Upon further research I found this link regarding outgoing mail problems:

Click this messy link (http://http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=d9d71b2e-d2dd-44f2-86e5-1e53aad7fb7a&displaylang=en&tm)

When I attempted to install the update, it said my version of Windows Mobile is incompatible :(

Would this problem be fixed in this ROM automatically or do I need to revert to some old crappy WM version to apply this patch if I want to ever send email again?

There's an extra "http" in your link address. I think you meant it to be this (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=d9d71b2e-d2dd-44f2-86e5-1e53aad7fb7a&displaylang=en&tm).

Actually, that link says it applies to:

NOTE - Windows Mobile 6.1.1 through 6.1.3

NATF's build is 6.1.5..

I'm still having issues with the Co-Pilot nav software. It worked fine up until v3.2 of the NATF ROM then started freezing. I got everything all loaded up after flashing the new v4 ROM and tested Co-Pilot on the way into the office this morning. As it did on v3.2, the app froze completely when trying to select a specific Contact location.

I hate to go back down to v2.2 after seeing all the imprevements in speed with v4. I haven't experienced any other issues as have some have mentioned. But I need the nav software and for some reason it's just not working as it did on previous NATF ROMs (meaning v2.2 and prior). I have aGPS set as not enabled. I can check to see if enabling this will make a difference, but I can't imagine this will make it work as previous replies to my pleas for help have suggested turning aGPS off.

The app just freezes when selecting a destination. Hmpf!

So, I decided to flash a newer radio to my phone, and see if that made any difference with my Exchange issue. At first, it had no effect. But then, I hard reset, entered my server info into the phone, and it actually started to sync! It enforced security policy on my device and made me set up a password, and then, nothing. It stopped synchronizing, and the "Sync" soft key became unresponsive. I closed out of Activesync, reopened it, hit "Sync", and it started to Sync, and then quickly stopped before actually doing anything. I'm going to soft reset and see if it'll work.

The one difference I noticed this time is that when I was typing in my server info, there's was an input box that showed up on the bottom of the screen as I typed. I had to press Enter after everything for it to actually input in the box. I can't imagine that its related to Activesync, but that's the only difference between what happened this time and all the other times. I think there was an error message when my phone forst turned on, but I didn't see what it was.

HTC Volume Control vibrate/ring issue is problem with new OS build 21009, don't see a fix on the horizon. but rumors that a new build is coming shortly, might address the issue.. or add more! :)

Same Problem here

Mine's working fine. I'm running NATF v4 Standard and I haven't loaded any new apps (yet). I upgraded from the stock AT&T ROM.

no theme at all, just a glass clock cab

So, was it working before you installed the glass clock?

I don't see why the radio would have anything to do with exchange. only call/data quality depending on the area you are in. Can't remember seeing if you ever posted your domain server address. how are you putting it in? also how are you doing your user name?
ex. owa.domainserver.com......office.domainserver.com. ..etc.
ex. captain@domainserver.com, just the user name captain, domain/captain,

I have had clients in the past (running ex 03 with self created sec certf.) where when it was the certf. that could not be installed varf that if you went to programs>>system>>AC>>config server>> and you uncheck the SSL option and try to sync again. if it sync's then you know thats it.

I know how to put in the info to set up the Exchange server. I've done it probably a hundred or so times. I had re-flashed to 3.2 yesterday and it was working fine. I re-flashed to 4.0 again today to give it another try. I can't uncheck the SSL option because I know for a fact that my company's Exchange server requires SSL (have to log in to OWA using https).

The fact that it almost worked now has me completely puzzled. I'm re-flashing the ROM (for the 3rd or 4th time now) and I'll try once more. I'm not sure how it'll make any difference, but at this point, I figure, hey, why not.

FYI - The error I had when it almost worked was for Voice Command. I've had a few Voice Command errors now.

EDIT: I apologize if I'm getting snippy. This is just completely frustrating, especially since I appear to be the only one having a problem with it. I really do appreciate everyone's help.

I like this series of roms, I have the v4.0 FUZE std, and my Raph reboots when in WMP (I am not sure but it almost seems like it is tied to changing the position of the fuze, could the tilt sensor have something to do with this?)

Further Observation -Then Again, perhaps it is not because it just reset when I launched media player and it was sitting flat on the desk.

Same here, I have no issues pulling up non mobile sites using Opera.

kennyb123 I know that some sites will actually sense a mobile browser and forward you to their mobile site. Engadget does this for sure, it does provide a link at the bottom of the page for the Full version.

What are some of the sites that Opera can't display in "full" mode?

Engadget is the main site I was thinking of. I don't want ANY website to sense Opera as a mobile browser. I don't want to have to scroll down to the bottom of the engadget mobile version and click "view full version" every time.

ESPN forces a mobile version. I'm not sure how their flash-super-heavy main site would fare on Opera, but, that's another one I remembered.

Here's a few more - www.fuzemobility.com, wmpoweruser.com, www.gizmodo.com.

So, anyone that tells me that these sites load the full versions naturally are lying, and have made some changes to their browser. It's those changes I want to know about! Thanks.

Hi guys,
Currently using ver 3.2, very happy apart from this small irritation. I can't seem to lock the inputs. In the original (three Australia) rom, I just used to hold the end key and get a lock, then tap screen to unlock. The option is still there in settings, but when I hit the end key now, all I get is the owner information (I've set it to display this on startup), then normal operation. I've tried changing it to give the menu on long press end key, all the other features (vibrate, airplane mode, end data connection) work fine, but not the lock. I tried a brief trawl through this thread, but ran out of steam after the first page of unrelated "lock" results. Is it a known issue, and is it fixed in ver 4.0, or is there a workaround I should know about?

I hear ya. I know they have SSL on since you have to use this to get to OWA, but the mobile is lil different. It does not have to be enforced. I just connected to a clients ex03 server by both using the web remote workplace with OWA using SSL and also on a mobile phone and had the SSL unchecked. Just give it a quick shot and turn it off. You've been doing the extreme and reflashing, this is just a few clicks. Not saying it will work but just trying to help you do an analytical problem solving. Get this tested and either you have just exhausted another TS step or you have gotten one step closer in getting to the root cause.

you also said you did no tweaks. so when you flash you are just flashing no UC?

for S's and Giggles, what format are you doing your server address and U/N?

i guess i have only been to sites that does not sense what device/browser you are on. i thought in opera if you go to settings and uncheck (default) view mobile but that was not it. i look at the source code for fuze mobility and indeed they have a script that is looking for a mobile device and then redirects to the wp-content (wordpress 2.6.2)
****
<link rel="pingback" href="http://www.fuzemobility.com/xmlrpc.php" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.fuzemobility.com/wp-content/themes/WP_Premium/taber.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
/* Optional: Temporarily hide the "tabber" class so it does not "flash"
on the page as plain HTML. After tabber runs, the class is changed
to "tabberlive" and it will appear. */
document.write('<style type="text/css">.tabber{display:none;}<\/style>');
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.fuzemobility.com/wp-content/themes/WP_Premium/hover.js"></script>
****
i then tried in IE to see if it does the same thing since this is a full version but it does the same thing (amazing enough it actually loaded the fuzemobility page quicker.) so ya that sucks. i hope i don't run in to this problem but if anybody has a clue how to force it to be a full site please give input.

i'm guessing that ping it receives back will tell if it is the mobile device or not but not sure. If so there must be a entry/reg edit somewhere that you can trick the sites into thinking you have a full non mobile browser.
NATF any thoughts on this?

I'm about to try this now. Of course, I have to hard reset first, because now my phone is getting stuck at the HTC logo screen. It'll give me a chance to reflash my old radio back anyway.

EDIT:w/o the SSL box checked, Activesync is just stuck at "Synchronizing", and isn't doing anything.

got it, both wifi and isp work now:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2991729

Edit:
Connection without proxy works both in media net and att isp, maybe include this as it also add wi-fi to java?

I tried this, and deleting the first registry entry mentioned in the thread indeed allows Java to connect using WiFi. Maybe that update can be made in the next ROM? I don't know if there are any side effects, but I can't imagine what they'd be, or that they'd be tragic or irreversible. I didn't notice any, myself.

As a side note, you would be able to get the certificates from your IT dept and install it manually. I used to gladly provide our exchange server SSL certificate to our users if they run into this kind of problem. It used to be a manual install process with windows mobile 5.0 (couple of years ago).

Give a try. That would eliminate your certificate theory.

v4.1 is going to be a hybrid based on Da_G's latest release, so hopefully stepping some parts down to 209xx will resolve the Exchange issue for everyone who's still having it.

Well, I figured out my problem. Its actually related to this post from earlier:

Here's another interesting issue: I have my 16GB microSDHC card partitioned into two separate drives, which has always been fine. Now, however, both HTC Album and HTC Music Player are only seeing my Storage Card (and not Storage Card2, where I keep all my Pics/Music/Documents). File Explorer and the Device see them fine, it just appears to be those two apps. Not sure why that is.

It seems that HTC Album and Music Player in this OS build don't see the second partition of the Storage Card correctly. So everything in the system was unstable and out of memory (causing freezes, lock-ups, etc) because these apps couldn't figure out how to read the data from Storage Card2. I took out the card and everything started working perfectly. I put it back in, and seemed okay for a while (Album and Music Player actually saw my pics & music, though they still didn't see Storage Card2), but it froze up when I tried to run iGO. I think I'm going to reformat the card with a single partition (I really didn't have a good reason for having it partitioned anyway), and hopefully it should make the phone happy. Thanks to everyone for your help!

Well, I still haven't been able to send any MMS messages..I have checked every config I can think of. Now I think it must be a registry setting that has changed somehow. I was told by ATT that if I cannot connect to media net then I will not be able to send MMS. This isn't urgent, just bugs the hell out of me that I can't do it!!!

Another issue I am having with the new build is when I use Slingmedia (Slingbox). Sometimes while I'm watching tv on the phone it locks the whole phone up. They just updated their software on the website to support fuze so I downloaded it and that seems to lock up more often then the previous version (which locks up occassionally but never locked up b4 with the previous version. Anyone else use slingbox AND IF YOU DON'T YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT UR MISSING!!!!!

This is the thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=457314)that NATF is talking about.

I think I can get it to work, trying it right now ...

... or not.

I have modifed the opera config file so that it sends out the User Agent as "Opera/9.63 (Windows NT 6.0; U; en)"

and I have verified it as well by going to this website (http://www.useragentstring.com), but Engadget still defaults to the mobile version of their site.

I guess I'll try a few other User Agent strings, but I dont know if it will help.

Using "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1)", Google loads the full page, but engadget still pulls up the mobile site, same with kotaku.

I'm lost at this point, maybe someone else can chime in on it?

Are you able to synch your phone with your exchange server now?

Yes, thankfully. Apparently it was just a matter of the phone not having enough memory because of my unrecognized partitioned Storage Card. Odd, I know, but it works fine without the card in the phone, and I'm in the process of unpartitioning the card and putting it back in to see if it still works.

EDIT: I didn't realize I didn't mention in my last post that my Exchange Activesync was finally working. I should've known it was unrelated to the Exchange server, because it wouldn't even sync to my local computer.

Did you remove the shortcut key for IM (fn + IM) in the registry or keypad.dll? How can I add the shortcut key back? Thank you

Just in case someone runs into the same problem.

I've been using WebMessenger and I just renamed the shortcut to "Instant Messaging.lnk" in windows/start manu/program to make the fn+IM to open the program.

It didn't work in v4.0.

I overwrote the keypad.dll w/ the one from v3.2 and the fn + IM worked right the way w/o restarting.

Also check if you can revert some of the Bluetooth from the old build.

I'm having issues reconnecting my BT Stereo headset that i've never had with any other rom or build. (have to remove device and reconnect completely)

And maybe i didn't notice it before but it also seems to be a bit slower at searching BT devices and the interface has undergone a slight change.

But might also be me mind playing tricks on me

NATF:

I have been looking for an Alarms/Timer/Stopwatch app for the fuze but haven't been able to find anything good in one package. CodeCity Alarms is the app that I have used since WM5. The problem is that when I installed it on the Fuze (NATF v3.2) it runs good but sometimes the phone pops error screens saying that it can not run CodrCity Alarms.exe or rapill.dll (or something like that), also you can set up alarms they never go off like you never set them. Activesync seems to be disable (the rapill that I mentioned before I think is part of activesync). Last its the fact that after softreset the HTC keyboard selection disappear leaving only the small PPC full keyboard, the only way to enable the HTC touch keyboards is unistalling the alarms app. If somebody can recommend me a good Alarms/Timer/Stopwatch app to replace this one, thanks a lot!

I change my fuze ROM all the time but your version is the most stable that I have tried, so since Dec 24 I haven't change the ROM :D also very few softresets not related to ROM. Thanks NATF and everybody that work on this project (School of ROM Cooking).

This are screenshots of the app:

This is the cab is somebody wants to help or try it:

As long as you have Video Share on your account, tapping the Video Share icon in the dialer should work. I can't confirm this since I don't use Video Share, and all my frenemies have Verizon.

So has Anyone gotten video Share to work?

I can confirm that Video Share is working on NATF v 4.0. However, this is a pain to use on this phone. First, you must establish an internet connection then go back to your phone call and the video share icon will be lit (provided you are talking to someone else on At&t using 3G and the video share enabled on their plan). But it does work..

Hi guys,
Currently using ver 3.2, very happy apart from this small irritation.

No problem with the screen locking with long end press. I tried it with Quick List, and by itself.

I'm having the same issue as LC. NATF, did you first add Owner Info to the device, and have that info show up when the device is turned on? I'm using 4.0, and if I use Long Press End Key to lock the device with those settings, all it does is show me my info, and never locks it.

It may not be updated with everything that has been established as bugs, but he does maintain a buglist. Check post #2.

Issues and Bug Reports:

[v4.0]

* SMS Unread Count: Multiple messages in the same thread must all be viewed to reset the unread count. This is not a glitch in my ROM specifically; it has existed since the 20xxx OS build. Update: There is a possible fix for this, but it requires cooking. I will whip up a batch of v4.1 sometime tomorrow and try it out.
* Stylus Drag-to-Select: Microsoft has begun to add touch scroll features to Windows Mobile, and for that reason, you can no longer drag your stylus to select multiple messages.
* The Volume Up and Volume Down buttons cause HTC Volume Control to pop up, but you cannot adjust the volume. Temporary Workaround: Press either Volume button, tap System or Ring, then drag your finger up or down the bar to change the volume. Note: Programs like Windows Media Player still work with the hardware buttons because they do not pop up HTC Volume Control when in use.

This first happened two weeks ago, when I play an MP3 in Mediaplayer the Fuze will reboot. I can play with the Manila player and no issues.

A couple things..I dropped my phone right before this started happening. Could this be a hardware problem?

After having some other strange items occur I flashed a new ROM and did not encounter a problem RRE 4.0. When I installed RRE 4.1 and NATF 4.0 the phone reboots with both.

Any ideas? This happens whether I'm using USB adapter with headphones or bluetooth headset.

I can tell you that I use Windows Media Player exclusively to play my MP3 library. My 8gb SD card is 70% full of nothing but MP3s. The bitrates range from 128 to 256 kbps. I have never had a reboot on my Fuze while using WMP.

80% of the time, I'm using the USB adapter into my car stereo. However, I do use my Sony BT headphones, and have experienced no issues

Didn't have a peak into your Sys ;)

But i'm refereing to the regular BT stuff

Bluetooth
BTDUN
Bth_A2DP
Bth_HID

I will try to see if i can replace them directly with Cabs (small chance) and report back.

Nope can't replace and test it by Cab.

But it's testable in one flash if replacing these folders in SYS causes a "There's no Bluetooth device connected" when going to turn Bluetooth on then something has changed for sure in that rom and it can't be fized with the above older version. But it just proves that something has changed in the system only we won't be able to know what ;)

I'm having an issue using iGO 8.0.0.x with 4.0 where the app starts, but as soon as I press a button, the phone resets. I've seen others report similar issues with WMP, so I'm thinking its probably ROM-related. Just thought I'd note my issue. Hopefully 4.1 will fix everything!

Also, HTC Music Player seems to be having trouble finding all of the music on my Storage Card. Windows Media Player and CorePlayer can see and play it fine. Anyone else having similar issues?

EDIT: I stand corrected. It finally found all my music. I guess all it needed was time.

The patch did not identify my version of Windows Mobile as 6.1.5, but as "6.1 AKU 1.6.0.0 build 21009". Also, while Microsoft says that the problem is fixed in version 6.1.4, the problem DOES exist on my Fuze with NATF 4.0.

Just to be clear, I know that this is NOT NATF's fault. I understand this is a problem with Windows Mobile! So for people reading this post, don't think anything less of NATF's work because of this problem, think less of Microsoft!!!

My email works when I set it up, but if I fail a send, all sends from that point forward fail until I delete my account and create a new one. I don't know what if anything can be done about this.

At least I can still check my email by navigating to my email website...

Sometimes people don't provide the first boot splash in their Roms so the last one stays in.

Sometimes we cook them in on purpose because they're cool and it will force those that don't know how to change the splash screen, to ask the question that we can then answer. (Could have almost been a House M.D Quote)

You could try to download the Raph Kitchen. Not to cook with it but to do only one thing.
Check if a rom has a splash screen included.

Just throw the Renamed DIAMIM.nhb to RUU_signed and throw it into the kitchen base rom folder.
Then press the begin batch file, Press one then enter, Press enter when it asks until it stops asking and exitst

Eventually 5 extra files should have appeared (or less if the boothscreen is missing):
00_Unknown.nb
01_SPL.nb
02_MainSplash.bmp
02_MainSplash.nb
&
OS.NB

If you have the 02_MainSplash.nb it means the cooked rom has a bootscreen attached.

If it's not there it can't be extracted from the rom.

Or am i missing something?

2) How do you get your data (the real reason for having the phone) restored after flashing a new ROM (I am using Sprite backup that came with Fuze, and wondering if I am creating the problem by restoring some settings that are no longer appropriate with NATF 4.0

Using Sprite shouldn't break anything (don't quote me on that, though). I have a folder on my Storage Card with all the cabs I need to reinstall, and I do that every time I flash a new ROM. I think that sometimes its a good idea to install everything one at a time, so you can see how each program interacts with the new ROM. So, maybe I take back what I said about Sprite, then. Some of those programs may not play nice with the ROM, like OCN/iGO.

you shouldnt be using sprite backup between roms, unless I am mistaken it can cause some issues with the registry and files in \Windows. If you want to be able to quickly install programs that you know you will always install first thing out of a flash, look at user customization here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337. Then also backup contacts and other portable data with PPCPimBackup, gooogle will find.

1) OCN8 (OnCourse Navigator - American version of iGo) is rebooting my Fuze when I try to look up a POI and set it as the destination. I have previously been running this program under Factory ROM and NATF 3.2 with no problems.

This happens to me too, I thought it was the program itself.

I have a similar icon set based on this one (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2834673&postcount=193), but I modified the cab to include a vista-style start button. You can find the cab in my 4shared account that is linked in my signature.

I use massi's icon set too and bias toward it. I think it would be better for ppl to chose their own.

Nice icons! Anyone object to including these in the ROM?
I'd like to see these. They look nice.
WMP is working great for me. I have an eight gig card with many songs on it.
The 4.0 ROM is working pretty well for me. I've only had the phone for five days, so I am still learning it's new features.
The only problem I can't find a fix for, is bluetooth with my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. While other phones work great, the Tilt and tyhe Fuze do not. I have no idea if this is a Nissan or a HTC problem. If any of you have suggestions (other than a new car), please let me know.

Best regards,
Gary Funk

Go here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3135660&postcount=1501) or you can replace tsowentaskbar5v1.0.cab with this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3135831&postcount=1507) if you need just Crazy's icons.

So no one is having a problem with Slingmedia? Am I the only one that use it! Its the shiznit!!!

You can also tell when flashing from SD. The flashing prompt will show Splash and OS if a splashscreen is included.

Help me understand:
1) New ROMs by Da-G = we are trying beta copies of MS Windows Mobile with undocumented features (problems and solutions)?
Stuart

Technically, as soon as you step away from a "ship" ROM, your in the realm of beta.

Personally am partial to the current set, but they are easy to replace either way, I think the battery is a lil harder to read with this one (just installed the cab linked on the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3135370#post3135370) Either way I think would be cool, just might want to provide the location of the cab to get the old ones in case.

Agreed. The font on that will likely be difficult to read, considering where it'll be on the screen and its size.

The icons would be installed as a CAB, just like the current battery meter is. If you don't like them, simply uninstall them.

NATF, thank you for all you're doing. I knew that this was all "beta." What I meant was I thought you cooks were using stable proven copies of Windows Mobile and tweaking features and customising programs, etc. It slowly dawned on me that you are getting unproven copies of Windows Mobile. It's the "Old Man" fear in me.

Anyway, I'm going to try hard resetting 4.0 and make sure I'm not introducing any problems by restoring Sprite backups from earlier ROMs.

As I said, I could not remember the exact patch or SP needed for Exchange 2003. I just know a guy at work could not get his going until he convinced the Exchange people to applied some update. I personally do not like using the feature. I have been offered a Blackberry, a Treo and several other "toys". They do not require anybody to carry one, but if you take one, they expect you to respond to emails you receive all evening and on weekends. That is the reason I will not take the "toy" or get my Fuze using Exchange until they require me to do it.

Here's some links on how to fix it.

http://www.amset.info/exchange/mobile-85010014.asp
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=817379
http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=146952

Of course, be sure you work in your company's IT department and/or have permission to do this, or do it on your own personal server.

In its infinte wisdom, Outlook Mobile has issues if SSL is required for connection and forms based authentication (i.e. web page) is used. One of the pages explains that Activesync makes some internal calls that SSL supposedly screws up.

The last link discusses that the connection needs to be created on the PDA itself.

Generally, the fix involves either using a front end server to connect or having to redo the website in IIS and modifying the registry. It doesn't look fun and looks a bit time consuming. I'll have some time tonight to try it.

I haven't tried any of these, so if anyone is able to do it before I get a chance to, please report your experience!

On another note, don't know if it's been reported or not, but alarms were having issues this morning. I would try to turn it on with the time and date set, but when I hit ok, it wouldn't actually turn on the alarm despite it being checked. Soft reset took care of it.

Super

Well, the fix I posted here worked fine. Syncing over SSL. Only had one issue and that was with SSL certificate pointing to my domain instead of the server. It didn't like that. Changed the certificate and I'm good to go.

Thought it would have taken awhile, but I did it in under 10 minutes.

Super

I use OCN8 which is basically iGO8 and it has worked fine for me since I added

No, it's different than that. I had to add the [device] entry as well to get the app to run in the first place. Then I used it successfully under factory ROM and NATF 3.2. However, under 4.0 the app will run for awhile then crash sporadically (I finally had to quit searching for a funeral home POI last night after my 5th crash). I just typed in the address, drove to the funeral home, and OCN8 crashed again when I got in the parking lot.

See what happens when you search for a POI (instead of address) and let us know how that goes. Thanks.

I'm waiting for at least 4.1 before I flash, but the general consensus from everyone has been that the GPS is lightning fast with 4.0.

On another note, if you guys want a little volume boost out of your phone speaker, this link has your cab in it. Don't choose the 2nd cab unless you want to blow the tiny speaker out. The "Audio_Lighter_Boost.cab" is absolutely perfect - now I hear my txt and ring notifications much better. It does help to choose sounds that are higher pitched vs. lower pitched, as the tiny speaker can handle higher pitches better at a louder volume.

iGO is still crashing for me as well. I got further than I had by preventing it from importing my Outlook contacts, but it reset my phone when I hit the Menu button (I had had been navigating for about 5 minutes). I haven't used WMP to play anything yet, and I also haven't tried streaming BT audio yet (for which I use the HTC Music Player). I know some people had reported issues with that; I should see if it works for me.

Exactly. I keep 4 phones on my account. They are setup to expire between every 3 to 6 months. So, I pretty much have an upgrade available whenever I want one.

Luckily for me, my wife and parents don't want a new phone until theirs is dead or useless.

i'm having serious memory issues with the V4 standard rom. the memory usage percentages continually rise, even after closing all programs, freeing up ram using sktools (actually using the free up ram tool takes up more ram...), and opera seems to have a memory leak but i'm pretty sure that is fairly well known by now. also have issues with quickmenu launching programs or settings or any window. seems to have a glitch with the sound, took me 15 minutes of continually increasing the volume before it stopped putting itself back on silent. SMS's occasionally wont mark as read when viewing them, also will occasionally not go to the threaded style. tends to lag alot when pulling out the keyboard but that is probably just related to the memory issues. i miss some calls because it doesnt notify me untill they hang up. I'm using the ATT version of this phone (Fuze) however i do not use att as my carrier which is why i wanted to change the rom. this was my first time flashing a rom but i read all the "noob" guides and it seemed to work fine. did i miss something/get the wrong rom or are there just more bugs??

also, i did not flash the radio. the one that came with it seems to work fine. these issues would be related to that would it?

3. had opera on natf xda thread. was not showing log in so switched to ie. natf pulled up and started to enter un. got one character and decided to open in ls view. system bogged down to crawl. acted lick cpu was pegged out. had to soft reset as everthing was too slow to wait on exit so soft reset. have not tried to duplicate as i wanted to write this first and may not be able to get back on today and wanted to post b4 4.1

SO I've been running NATF v4 since the night it was released and am pleased to say it is very stable. It was a bit laggy at first, but after an hour that cleared up.

The only odd thing I am experiencing is when texting. I read the message through TF3D and hit reply. I then slide it open to use the keyboard, but when I do, the reply screen rotates to landscape for a split second then reverts to landscape home, from which I have to hit 'messages' and then select which conversation, only then can I reply. and just yesterday, it was going to the phone app ion landscape instead of home, but now it's back to reverting to the home screen. It's not a killer for me because this version has so much more positives, but weird nonetheless.

Anyone experiencing related issues?

I have had this happen too. I don't think its NATF, i think its TF3D because when I wait an extra second or 2 after hitting reply and then slide the keyboard open it stays in the message reply screen.

For any of you early flashes of this ROM, was version 2.2 better, or 2.3? I like the fact that 2.3 has the better GPS drivers and it should like battery performance was better... but there were also a lot of complints due to the 'newer' build of 6.1.

Just wanting your humble opinion out of the two. Thanks.

I have experienced similar but i don't believe this is related to rom as i had this happen in stock rom and previous v's as well. It does not happen all the time. Maybe because i wait a second or 2 every now and then? I will try that now.....

ya i have tried it both ways. if you wait a sec or two its' fine. if you select message and then open it right away it's intermit. out of the 10 times i tried only once did it go to L.S home after waiting until i saw the message for a sec.

I have this same problem (as I've already noted). It does seem to work with the newer series of iGO versions, however (8.3.2.x).

I must revise the above statement. I was using iGO 8.3.2.x without incident, but when I was on my way home yesterday, I must've done too much, because the phone reset on me. I was also playing Music with the HTC Player, and had the phone connected (via dongle) to my car cassette adapter. I was also finally able to get iGO 8.0.0.x working (at least to some degree) by adding a line to the SYS.TXT to keep it from importing my Outlook contacts. It still conked out on me while navigating though.

Almost all of my issues seem to be SD card related. My Storage Card still isn't recognized immediately by HTC Album, and even when flipping through the pictures, it appears a bit laggy (and there's been ample time for the card to be indexed). I even tried optimizing the settings with SKTools, but it seems to have had no effect. But I love the solidness of the GPS fix with this ROM! (using 1.02.25.28 radio). Its stable enough, for now, at least until I flash 4.1 . . .

Could the issue be with the SD card slot driver in this ROM? Of course, you'd think everyone's experiences would be similar then. I'm sure I have no idea what I'm talking about.

This is what I have been suspecting. My main problems are the windows media player soft reset when reading off the card and Garmin XT freezing and sometimes not seeing the card. Many iterations of this problem caused my drive from cape cod to staten island today to be very unpleasant, as i had to keep soft resetting, take out of dash mount, take off case, remove battery cover, reinsert sd card otherwise phone wouldn't recognize than put it all back together at highway speed, then have to renter address info. What a pain. Have gotten by without media player by using Mortplayer. All my problems stem from SD card related items.

I already have this in the sys.txt file and it still resets when I enter a navigation point or POI destination. Mind sharing your sys.txt file to see if I'm missing anything? If not it's cool too. Thanks.

It is the original sys.txt with only that single addition, but here it is. Oh and I forgot, after your post I was concerned, so I used OCN8 on the way to work today and it worked fine.

Must say NATF's 4.0 does seem solid except things read from the card. Movies, music and some programs that are loaded on the card just don't react like they should. Movies will cause a reboot of the system in a very short while. Did not have this problem with 3.2 but 4 did fix other problems. Loading things on the main will fix the problem for the time being. Hoping 4.1 addresses this issue.

i have seen a small issue. This has happened with previous v3. When i have the phone plugged into USB to PC i turn off the phone (sleep). I have the power saving rules set up to turn off back light after 1 minute when plugged in to pc, and then 2 minutes to turn off screen and sleep. without fail every morning (only time i really have it plugged to PC) when i come to check on the phone it is on and dimley lit up.

Not a big deal except it's just using more life of the screen and unneeded. does anybody else have this problem?

I noticed this last night when I charged via the wall charger. I normally charge via USB and it does not do it when connected via USB, so I thought that might be normal. Does yours only do it via the wall changer and not when charging via USB?

Hello,

I flashed v4, and I absolutely love it! Love the vibra touch settings, as well as the new File Explorer.

Quick question - I have my Long Press End Key set to switch between Vibrate/Ringer. But when I hold the End Key down, the icon stays the same as if the volume is on, but the phone vibrates.

Before, it would vibrate if I was changing from Ringer to Vibrate. If I did the opposite, it wouldnt vibrate.

NATF, I just installed your 4.0 Fuze Standard ROM on my Fuze, and all I can say is WOW! My Fuze is flying like nobody's business, the GPS is so fast I almost cried and I have more free storage room than an out of business server farm lol I have installed a lot of ROM's over the years, but none have been as trouble free from the get go as this one, thanks again for the hard work and the awesome job on these ROM's! You have put a lot of hard work and time into this I can tell, this thing is so tweaked and full featured I hardly had to add or do anything to it! Oh, be sure to check your PayPal, a little New Year's present is on it's way :D

how about NOT automatically. i hit the power button and turn it off manually. Still will be on the next morn.

I do remember my phone turned on today sitting on a desk. Some alert.

I charge my phone by USB every night, and it never turns on... no matter how it shuts off.

It does seem a bit . . . squished. Was this Comm Manager taken from a Blackstone, perhaps?

They look more like Upscaled then Squished and HD Commanager would probably be cut of a bit in the bottom part.

Attached Diamondish Icons, Copy over to Windows with Total Commander.

I don't see anything weird with the Comm Manager icons...

I tried reflashing twice, so would it be a registry setting?

Any ideas???

Known issue with this build. No fix yet.

It is the original sys.txt with only that single addition, but here it is. Oh and I forgot, after your post I was concerned, so I used OCN8 on the way to work today and it worked fine.

Unfortunately it still resets. Thanks for your help.

On the full Fuze version in the Communication manager it uses non default icons that are pixlized.

The Zip Noonski attached fixed it for me :P

im not a big fan of the vibrate on touch, can you make it so its uninstallable. also i was wondering if u updated any gps drivers or anything related for this release, with 3.2 it would take me atleast a couple of minutes to get a lock on satellites but with 4.0 i get it almost instantly. huge difference.

I wish I knew why I was having so much difficulty with GPS - since I'm currently backpacking around Asia, it would be just about the most useful feature the phone could offer, yet I've been utterly unable to get a lock no matter what I do (had it on for 3omin+ while walking around outside). Are you using QuickGPS too? Which radio? What software are you locking with?

NATF, why not just ask people to PM you to become beta testers like dutty used to do? Scout out beta testers that you can trust and rely on, that way, before you release a version, you will have most common kinks worked out?

gooooOOOOO GATORS!

had another round of testing and before i go pass out; tried showing off new son again stored on SD in Album view.
1st i notice i have to choose "all" (majority of time and will happen soft reset and while closing and opening album). then i have to choose album again before i see storage card option. this time browsing one of the of the folders for pics under storage card option i started browsing the thumbnails, quick browsing this time no lag except thumbnail refresh. choose picture to make full screen. don't know if it happened at this time or when i tilted screen since pic was taken in this format to expand full screen but it froze. It actually rebooted the phone this time after about 15-20sec of it stalling.

It can only be Provided in Rom as it was Provided in an AT&T rom (i'm not sure which Rom it was again)

Using the hybrid of 21009/20954, AGPS is once again being finicky. iNav would not open until I disabled AGPS, and soft reset. That being said, it still locked on to my location within 30 seconds (no jumpstart).

My sashimi installs everything, several items to the card. Gamrin, Music, Movies. I play movies with both CorePlayer and WMP, same for music. I have not had a reset on my phone that I didn't cause :-)

XC

Must say NATF's 4.0 does seem solid except things read from the card. Movies, music and some programs that are loaded on the card just don't react like they should. Movies will cause a reboot of the system in a very short while. Did not have this problem with 3.2 but 4 did fix other problems. Loading things on the main will fix the problem for the time being. Hoping 4.1 addresses this issue.

First notes on 4.1 beta: havent done a whole ton of testing, the volume button issues seem fully resolved, both with volume keys and long end, show and stay correctly and vibrate notification is correct as well. AGPS on by default, thought you wanted to change this. active sync is working, though havent yet loaded any memory tweaks, though dont think i need to this feels snappier then 4.0 or 3.2. Will put those in though to see if the same memory issues persist. Havent had a chance to test gps yet, will do soon.

I was considering leaving AGPS enabled since it actually worked in 4.0. See my edited post above... due to the AGPS issues returning, I'm going to remove all the AGPS server info, and just provide a CAB for people who want to use it.

I concur with nableezy. The only issue I was having was with the volume buttons which seems to be resolved.

The PTT button is not working at all. I get this: The file 'PTTMod' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found...

Tried soft reset and still no go. Will try to reflash and will change my post if anything changes.

I tried to include the latest one you sent me, but it wouldn't work. The buttons didn't map correctly in Settings. Also, is there a way to have the names of the buttons defined? When I had your app included, I could remap all the buttons promised, but none of them were labeled to know which one was which.

I looked through the RGU in the OEM package, and all of the buttons seem to be hard coded to the Start Menu structure in my ROMs. It may be better to code the buttons to the duplicate shortcuts that exist in \Windows. For example, instead of coding a button to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Multimedia\Windows Media.lnk, use \Windows\WMPlayer.lnk.

I am using the standard at&t radio rom 1.02.25.32 with TomTom 7.4. With 4.0 I did not even have to use QuickGPS, for some reason it would just connect within seconds all the time. However with every 3.2 and below it would take forever to connect I have no idea why.

HTC Album still seems to hate my Storage Card. I'm using a 16GB SanDisk Class 2 card. It'll show the pictures on my card if I select "All", but it never lets my actually choose Storage Card as my Album. This is also causing Camera to delay. This was never a problem prior to 4.0. Pictures & Videos also seems to be taking a long time to access the pictures on my card.

iGO still causes the device to soft reset when run.

HTC Music Player seems to be recognizing the music on my Card okay now.

I'm sad about aGPS, though. It was working so well in 4.0.

I did notice a small issue with 4.0 that seems to also be the case in 4.1: At times my data shows connected, but Weather won't update and I can't access the internet. If I terminate the data connection, and then force it to reconnect using Opera or Weather, it usually seems fine.

I still can't turn on the Data Connection using the Comm Manager, though it can still be turned off (says "No data connection exists").

Activesync will still not sync with my Exchange server with the Storgae Card inserted. Once I remove the card and hard reset the phone, it will complete its initial sync, and then I can re-insert the card, and it seems to work going forward. This was also never a problem prior to 4.0.

Ahh, that would do it. I made some changes the Da_G recommended, and repackaged it this morning.

Also, are you planning to put the new keyboard driver in 4.1? If not, you can delete most of those buttons anyway. They rely on the keyboard opening the correct shortcuts. (You only need 40C6,C7,C8 without the new keyboard driver.

I did notice that I couldn't toggle MSDP prior to setting up my Exchange account, but I didn't think that the Data Connection was dependent on that. If I recall correctly, I could toggle the Data Connection on and off in the Stock ROM, and in 3.2. I'll reflash 3.2 again just to confirm. I got that to work once, but now its taking so long to load "All" my pictures that it never even gets to the point that I can select "Albums" to try and see the Storage Card.

EDIT: I was finally able to get it working. I just had to wait a while for the phone to finish finding all of my pictures. It never took this long on previous ROMs (besides 4.0), and I could even have my Card partitioned.

When you set an album as favorite, the box that pops up is skewed (see attached pic).
