NATF,

I just flashed the new .35 radio and I am concerned that when I go to reflash a rebuilt version of your 4.7 kitchen I will get the original rilphone.dll that shipped with the rom. I can't seem to find any place where there is a rilphone.dll located in the kitchen, using windows search which I realize is limited. Can you offer any guiadance on how to upgrade the kitchen so I can swap in the new rilphone.dll?

Thanks,

Eric

rilphone.dll is located in OEMDrivers. You need to show Hidden Files, and Protected Operating System Files in order to see it.

Or find your rilphone.dll version as a CAB install here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494632

NATF,

I just wanted to congratulate you on 4.7. It is by far the fastest ROM I've used to date. I've been a fan since 4.2 and had been sitting on 4.4 for the last 4 months. I just upgraded to 4.7 and all I can say is W O W !!!

Thanks for all your hard work!

I am having problem with installing SecondToday.cab. I am always getting the message "Installation of SecondToday.CAB" was unsuccessful". It does not even ask for the location where the cab should be installed. It fails before that. I have tried to install it from storage card and also from "My Documents" folder in main memory. In either cases, I get the same message. I am trying to install the latest version (0.4.3) from http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_wm_tools_im_cs.htm#SecondToday. Is anybody else having the same problem?

Apart from this issue, this ROM rocks. Thanks, NATF, for a wonderful ROM!!!

Can somebody confirm that the Face Down Mute option doesn't work in their v4.7 too. Was in a meeting with my phone face down thinking that it would auto-mute, and if anything, the bloody thing rings louder because it's not sat on the speaker outlet! ;)

Cheers,

Steve.

Actually, this "feature" works too well for me! Due to the crappy selection of cases released by AT&T, I'm still using my old one from the Kaiser, which allows the phone to move around a bit since the Raphael is just a wee bit slimmer. So, when my phone rings, and I open the magnetic flap, the phone shifts around enough to get a quick glimpse of daylight, before going back to the dark of the case, that it mutes my ringer!

Weird. I don't seem to get any muting at all. I'll try and find time to test it at some point.

MusicID is a subscription based service. If you use the version that AT&T included in their ROMs, they bill you automatically. If you use the version included in my ROMs, it will begin to nag you that registration is required after a 3 days, but since it's not tied to an operator, you will not be billed.

How does this option work. I was just doing some testing with my phone face down and it always rang.

The actual name of the feature is "Mute on Face Down". You can test it by calling yourself with the phone face up, and once it starts to ring, turn it face down... the ringer should mute.

Well I noticed that TF3D decides to never load again (well, it just shows the black HTC background) after installing some cabs after flashing the rom.

I hard reset and installed each, one by one to see which one was causing the problem and discovered that this one was doing it:

http://www.studiokuma.com/wm/?section=support
ime-mingliu.cab (6191KB) <- that file

Anyone have any ideas as to how to get TF3D to start loading again while using that program?

Something similar happened to me. I also have Asian fonts/IMEs installed (in my case, Japanese). There should be a few seconds before the TouchFlo loads and freezes your phone. What I did was right before TF3D loaded, I went into settings, and disabled TF. Once the phone completely loads, minus TF3D, go back in and reenable TF3D. After that, soft reseting with TF3D should not freeze the phone.

Hey I've been running the Lite 4.7 ROM for a few weeks now and I have to say I really like the speed.

A minor annoyance I'm trying to fix is the phone "awakening" every time I get a text message. When I turn off the screen with the top button, I don't want it to come back on when I get a text. How can I change this setting?

Holy smokes i learn something new everyday.

also is there anyway to stop the phone from unlocking and turning the screen on during a bt call. If i have it in my pocket and make or receive a call over bt i end up calling someone else during my convo.

In the registry, change the value of
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\DisableSMSWakeUpEvent to 1.

Hope this helps.

Well... it appears that my WM6.5 thread was somehow merged into |RAPH|6.5|ROM|WWE| ★ EnergyROM 2.0 (21042) ★ || Build date 2009/4/16 || (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411872).

I'm working with the site admin to try and figure it out now. I received a PM asking me about the thread, and when I went looking, it was gone. Searching my recent posts led me to the thread linked above.

On a related note, since I cannot post in there, I must say that although I have not given up on my WM6.5 ROM, it will be at least another week before I can release it. I'm moving in 2 days, and need to pack my entire house, which is consuming every non-work hour of my day.

hello, i am writing this from my phone so please bear with me... i just had a couple questions that i'm hoping that my fellow fuze owners might be able to help me with...

1. why can't i view this page from my computer?? i used to be able to, but for some reason it just keeeps saying that the page is going under maintenance or that there was an error... now i can walk across the hall to my sisters room and go to this site just fine... any suggestions??

2. i would like to flash the new official htc update, and try the new radio... i heard its really good, so if i did that, then reflashed to natf 4.7s would it revert back to what it was??

3. heard there is a new version of opera...?? if i d/l the new opera..does it automatically replace the one that came with NATF rom?

4. is there anything i can use to be able to watch videos on my fuze??? besides youtube?? hulu perhaps???

5. o and what format would i have to convert my movies on my computre for it to be read by my fuze?? i see wee have a windows media player so would i be able to watch it through that if i formatted the fille correctly??

and please be nice, and answer to the best of your abilities... and don't twll me to search please... because like i said, i can't view it from my computer... and as much as i love my fuze... using it to browse for long extended periods of time is fairly tedious... thank you..

There is a new 9.7 beta, no it won't replace the one that came with the rom.

I installed 4.7 Lite and the standard battery icon shows 4 bars all the time, even when my phone was at 50% battery remaining. I installed your battery icon pack and that works perfectly fine, but the standard icons don't work correctly.

I am having the same issue with mine. I did the regedit fix you mentioned, but that didn't change anything.

I thought in previous ROM versions, there was a digital battery meter like this one:

http://dorkon.com/img/batt1.jpg

Now the battery meter is more analogue

How can I get the digital battery meter?

Clear your cache. IE 8 and Firefox 3+ have a "Clear Private Data" option that will clear cache, cookies, and authenticated sessions.

Also try CMD -> ipconfig /flushdns

2. i would like to flash the new official htc update, and try the new radio... i heard its really good, so if i did that, then reflashed to natf 4.7s would it revert back to what it was??

My ROMs do not include a radio, so the new version will stay after flashing.

3. heard there is a new version of opera...?? if i d/l the new opera..does it automatically replace the one that came with NATF rom?

Opera is installed from a CAB file. Soft reset, uninstall it, soft reset again, install the new version.

4. is there anything i can use to be able to watch videos on my fuze??? besides youtube?? hulu perhaps???

Skyfire, like already mentioned.

5. o and what format would i have to convert my movies on my computre for it to be read by my fuze?? i see wee have a windows media player so would i be able to watch it through that if i formatted the fille correctly??

I use Allok AVI MPEG Converter to convert movies to MP4, and play them back with Coreplayer or TCPMP.

hey guys...hoping someone can help with what I'm sure is an easy solution. I am trying to flash the new HTC Fuze rom just to test it out but it keeps failing at around 10-12% into the flash. I was wondering if I maybe need to put back the original SPL or rom to make it work. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thx

Forgot to mention that I am currently running NATF 4.7S Fuze

Edit: Got rom to load finally. Loaded original AT&T rom then loaded the updated one. Will be going back to 4.7s before I go to sleep hahaha.

sameeha,

I was just talking with my friend (both of us just put 4.7 on our Fuze's) about how great our battery life is on this ROM compared to all the others. Odd that you're having a problem with it... might I suggest trying a different radio just to test? We're using 1.14.25.05, I'd be curious to know if that solves your problem or not!

I was using the 1.12.25 radio with great sucess, including great battery and reception, until I decided to give the new 1.14.25 a go around. So far 4.7S is running the same. I dont notice a battery drain. What is great though about the new one is that is picked up an average of 1 bar wherever I go. However, at first I did notice a slight drop in battery performance with 1.14 but it qiuckly went away after a day or so. I am in northern california so what may be good for me isnt necessarily good for everyone else. I would recommend 1.12.

I'm a bit embarrassed. I've tried searching several times, never get anywhere, drop it, and then later on I get frustrated because of the behavior.

Quick question: Can I disable the capacitive panel on the bottom in the latest NATF ROM? I don't use it, and frankly, on my phone, it's a little tweeky for me.

As it is now, I sometimes scroll off of the selection that I intended to select in the Phone History screen, or other unpredictable behavior.

Thanks in advance!

I check the Manilla V2 first post on a regular basis.
XBMod is working hard with the latest official release.

The now available "Beta" release has a few minor bugs.

Looking at NATF's updates, I think he'd rather wait to include Manilla V2 untill a final VGA release pops up.

This is merely a deductive theory and does not represent what NATF may have planned for the next release.

Do you have a link?

Very easy to find my friend.

For the radio:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439566

For the Rilphone.dll (in case your not using NATF):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494632

Im pretty sure NATF has included the rilphone for 1.12.25.19 in 4.7S
so no need for the .dll if you are gonna use it.

On another note, I have to retract my previous statement about the
1.14.25.05 radio. It actually sucked for me. The battery drain was very noticable running 4.7S between the two. Its not for california. Im happily back to 1.12.25

Make sure you have signed into the account manager
under settings properly. I have had an issue now and
then when im trying to upload multiple pics consecutivly,
right after another and not all get through to my FB account.
If all else fails, im sure a hard reset will fix it. Hope that helps

I would recommend searching the Dev and Hacking Forums.

You might find the VGA Keyboards and the extra package in your language.

After that you are all set with your own Language package no matter which rom you flash.

By default all languages are in most of the roms but disabled in the registry by default so only a few show up.

See how i don't give any direct links but Keywords to help you in your search:rolleyes:.

Good suggestion. In the account manager in the settings tab>connections, I was logged in at 1 point after i reflash to 4.7. Because i had to sign out. Any further attempts have failed and continue to fail. This goes the same for You Tube. As well as the Netflix app to view your ques. (not in the accounts but referring to an app) I have only narrowed it down to only these 3 apps.

Intresting enuff the facebook app works fine as in to log in and such

anybody else having this issue?

I came from 4.4 to 4.7 recently and yes i had hard reset after my flash..

I might do it again ... if somebody can confirm at least the facebook portion is working for somebody else.

Update:

I read a post that was posted 30 mins before my post. Hard reset.. functional now...

now i will systematically go thru my apps to find out which one it is that is causing the conflict.

shouldnt take long i dont have that many.

Update.

dunno how to explain it .. install all the apps i use... facebook.. System seven..pocket quicken..netflix manager...gparks..shopping cart..live search...

short of going thru a couple of the apps and validating they work .. everything seems fine with the connectivity with facebook via htc album.

This would be my third hard reset since my flash of 4.7.

as the more i flash do you think you have to do more hard resets to make sure its clearing out?

NATF 4.7 ROM is fantastic! Finally I have a great user interface and my Fuze is so fast. Thanks a lot!
Nevertheless, I cannot locate Sprite Backup that was installed in my original HTC/AT&T ROM. How to find the program on the Fuze running NATF 4.7 or where from may I download it?

I think PIM is better. Try using google or the xda wiki to
find these kind of answers. This should get you started.

I looked at PIM and it doesn't seem to have a function to restore a crashed device from a self-extracting backup file on the Storage Card.

I'm back from the initial move, but I've still got a great bit to go with regards to getting the old house ready for presentation... living somewhere for 13 years builds up a lot of dirt in placed you can't reach. :o

I'm also still working on moving the last of the small things to the new house. My desktop was moved there yesterday, but it's still disconnected on the floor. :( Hopefully I can be back up and running within a few days.

Thanks a lot! I had no problems with the link, installation, or making backups. The xda community is great!

BTW - I noticed that you do not use the radio that is included with the newest AT&T ROM (1.14.25.35) but rather 1.12.25.19. Do you get better reception? What about the battery life? I have marginal signal in my home, so any improvement would be welcome.

Programs to possibly add:
tbattery
Touch In-Screen call tweak
Diamond Tweak
AppToDate

It looks like they know what the requirements are for when you cook the ROM though. Even if the ability to deploy updates through the auto-updater is a ways away, if the ROM is cooked to support it, .cab.pkg and .cab.pku files can be installed manually to perform system updates. Next time you forget to make a change to a registry entry (using the default ring tones as an example), you could just release a .cab.pku file to fix it, that way the change is persistent across hard resets.

Been lurking in the forums for a couple of months now, scanning the ROM dev threads. I decided on Radio 1.12.25.19 a while back...had no problems flashing HardSPL and my new radio, thanks to mskip's excellent instructions...after much procrastination, I decided on NATF's 4.7s ROM, which I flashed yesterday....what a difference it makes to this great phone.

Thanks NATF...

I do have a question....If I flash a newer NATF ROM (assuming there will be a newer 6.1 ROM) will I be able to restore system settings, or will only a PIM restore work, and require a full reconfig of any apps I may have installed, email accounts, etc...

NATF may not be doing another update to the 4.x series. An ATT official ROM update was released the day after NATF came out with 4.7 and other than minor changes in the release its not much of an update. NATF is currently working on a new WM 6.5 ROM (the 5.x series) that will come out very soon. I use PIM everytime and yes you have to reset up email and apps too unless ive been doing it the hard way this whole time. Hope that helps :D

My touch screen is not working at all. Is there any keyboard entry that will allow me to answer an input ("yes or No") to the bottom screen entry. I cant seem to find a key or combination of keys to complete the input. I have looked for hours for an answer. These entries appear just above the HTC logo on the bottom and they change with the program. On the Home screen they are Calendar and Contacts. In the Flashing screen its a yes or no input.

NATF, have you noticed any more strange behavior out of MSVC in this build? Lately mine has acted strangely. Sometimes it announces the name of the caller, sometimes only their number, and sometimes it just stays silent. This behavior seems to affect ringtones, too. The times when the MSVC doesn't announce properly, the ringtones don't come through my Bluetooth headset (a Jawbone Prime). Soft-resetting the phone restores everything to normal for a day or two and then it acts up again.

Your ROM was the first that i have flashed in to my brand new FUZE, and i loved it. Then i had journey with different 6.5 ROMS, which i hate now because most of them come with Rhodium Manila that is very buggy. I stop trusting my phone in taking calls, creating alarms also hated sms, on some keyboard didn't work or just acted funny. And then i realized that there is solution to all my problems, i went back to your ROM last night and being happy since. Only thing that i want in new update is In call recorder.

Hi NATF,

Thanks a lot for the rom. Its good and fast. Is there any solution for the power (battery) drain. It drains fast. Using radio rom 1.14.25.35.

Cheers,

Sameeha

I'm using the same radio but didn't experience the battery drain issue - I have the corresponding rilphone.dll installed via a cab.

For me, the 1.12 radio was a bad experience on 4.7S - calls would get stuck upon ending, GPS didn't lock as fast (1.14.25.35 was pretty much instant with latest QuickGPS) & overall signal was worse.

I use the radio in the Wash. DC area.

Actually, I stepped back down to the build that came in the 5.08 leaked ROM. In 4.6, I was using a newer build from 21042, and that caused the entire SMS tone to play in your ear if one came in while you were on a call.

I went straight from 4.4 to 4.7 so I never ran into this bug. Sounds like a major pain in the ear.

So is this issue with MSVC something that's endemic to MSVC on all platforms or just your ROM's? I'm just curious if it's just generally crappy coding by MS or whether there's a compatibility issue they're having. I know the issue isn't with your ROM's :) .

I still cant get video share to work. I have the standard version installed. Do I need to install AT&T PhoneCanvas Dialer w/ S2A, Video Share, and PTT. to make it work?

I did some searching and I couldnt find an easy fix but some info here that might help.

AT&T PhoneCanvas Dialer w/ Video Share and PTT (http://rapidshare.com/files/203047401/NATF_ATT_PhoneCanvas__PTT_.cab)

3G Service Area:
You (and the other party) MUST be in a 3g service area, with at least 2 bars, why 2 bars you ask? well, quality of service mainly, less than 2 bars and your 3G will be very slow, remember you're trying to transmit alot of data with Video share.
A Data Plan:
This was a shock, but not really... if you don't want to be charged for every KB of data sent / received in addition to the 35 cents per minute pay per use or whichever plan you have, you must have a good data plan to cover the charges... I don't understand why AT&T feels they must double charge, once for the feature and then for the data to use that feature, MMS Messages do the same... if they charge a high rate for MMS, you shouldnt be charged for the associated DATA, what a rip!
Video Share PPU, Starter, or Premium service (the service itself) -- not much to say but DUH, also the receiver must have this service and an appropriate data plan as mentioned above or you will never see the option on your phone during a call.
IMS APN Feature:
(FREE) Although the guy I finally got a hold of to make this all work (who had a thick accent and was hard to understand, but knew what he was doing) told me that video share will work with wap.cingular, there have been reports that it doesn't. When you provision Video share the network automatically changes your APN to ims.cingular, IMS APN feature must be on your account for access or it could give you all sorts of problems form "forbidden" on browsing to rejected emails/mms. If you have a 3G phone this is most likely on your account, it is the new higher speed apn for 3G, maybe that's why the internal customer service code for it is "3GMM" hmm....
Correct settings in your phone:
I'm not going to go into those details here, but its obvious, you must have the correct settings.
Correct IMEI:
Here's the fun one, I had tried everything above as mentioned in scattered posts throughout the net only to call at&t several times getting frustrated over not getting any results, the final time I called them I ended up talking to some guy in a "special department" related to video share issues. After reviewing all settings on my account he finally figured out the problem (which took him about 2 minutes after getting transfered) the IMEI numbers for my phones were not listed in the system. (blame the dealer I bought the phones from as they are supposed to enter this) there are several places the IMEI's get listed, and I'd think they could easily pluck this information from the network when the phone registers but no, I read him my IMEI information from both lines on my account that video share didn't work for (the FUZE and the VU), he had us remove the batteries as he sent the updates across the network, and BAM the very next call between the phones and video share works like a champ. What this boiled down to is the network didn't know what type of phone I had and what features to turn on and what to do to make the phones talk to each other in a compatible form. I'd think this would cause all sorts of other issues with the network too, not just for video share.
A final note on this:
If you change phones, make sure you call and have the IMEI information updated, if I change my FUZE for another FUZE it would probably work, but if I swap the device out for a different model it would not necessarily pick the most compatible features for my phone...
Privisioned Dates:
When you go to your online account management and add features, it says they are immediately effective, sometimes this is true, but in the case of my account it likes to post-date to the next bill cycle. This is especially true when you visit an AT&T store, it will definitely post-date there. I had 3 IMS APN features and Video Share features on my account, all with different dates, this is because, I tried to add and 2 people at the store tried to add, to make sure Video Share and IMS are on your account and active / effective TODAY you have no choice but to call customer service and tell them you want them on your account effective immediately. While it will appear on your account management that you have it, don't trust it as it only checks for the feature, not the active dates.
And finally the internet connection:
Some people have noted that your connection must be active before the call, this is not true although it is very helpful. The video share negotiation takes place over the phone control channel, when it is determined that you both have the service and compatible phones it will send a message to both phones. They will then try to turn on their data connections and verify with the server whether or not the option should be turned on. If your data is active before the call your video share button will be available instantly as it is for me. If it is NOT then it will take ~20 seconds or more to connect to the net and contact the server to verify, then turn on the option for you. Just make sure your internet works in general and that you can connect and you should have no problems during a normal call.

You can see it repeated at the bottom of the screen. I don't know what's going on here and haven't found anything to tell me what that is. It only happens when the keyboard is slid out and typing on it. What is going on and how do I remove it? It gets in the way when using apps like PocketDOS.

Go to the on screen keyboard and turn off T9. That will fix it.

T9 is for predictive text (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T9_(predictive_text)). I personally think it's a TOOL OF THE DEVIL!

I do a lot of beta testing on my phone and recently wiped and reinstalled 4.7 and I started to get the following error. "Voice Command has quit due to low memory. Close running programs and try again." Well now a couple of weeks later this error is still popping up and I am curious as if anyone else has seen this? Is it a bug, could it be a sign of hardware failure? Not sure the purpose behind this message but I do know that there is plenty of memory available during the time of this message and Voice Command still is running and working, however this message randomly pops every now and then.

Any feedback/input would be helpful.

Thanks

I've never received the MSVC error you're showing, but my MSVC did start acting really strange about two or three weeks after flashing to 4.7. I did a hard reset last week and MSVC seems right as rain again.

NATF, is there some kind of resource that MSVC uses that (a) it can run out of and (b) would persist across one or more soft resets? I did several soft resets trying to fix my MSVC issue and it never helped. The hard reset, however, did. I did not reflash, so deductively it seems to be something that "accumulated" on my phone over time that messed up MSVC. Note than when MSVC announcements started acting funky, MSVC voice recognition also kind of quit working. I'd have to try two or three times to get it to recognize what I was saying. When it was acting normally, the voice recognition almost always worked on the very first try, even in noisy environments. After a soft reset, MSVC announcements were still screwy but the command recognition seemed to work fine...for short while anyway.

There was another symptom that I haven't mentioned thus far: there was enormous lag between the time I'd press the top power button (when trying to lock/turn off the display) and the time the display would actually turn off. I'm talking 5-10 seconds here. After the hard reset, the display goes off almost instantly, just like it did after my initial flash of 4.7. The rest of the UI was not laggy, just the power button.

I don't know if any of this ties together so I've thrown it all out there. I don't load a lot of cruft on my phone. It's 4.7S with AmazeGPS and the HTC ringtone/alert package. No more, no less.

Its called the XDA-Wiki. A great search function.

There is a rapid share download link for 4.5 Standard Fuze and TP in this link.
I personally think the Fuze 4.7S is easily the best so far.
Hope that helps

Bump. Same problems here, I can wait though. Thnx for the given to the community NATF

Hi I know this isn't a support site, but thought you guys would have more of a clue. After I performed a hard reset on my HTC Touch Pro it's the AT & T Fuze one. The slide out keyboard layout was different to the keys on the keyboard, e.g. i press 1 2 and 3 up the top and get 7 8 and 9 i knwo there's two models i've found with two layouts but this was what came with the phone.
I updated it with a custom rom, but still have the same probelm.
Does anyone know how to modify the keyboard layout?
Thanks

For me, I have a big H for signal, and if a data connection is active, I get a little H on top of my signal bars.
I have recently flashed my htc fuze and now have only edge connection. I used to have 3g. How did you get the H? My internet speed is around 200kb/s. It used to be 1.1 mb/s. I would like to kno how to improve the signal. I have tried many different radios too. All edge. If it helps, I live in the Los Angeles area. Thanks for the ROM though, way better than the stock AT&T. Great apps included.

Obviously, your reception depends on where you are but if you go into the
Settings/Connections/Advanced Network you will see the enable/disable HSDPA option. Also make sure your SIM card
is up to date and if you are using the 1.12.25.19 radio then you should have no problems.
If it persists then a hard reset or reflash is in your future. Hope that helps :D

It also shows up in the lower right hand corner when you soft reset, the first set of red numbers next to the "R"

Dear NATF,

Recently i got a Raphael and i am a fan of HTC for the past 4 years. i used only three models of HTC and the recent one is Raphael. I am a ROM freak and flashing is my addiction :).

But sad to say, after NATF V4.7, i stopped bricking my phone :D and i am well pleased with the response of the OS. its super fast, good battery life, most of the common applications.. its cool NATF, good job.

Well, i am waiting for you to fix the in call recording and i hope that you will connect it with the answer screen. Why don't you include the latest stable radio with your cooked ROM so that less educated freaks like me don't have to search for it?

But what ever you did, amazing and keep on cooking

If the dialer is only taking up 1/4 of the screen, you likely installed a QVGA dialer. All QVGA apps that do not support automatic resolution scaling will look the same way on a VGA screen.

In Call Recording only works with the HTC Dialer. If you are running the Fuze ROM, then you have the AT&T dialer, which is required for PTT/Video Sharing.

Regarding the Radio, check Post #2. I explain my reasoning there.

Thanks for this great ROM.

Well, this is my first Raphael ROM on my Fuze and decided to stay with it due to stability.

I flushed the 4.7 Fuze Lite ROM, installed removeHiddenProxy cab, and set up Rogers APN and proxy setting.

At this point Opera works, HTCHome Weather tab proxy patch works, Navizon map works without any problem. The only problem I am seeing is QuickGPS failing to download data. When I press download, the phone establishes data connection (which I tested with opera and the connection is OK), but QuickGPS fails with 'connection failed. ..... ' error.

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

NATF...after trying a ton of ROM's on my FUZE I can honestly say that yours is without a doubt the best. A lot of other chef's come out with releases several times a week...and what they are really doing is chasing bugs. I like the way you manage your ROM distribution. I would rather see one ROM a month released that is stable versus 3 a week that are full of glitches.

I appreciate all of your hard work and the obviously large amount of testing you do before you post a new ROM.

One other thing...a lot of others talk about performance in their ROMS...and you don't...but this is the quickest my FUZE has ever felt.

Thanks again.

PS...I'll buy you a beer...hope the leg gets better.

The only problem I am seeing is QuickGPS failing to download data.

Works fine for me. Sounds like a connection problem of some sort.

For me, Quickgps works fine over WiFi or ActiveSync. The problem happens with EDGE/3G only. As I mentioned, Quickgps establishes an EDGE/3G connection, over which other S/W but Quickgps itself can communicate.

Today evening, I gave a shot to the NATF 4.7 TP Lite edition, but no luck. With the same setting, QuickGPS works fine on my Tilt.

I agree that it is possibly a connection problem. I would appreciate pointing me to things, I should check for.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I have been a long time user of the NATF roms (which are second to none.) When I bought the fuze, I unlocked it and have been using it on the t-mobile network. I have an unlimited data plan and have been able to tether my laptop (by creating a new connection via internet2.voicestream.com instead of the att MediaNet). Everything functioned normally until recently.

About a week ago I noticed that I was unable to access the web through either Opera or Pocket Internet Explorer. I checked to see if the phone was still capable of receiving data through Google Maps and the email reader app that comes with the phone, and to my surprise I was able to access data through these apps. I tethered my phone to my laptop and I was also able to access data from there as well. It seems that the problem is only with the mobile browsers.

I flashed my phone with the v4.7 rom but the problem continues.

Has anyone heard of this kind of issue? I did a search on the internet and on this forum but found nothing useful. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey NATF! The rom is amazing! Speedy, stable, light, and a joy to use! Well done! I do not need to bother trying out anymore roms!

For everyone, try using wktask as a task manager instead of the htc task manager. It is way better! You can program the x buttons in programs to close or just minimize and it also allows you to see running programs at the top of the task bar. Disable htc task manager before using it. Works like a charm!

Yes I went and restored the original settings when I inserted the att sim card. Today I installed the Skyfire browser, since other applications besides PIE and Opera have access to the internet. Upon starting the program I was prompeted as to whether I wanted to upgrade to the latest version of this browser. After clicking yes the new version downloaded! At this point im thinking I at least have some access to the internet. But as soon as the browser was started and I typed in google, the browser hung up and and gave me the same http timeout message. =/ Funny thing is I can still tether. Im making this very post on a laptop thats connected to my phone!

Any and all suggestions are much appreciated, Thanks.

this rom is awesome. i finally got around to installing. i was on 4.4 previously, which was ok, updated to 4.6, which was just horrible. i honestly just resigned myself to the idea that the Fuze is just laggy and crappy and there's nothing to be done about it.

So I have looked all over the forums and I can't find anything that helps so here goes.

I am new to the ROM flashing so be gentle.

I have recently updated to the official HTC rom so that much works, however when trying to flash 5.0 rom the wrapper tool shows the 0% indicator and eventually times out with an error 262.

Under NATFs guidance I copied the nbh file to a sd card (seems to be limited to a 1GB BTW) and activated the boot loader. This method switches to a white screen that says "loading..." but never makes it any farther, I have left it on this screen for 30 minutes to make sure it had time to do anything that may have been running in the background.

Can anyone else enlighten me on what I might be missing

also in case it helps I am using vista 64 bit, but I can also emulate xp-32 in a virtual machine

So you have HardSPL installed, correct?

Instead of just deleting files off the SD card, connect the phone in Disk Mode, and Quick Format it FAT32. I use an 8GB card, so the size is not an issue, but NTFS will stop it dead in it tracks.

I've been testing out ROMs for the Fuze and this ROM has been the most stable for me. I've been using the Lite version because I have preferences for interfaces.

The only thing I wish this had was the ability to disable G-Sensor. G-sensor is a pain in the ass and I dont find it useful at all for the most part. I think there was an option to manually flip the view, but I tried it, rebooted the phone, and it didnt "turn off". Otherwise, stable flavor for me.

Can't wait for the next update. Hopefully you can barebone the hell out of it without losing stability.

I did not change the TF3D theme. I am using the one that came with 4.7 rom by default. I actually never saw the email preview working. I had installed the 4.7 rom right after I received my FUZE. So, I do not have experience with any other rom.

BTW, all my email accounts are being pushed by "Seven" (including my work emails, hotmail and gmail). Can this be an issue with email accounts managed by "Seven"?

That explains it, thanks. I also checked in the Seven forum. It is a known problem and they have mentioned that their developers investigated it and they would not be able to provide a resolution.

Nice, sorry I didnt see the posts..

Another thing, I downloaded the latest Opera Mobile 9.7 Build 35166 (I figured this may solve my problem of pages not loading-IE still doesnt work). This browser does work but the scroll wheel doesnt work. Is there a 'driver' out there that might get it functioning?

Thanks.

Hello I just switched from Tilt to Raphael and tried couple of ROMs. I installed 4.7 lite. The ROM is stable and fast.

I have just one quest regarding Menus. The Question is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548193. Not sure if this ROM specific or program specific or generic.

The new menus are a finger-friendly replacement called Notification Enhancements. Made by HTC.

Install a registry editing program. Navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Shell\Notification\OEM]. Delete "CustomUIDLL", and change "UseDefaultUI" to 1.

After a soft reset, you should see the normal WM6.1 menus.

Also, I deleted your other thread since I answered your question here.

NATF,

Thanks for the quick reply. I did exactly as you told, deleted CustomUIDLL and set UseDefaultUI to 1. But menu are still the same new ones :-(. Any more tips ?

Also one more thing which I am missing alot is, when I go to Settings->Personal->Button, there is only one Button which can be changed. How can I change other buttons, e.g. I want to change PPT button to invoke taskmgr.exe, also want to make long PPT button to invoke another program.

I had problems with Wifi WPA. I changed the power or Wifi to high, the it connected fine.

Loving the ROM. Thanks in advance.

There are two options: (1) Install ATT ROM, and if you are not on AT&T then install hidden proxy removal cab, (2) Install PTTMod on TP ROM. Personally, I choose the 2nd route.

Now I have created link as 44#"\Program Files\NATF\Java\jbed.exe" -run s0_ but I am unable to run operamini. It keeps on saying suite s0_ not found. I installed NATF Java bed and then opera mini. No other Java app is there and I checked opera mini is installed as suite S0.

Yes, that the one I installed. It does not have operamini. It creates only one shortcut "Java.lnk" in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\System.

Another thing when I check running processes, I see Opera.exe runnning even after fresh soft reset. It is not there in Windows/StartUp. Any way to Switch it off ? (Edit: Solved it by removing from hkcu\software\htc\bootlauncher).

Great rom. Installed the v4.7 on my HTC FUZE about a week ago and have no problems yet, actually seems to be better and more stable then the at&t rom.

However i stumbled upon the fact that there is no wireless modem, in the rom or at least i couldn't find one. Was it disabled in the rom or taken out all together? Is it possible to repair/add it?

Apart from that this is the best rom i used so far. Great work.

My suggestion would be to update the 6.1 build to be the current latest (21055). There's something wrong with the current 20771 build for me in that the taskbar pops out in full screen mode when it comes to switching between portrait and landscape orientations, like Opera and YouTube. It's REALLY annoying to me whenever I open up YouTube, flip out the keyboard to type in my search terms in landscape, and slide the computer back in only to find that I have to close the taskbar that automatically pops out by clicking and closing out of the Start menu. This does not happen in the latest 6.1 builds, however. :)

NATF 4.7 is very stable and very pristine. The only bug I encounter is that the capacitive wheel does not work to zoom in on Google Maps (zoom out works fine). If you want stability, you won't find anything better than 4.7.

I am not aware of any WM 6.5 ROMs that are entirely bug free. It has only been a short time since there was a non-beta 6.5 build to cook against, and there are still compatibility "bugs" with 6.1 software that needs to be properly ported to 6.5 (such as TF3D2). I hope with 6.5 officially available and 3 HTC WM 6.5 devices on the market, it won't be long until we have bug free versions of cooked 6.5 + TF3D2 ROMs on xda.

I have never used the EnergyROM, so I have no personal experience. I have read accounts that people get better battery life on NATF's ROMs than on the EngeryROM. The only way to find out is to test it. Personally, I have seen the biggest change in battery life from using different radios. Also, your signal strength has a large impact on how long your battery will last. With NATF 4.7, in the area where I live I only get about 1- 1.5 days with moderate usage (I live in a area with bad coverage no matter who your provider is). I have traveled to other places where I get up to 2 days with heavier usage.

+1 on using a later build of 6.1. I work with people who use the Samsung Omnia which was upgraded from build 210276 to build 210961 in a recent firmware update, and there are some nice tweaks in the OS that make some things easier to find (such as the bluetooth beam passcode).

From what I've heard, 6.5 is more fine tuned and better on battery life and performance.

6.5 is built to work on current hardware, so MS was well aware how to get the most out of the popular Qualcomm processors most phones have right now.

NATF,

I've been using your ROMs since the beginning of v4 series, and have even been using your WM6.5 ROMs a bit, but prefer 6.1 at the moment. Thanks so much for all of the time you've put into developing these ROMs and addressing user needs. You're the man!

Currently I'm running the 'bloat-free' ROM based on the HTC released update that has WM 5.11.502.2 WWE.

A few questions about your upcoming ROM.

Is AGPS (i have an AT&T Fuze, radio 1.14) working? It didn't seem to be for me in 4.7, but maybe I didn't give it long enough. It IS working in the 5.11 WWE release, so I exported the registry settings and will see if that works
Is the problem with SMS unread messages only decreasing by one fixed? THere was a CAB floating around that patched tmail.dll (i think), and though it fixed the problem, it caused more issues around the mail app
Is there anything in particular you are doing for the display drivers or acceleration? Maybe it is my imagination but it seems like your ROMs (this one and the 6.5 one) consitently run things like PockeTwit smoother than others.
How difficult is it to provide a cab (or basic instructions) on reverting to the stock menus, instead of the fancy kind? This isn't a biggie

Again, thanks so much for all of your hardwork, looking forward to the final 6.1 ROM. You will be getting a nice donation whenev I flash it!!

Ha, i thought that downloading, flashing and getting your 4.7 rom setup to my tastes would get you to release the final build.

I was right, but now am dissappointed that i have to reflash so soon.

It's like when you light a cigarette to make the bus come faster, but then you have to throw away the cigarette you just lit =(

We'll see how it goes, thank you very, very much.

[Edit, actual question]

Is there anything special you do to get the battery life so good? I've used RRE/Romeos, Energy, Elite, DaG, etc., but never saw battery life like I did on your 4.7 ROM last week. I noticed in advanced config that most of the "power management" options were disabled.

To your question: I honestly cannot tell you my exact science. In discussions with several chefs going back as far as 1 year, I just tried a bunch of different tweaks, which can all be found in the NATF Tweaks PROVXML, by the way. I kept on experimenting until something real good came from it.

After flashing the rom, the software keyboard does not work.

I can change it to "keyboard" or "phone pad" or transcriber/block recognizer whatever and it works, but the default EZ-Input HTC finger keyboard just screws up the screen by not drawing anything when it comes out. I can tap on it, but it seems like it is just one big spacebar...

Thought it may have been something i did, but hard reset -> notes -> keyboard and it still doesn't work.

I'm experiencing the same thing. I also notice the "sym" key doesn't work on the slide out keyboard (FN + Space)

It's come time to send in my touch pro and upgrade to the TP2 so i am wondering how to disable or remove the splash/startup screen? I've done some searching and I can not find out how to do this. I have even flashed back to the original att rom...

PS: Great ROM by the way.

Download the ROM from here (http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=198&cat=2&dl_id=553). It contains the AT&T splash screen.

说真的 这可能是我见到过最好的6.1系统了 但现在已经习惯了6.5了 但如果是要求速度和稳定性的话 我还是会选择这个ROM的

Mod Edit: English (Google) Translation

Believe me This is probably the best I have ever seen a 6.1 system, but now have been accustomed to a 6.5 but if it is speed and stability requirement, then I would choose the ROM -

I'm sure this isn't the best place to ask but at least I'm a regular here: Do the installers/flashers work in Win7? I can still get to my old XP machine, but wondering if I *HAVE* to.

I've been flashing under Win7 Ultimate x64 since the RC many months ago. Never ran into a problem.

I can confirm there is some type of bug with the software keyboard. I have tried flashing twice with hard-resets after the flashes each time and the software keyboard doesn't seem to want to pop up in any application. It looks like its trying to show up since the applications shift upwards but its just a blank screen.

I suspect that my super-reliable EzInput 1.5 package is not compatible with the newer OS builds. I will find a fix, and post an updated package that people can toss into the kitchen and recook with.

NATF,

Great job on getting v4 Final out there bud!!

I saw in your screenshots you are using radio 1.12.25.19, would you recommend that over 1.14.25.35? Both with the corresponding DLLs of course.

I will flash your ROM onto my phone tonight and let you know how it goes. Thanks again for all your hard work.

I've been off GSM for a little over a month now, but I was running that radio since the moment the ROM containing it leaked. With the exception of my new house, I always had full bars.

Ah i see. Got sick of AT&T? lol thanks for the info.

The ROM seems fast, but I have an extremely weird issue that only recently started happening since flashing. Whenever i receive text messages, my unread count goes up by 1, but the message isn't displayed in the inbox. The registry entries for unread messages are all at "0", even though the home screen displays an unread text message.

This isn't the same problem as the incorrect # of unread messages or whatever, as the number goes up when I receive a text, but the message never appears.

This problem only started happening after it had been working for a while, so I am really stumped. i will mess around with it later on today when I have some more time, but I was just wondering if anybody has had a similar issue.

- EDIT -
I did try hard-resetting, but haven't re-flashed, but will try that later today.

Hi.
Something strange happens with this ROM (I love it anyway). I can not use any browsers (Opera or Internet Explorer) with data connection (EDGE, GPRS or 3G), but I can active sync my outlook email or update the weather tab without any problem. Using Wi-FI connection I do not have any problem....this do not happens with other Roms....
Any fix?.

Thanks,
Juan P. Roman

Are you running either of the Fuze versions? They contain AT&T's
hidden proxy which is needed for their MEdia Net connection. If you have a Fuze running on another network, you can either remove the hidden proxy, or flash the HTC ROM to the phone, and run the keyboard fix to correct the hardware layout.

Thanks for this last 6.1 ROM. I am giving my Fuze to my Father since I just got the Tilt 2, and your 6.1 ROMs are going to be the best for him. Fast, good battery life, and stable. Thanks again.

Thanks,

Great ROM.

I loaded the Lite Final version. I cannot seem to find Quick GPS. Am I overlooking it somewhere? If not, is a CAB available? I searched but did not find a ralph cab for Quick GPS.

Thanks for the help.

NotATreoFan, is there a fix for this bug? I can't use special characters this way. The rest of your ROM is really mindblowing...haven't seen this battery life on my machine before!

Update on where the new ROM versions are:

Although I take the SEPTA Regional Rail to work, which is running during the SEPTA strike (http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&source=hp&q=SEPTA+strike&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=ZTb0St_sK4XhlAfr6uGoAw&sa=X&oi=news_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CBEQsQQwAA), the added volume of bus/subway riders has made my commute to work 30 minutes longer, and my commute home 2.5 hours longer . Unfortunately, this is really cutting into what little time I have away from work. To make matters even worse, I'm on pager this week :(.

So in closing, I am currently unable to spend more then 1-2 hours a night working on ROMs, and with so many out there to update, it's going to take until early next week to get them all updated to a new version.

Thank you for being patient. :)

Hi,
I am also experiencing the soft keyboard problem, as some of you already reported.
Did someone check if problem exists in Lite/Pro ROMs?
I have it in Fuze Standard ROM.
Thanks.

EDIT :
Well, I wasn't patient enough to wait, so I installed the TP Standard ROM.
Keyboard seems to work fine here, but fonts are somehow different...

Hi,
I have now running TP Standard ROM.
As many people stated before - it is very fast.
Thank you!
Though, there are few things I'd like to change...
For example this ROM has strange font in menus and keyboard,
is it possible to change it?
Also , volume control differs from what I am used to.
Current volume control layout is : (bottom->up) Vibrate->Silent->Volume level bars, while I am used to : Silent->Vibrate->Volume level bars.
Is there any easy way to change that layout?
Thank you in advance!

Guys with the soft keyboard problem, please post which value you have in :
HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\AvailableLanguages

Set it to :
0109
if it is empty or has some other value, and report if that helped.

NOTE: Soft reset is required after the change !
