly occurs (for me at least) in the following two scenarios:
1) AGPS is turned on in Settings, and any program attempts to use the GPS
2) Immediately after the phone boots
I fixed #1 by turning off AGPS in Settings. I just use QuickGPS to download satellite info over wifi. Do you happen to know the cause of #2, or a remedy to the EDGE connection issue? Thanks.

That may not be a bug. I switched back to the bone stock 5.08 yesterday. I tried to send my wife an MMS of a camera picture this evening and the same thing happened to me. It failed due to poor signal and put it back in my inbox. The "To" field was blank, but the rest of the message was there. I recreated the message and it did show up in the outbox that time.
Not sure what the problem is there, but I'm just letting NATF know that I've seen it on the OEM ROM that 4.5 is based on. Perhaps I am describing a different problem, but it sounds like the same thing.

can you elaborate on this? There is a faster connection us AT&T people could be using?
Sorry, BPM 2000! Didn't mean to mislead!
The throughput isn't faster, just the lookups for web sites. The DNS servers at Cingular/AT&T are lousy and by choosing another DNS you can get a little faster name resolution. Web sites pop up just a smidge faster IMHO but YMMV.

Remapping the media keys on the HTC Fuze no longer seems to be working (via the Buttons control panel, aka HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40CX); I've been using UC them since about v4.1, but in this version suddenly they no longer work (i.e. no matter what I set "Calendar" to, it always launches the calendar.)

My apologies for this. Using any registry editor, navigate to HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\MEdia Net\, and delete the ReadOnly key. After a soft reset, MEdia Net can now be edited.

One more question: Since kitchen 4.2, RaphaelKitchen.cmd did not include the option for creating packages. I see that what it ws executing was buildos+package_tools-2.7.exe. Is this what's needed to create packages, and should I just retain the version from kitchen 4.2? Or is some new method being used since?

I started using Da_G's kitchen mod a few releases ago, and he stripped out a lot of those options. I keep a fresh copy of RaphaelKitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411915) on my hard drive so I can create OEM packages when needed.

Hi, I tried using the search function, but it came up with nothing when I looked for GPS Lag.
I was wondering if anyone was experiencing GPS Lag?
With the new radio I do get really fast fixes if I use ATT GPS Utility, and then boot up TOMTOM, however, I seem to be having that GPS Lag.
While I was driving today, it was showing me about 200 feet behind. It wasn't a big deal, but in downtown LA, where I think the network of road is incredible insane, I was confused a few times and went off track.
Just wondering if anyone else has gps lag. Also, I don't think I had this problem with the old rom, it just took me forever to get a lock.

Yes, it's missing for me, and is set to "on". Not the end of the world, but it would be nice to switch it off.
I had a problem yesterday with 4.5, but I suspect it was "just one of those things". I performed a soft reset with the Soft Reset app after switching Manilla off (as I was going to upgrade it), but it didn't complete the boot cycle - it got stuck on the splash screen. I reset with the button on the bottom, and it booted ok, but the start menu was corrupt, and Programs and Settings wouldn't start. The only function available was Contacts.
I ended up hard resetting, and restoring from a backup (thank god for Sprite), and had no problems switching Manilla off, and resetting with the Soft Reset app again.
On a separate note, anybody intending to install the LantisOS TF3D Contacts Tab, and the HD Weather tab, make sure you install the Contact Tab first, as it blitzes the weather tab, and resets your cities - it must to other stuff too because I had to install the Weather Database editor again so that it would initialise properly.
NATF - Keep up the good work. Looking forward to 4.6.
Cheers,
Steve.

My guess is that it is because the Touch Pro does not have a PTT button. Try out the Fuze lite one and report back.
I am sure there may be other ways to get it to work, but this one is as simple as flashing a new ROM.

The Touch Pro builds do not include the PTTMod application needed to easily remap the PTT button. However, you can still map it manually by creating shortcuts named short_ptt.lnk and long_ptt.lnk in the Windows folder, each one pointing to a favorite program, and those shortcuts will be triggered on pressing the PTT button.

@ natf
first off, your 4.5 by far has been meeting my expectations in regards to speed and stability. the only problem that i mentioned before was the MMS issue but of course, take an extra step and it works just fine.
I wanted to know as you move forward with 4.6, rohdium manila is all the buzz in the software section of xda-developers. there are plenty of themes and other functions such as the stock market ticker, landscape, and customizable clocks/fonts. i updated from 4.4 to 4.5 without any question to the stability of your rom but would like to know if you are planning integrating rohdium manila into any of your roms. I checked your changelog and found that we are still working with the htc version.
im also waiting to see if you will be getting into the 6.5 or if you will be waiting for perhaps an official release before we move into that direction?
i hope the move is going well and understand that your busy too. thank you for the many hours you've put into these roms and look forward to your answer!
btw...your signature...tricky buddy...i clicked on natf 4.6 beta rom and found myself at the 4.5 page...shame shame...getting all our hopes up for another flash...hahaha

I use GMaps and have never had a problem with 4.4 or 4.5 and my signature radio. The nearest to a problem I've seen (duplicated) has been a connection failure when moving from an area of 3g coverage to edge and then to gprs. I DON'T think it a gps problem, but a data connection failure. Soft reboot solves without changing location.

I've experienced horrible GPS lag (i.e. a hundred meters or more) ever since I got the phone, and it's lead me to pretty much stop using it. The lock time got a lot better with his v4 ROMS tho, but just as much lag: Garmin, for instance, doesn't announce turns until I'm already past the street.

So when I had the original ROM on my Fuze, I could turn WiFi off and on with the communications screen. After installing NATF 4.5 the option is greyed out. It doesn't look like I can turn it off.
I was only able to turn it on when I went into WiFi settings, and there was a link to click to turn it on. Since the option is still greyed out I can't turn it off.
I searched the thread for Wi-Fi and hit no results. The thread is so many pages so if this was touched on I apologize..

Wow, my lag isn't that bad. But it does sometimes become a problem. Especially when it announces "take the exit right" but then announces "stay in the left lane" too late and I'm boned and have to turn around.
However, I've started looking at the picture more rather than relying on voice.

You can install that in 4.5 itself. You got to follow these steps,
1. Download XBMOD's Rhodium Manila.
2. Install the manila by following his instructions.
3. Download Fuzeberry2 theme
4. Install the theme.
It is independent of versions.
P.S: I dont think NATF would be interested to add fuzeberry theme or as a matter any theme in his ROM. Themes are more personalized, it can be done on need basis.

v4.6 was going to include TF3D-2 (Rhodium), however since the port is not quite ready for prime time, I have decided not to include it. You will be able to install TF3D-2 from CAB, and then install the Fuzeberry theme on top of it.

In order to achieve this, and keep TF3D, I believe your only option is to hack the Programs tab. By default, the Programs tab is limited to 18 applications, but I believe there are registry tweaks floating around to add more. Once you add your applications to the list, you can simply backup the registry keys that store the info, and restore them after flashing another ROM.

Fuzeberry2 uses showaco's all programs tab v4 for rhodium manila. The older versions are also still available. Thread:

Has anyone noticed any issues with wifi speed when copying files over a network?
I just got everything set up last night, but when I was copying files from my phone over my wifi network I was barely breaking 40kb/sec. I know it's not a signal issue because my 8525 would get about 10 times that speed, plus I took the phone and set it right in front of the router to make sure it had full strength and it still sat around 40kb/sec.
I don't know if it's related to the rom, the radio, or some bizarre limitation of this device?
Any input?
Quick edit: I just remember there is a wifi mode setting and I checked and it IS set to best battery, not performance. Unfortunately I can't test if this is the issue until I get home.

I am curious to try this with my device. Could you please advice how to do the file copy over WiFi? I am connected to my WiFi network, but not able to see my device in my Network places though (Win Vista 64bit).

Update to my Wifi speed:
It was indeed the performance settings.
I changed the slider from Best Battery to Best Performance and it immediately pulled the regular Wifi speed I'm used to.
I'm glad that is all it was.
Also, I was having a problem setting permissions in the Java program for Opera Mini to always allow net access and never ask. It also wouldn't even let me give it permissions to write to the local file system for saving pages.
I found the problem with an over-restrictive policy.utf file.
Replacing the policy.utf file in /Windows/appdb with the one I attached to this post will allow you to set any permission you like on Java apps.
NATF, you may want to switch out the file in your future rom builds so that people can set app permissions as they want. I only use 1 java app but it's Opera Mini, so being able to set it to always allow is a must for me :)

You can not browse to your device on any network, Windows Mobile does not have the required services.
You can browse your network FROM your device though. I use Resco Explorer to do this. Other programs probably do it too, but I've had good luck with Resco over the years.

Just a little something you may like if you want to be able to browse TO your device. Theres a handy little app I have discovered that adds ftp capabilities to the device. I havent tested it on my new raphael, but it worked wonders on my Kaiser ( Raphael lets me actually use USB storage properly). Im attaching the file ( Its freeware so I dont think it should be an issue ). Also its only a 30 day trial.
Give it a try and let me know if it works out for ya :)
PS
I love this rom NATF. Its working amazingly. Im deciding on whether or not to try out 4.6 since 4.5 is so perfect lol

is anyone else having an issue downloading weather data for a custom city? I put in the city I work in as well as the city I live in, and neither of them will pull data. If I choose one of the standard cities near me (e.g. Olympia, WA), it works fine.
I get an error saying there was a connection issue and I can retry, but it still fails.

I have noticed this only when a screen lock is used. I don't use S2U2, just the built in WM device lock.
Ahh, okay, thanks NATF! I really like S2U2, I guess I will just have to live with the delay, which isn't too bad I guess, and sometimes it has no delay at all. By the way, this ROM is awesome, I have used your ROM's since the beginning (I won't put any other ROM's on my AT&T devices but yours now) and this is by far the best performing and fastest one yet, I know you hear this a lot, but thanks again and keep up the good work!

Using 4.5, and it's a great ROM. Needless to say. I have one small report: Whenever I try to set a new favorite picture album on sd card, the new setting is forgotten on re-boot and is reverted back to the standard out-of-the-box selection.

finally grew the balls to flash the 4.5 standard. and its obviously faster. i'm in the process of downloading the 1.12.25.19 (i think, leaked radio http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3400754&postcount=1) and installing that to see if these two things shall slow this device's power needs down.. i'll update.
THANKS NATF
EDIT 1: wow what a bloomin idiot i turned out to be. if you'll notice the link i posted above if for an ENTIRE ROM flash.. so i hard spl'ed, flashed to natf 4.5, hard reset, then freekin played with it for ten seconds, and flashed that rom.
so now i have question: if i flash back to natf, as he says he doesn't include a radio, will i attain my end goal, which was a natf rom with the newest leaked radio? sad point just realized: what radio did i originally have, that i was happy with reception and gps, just not battery life...
as i watch this bloatware install from the mistake
p.s. can anyone tell me which number group to be lookin at to know what radio i have? i now see i have1.12.25.19 which appeared to be my original intention. now the only question remains.. which radio did i have to begin with?
does mobilematt fuzeberry work with this? the cab won't install even after sdkcerts was run

You can safely flash back to my ROM since HardSPL prevents the AT&T ROM from overwriting the SPL. The new radio will remain, so you will have reached your goal of running v4.5 with the new AT&T Radio. I believe that 1.01.25.16 was the original Fuze radio version, but I'm not sure of that.
The newest versions of Fuzeberry will not work because they are dependent on the new Rhodium TF3D. The old versions will work as long as you remember to disable TF3D prior to installing the CAB.

as my phone had great reception, and GPS seemed to work for me fine to begin with, my main concern was battery life. i've searched many threads about battery life, and mine seems to be doing the "drop to 21% quickly, then stay there half the day"
that was the reason i flashed this rom. can't say battery life improved that much, but i can tell you the phone did. much faster. snappy. gps is very quick to work. lots of memory. great tech support from NATF.
no real complaints in fact. quickly sent myself an MMS, and it was received. only issue so far is EDGE network seems to go to a grey icon more often.. not shure what this means or why it does it, but it means i'm not getin my gmail pushed to me all night whilst i sleep. but i think even that's ok
hey thanks so much NATF, my gay mobilematt thing is installin now (don't know why it wouldn't last night, i even soft reset...)
i was very afraid; i came from a wizard that i flashed.. and i musta done 100 roms on that phone, and never found anything that was this smooth. yeah others made it faster, but then i lost email, or lost MMS, or lost something, battery... too many glitches. made me scared to flash tis rom. but that's not the case here.. very clean and glitchless

I've had odd battery life issues more than once with NATF ROM's, but only if I failed to do a hard reset after flashing. Every time I've done a hard reset, the battery issues go away and stay away. Not sure if that's what's affecting you and yours, but a past-flash hard reset was the cure for mine.

I'm running HTC Fuze on NATF 4.5. When I attempted to change the DNS settings (to fasten iNav load up time), i realized that this option is hardcode and not changable? Could anyone points me to a cab or utility where i can have this setting changed? Also, has anyone figured out how to eliminate the no "ring delay" when there's a incoming call? I love this ROM for its speed, stability, lean and power efficiency. Thank you!

I'm sure there are some important differences between the Touch Pro and the Fuze ROM v4.5. Aside the obvious of Keyboard layout difference and mapping PTT key, MediaNet custom config was also not available (hardcoded) on the 4.5 ROM for Fuze (???). I flashed both of the 4.5 (fuze and touchpro), I'd like the touchpro much better. There's only two things that I hope I can find way to fix on the touchpro v4.5 ROM: (1) able to configure keyboard layout to ATT; (2) Custom assign PTT key. Please let me know if you know a cab file or a registry fix to obtain these two features. Thanks!
Updated: (1) resolved!!! Downloaded one of the cab file from this thread. Still searching for number (2) solution.

I don't use Google Maps, so you'll need to elaborate.
Google maps allows you to zoom in and out of the viewing area using the scroll wheel, like Opera, etc. In 4.5, the scroll wheel no longer allows you to zoom in, you have to 'tap' the zoom in icon in the application. However, you may still zoom out with the scroll wheel in 4.5.

Hey NATF, keep up the great work. Just flashed to the 4.5 rom from one of your older versions and I like it a lot.
Two questions though:
1. On my old settings, I had a tweak where the text message box would display three lines instead of the two. I can't find the registry tweak or cab that allowed me to do that.
2. Can 4.5 run the 1.12.25.19 radio fine? I just have to flash it using that right. Do I need to install a new rilphone.dll ontop of your ROM?
Thanks again!

I answered your MEdia Net issue just a few posts back. To answer for (2) is also in the thread, but I cannot remember where, so here goes:
The HTC ROMs only support mapping Short Press and Long Press of the PTT button. The Fuze ROMs include a special keypad.dll file that allows the [also included] program PTTMod to remap the PTT button, and all of AT&T's special keys on the hardware keyboard.
If you want to remap the PTT button in an HTC ROM, you need to create shortcuts to the programs you want to launch, and drop them in \Windows\. They should be named short_PTT.lnk and long_PTT.lnk.

Not sure about #1. For #2, yes it does support that radio, and the rilphone.dll in the ROM is already matched to it.

Thanks, NATF
Now I have one more favor to ask about. Can anybody tell me what file starts CLOSE BUTTON CONTEXT MENU in SPB Pocket Plus, so I can create shortcut?
Thanks!

In the Windows directory, edit "thread_sms.htm" using a registry editor (I used Total Commander). Scroll towards the bottom to the line:
<Inbox:content id="COMPOSESUBJECT" width="98%" height=35 spell... etc.
Change the value of height (I use 53 to get about 3 lines of text) and save your changes. You should see the results immediately without a soft reset next time you reply to a text.

I got the PNJ image with link to SpeedTest web site to work in message (above) but not in my signature box. I tried both what NATF suggested with just IMG text (see reason for editing below) and with full text code to include URL link to SpeedTest by clicking on image:
(URL="http://www.speedtest.net")(IMG)http://www.speedtest.net/result/446213663.png(/IMG)(/URL)
With ( ) brackets replacing [ ] so text will show. It must be because image is too large for signature box as NATF stated in his reply email to me above but text must be correct otherwise the image above would not work and in looking at NATF image size in properties it is the same size.

I like the NATF ROM - even though it's all black like pretty much every other one out there it's at least not all crazy neon or themed and the pre-installed settings and programs are a good set.
Hopefully we'll see it soon. In the meantime I think I'm going to check out a WM6.5 ROM and see what that's all about.

I wasn't sure if it was the ROM or not, but eventually I get connected so I haven't worried about it much. If there is an issue with it, maybe we'll see a fix in 4.6 that's undocumented or something.

This is related to the "white box" issue I mentioned before. I think it has something to do with the flash issues. I have tried other builds (even the build from v4.4 that worked without issue) but to no avail. I think it's the flash build itself.
Also, I think I saw this mentioned so I'll keep this brief...remapping the keys in Settings>Buttons doesn't work half the time...specifically with the hardware keyboard keys. For example, while swapping Opera builds around, my internet key got mapped to PIE. I changed this in Settings>Buttons to Opera Mobile and it still opens PIE when I press the button.
Anywho, very nice otherwise...I look forward to a fantastic v4.6! When my finances free up a bit, I'll be making another donation to the school of cool! :)

Yes, the signal "H" represents HSDPA, or it is so called 3.5G

Has anyone else noticed the Youtube app is really sketchy if you're connected to Wifi before opening it? It rarely connects. As soon as I turn Wifi off and open it up again, it works.
It seems on a clean reboot if wifi is on at boot it works right though.

hey what were we supposed to do to get the ringtones to show up? i know i've got a good amount of .mp3's i've found elsewere for original ringtones in the windows folder, yet ringtone settings don't show those ringtones. i've read every page of this thread at some point or other, and i know it's been mentioned, but i'm unable to fix this
edit: delete all this?
Yes. Using any registry editor, delete the following key, and soft reset.
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds]
"Ringtones"=multi_sz: "Ring-WindowsMobile .wma",
"Ring-Standard .wma",
"Ring-Vision .wma"
edit 2: found phm, went to said key..? deleted what i found (the first line was the only thing there) and reset the phone. it seemed to make something go away, but it shorely didn't cause the ringtones to show up. now i have only three choices.. not even one that did show

They are both included... however, the full screen Notification Manager pop-up is not included because it interferes with HTC's Large Title Bar. In the event that anybody does not use Large Title Bar, I'll post a CAB to re-enable the pop-up.

These are part of Rhodium TF3D, which will not be included. However, the ROM is compatible with it, so you can install it from CAB.

Wow, thanks for the help. It works now, although I don't think my previous way was as complicated. Maybe this can be included in the next ROM. Its useful to see everything you're typing.
One last question, what's the battery management software that the new ROM uses? In previous experience, it seemed to me that the custom ones burned more battery because they checked it more often. I uninstalled the battery management that came with 4.5 and now the default one always displays full battery.

Dialed:
"Cannot connect for an unknow reason. To check your connection settings...."
I have tried hard resets as wells as reflashing, cant seem to get the data to work, any suggestions?
I had this start happening to me today.
The cause was because I had installed the remove hidden proxy cab.
As soon as I put the restore hidden proxy cab back in, pIE started working again.

NATF,
Your TP ROM was based on the Asia 5.07. May I hv a copy of the ROM without the radio ?
Every flash of a cooked ROM require user to flash to a stock ROM (for stabilities). So, I thought having a copy of the stock ROM without the radio will: -
1. Minimise the flash time.
2. Less risk of spoiling the radio.
I would like to hv the Asia ROM because I reside in this part of the world.
A rapidshare link is most appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have a copy of the ROM without the radio, but let me see if I can find one. However, you do not need to flash a stock ROM inbetween custom ROMs. Just be sure to hard reset after the flash, and it's the same thing.

Thanks for the clarification NATF.
Well, I was coming from the Hermes. In the Hermes section, chef there always recommend flashing a stock ROM before flashing another cooked ROM from another chef.
It has something to do with the XIP structure being different from 1 cooked ROM to another. Thus, flashing to stock "reset" the XIP, thus improve stabilities.
I'm still new in Raphael section...so I thought the same principle apply here as well. :)

Just installed 4.6 this morning, and I'm loving it. I've tried many other cooked ROMs in the past, but there's just something nice about installing a ROM without too many experimental packages that makes me feel safe. :)
Anyways, I found a strange bug whenever I try to make an SMS message directly through the "Messages" tab in TouchFlo 3D. Below are the exact steps I take to replicate the problem:
1) I scrolled to the "Messages" tab and tapped on the "New Message" icon on the top right hand corner of the screen.
2) Flip out the keyboard so the phone goes to landscape mode. This seems to be the missing step, because if I stayed in portrait mode when inputting the name, the SMS sends correctly.
3) I then start typing someone's name under the "To:" field, and I select that person's name from the autocomplete menu so that the phone automatically fills the field with the information.
4) After filling in the message while staying in landscape mode, I tap "Send". After a few moments, I get an error "The message could not be sent. Please try again" or something similar.
5) When I go to the "Messages" Inbox by tapping "All Messages" in TouchFlo 3D, I find out what the problem is: instead of the phone sending the message to the contact's full phone number, it is trying to send it to some single digit, usually the number "1" in my experience.. However, there was an instance when "3" was used.
The odd thing is, if I send the message by going to the "Contacts" tab and selecting "Send text message" under that person's contact info, the phone does indeed use the correct phone number to send the text.
I hard resetted the phone twice before this, so I know this issue isn't due to that. The contacts were imported through PIM Backup, so I didn't install anything else to the ROM that would interfere with SMS. I've also tried searching the forums if anyone else is getting this odd bug, but nothing's coming up. At least, not with the search terms I'm using.
Is anyone else getting this problem? If not, I might as well just try reflashing my phone and hope for the best. But if so, I'd love to help to find a fix if there is one. :)

Confirmed as well. I can only assume that whatever HTC did to fix t9 in 20xxx, it broke again with 21042.

The only problem I've got is that I can't seem to get Beejive working. It won't activate, and gives a 503 service error when trying to log on to google talk. I've tried the cab from your download pack, the cab I've always used before, and the latest cab from Beejive... They all do the same thing - no connection, just errors. All other net based apps are working fine (Opera, IE, barcorama, TrackMe, TF3D weather, poutlook Gmail, etc). Any ideas what might be causing the connection errors?

Hi
First of all sorry for my english, is not my native language.
I am having a weird issue similar to this one but with my email. When i am typing the name in the TO: field it suggest me some matching both in the to: field and down in a black bar, if i pick the one in to: everything works fine but if i pick the one in the black bar it cant send the email and sometimes i have to soft reset. this has nothing to do with T9, i am not using it.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

2 questions:
1) I haven't updated my ROM since 3.xx and was wondering where the steps are to update the phone.
2) I don't want to retype all my information for my contacts, is there any program that would save my messages, contacts, settings etc. so that I don't have to redo everything later?
Thanks!

I loaded 4.6 this morning but have had problems with email inboxes.
Set up the sync with my exchange server and then set up Hotmail account via Windows Live like I have a bunch of times before.
On the main screen you can see the two inboxes including the total of unread emails but attempting to open the hotmail inbox never works. You can only see SMS and Exchange.
Sliding open the keyboard and hitting email does not show the hotmail account nor does it appear under settings for the accounts.
Actually - just did a hard rest and setup again and same problem - You have the 2 inboxes on the desktop but no way to get to the hotmail one configured through Windows Live
2nd edit - just for kicks, I installed the current version of Live 10.6.0042.1900 in a cab that you can download from M$ and it now works so it's something to do with how 10.6.0046.0800 is baked into the ROM that is causing the issue. But I am getting a Missing Information error from Live

here it is natf...but what i meant is that all of the threads would be updated with the new message, but now, only the first recipient's thread gets updated with the text message
The original Fuze ROM was OS 19971, if I remember correctly. Microsoft has changed a lot since then (early 2008 build), so it is quite possible that the newer builds no longer have the same functionality.

Although you are not using t9, the black bar is part of HTC's t9 package. This was an issue in earlier unreleased builds, and it now seems that the issue came back in an official build.
I am working on a fix, but do not have an ETA.

Hmm. i was having that problem when i tried out SEVERAL wm6.5 builds, it was a HORRIBLE nusance. But im sure that this issue has no relation to the same issue as we had previously. It is a new problem entierly that needs to get a fix.
Oh, and i gotta warn, if you are sending multiple texts using the T9 (without it crashing) from htc, i believe that it will not send any message at all.

NATF,
Is this is the wrong thread then I apologize and will move over the right place. So I downloaded the kitchen and I have begun to understand the layout and how I might tweak it to learn more about how you cooked this ROM up but for the life of me I can't seem to find something as simple as the default bookmarks you setup for Opera. I tried grepping through the entire tree, I un-cab'd what I thought would be likely OEM cab files. It is actually driving me a bit batty. Googling has not helped me. Any guidance would be appreciated even if it is to point out an answer which is right in front of me.
Thanks in advance,
Eric

Is there a separate cab for the new HTC in call recording or is it cooked into the 4.6 rom?

Same here,
I installed also the regular 4.6 version and the inbox of my Hotmail account is not appearing in Pocket Outlook.
