NATF,

Is this is the wrong thread then I apologize and will move over the right place. So I downloaded the kitchen and I have begun to understand the layout and how I might tweak it to learn more about how you cooked this ROM up but for the life of me I can't seem to find something as simple as the default bookmarks you setup for Opera. I tried grepping through the entire tree, I un-cab'd what I thought would be likely OEM cab files. It is actually driving me a bit batty. Googling has not helped me. Any guidance would be appreciated even if it is to point out an answer which is right in front of me.

Thanks in advance,

Eric

Opera6.adr, in OEM -> OperatorPKG. Just use a standard text editor.

Same here,

I installed also the regular 4.6 version and the inbox of my Hotmail account is not appearing in Pocket Outlook.

Cheers,

Frank

Well it seems that this new Windows Live is not working as expected, so I guess I'll have to roll it back in v4.7.

First of all, NATF, another great ROM. Flash, install apps, almost everything works great.

The only problem I've got is that I can't seem to get Beejive working. It won't activate, and gives a 503 service error when trying to log on to google talk. I've tried the cab from your download pack, the cab I've always used before, and the latest cab from Beejive... They all do the same thing - no connection, just errors. All other net based apps are working fine (Opera, IE, barcorama, TrackMe, TF3D weather, poutlook Gmail, etc). Any ideas what might be causing the connection errors?

Thanks again - yours are the only roms my Fuze has ever run. The stock AT&T rom never saw my SIM card - I flashed v4.4 as soon as I got my Fuze...

I am also having almost the same problem. It all worked in 4.5S. If I copy the setting from 4.5S, I keep the key, but it still won't connect. I get the 503 error.

Do any of you have BeeJive working on 4.6S?

NATF, do you have any ideas?

Stupid, stupid question.... I currently have 4.5 on my Fuze. I want to update to 4.6. However, after downloading the file and clicking on it to open it and put in password, ect., Window's asks me what program to open the file with. I am trying to do this from my work computer. My home did not ask this, it just opend to the password app. What program opens these files? Sorry if I sound stupid, but advice would be appreciated:confused:

aaaah think i'll stay with 4.5s for now.. i like the black bar with the number i want to send my text message to.
altho i went on a road trip to bury my grandmother 150 miles away, and half way there, my battery was low, so i figured that's why i had no internet.. but now i have a good battery back home and have no att data. it connects, but can't use it. and the MEdiaNet stuff is locked up. any advice? hard resetting soon.. it did work!

Thanks NATF!

Have you tried flashing back to 4.5S immediately after getting the error, to rule out 4.6 as the cause? Searching for the 503 Error (http://www.beejive.com/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=166) on Beejive's forums all point to their WM servers being down/acting goofy.

I have not. I will do so now and report back.

Edit:

BeeJive fails under 4.5S, so as you suggested, I think it is their servers.

Thank you Todd.

Hi. NATF, thanks for another great ROM. Really like those bits and pieces from Rhodium. I have one small problem. Manila music player won't route music through my A2DP headset. Music is playing through TP speaker or muted . Coreplayer plays perfectly through BT headset. Also, when I turn off the screen using the power button short press method, Manila playback stops.:confused: Anyone else seeing this?

EDIT: Also, after making a call through BT headset (Moto H9), and then disconnecting the headset, the phone will be muted. Nothing comes out of the speaker, e.g. the phone will not ring on subsequent calls.

This may be a simple 'switch' solution, but the answer has eluded me.
When the screen is dark [e.g., suspended]:
1. None of my scheduled 'pulls' on my 4 email accounts take place
2. None of my scheduled downloads of weather data/images for POCKETWEATHER take place
3. If GOOGLE MAPS and GPS TEST are running, the gps lock is lost
This did NOT happen with the stock ATT ROM. It started occuring after flashing 4.5S. I thought the problem might have been due to my restoring everything after the 4.5 flash with SPRITE BACKUP. So, after flashing to 4.6S, I reinstalled EVERYTHING [over 4 hours]. Still happening.
I can set the POWER/ADVANCED setting NOT to turn off the device and just have the backlight turned off after a set period, but this allows the screen to remain touch-sensitive, precluding putting the phone in a pocket, etc.
Again, this may be simple 'knobology', but I'm posting it here because it seemed to occur coincident with the 4.5/4.6 ROM flash.
Thank you in advance -- by the way, I disable TOUCHFLO and use the standard TODAY screen because I'm too klutzy to get TOUCHFLO to work properly.

Wow. Thank you for doing some research into the issue - I feel like an idiot for not thinking to check to see if it was Beejive's problem... Anyway, I gave Palringo a shot since I couldn't get Beejive working - it's not too bad, definitely gets the job done.

The only other issue I've encountered is my Media Net settings changing to isp.cingular, which breaks data connections. I did what another user suggested and added a new connection (wap.cingular) and made it the default - that should take care of that.

Thanks again for all the time & effort you put into this for all of us to enjoy.

I installed NATF 4.6 + Xboxmod Rhodium Manila V1.D + FuzeBerry II v03.28.09. Now, I'm trying to remove the top curtain on the main screen. I've downloaded the nocurtain.cab, it doesn't seem to work with this combo. It worked with NATF4.5 before. Any other way to remove it? It's so annoying.

So I just flashed the 4.6 ROM and was customizing it and noticed a couple problems. The keyboard automatically pops up in certain app (when going into edit contacts, for example). Was the auto popup keyboard disabled feature removed from this ROM? Can I fix it? Also, when pulling up menus from the softkeys they look like this (see attached pic). Are they supposed to have the black and white stripes on top an bottom of menu? Neither is a big deal, just thought I'd mention it. Otherwise, loving the new version:)

I took a few days and tried several of the WM6.5 ROMs and I must say the layout is awesome but the bugs are not (kind of like the beautiful blonde that can't...but don't get me wrong I love blondes). The biggest problem I had was with ActiveSync and Vista32 which for me was a deal killer in itself. Just loaded and configured NATF v4.6 and I must say it is good to be back. :D

YES...I set up Bluetooth headsets and tried again and same thing happened (connections Menu). I did soft reset and now have MAJOR PROBLEM. Today screen is black with HTC logo only (no date or anything) and soft reset is no help. I turned unit off and back on and it is OK again...strange. I am so glad I did not need hard reset.

Since you changed the version of Manila installed, I would suggest checking that that thread to see if a new Remove Curtains CAB is required. I just tested the old CAB on the "stock" Manila, and it works as expected.

So I just flashed the 4.6 ROM and was customizing it and noticed a couple problems. The keyboard automatically pops up in certain app (when going into edit contacts, for example). The regedit to disable the keyboard popup has been gone for several versions. Also, I'm not seeing it popup on me unless I tap the icon for it.

The stripes are not normal, so I have to assume they are related to your custom TF3D theme.

The Rhodium Comm Manager works a little different.

To enable/disable Bluetooth: Tap the On/Off slider. Tapping the area where it says Bluetooth will take you into the setup menu for pairing a device.

Anyone having Sync issues? I can't sync with my windows mobile device center (vista-32). Is there a fix for this yet?

Thanks!

YES...I found that the Vista SP1 Update caused a corruption of the Device Center and USB drivers so they are not recognized. The fix is to uninstall the Center and the Center Update and then reinstall so it reconfigures everything including drivers (takes 10 minutes)…I did this and it works fast and without problems.

Go onto Microsoft website and search support center for Article below (site checks for valid copy of Vista to download).

The Rhodium Menu Enhancements have a specific font coded into them. They will not change like the standard WM menus would.

Try changing the FontFace key shown below to your custom font.

I don't know that I'll include this as default, but here's a CAB with a pre-configured file. :)

Thanks for the CAB. It's gonna be a great help.

One last question, what's the battery management software that the new ROM uses? In previous experience, it seemed to me that the custom ones burned more battery because they checked it more often. I uninstalled the battery management that came with 4.5 and now the default one always displays full battery. If I can't use the default can I get the cab file to reinstall the battery monitor?

Thanks again!!

I am not sure if it is because I swapped the dialer to XDA_Diamond_Dialer_2.03.cab and then applied the FInixNOverBatteryIconsOnly.cab or if the newer roms just use a little more juice but I have noticed more drain than with v4.2S. Any ideas?

I add the cities as I did before with 4.5 ... Turn off TF3D, run Weather Master, add my city and its zip code, restart TF3D and add my custom city to the weather tab.

When the TF3D tries to download the weather data, I either get a "No weather data avaliable" message at the bottom of the weather tab, or I get a pop up message saying there is no data connection avaliable. I know I have a data connection so its not that.

Hi NATF,

Did you ever update the 4.5 ROM to include the correct keypad.dll file? My Fuze seemed quite a bit faster/less sluggish with 4.5 vs 4.6, and I liked the smaller menus and no black bar issue. But I like the ability to bind the keyboard keys in 4.6.

hlm818
16th April 2009, 04:13 PM
So I figured out it was a higlight color cab that was making the menus have black and white stripes. Unistalled and it's fixed. But now I have a new problem. I don't think Mobilematt's fuzeberry theme is compatible with this ROM. Once I put it on, it slowed the ROM down to where everything was very jerky and took a really long time to load. Going to unistall and see if that helps.
Also, wondering if anyone else is having a problem with the phone. My husband called me yesterday and my phone screen didn't come up. I had no slide to answer, it just stayed on my home screen. The phone was ringing and if I hit the phone key on the pad it answered. When we hung up, then the phone screen came up. Also, if I hit the phone button, it won't pull my phone screen up. When in the people tab, whether I use the call button on the screen or the hard key, it calls the person, but the phone doesn't come up. Kind of annoying because I have no way to delete my voicemails or go through menus without a keypad  Seemed a little wierd to me. Any ideas??

I had some trouble finding the old link to the 4.5 kitchen, but I found it with some Google caches :)

It looks like NATF removed the problematic keypad.dll file in the kitchen (I found no such file in OEMDrivers), but when I try to build the ROM, the last step fails (using HTCRT.EXE to generate the NBH file). I get "Access is Denied" (I run command prompt as administrator in Vista). The file is also flagged to contain a virus with AVG. I've tried pretty much everything; disabling AVG, reloading the HTCRT.EXE file from the RAR. I can't run the file (or even copy it for that matter). I have full control as an administrator, so I don't see why I can't run the program. Maybe it will work on an XP machine. Is there another way to generate the NBH for flashing?

Sounds exactly like that file is being blocked by AVG; that's what i experienced until I added an exception for the kitchen's /tools directory (it's not a virus, avg is misidentifying it for some reason)

You can name the NBH stevedogg.nbh, if you want to. As long as RaphaelWrapper finds an NBH file in the same directory, it will flash it to the phone. The only reason I name the file RAPHIMG is because that is the required name to flash from SD card.

I had the "no weather data available" problem at first. I managed to fix it by first selecting a standard city in the weather tab, then going into weather master and adding the custom city + zip code, then going to the tab on the left in weather master ("Current" I think?) and deleting the standard city. It might have just been fiddling around with the weather tab city list that fixed it somehow.

I have full control as an administrator, so I don't see why I can't run the program. Maybe it will work on an XP machine. Is there another way to generate the NBH for flashing?Sounds exactly like that file is being blocked by AVG; that's what i experienced until I added an exception for the kitchen's /tools directory (it's not a virus, avg is misidentifying it for some reason)Thanks for the tip. I actually got it to work on an XP machine that was not running AVG . So how do you flash the ROM? The Tools folder does not contain the RaphaelCustomRUU.exe file referenced in the CMD. Do I just run RaphaelWrapper.exe with the ruu_signed.nbh file in the same directory? Or do I need to rename the nbh to match NATF's packaged ROM and using that executable? Sorry for the nubness.

If you disable the UC protection in vista you should be able to cook the rom. That tends to be an obstacle many people run into.

Great ROM NATF, thanks!

I have been using it for a couple of days now and I can't get custom cities to work in the weather tab.

Anyone else have this issue?

Show us the data for the city you have added.

4.6 does have the correct keypad.dll file.

You can name the NBH stevedogg.nbh, if you want to. As long as RaphaelWrapper finds an NBH file in the same directory, it will flash it to the phone. The only reason I name the file RAPHIMG is because that is the required name to flash from SD card.

Thanks. I was trying to rebuild 4.5 to enable hardware keyboard binding (in an earlier post you mentioned this was caused by keypad.dll in the OEMDrivers folder when it shouldn't have been). I downloaded the 4.5 kitchen (which now does not have keypad.dll in OEMDrivers but only in PTTMod) and built the ROM. Does this log output look normal?

It didn't work. The only instance of keypad.dll was in the PTTMod folder, so I left things alone and re-cooked. Then I go into Settings => Buttons and change Web from Internet Explorer to Opera Browser. Even after rebooting, the web button still opens IE :(

I've been intensively beating up on v4.6S-Fuze since it was posted...I have found a few issues I'm not seeing reported here yet. So here goes...

#1
We'll start with the keyboard, since that's already been mentioned:

I will simply say that the slow keyboard responsiveness (and related crap) is far more annoying than PTTMod not working. I send/receive over 7000 SMS messages a month (I use SMS to dispatch and communicate with my staff, and generally prefer SMS to talking on the phone.) and I hate typing the entire message out only to have to wait another 5-10 seconds for the rest of the message to appear on the screen.

#2
I'm curious if anyone else is having this issue, which would likely remain unnoticed by virtually everyone...but I couldn't help but notice that my phone makes a sound everytime it connects the cellular data. I went into Settings>Personal>Sounds and Notifications, and chose the "Connection Established" event to find that it is loading the options for "Phone: Incoming Call" in place of the usual event notification options. This is the only event this is happening for. I even tried changing the settings for "Connection Established" to find that it actually changes the "Phone: Incoming Call" options!

I haven't checked it immediately after a hard reset because my internet at home is currently screwed up so my only option for getting online right now is to tether. (I did the initial ROM flash to v4.6 while at work.) But I figured if no one else sees phone ring options in place of "Connection Established" sound event options, then I'd begin ripping apart apps for the cause...although, I'm running the exact same software on v4.6 that I ran on v4.5 without issue.

#3
Speaking of slow...I tend to benchmark file system access speeds by seeing how long Resco Explorer 2008 takes to load the \Windows folder. In v4.5, this took about 2 seconds...in v4.6, this is taking 10-15 seconds! I haven't seen FSys access speeds this slow in quite a long while!

#4
The new Rhodium Notification popups don't fair so well in landscape. The next time you get a new notification, slide open and then pull up the notification...you will see it cuts off about 1/4 of the notification window. I consider this a minor issue as I don't use popup notifications...but I thought I'd report the find anyway. It's just a carry over from WVGA (which I'm guessing is where the cab came from ;)).

#5
Something about this version's outlook is making it nuttier than a fruitcake! First off, when someone sends me more than two or more SMS messages back-to-back while I'm in the SMS thread, the first one will sound and display, the remainder sound off but do not display at all until I exit the thread. It seems like as soon as it has a "new" message displayed in the thread, it stops dynamically updating the thread with new messages as they come in, until that message is marked "read" either by scrolling up to the new message or by closing and reopening the thread. There have also been a few times where I'll be in the middle of composing a new message or a reply to SMS or email and poutlook will just crash and close.

----------

All in all, I'd say that v4.5 (and the associated WM build) runs with far less glitches than the v4.6 build does. NATF, why did you decide to change OS builds again?

Since I'm too busy as of late to spend a lot of time bug hunting, I'm going to perform a hard reset to check on the existence of any of the above with a fresh start, then revert to v4.5 and restore from my backup for now.

Stevedogg, any chance I can get my hands on a copy of your nbh? Thanks!

NATF, why did you decide to change OS builds again?
My guess would be so that he could use the Rhodium Notifications Manager and Menu enhancements. They won't run on the windows build in his 4.5 rom.

For me, there isn't enough stuff in 4.6 to bother spending 5 hours setting up my phone again. My next flash will be when the new TF3D gets integrated in to a his rom.
I love 4.5 NATF, thanks agian for all your hard work and many many many hours spent on this kick ass rom! :)

NATF:
it seems i need to be able to adjust my MEdiaNet settings.
i am unable to flash to v4.6
i have 4.5s and they are "preconfigured and locked"
i have hard reset 3 times, and after i do, everything is great.. i dont even install a cab.. i just use the phone.. and on the last hard reset, within the next few hours, i lost the ability to MMS, shortly followed by no data connection, no matter what. and the connection settings are locked! i don't even know if i adjusted them, if it would matter. it just seems the next place to attempt.
it does connect (you see the icon doing the arrows, then they connect)
it immediately fails to transmit data and sends and error (IE, opera, weather, gmail, MMS)
i have begun to peel off .cabs, but was unsuccessful with even the first one; NATF ATT skin something.. remember i haven't installed any
i'm virtually dead in the water.. i don' understand; for week or 2 everything was fantastic! all my .cabs installed .. then i went out of town, and it hasn't worked right since.

After i hard reset, within hours i lose the ability to use DATA

edit1: maybe it's a leaked radio conspiracy, now attempting to install previous radio - same problem with radio 1.01.25.16

edit2: ran thru 2 or 3 radios; nothing, so i hard reset.. hey guess what? weather updated in a few seconds. sent myself an MMS photo. so now i am reflashin the leaked radio, and see how long hard reset number four lasts- and the answer is.. not long. i sent myself a picture, set up gmail again and downloaded email, checked weather. then i set up a static ip address for my home wifi, and DNS and ALT, and connect, and check my weather, email, etc.. i turn wifi off, and then try and it's done.. it won't go back. no photos, weather. even if i undo the static ip stuff, still nothin. i'll soft reboot now; here's a pic i took of some funny E icon that could be related?

Well it seems that this new Windows Live is not working as expected, so I guess I'll have to roll it back in v4.7.

I no longer include the special version of rilphone.dll that is needed for Rogers Name Display to work. However, the ROM is patched to allow you to install it from CAB. There is a link in the Rogers thread to a CAB file that will install the file for you.

As far as editing MEdia Net settings, they are not locked down in 4.6, and I posted a registry edit to unlock them in 4.5. Other then that, all of your issues can be chocked up to the radio.

I have no issues using the radio from the leaked 5.08 AT&T ROM.

I have not experience poor battery drain since v4.0. At this point, I wish I would so that I could help figure it out for the small group of people who are reporting it... but I can't reproduce it.

Windows Live is cooked in as a package. The best thing I can suggest is to download the kitchen, and recook the ROM without that package.

If that's the only thing you change, then the cooking process is 7-click and done.

The slow keyboard response it due to HTC once again breaking t9 in this OS build. If you click the paperclip for this thread, you can find my old CAB to disable t9. I just tested it, and it made the keyboard much more usable. Nevermind, I found it locally, so I'll attach it again. Also be sure to turn off the options in the GUI.

The reason for changing builds was so that a lot of the newer software could be included. But what it ultimately comes down to is this: I build my ROMs for stability above ALL else. So if an OS builds quirks outweigh the benefits, then it will be gone faster then leftover pizza in a conference room.

Sorry about that. I've been so busy lately that I hadn't had a chance to post "bite-size" pieces, so my bug list continued to grow... lol
The slow keyboard response it due to HTC once again breaking t9 in this OS build. <snip>
Ah, yes...I had forgotten all about the xt9 disable cab. I actually have it in my massive NATF cab collection on my sd card. (I'm a bit of a data "pack-rat." lol)
Haven't seen this at all. <snip>
Ah...I knew I forgot something last night! I meant to edit my last post to mention that the connection notification issue appears to have been caused by the Beta 5 build of Flexilis...the issue appears to have been resolved in Beta 6.
<snip>But the rest of the ROM has felt very snappy to me... that's why I went with it.
I guess I have a stricter definition of "snappy." lol I estimate that the overall "speed" of v4.6 is about 10% slower than v4.5. I wonder what is responsible for the FS access speed issues we've had in this and several other HTC OS builds of the past...as soon as I find some time, I will download both the v4.5 and v4.6 kitchens and compare file system drivers to see if there are any key differences that could be causing the lag.
Not seeing the SMS issue either.<snip>
To see the SMS issue, you need to receive several SMSs from the same number back to back in a very short period of time (like I often do when using SMS AIM) while the SMS thread is open. It appears similar to the "SMS marked read" issue we had a while back...the code that controls the thread window isn't updating the window on each SMS event like it should.
<snip>But what it ultimately comes down to is this: I build my ROMs for stability above ALL else.<snip>
Oh, but of course! That's why I love your ROMs...I'm a stability junkie myself. Which is why I post so much detail when reporting these issues...I've gotta have my stability! :D

I don't know what else to say but Device Center is now working consistently for me after a year of connection problems. You have to be sure to uninstall both the Device Center and the DC Update before re-install. I also found it best before plugging in to be sure no programs are running except Device Center. C:\Program Files\mwkit\Tools>Cab2OEM "c:\Documents an
d Settings\User\Desktop\Fuze Files\NATF xt9 Disable.cab" "..\Packages\Package - NATF Font Fix"

Cab2OEM converter version 0.0.0.4

Extracting 'c:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\Fuze Files\NATF xt9 Di
sable.cab' to '..\Packages\Package - NATF Font Fix'
Column 'translation' does not belong to table characteristic. <odd message>

I just end up with a _setup.xml and an empty initflashfiles.

Any guidance would be appreciated

Eric

Anyone here using S2U2 with the latest ROM? I am beginning to think that it is causing my battery drain and if so what would you suggest to use instead to lock the phone...?

S2U2 1.62 was one of the first apps I installed after flashing 4.6. The only time I had a battery drain issue was when Palringo was installed (while Beejive's servers were misbehaving). After I removed Palringo, my battery usage is back to normal. Without accurately measuring anything, I'd say that 4.6 goes through the battery a little quicker than 4.5 did, but not too bad.

S2U2 does not seem to cause any battery drain issues for me. Overnight, checking email every 30 minutes, I only drop a couple percent.

I guess I'll just fiddle with the settings some more.... S2U2 1.62 was not an issue with the 4.2S ROM. Only thing I can think of is that I imported the registry settings of the S2U2 key so I didn't have to fiddle with the settings.

I don't know what else to say but Device Center is now working consistently for me after a year of connection problems. You have to be sure to uninstall both the Device Center and the DC Update before re-install. I also found it best before plugging in to be sure no programs are running except Device Center. You can also try re-starting computer just before Sync (which is what I had to do before reinstall).

Actually, it was my USB port. Once I moved my phone to a rear (motherboard) USB port, everything started working. I didn't think to try that at first because Disk Mode worked great.

well so far, i found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494632&highlight=radios that thread and installed said cab and it seems things are working.
EDIT: i have found if i assign a static ip address for my house wifi, and use it, it works.. and i can turn that off and then use my data connection to connect to weather, gmail.. but an hour later, or maybe after a soft reset, i can't use the data. if i go back to auto assign IP, data works again. anyone know how to fix that? it appears to be the cause

is the nk.exe patched natf? on this 4.5s?

what is natf phonecanvas?

NK.exe is patched on 4.5 and 4.6.

NATF PhoneCanvas is the HTC dialer. I install it from CAB in case people want to uninstall it.

Just follow the directions in Post #2 for how to uninstall the dialer. You have to follow an exact process, and it takes a few minutes.

Thanks for the ROM, great job.

I just flashed my phone and noticed there are a few things missing. Such as the "Send Receive" option in the email menus and the advanced tab in the phone settings, which allows me to send a pre-set txt message to reject calls. I installed the Fuze lite verison V4.6.

Is there anyway to get these features back?

Thanks

I haven't noticed any missing menu options. Most of the menus now need to be scrolled to get to all the options. Look for a small triangle arrow at the bottom (and sometimes the top) of the menus - tap it, and the menu will scroll.

I am using the Standard ROM. In order to get the Advanced Phone menu, you need to install the Phone Canvas dialer in Post #4. You need Manila to get the first Send/Receive shown, but the second should be available without it.

When BuildOS loads the kitchen files, all of the Packages are checked by default. Just uncheck the 2 that refer to Rhodium Notification Enhancement and Rhodium Menu Enhancements.

The kitchen is distributed as Standard. You can further customize your own Lite ROM by removing whatever additional files you want. Since everybody has a different definition of "Lite," I figured I would allow you to create it yourself.

Try flashing back to a stock ROM, and then load 4.6 again. I'm certain this is an isolated issue, or else I would have had to pull the ROM already. (Over 900 downloads...)

I know this is in the middle of 4.6 discussion, but I had to flash back to 4.5 due to a huge lag on 4.6, maybe from the software I install. I was wondering if there was anyway to get the screen to come up with the large icons in TF3D when using the hardware buttons to scroll between tabs? For some reason it has disappeared. It just goes to the next tab without showing the large icons in the middle of screen. Any ideas? Don't want to hard reset or reflash....:(

Microsoft Voice Commander. It's part of Windows Mobile. Check the Voice Commander setting in Windows Mobile. There is a setting in there to play notifications out of the speaker. Yes. You need to wait longer. The uninstall process can take between 3-7 minutes. In order to speed it up, temporarily disable all power saving, and plug the phone in.

I'd love to find a solution to this - I've had this problem literally for years. Firstly on my Universal, and latterly on my Touch Pro, currently running NATF's v4.5, so I don't think it's something introduced in the 4.6 build. If it is related to MSVC (which is possible, as I've had it as long as I remember) then it could be to do with the version I use (v1.60.4622 UK Version). I just thought that was what WM did, I didn't realise I could get it to stop playing my text tone while I was on the phone.

Cheers,

Steve.

Anyone having issues with the message waiting indicator not resetting? Using 4.5S, *not* using youmail (never have), and this is a recent development. Most recently occurred after a missed call without a VM left and a soft reset gets rid of it.

ya i know, but like i said when i had the att rom, it never did that, i mean like i could have a chorus off one song, and used it as my message alert, and if im on the phone, it will make a bing type of noise if i had received a message. At first i thought it was the radio i was using, then i flashed that, then i thought it was the rom i was using, so i had flashed to a different rom, to see will it changed, and every rom i had flashed it too, did it. so therefore im back at square one.....

NATF, I'd like to see the new touchflo 3d (whenever the final version is ported over), along with all the nice rhodium stuff. I know 4.6 has a lot of rhodium stuff in it, but I'd really like to see the new touchflo when ever it comes around.

Other then that, I'm not sure how to guide you aside from telling you WHY I picked your ROM in the first place. I did a ton of reading before deciding.

I'm on AT&T and you seemed to offer what is basically the AT&T rom with all of AT&T's bloat removed from it. Your rom is super fast (I can't believe how fast 4.5 parses the /Windows/ directory, less then 2 seconds... I have NEVER seen that before), and super stable. I appareciate an AT&T rom that is actually nice, and where I didn't have to go in and set up all the settings and things for AT&T, you can flash it, and everything works right away. All that you have to do after a flash is install your programs.

Previous roms (Speaking of Hermes stuff now since that was my last phone), it seemed like you'd flash it, then spend 2 hours getting all the AT&T settings entered for Internet, voicemail, MMS, text, dialing, etc... It was a real pain in the butt to flash a rom.
Your's is a snap :)

I seem to remember reading about a Start Menu fix for either TF3D2, or Fuzeberry... can't remember where though. Are you running the latest version of Fuzeberry? The March 28th release mentions a fix for the HTC Start Menu, which is used in my ROMs.

Yes, I did. I used the latest version of Fuzeberry and TF3D2, downloaded yesterday. It is not working, though.

NATF, I apologize if this has already been reported, but I don't see that many others use ICR with your v4 ROM series.

For business reasons ICR is a deal breaker for me... however so is NATF's ROMs. :)

In my previous setup I had NATF v4.4S (the proper slider dialer is included), then I install the attached cab for ICR functionality (which may also include the dialer, but I short-sightedly renamed the file when I found one that worked for me), then VITO AudioNotes for auto recording to medium mp3 format on the storage card. It's records every conversation automatically and flawlessly. I just prune when I sync and all important conversations are archived.

To kick things off you *MUST* make that first call, and use the menu to "Start recording". This creates a database (I forget the explicit details of it, but SKTracker spots it) that must exist for HTC's ICR to work properly regardless of the recording software you use.

When ICR was cooked into v4.6 using Da_G's cool new kitchen I was enjoying the idea of dumping the cab and just using the one in the ROM. However, the "Start recording" menu item is missing from the menu in the dialer... so I still have to install the attached cab to get things kicked off and get that database created for ICR to do it's thing.

Two questions/points:

1) NATF, can you see what's missing in the ROM for that "Start recording" menu item. I've attached the cab for two reasons: first, so you can hopefully use it to determine how to get that menu item added to any v4.6+ versions that include ICR; and second, so others can get ICR working using your v4 ROMS in the meantime.

2) Assuming I can dig up the specific details of this database that's created by the kickoff "Start recording" step: is there a way to extract it from my Raphael and somehow include it in a Raphael kitchen? It would be great if we can have a ROM kitchen that altogether eliminates any manual kick starting to get ICR working.

Thanks in advance for any feedback,

Hello Folks,
I’ve had the HTC Fuze since February and have done several ROM updates. I’ve followed the instructions that have been laid out for flashing your roms
(Unlocking the rom, Installing HardSPL, I’ve removed the memory and sim cards before every flash (except for one flash cause I forgot)).
I’ve had no issues with doing the actual flash. The problem I have is the phone will freeze and I have to soft reset. Sometimes it comes back. Other times it hangs on the boot NATF screen. I then have to perform a Hard Reset, go through the restore and setup options and use Sprite backup to recover to my previous backup. I’ve been doing a scheduled backup every morning since this has started happening. On other occasions (today), it hung, I soft reset and when it booted, it thought it was the first boot and proceeded to setup the phone for “First Use”.

I’ve gone from the AT&T stock rom to NATF 4.4 to the Leaked test version of the new AT&T rom (buggy) back to NATF 4.4. Heard about Fuzeberry 6.5 and wanted to see about the new features the Mobile 6.5 had (very pretty but very, very buggy). Went back to the NATF 4.4 version and upgraded this week to NATF 4.5. My big freezing problems started with the leaked AT&T rom and have plagued me since. I suspect it’s not the ROMs that are the culprit, but one or some of the apps I have installed. Please take a look at the list and if anyone knows of problems similar to what I am having with the HTC Fuze associated with any of these APPS, please advice. Thanks for the help.

Other than the standard CABS that come with the NATF roms, this is what I’ve installed:
Advanced Configuration Tool v3.3.cab
BEJEWELED.cab
ClearTemp-v1[1].2.1.CAB
Diamond TF3D Config v0.6.7.cab
Diamond Tweak 0.5.3_English.cab
Fix Action Screen 9 Btn BT Discoverable.cab
GODZSON -Hall Feica Font TF3D.cab
HHCv10Final.CAB
HTC-Home-Plugin-v1-0.cab
JETCET5_PPC_v5.0.904.10.cab
lpaso SmartLyrics2.CAB
MobileMgrForNetflix_1_0_0_44.cab
Neon Orange Action Screen 9 Btn Diamond v6 EN.cab
No Sleep Raphael.cab
NoRingtoneLimit.cab
nueLight-3050-v3.0-cab.cab
PROBEX-blue-vga.cab
sdkcerts.cab
SensorScroll-0_6.CAB
Sprite_Backup_v6.2.1.CAB
tcmdpocketarm.cab
TF7X-WHITE-S2A-Theme.cab
WHITE-TF7X-PROBEX.cab

I have just turned off the TouchFLO3D feature and am running HTC Home to see if this could be the problem. Possibly the PROBEX theme. Thanks again for any help.

NATF, I have an update about my Fuze. I ended up neglecting fuzeberry 2 and used only TF3D2. Everything worked fine until when I transferred my sms to my Fuze using Jeyo Mobile Extender. Then, my phone automatically hard-resetted a few times. I am not sure what the problem is. Should I try to flash the rom again? I am using your latest version rom.

Thank you.

As I start dabbling in WM6.5, I've come to the conclusion that I am practically out of ideas for WM6.1. I need your ideas on what direction my ROMs should go in next.Greetings NATF!

I currently have your v4.6 installed, and I'm loving it, so I would agree, you are practically done with things that you could do to update the 4.x series.

The only other update that I could humbly request right now would be the full Rhodium TF3D port (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493531) by XBMOD, or build a new Extra Lite version that excludes TF3D entirely so the user can manually install the Full Rhodium TF3D Port themselves.

If we can get a stable version of WM6.1 working with the Full Rhodium Port, then I would then suggest upgrading the OS to 6.5, which ought to open up a whole new realm of challenges for you, possibly as the future 5.x series? :)

I've used your 6.1 ROMs since i got my Fuze back in December, and always enjoyed TF3D, but WM6.5 was a nice look and feel changet o TF3D, so i've got a hard time coming back for 4.6 after using 21500 for a couple weeks. the experience is very different on the home and start screens, but still needs a few CHome tweaks to get all the usability back that TF3D had to offer. So I'd like to see a tweaked 6.5 with Rhodium Manilla as an option. I tried the Energy ROM but it wasn't the same, and I personally don't like the Fuzeberry icons everywhere. your motto as i see it, has always been to keep it simple and solid. tweak it for at&t, add some of the new enhancements like titanium weather, opera bookmarks, contacts, programs, etc. group some of the start menu items so it's not a mile long. update the basic apps to some of the HTC ones, etc. i haven't seen a ton of other enhancements yet that are out for WM6.5 but maybe there's a skin you prefer over the default that'd work nicely.

my current 6.5 is 21500 with a couple of the enhancements, it's nice, but it's already lost the wow factor...

anyone else have ideas?

Quick question, I just flashed to NATF v4.6 from Mystic 6.5. It seems snappy which is nice, but I am on Rogers, and can't seem to get my data working. I put in all the stuff I was supposed to (internet.com, wapuser1, wap, etc) but I still get an error when trying to use data. On my last ROM there was a connection wizard that automatically set up my data, does v4.6 have that? Or does anyone have any ideas? I'm gonna keep messing with it, but help would be greatly appreciated

figured it out and got everything working, data, email, weather, opera, everything, yay :). Oh, and killer ROM by the way, I've only been on it for an hour or so, but it seems muuuch more stable then the winmo 6.5 ROM that I was running, and it's nice and quick too. My only question is the black is a little dull and I wanna spice it up with a colorful theme, will any 6.1 theme work? Anybody suggest a good site with 6.1 themes?

I would checkout MobileMatt's Fuzeberry (http://www.fuzeberry.com) theme. I believe that the Mystic 6.5 ROM is running it by default.

The only things I can envision getting me off 4.5, my current favorite & fastest version, would be:

1) GOOGLE GEARS SUPPORT (so I can use iAnki - http://ichi2.net/anki/download/index.html ... this is a huge one for me)
2) Getting back the ability to drag-select multiple emails in pOutlook rather than having to use "Select Below" or "Select All" (although from what i've read, this isn't possible...)
3) Native support for BOTH Chinese + Japanese (currently using cestar, which sucks, but is the only thing I could find that does both at the same time)
4) Faster

1) Gears works with the new beta of opera, you can download it on Opera's site.
3)Why don't you like CE STAR? I love it. Also, I have install with Sashimi, so I don't have to go through a big hassle everytime.

1) Yep, I tried it out but was having loads of problems with it - among many other things, I was no longer able to use the scrollwheel to zoom for some reason (which I use extensively)...so I figured I'd hang tight and await NATF's expertise in making everything imaginable work without a hitch :)

2) First, I hate that you can't swap between languages with the keyboard - like on the windows IME, where you can cycle with alt+shift (the only way with CESTAR is to get out the stylus poke at the on-screen keyboard). But MUCH more importantly, I just find it to be very, very slow. Sometimes when using a bluetooth keyboard, I'll type a few sentences full-speed then glance at the screen and realize that it's still struggling to output the first word or two. Waiting for programs to load, etc is one thing - but waiting just to enter text seems a bit nuts.

Yes. You need to wait longer. The uninstall process can take between 3-7 minutes. In order to speed it up, temporarily disable all power saving, and plug the phone in.

i did that, and it eventually said it couldnt remove it all.. then it asked me would i like to just remove it from the programs list.

i didn't remove it, i soft reset (Still airplane mode,) and tried again and it does the same thing.. any ideas?

I am not able to receive MMS messages, but I can receive SMS messages just fine.

I don't know if this is an issue with NATF (4.6) or other settings.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I saw this in 4.4S, too.

I run a backup every night @ 2am to the storage card and have it stop all processes & reboot. In the morning I would see the OS splash. The alarms (screen shows) & email/sms/etc notifications (sounds only) & incoming calls (dialer screen) would still work, but all you get is the splash screen initially. After a dialer or alarm screen the OS wouldn't repaint the screen at all. Most times I would just reset with the reset button to kick it back into action before anything would happen that would need a repaint, however.

Still do this backup scheme with 4.6S, too, and I get the same splash screen lockup, but far less frequently now.

I assumed it was something that I had installed or over-tweaked, but if you've seen this with a RAW install, maybe not.

As a workaround, if you reset it with the reset button a few times it wakes up. A hard-reset wasn't necessary for me.
If this works for you, then at least you can get a backup done before the next flash.

Please keep in mind I'm definitely new to this stuff so what might seem as almost common sense to some of you is still a bit confusing to me.

I have the NATF v4.5 right now with the 1.02.25.32 radio. Being a college student it has worked just fine for the past few weeks. I recently went home from school to find out the damn phone barely works at home (I haven't even tried using any type of GPS service yet, I guess because I need to download some type of GPS application in order to do so? What worries me most is the fact that I can't even send/receive calls or texts even in my own house)!!! So I'm wondering if this radio (1.02.25.32) is the same one that came with the phone originally (prior to me flashing the NATF ROM)??? I got the phone in November and hadn't touched it up until a few weeks ago.

Also, I guess I'd be willing to try another radio granted I'm able to get it on the phone and working properly. Is it recommended that I flash the new version (4.6) of this NATF ROM first, then pick a radio to flash? Also, if anyone can recommend which radio to use rather than the 1.02.25.32 I'd love to know.

Sorry if you feel I should have done a more thorough search. If that's the case ignore my post. If anyone would care to help me out I'd very much appreciate it though! Thanks!

I believe that 1.02.25.32 is the original radio that came with your phone. NATF v4.5 has the rilphone.dll file for the 1.12.25.19 radio. The best option is to update your radio to the new 1.12.25.19 version. Most people have reported a lot of success with this version, I know it works well for me personally. I'm hoping for a few more suggestions with regards to what should be added/changed in 4.7, and I will hopefully have something ready by the end of the weekend.

I'm also prepping to release a WM6.5 ROM by the end of the weekend also, but since I'm on call for work this week, got called in last night, and have already been given a heads up to expect a page tonight, I can't guarantee a weekend release of this one... ahhh the glory of overtime pay!

Last weekend, without known reason, I lost the ability to conntect using IE or OPERA. My 'pulled' emails for 4 accounts [two email servers] still work. Haven't been able to reconnect even after multiple soft resets. Don't use TF3D, just regular.

EDIT-- OK. After four successive soft resets I regained IE & OPERA connectivity; my POCKETWEATHER data/image downloads still no go.

EDIT #2 --. I used SK TOOLS to find a bunch of what that program considered "invalid registry entries." Accepted SK TOOLS suggestion to 'delete' them, then soft reset.
VOILA. Now POCKETWEATHER also able to download data/images.

Sorry for the bother.

Sorry if you feel I should have done a more thorough search. If that's the case ignore my post. If anyone would care to help me out I'd very much appreciate it though! Thanks!

You don't say what part of the world you're in or what carrier your using, but I've had outstanding service in midwest USA with my signature's combination. Just flash radio first, then natf's rom. My phone still quits when it is out of coverage, but it's quick to recover when back in coverage. When consuming data (gmaps mobile) I'll see the icon go from H, to Edge, then GPRS before it looses data. Restarting gmaps mobile when back in coverage starts the process again. The only true, consistant complaints I've had are with att's poor coverage. Hard to blame that on a rom!!

The only reason I recommend radio flash first is that is the way I did it.

I had a previous experience with a theme I was using, I switched from the theme to the default and it worked. Are you using any sort of theme?

Nope, just a standard NATF install.. no themes, no other software installed.

I occasionally experience the same error message when retrieving mms messages. A soft reset fixes it every time for me. Not sure what the root cause is, but since it only happens about 1x per week, I just do the soft reset.

This isn't an issue specific to 4.6, as I have used several versions of NATF on my Fuze so far. However, I'm getting weird screen discolorations quite often. At first, I thought it was just the screen protector I am using, but I took that off to make sure, and I still get it.

Typically, I get a red or blue tinge to the screen and can't figure out what is causing it. Any ideas?

I don't remember seeing this issue on any other ROM I've used, so not sure what it might be about this firmware would be different.

If your running TF3D, then that is your cause. Since TF3D displays reminders on the Home tab, it automatically unchecks the pop-up option.

This is not entirely true. For the first week or so after i flashed 4.6 it was working fine. Then one day it just stopped. Maybe it was a fluke, but this build seemed to keep it around much longer this time.

I'm not sure how much this has to do with the base rom vs. the radio firmware, but the main issue that I have with 4.6 (and pretty much the _only_ issue) is that I can't get a 3G connection anymore. I've tried all of the major radio releases to no avail. I'm in the SF Bay Area.

If you are usg 4.6 rom then you will get an H as the data symbol when your in 3G area. Its actually better.

Got my phone this week and installed this 4.6 as my first ROM. Pretty easy stuff with the NOOB directions. But I have a few questions, not sure if it makes a difference from stock ROM or not.

1. Is there a way in the contact list to just show SIM or Phone contacts?
2. Do I have to have a specific version of Outlook to sync? I'm running OfficeXP and ActiveSync had the Contacts option grey'd out.
3. With each new ROM you start from scratch, what is the easiest way to reload your "People" page with pictures and contacts for Favorites?
4. I added Skyfire and a Facebook app, but they show up in the main program list, how can I move them to the folders "Online" and "Multimedia"

I didn't see these in the wiki, just point me in the right direction, and I'll read up.
Thanks alot for the help.

You can use Advanced Configuration tool or Diamond Tweak application to take care of #1.
#2 - If you're running Windows Vista you can't use Active sync. You need Windows Mobile Device Center. You can get that from the Microsoft site microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/.

For number 3, your contact and email information is stored in a filed called "pim.vol" in the root directory on your device. If you backup your data before hand (like with sprite), you can restore your previous version mail/contact/messages stuff.

#4 - What I do is connect my phone to the PC using the Windows Mobile Device Center. From there my phone shows up under the My Computer as a removable drive (both the device and the storage card). I can then change directories into the Device ] Windows ] Start Menu ] Programs and rearrange the applications to my liking by moving them to other folders or creating new folders of my choosing.

Another cool tool you may want to try is "MyMobile". You can connect to your phone and have it display on your monitor and use your desktop keyboard for input.

Hope this helps.

Device: AT&T Fuze
ROM: NATF 4.6 Standard

I recently hard reset the device and after going through the required customization added an Exchange Activesync account. Note, there are no other email services added to the device at the time.

After adding the account, I see the unread message count along the bottom ribbon of TF3D and when I press the Inbox softkey I can see that there are plenty of messages in the box. The trouble is that the area that should be showing the large animated envelope with a message preview [the one you can toss from one email to another] shows the text "No Messages" despite a large message count. I tried hard resetting and going through the setup again and it continues to do this. I have not tried reflashing at this time.

This problem just began yesterday and I'm not sure what the trigger was. I haven't found a workaround yet.

Thanks!

(and thanks to someone for answering my 3G/H question yesterday)

I updated the ROM from NATF 4.5 to 4.6 and I really like it. Its good but the main problem I am facing with this ROM is the voice command. When I press the button over the bluetooth the MVC does not open and secondly I then get no voice from the phone. No voice whatsoever even when some one calls no ring tone. I missed a few calls because of this. I have to soft reset the phone then and everything gets back to normal. I need the MVC working. Can anybody tell me whats the trick I am missing here? Any help would be appriciated.

I have AT&T Fuse using NATF 4.6 TP Standard ROM and I have Jawbone bluetooth headset.

Hi. First of all, thanks for the rom, after using it for a few hours, I feel pretty satisfied, and consider this as a good replacement for the ROMeOS rom.

One thing though, the "breathing" feature (the light spinning around slowly in the hardware circle when you have an unread text message) doesn't seem to work for me. Is this a setting, or just bugged?
Either way, how do I fix this? It's actually pretty important to me.

Thanks.

First of all thanks for the ROM -- made using my Fuze so much more enjoyable.

Minor issue: anyone use Microsoft OneNote? I tried to start using that this weekend, and can't seem to get the physical keyboard to work for entering text, while the onscreen keyboard works just fine.

Also, has anyone had any issues using the radio I'm using (located in sig -- I admit I searched the thread for the previous issue, not this one)? I frequently have to disable/reenable my data connection to get picture messages and internet to work. Trying to figure if it's my Radio or not...

Thanks!

After I installed ROM 4.5, under:
Settings -> Personal Tab -> Sounds and Notifications -> Notifications Tab -> New Text Message

The option for "flash light" was greyed out and unavailable to change. It was set permanently to 5 minutes. Did a search, found this thread with registry changes:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=460368

I had to modify the registry accordingly in that thread (setting things to 31) and then I could change the setting.

Hope this helps...

I also use Pocket weather and have the same issue. On 4.6Lite Pocket weather works just fine. I've also tried 4.6 kitchen and still same issue as 4.6S.

What I have done is replaced the SYS and ROM folders with ones from 20771, keeping NATF's OEM folder cooked in my packages and now pocket weather works. So most likely there is something in the SYS folder that is causing the issue, I could be wrong.
Since I am an extreme noob to cooking i'm lost as to where to look to try and solve.

hey NATF,
Just wanna say thanks for the great ROM's I was using yours when I had my kaiser and loved it...now that I got my Fuze i've pretty much tried all the ROMs 6.5 included, but keep coming back to your 4.6 (well with 20771 sys and rom). THANKS

Status on v4.7 / 5.0:

I'm hoping for a few more suggestions with regards to what should be added/changed in 4.7, and I will hopefully have something ready by the end of the weekend.

I'm also prepping to release a WM6.5 ROM by the end of the weekend also, but since I'm on call for work this week, got called in last night, and have already been given a heads up to expect a page tonight, I can't guarantee a weekend release of this one... ahhh the glory of overtime pay!

Hey NATF,

Why do people constantly have to ask this? Just be patient, he'll get to it when he gets to it. Asking over and over doesn't change the length of time you have to wait, other than to extend it by giving him more to answer.

Worse, it clutters the thread unnecessarily, making it harder for people who actually need assistance to find solutions for the problems they're after.

Edit: Yes, I realize that my response is also clutter :p And even though 50% of the posts seem to be asking questions that've already been answered, I usually do refrain from saying anything.

Usually.

I do see your point, but this kind of thing gets in everyone else's face as well. Personally, I read this whole entire thread, to keep myself informed with relevant information...yet it turns out that the vast, vast majority of what I read consists of junk, or the same few questions being asked again and again by people too lazy to do their own due diligence. So it's not only NATF who's affected.

It would just be nice to filter out at least some of the totally unnecessary, to keep this thread useful for the rest of us. Which is why in this case I said something.

But you're probably right. Those who i.e. can't be bothered to find the answers for themselves probably never will.

v4.7 should be out tomorrow night. Like I said earlier, don't expect miracles with this one since there's not a whole lot more to be done with WM6.1.

v5.0 should be out by Friday night. I'm still adjusting to the new kitchen, and converting all of my OEM packages to the new format. Please do not flash this immediately after release if you are expecting a 100% functional ROM, as it will be my first WM6.5 release, and I'm likely to screw something up. :o

Did you try a main website? (Google, Yahoo, etc). You could also try over wi-fi instead of Data (so then you can narrow down if it's specific to the browsers or some type of connection setting)

Why not go all out and make several ROM version depending on the target device or even just for gits and shiggles? (similar to your latest Kaiser release)

Since this may be the last ROM you do with 6.1 why not make versions with the different skins (like the ATT or the HTC TF3D themes), Rhodimum TF3D, etc. and let WM6.1 go out with a bang rather than a whimper...

Personally I could go for a Rom that includes the Default ATT TF3D theme. I have always liked that theme and installed the leaked ROM from 2 months ago a few times just to see it again. I do remember you saying how you liked the theme on the Fuze Mobility Podcast.....

I would also love if PIM Backup was installed by default.

Prepping for a release tomorrow night. Here's one more day for opinions/suggestions on how to tailor v4.7...

TF3d2 is still buggy.....so if you use it, please release a version without it.
Bring it on....Now that we can disable the World Clock

TF3d works great but some have reported issues with it and Mobile Shell 3.....

Having a way to access 'Audio Player' outside of TF3d or TF3d2 would be real nice (example: programs shortcut).

Can we have some folders with icons.....big yellow ones are ugly.

Three big icons accross are easier to look at & navigate thru than 4 small icons accross.

Under Start, a Programs folder would be nice and to have installed programs' icons to go into the Programs folder would be great also. Normally, all shortcuts just go under start and it gets crowded.

6.5 has a lot of little annoyances but still worth using. I personally prefer it as is over 6.1.

Don't worry about getting right the 1st time....we're gonna break it anyway.

Thanks for the hard work.

The only suggestion I have about 4.7 is to release a Raphael and a non-Raphael version of the Standard ROM. Prepping for a release tomorrow night. Here's one more day for opinions/suggestions on how to tailor v4.7...

Great for you to take the time to ask for input. The most popular ROMs tend to be the ones that are the most stable. So I would recommend including new versions of products that increase stability rather the first versions of the next generation. I agree with the comments about T3D. Also products which are easily installabale, like google maps, should be left out. Products that are a hassle to install and that most people want, like Opera, should be included. Products that only a minority of folk want, like cyberon and microsoft voice, should be left out.

I am also not in the mood to use WM 6.5 until at least the first official release, its still too buggy for me. After all, my touch pro is my normal phone as well as my toy :) So I agree with you here.

Sometime, I might get off my ar$e and do a poll over a month to establish which applications the majority of folk actually want in builds .....

My own feeling, after having 5 different HTC devices is the last 2 months, is that the most popular ROMs tend to be close to the base HTC ROM applications with the latest versions all round and memory tweaks, taking out complete nonsense like the welcome centre, update and easily installable over-the-air apps, like google maps. With the bog-std HTC splash screens and backgrounds as well .... sorry :). Good examples are JADEMAN's Jade's rom, Micha's x7500 ROM and uDK sirius diamond's ROM.

my 2 cents

Please release 4.7 TP Standard with mirror download links. That's my one and only suggestion.

Actually, I have one more suggestion, mainly based on my use with different custom ROMs.

Do you think you can cook in the "3G" toggle in the Comm Manager? I know arrupenthal's RRE ROMs have it in by default, and I think it would be great for your ROM to have that capability by default as well. :)

When I turn on my bluetooth connection and hook up my Jawbone 2, first call works fine after that I have no sound for calls anymore (speaking or hearing). Only way I can get it to work again is by doing a soft reset.

Anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

I have an ATT Fuze running NATF 4.6 with radio 1.13.25.24 on Rogers in Toronto.

Thanks,

Rob.

Here's my suggestions not sure they're worth two cents  but here they are:

Your ROMS have always been stable and FAAAAST so please do not add anything that could change that (ie.: TF3D2)
or make multiple different ROMS for us to choose from: lite, ATT TF3D, TF3D and TF3D2 or just one the way you like it then offer the different flavors through your kitchen, hope you do release a 4.7 kitchen :)
PIM Backup
Fuze Tweak
NATF flavor Folder Icons
Fix for Pocket weather (does not show weather on 4.6S (works on 4.6lite))
3 or 4 row icons easily changable make it the way you like

what ever you decide i'm sure it will be another great ROM, and I will definetly be flashing, i've been playing with 6.5 but your 4.6 is sooo much faster. Hope you can make your V5 scream like your V4's
Thanks

Speed is pretty much all I can ask for. Ive used some other 6.5 roms and they are dogs. TF3D2 is a memory hog so I dont know how you could make it run any faster. Like the others have said Im sure youll do your best. Im on ur 4.6 and love it. Looking forward to trying out your next release.

Sorry if thi has already been covered, I did use the serach feature but turned up nothing. Love the ROM very fast, using the Lite version and I installed the add on FM radio cab but I can't get it to work. It just hangs and never fully oads...any ideas?

Could it be because I need to install one of the other cabs...or will FM Radio only work with TF3D? I am still very much a noob so any help would be appreciated.

I've got a Sony DR-B10CX bluetooth headset and typically use it for listening to music. When the headset is first turned on, it will register itself with the phone for calls but will not remember my saved preference to use it for 'wireless stereo'. In the partnership settings, it does show both Hands Free and Wireless Stereo checked, but to make the wireless stereo function, I have to navigate to the bluetooth settings panel, disconnect the headset using the menu, then reconnect it using the menu.

Would it be possible to make it actually reconnect both audio functions when the headset is turned on?

The only thing I still have an issue with is probably something you can't do anything about. The long delay between a call coming in and when the ring actually starts. I've seen a lot of suggestions but none of them help. It's mentioned that the htc dialer skin is the culprit but I have no interest in giving that up (including the slide to answer).

Thanks for making the phone much more usable that stock.

Is there any advantage to having an app (like Opera) cooked in vs. installing it afterward? I have cabs (UC) for all the apps I use and just want a fast, stable ROM - stripped down to the basics. All the other stuff, like 4 row icons - etc., I have cabs for and get installed with UC. There is no ROM that makes everyone happy. I am just trying to figure out why Kitchens let you cook all this extra stuff into a ROM when they can be installed via cabs? And then - when a new version of your app comes out, just uninstall/reinstall. No need to cook a new ROM. What am I missing?

In the case of Opera, 99.9% of ROM include it in CAB form, and it gets installed during Initial Customization. This way, it is included, but still uninstallable.

I agree - I would like to understand also.

On the older htc phones(like my wizard when i first started flashing). There was a magic number for rom size, If you tried to flash over ~40MB it wouldn't work, but if you didnt flash the full ~40MB the space still wasn't available to the user. SD cards weren't so big and people would cram every thing they could into that limited space. then you had all your 64 MB o.0 for other applications that constantly updated.

Now storage isn't really an issue and unused space from the rom is available for apps. But still some people like to have a full experience "out of the box", so the slow changing value adding applications are kept and the fluff(cook's discretion of what fluff is) is kicked. Most cooks provide lite aka standard versions of their roms too though..

I've been happy with your releases this far. I really like the shutdown time of the newest rom. I would really like a faster start up time (If you even have any control over that...), if you can do it without jeopardizing all of your usual stuff like TF3D, and I would love to see the new TF interface like we've been previewing in the 4.6 release.

Even though I've said I like TF3D I would enjoy the new WM 6.5 interface I think...so maybe have the option with or without the TF3D, since not everyone likes it and it sucks up a lot of memory.

Thanks for all of your hard work, I don't know if I would survive with the stock rom.

Prepping for a release tomorrow night. Here's one more day for opinions/suggestions on how to tailor v4.7...

stability, stability, stability.

I haven't seen anyone mention this at all, and not sure why I'm having this issue (fairly consistently). When I reply or forward and email (gmail and/or Exchange, for example), the Fuze will come to a near halt, or will freeze entirely. At that point I've had to remove the battery. I didn't have this issue with v4.4 or 4.5.

My work around is using "menu" and "add recipient" but it's a pain if I don't have that contact in my phone already. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd love it if this mysteriously went away in v4.7, but I'm assuming that it hasn't been seen...so will remain. Thanks for any suggestions.

Just flashed 4.6 and found a few bugs. Direct push won't add new accounts, and Audio Manager doesn't work at all. Also, does anyone know how to keep opera from freezing everything? Each time I click on the tab to connect, the phone freezes and I have to soft reset. Any ideas?

Another thing I would like to see is ICR (In Call Recording) working in the ROM without any other tweaking necessary.
