yes i checked the whole sd card... my pic's are gone:eek::(
i just did a full format on my sd card (didnt know it takes +40mins) and hopefully it will fix all this...
also is slide show working for you... it just goes black screen for me...
Bro, it shouldn't take that long to format an 8GB (I think). Something is wrong with your Card. I can't help you there
Anyway, I have a question: What exactly is Uploader in Settings>System ???
It seems that I can't do anything with it.

I have 3 small bugs on 4.1 (No way is it a dealbreaker)
1.Blank Slide show won't show pictures.
2.Comm Manager won't let me toogle Data Connection
3. Long End key can't be remapped and does not even work after a hard reset with its default assignment.
If a 4.2 came out and fixed these minor bugs it'd take a lot to ever move from this release at it is near perfect.

Re. 3. - the long end key works OK for me. End (Hold) is assigned to 'EndKey' in Buttons and I'm using 'Set Vibrate/Ringer' in the Long Press End Key setting, and that seems to work fine.
Number 1 and 2 are still issues. Sounds like the slide show issue will be fixed with a different version of HTC Album. Really, the most annoying issue for me right now is the scrolling problem in the email inbox, which has been mentioned several times.
In any event, I've spent the weekend swapping between 3 or 4 ROMs and have settled on NATF's. Even with these issues, it really seems the nearest to perfect for my tastes.

GPS works alot faster then ever for me on 4.1V

Yeah, I addd the line to the sys.txt file on the storage card, too. OCN8 (under NATF 4.0, 4.1) doesn't crash for me generally until I go to look for a POI. Are you able to successfully find a POI and get back to the map screen without locking up?
The port defaults to port 4 for me, but I'll try changine the baud rate when I get ready to reflash 4.1.
Thanks a bunch,
Stuart
Stuart: I deleted then reinstalled OCN8 & did hard reset. It worked great including being able to successfully find a POI and get back to the map screen without locking up...until I set up & ran Microsoft Mobile Device Center Sync to my PC (Vista)...now same OCN8 freeze problem.
I am thinking about going back to v3.2 because running OCN8 is important to me but rather not because I otherwise like v4.1…did you find any other solution???

I can't figure how to get rid of the add word box while I texting. When I text this black box sometimes comes up with a word does anyone know how to turn that off?
I don't know if anybody remembers but this was an issue in a previous release. i beleive 3.0 or 3.1 and then it was corrected the next release. it may have been a little different then this but almost the same. I think the little difference was it shows you black box but it would put that word in the txt box after you hit enter. this one just shows you it but does not auto insert.

I finally managed to reproduce the issue with Windows Media Player rebooting the phone...
Coming down on the plane, I did not have any playlists created, and all my MP3's played fine. But, as soon as I created a playlist, and added "System" by In Flames, my phone reset as soon as it tried to play it.
The weird thing is, System plays perfect in TF3D, and WMP when not started from the playlist.

Are you still on the stock radio? My GPS lock times improved with 4.0+ but was still well over a minute compared to the seconds others were quoting. I flashed
1.08.25.08 (Diamond, requires Security Unlock) as it was the same one NATF uses. My GPS now locks in under 30 seconds sometimes as little as 5 secs.
My stock ROM was 1.02.25.32. I flashed 1.08.25.20M1 last week to see if I could tell any difference. I think the voice calls may be a bit clearer, but GPS seems to be about the same as .32. I have not unlocked my phone yet, so I have not tried any non-Raph radios.
Considering the improvement you got with the Diamod radio, I guess I'll unlock the phone this week and try that radio. :)

Using your ATT Full Rom - I dont use play lists - but have many gigs of mp3's on my card. I have it set to "shuffle" and as soon as I attempt to move to next song it reboots. FWIW I tried aruppenthal rom and had the same problem.

I didn't test the issue of creating a playlist... However, my device reboot every time I play 3 min of a *.WMV file (movie from Storage Card).
I have the feeling that something is wrong with the way how this ROM manage memories.

I don't know if this will help at all, but I run Conduits Pocket Player 3.71. I have had Zero problems playing mp3's by themselves, in shuffle mode, or in a playlist. I have not done anything special with my 8GB microSD card.

From my limited experience with the WMP problem, it seems like its caused (or exacerbated) by the amount of music you have on the storage card.
When I first experienced the problem I had my 16gb scan disk card full of about 13g of music. I backed up the card, formatted it per instruction, then loaded only 1g of music and everything seemed to work fine. As soon as I put the other 12g of music on, the problem resurfaced.
Anyone else notice the problem better/worse depending on the amount of music?
I have not ever set up any playlists and I've not really tried playing music through TF3D so I can't speak on those issues.
--Edit-- Also note that the problem with me didn't seem localized to any specific file(s). No matter what song I was playing it crashed without fail within the first 30 seconds or so.

I haven't done any real testing in this regard, but I've only got a 2GB Sandisk card in there at the moment, so I don't have that much music. I'm generally getting a crash after 5-6 seconds after playing -- generally pulling music up by selecting an album from WMP's library (will try some boundary testing if I find some free time this evening). TF3D Music players works fine for me.

It has something to do with T9 my words. The black box is coming up when there isn't that word in the phones dictionary. I just can't seem to turn it off. I have word completion off I still get the box so no luck...

After playing with WiFi yesterday, I noticed that I do not have a Data Connection today. No Weather and no email. The phone reports that Data Connections is ON, but I cannot connect. Email says "Error Connecting" and Weather says "Cannot connect at this time".
So I've dropped back to NATF v3.2.
On a positive note, I've sent a little monetary appreciation your way, NATF. Enjoy your vacation in FL!!

I got rid of the black box by going into an application where the black box appears, and pressing the "T9" button on the keyboard (FN+right arrow), and selecting "ABC" from the menu. For some reason, even after disabling all the options in the Input menu, this still showed up as "T9" for some reason. After that, it seemed fine.

I encountered this on many different ROMs and even with my old Tilt. I have no idea what causes this, but a soft reset always fixed it for me. Usually it happens with internet browser crashes or connection gets interrupted by a phone call.

Bro, it shouldn't take that long to format an 8GB (I think). Something is wrong with your Card. I can't help you there
<snip>
There's nothing wrong with taking that long for a full format. My 16GB takes about an hour to do a full format. Quick formats are not recommended in this instance because, if the card is the problem, a quick format probably won't fix it.
We are all suffering from #1.
If you have an app running that requires a constant connection (IM clients, etc), #2 will be a factor because the connection will reconnect the instant the app notices the connection is down. If I toggle with no apps running, it stays disconnected, if I have fring on, it reconnects immediately. Otherwise, data toggle works as it should.
Long End is also confirmed as functional for me, with exception Device Lock. That may be linked to the "Device Lock" home item...but I don't recall that being the case.
You are referring to the Radio, not the ROM itself. And the radio doesn't manage GPS, that is managed by a driver in the OS ROM itself. Radio only manages cell/data connections as far as I can recall. There may have been something else it controls, but I know it wasn't GPS.
I noticed this as well. I went into T9 settings (FN-T9) and unchecked "Word Completion in ABC mode". The black box went away.
I still get it even with all T9 settings off. And the registry change to compime resulted in the numbers only issue with the diamond sip. eT9 is also proving a hassle. I get random freakish issues when I modify the eT9 translations. Working with Da_G to get it working right.
From my limited experience with the WMP problem, it seems like its caused (or exacerbated) by the amount of music you have on the storage card. <snip>
--Edit-- Also note that the problem with me didn't seem localized to any specific file(s). No matter what song I was playing it crashed without fail within the first 30 seconds or so.
I think one of the WMP modules are corrupted or incompatible with other components of the hybrid build. If you recall, we've had issues before with unstable hybrid builds using these newer "betas." I have yet to get my WMP to crash or my phone to reset with music...but I do use only MP3s and I also primarily use coreplayer for my daily media needs. But even my targeted tests showed no instabilities.
I am using the NATF 4.1 and am not able to send emails out. Any leads on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
first of all, thanks for the great rom. It's nice and clean and very quick.
However, have a problem with the data connection on my fuze. It doesn't allow me to switch it on. Am I doing something wrong?
I chose HTC Fuze v4.1 Lite. Is this the reason?
Thanks in advance
Hmmm....I just installed google maps and the data conncetion kicks in. So why does it take that to kick it off and not opera for example? Very curious....
Spoke to soon..the data connection says its switched on but it still doesn't work :(

ALL,
Looks like some XDA masters have been able to take a Chinese Blackstone and grab the "in call recording" app. and turn it into a .CAB file. There is a mui file that needs to be copied into \\device\windows for translation. I hope that we can all try this out and hopefully get this in the next ROM if all works well with it. I will try it out and post about it in the next few days.

I mentioned this a while back and it is still a problem. For those of you who say they have no problem, here is how you can reproduce it:
Step 1) Get somewhere where your outgoing email will fail due to lack of reception
Step 2) Attempt to send an email (it will fail because of Step 1)
Step 3) Return to anywhere you have reception
Step 4) Realize you can never send another email until you recreate your account
Even if you follow these steps, you MAY still be able to send email. Here is what goes on in the background according to Microsoft...
When you send an email and it fails Windows Mobile 6.1 looks for an alternate outgoing server. Your email provider may or may not have an alternate server defined. If this alternate outgoing email server is not defined, Windows Mobile sets your outgoing email server to a null value in the background. Your actual outgoing server will look like it has remained the same, but on an invisible level Windows Mobile is now attempting to send all emails through an undefined server without telling you.
This bug is only triggered when you cannot send an email for a legit reason. After this happens, WM does something in the background that screws over your outgoing email server that you can't do anything about. The acknowledged this bug and made a patch but they claim it is fixed in 6.1.4 or higher.
Now, I can only black box test, but from my tests the exact same problem exists. I do not know if the chefs can fix it or not.

Took a look at the debug log:
RaiseException: Thread=86b23690 Proc=80457470 'filesys.exe'
AKY=ffffffff PC=03f69900(???+0x03f69900) RA=80047f18(NK.EXE+0x00047f18) BVA=00000001 FSR=00000001
EXCEPTION_RECORD(80456400(???),ffffcb64(???),0,3f6 9900,0)
That's the crash line right there, filesys.exe handles the filesystem so its probably a problem with XIP.. unfortunatly I can't duplicate the problem on my end, can someone come up with an explicit set of steps to cause the bug to happen (i know I read something about playlists, but its working on my end still)
Once I can duplicate the bug i'm sure I can zap it from XIP and we'll be all good again :)

NATF - First off thank you VERY MUCH for all your work cooking up ROMs.
Now onto the problem... I use Live Mesh and have been using it on most 2.x, 3.x versions of your ROM but now with 4.1, Live Mesh installs, starts then vanishes without even an error page.
I suspect it may have to do with SQL CE but am not sure.
Any ideas on what is going on? Anyone else use Live Mesh and is having issues on 4.1?
UPDATE - I have since done a hard reset and installed ONLY live mesh on 4.1 and voila... it works. Perhaps another program was the culprit - will revise my post if I figure out which one.

Please advise - thanks
Where did you get Live Mesh for WinMo? The site still says "coming soon." I use Live Mesh on my Desktop and would love to have it on my Fuze!

Nevermind. Found it... For those interested, go to this address in Opera to download: http://m.mesh.com/install/wm6/LiveMesh.cab
If you need the SQL CE cabs, ?might solve the issues mentioned above?, go here: http://cid-b6b1a627fbae21e5.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/Public/SQL%203.1%20cabs?uc=3&wa=wsignin1.0&sa=626260128
I'm going to give it a try now.
Ok...I had to play around with Live Mesh to get it to let me log in. First off, the sqlce cabs are worthless because you can't install them in v4.1, they fail. I had to run Mesh, let it close itself...did this several times. Then tried to remove it via Settings>Remove Programs. It will fail, told it not to remove the entry from the list, went to programs, ran Mesh, and it came up. Entered my credentials, and it told me the Mobile Preview is only available to "limited number of users." So I can't use it.

I have noticed a significant lag when adjusting the volume. I have also noted a long wait when trying to change to the notifications tab in settings. Kind of annoying. Especially since everything else in the ROM is quick.
I did notice the volume adjustment lag but it only happened with Mobilematts Fuzeberry 6.0. I do not use it anymore and all is good now. I do not have the lag with the sound and notifications tab in settings.

Hi, I have installed v4.0 and now my entire phone freezes to the point where no buttons work and I have to take the battery out to do a reset.
Here are the two scenarios:
1. Phone is in my pocket pull it out to make a call, screen is black, nothing turns it on short of battery in/out.
2. Using phone, sms, IE, or Opera and phone completely locks.
Help! I don't want to go back to stock ROM, so SLOW!

after flashing the rom did you hard reset? if not, do that now. You will loose your data. hold vol down, circle, press soft reset. keep holding vold down, circle until you see the screen that say's press vol up. if you did not do it, do it now. see if the problem goes away.

Hmmm so the fix does not work on 4.x roms because of the newer os but MS says the fix should already be in there... Sounds like Redmond flucked up again!
This bothered the crap out of me until I found the fix! I hope someone can figure out what the M$ cab does and creates a cab for 4.x users...
Anyone?

I use SMS-CHAT by VITO and have it mapped to the PTT button. for some reason wtih every version up to 4.1, it would start a few times with the PTT button, but the the program wouldn't open at all. Is there any way to get the keys in the button menu that are editable in 4.1 to be editable in 4.0?

Hi,
first of all, thanks for the great rom.

First off great ROM, but there are a lot of issues that seem to be with it, so I was wondering if the ringtone fix for the v2.3 ROM was something that anyone had or if it was something that needed to be cooked into it to make it work. If not, is there a ringtone manager that might allow one to circumvent this issue? I love 4.1, as it is fast as heck, but with the issues it has, 2.3 was the last one that had the speed I loved, and aside from the ringtone reset issue it was perfect for me. Any ideas anyone?

I installed 4.1 on Sat. evening and I have been loving it since. I went from Stock ATT ROM to this and the difference is remarkable. It makes you wonder how the stock rom was ever approved for release! So far aside from installing the curtains, and a few other cabs, it has worked flawlessly. As an aside even the radio seems better, although I am on stock radio....
My one question, would it be possible to cook something like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=461222 - Remote Tracker into your ROM?

This version works for PTT, PTT (Hold), Long Send
Unfortunately, the new version of PTTMod requires the keypad.dll from version 4.1, which I don't think can be added outside of cooking. I would throw that particular question to Da_G. He should be able to tell you if you can add it without cooking. If you can, let me know, and I'll get you a CAB for the new PTTMod.

That is basically the SAME THING that happens with OCN8. OCN8 works great until I set up partnership & sync for the first time with Vista (x32). Then as soon as you start OCN8 it freezes Fuze and then phone does soft reboot. VERY FRUSTRATING so I went back to v3.2...slower but works...perhaps Live Mesh will work with v3.2 also.

Same here I believe. I reported OCN8 worked in v4.0. I figured I would go back to v3.2 if OCN8 did not work. I installed v4.0 and did not make any of my changes before testing OCN8. I did not think to try it again after all my stuff including ActivSync was setup.
I thought I was good to go, but installed v4.1 yesterday. I got all my changes done last night also. I needed to go to a site I had never been before and sure enough, the phone crashed and rebooted as soon as I entered the destination and it tried to compute the route.

I'm using 4.1. I don't know that this does not occur in the stock ROM (sorry for the double negative), but I don't think so. It definitely didn't happen on my Blackjack I with the same headset.
I have my phone setup to do a ring and vibrate. If I answer the phone using the bluetooth headset, the phone seems to activate the phone mic slightly before it switches to bluetooth and mutes the phone mic. Also, the vibrate seems to last through the beginning of the call for a second or slightly more. Thus, the caller hears the phone vibration at the beginning of the call
This can be very annoying to both the caller and to me.
I don't know if this happens without the headset either.
Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Well that is two applications that have a problem with "Window Mobile Device Center" partnerships with Vista. This has been tracked down to be the issue causing OCN8 to crash also. My OCN8 worked fine in v4.0 although other people were having the crash issue. I did not think to try it again and establishing my partnership. I am now having the issue with v4.1, but I have a partnership. I can get by without OCN8 until I have a trip, so instead of going back to v3.2, I will wait for a ROM that corrects this issue.

Took a look at the debug log:

EXCEPTION_RECORD(80456400(???),ffffcb64(???),0,3f6 9900,0)
That's the crash line right there, filesys.exe handles the filesystem so its probably a problem with XIP.. unfortunatly I can't duplicate the problem on my end, can someone come up with an explicit set of steps to cause the bug to happen (i know I read something about playlists, but its working on my end still)
Once I can duplicate the bug i'm sure I can zap it from XIP and we'll be all good again :)
I was able to add multiple files to a WMP playlist, and everything was fine. The reboot happened for me when I messed up and instead of adding "System" to the playlist, I selected it to play. The screen went black, and the phone rebooted.
Since this rom has a few bugs is there gonna be a v4.2 version or is there gonna just be a few updates to fix the bugs?

As stated in the beginning of the thread, you can find out more about UC here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337
Posting your questions in that thread is advised as it is considered the "one-stop shop" for UC matters. Ya, i know what you are talking about. It's not just the quick vibrate that lests you know the connection is established. It's a ring vibrate. I can also tell you that when you select answer or the button on the BT Headset that it does turn on your mic and then looks like it mutes (not muting just transferring to headset).
This was the issue i reported back in 4.0. When i upgraded to 4.1 it went away. I thought i was something with the rom. If you are having it and now i am not it may be with the pairing. try to unpair and pair again. let me know if that solves it. i am using a jawbone Noise A.

nothing will be lost, ou only have to gain by flashing this ROM. There are a few bugs, but if you read through the thread you will see what problems are currently going on, and decide if they will influence your choice. NATF has all the original programs from the stock ROM included on the first page, so download that and just install what you want from the original ROM and leave the rest of the unused junk out.
Hope that answers your question.

Thanks for the response. According to NATF's first post, the only known issue is "Stylus Drag-to-Select". Is that still the only bug, or is there a list of others? I'd prefer to avoid reading through 850 posts if possible...

Does this mean that I will lose the programs already on my device, including those I installed myself? Any other data loss I should know of? (If I should already know these answers from a guide or something somewhere, a link would be appreciated...)
Hope that answers your question.

I decided since neither 4.0 nor 4.1 worked with my Co-Pilot nav software, and of the problems experienced with WMP shutting down, that I would go back to a previous version of the ROM.
Both issues were introduced in v4.0 and have not been corrected in v4.1. I checked both v2.2 and v3.2 and all works well in those ROMs. So I am currently running v3.2 with Co-Pilot and WMP working as they should. I have added a few cabs and I'm sticking with this set up for a while.
I'll bet there's additional speed and whatnot in v4.X, but I spent hours tyring to get my phone with desired apps back to proper working order and I am ready to stop the fiddling for a while.

Thanks for the response. According to NATF's first post, the only known issue is "Stylus Drag-to-Select". Is that still the only bug, or is there a list of others? I'd prefer to avoid reading through 850 posts if possible...
There are some issues going on but most are not show stoppers. You would have to look through the last several pages (maybe the last 10-15) and judge if they would apply to you.
Does this mean that I will lose the programs already on my device, including those I installed myself? Any other data loss I should know of? (If I should already know these answers from a guide or something somewhere, a link would be appreciated...)
Flashing a new ROM will result in losing all the applications you installed and the data on your device. Any data saved to your storage card will not be lost though.

One major consideration is whether this is going to fix my issue, which is disabling sleep during calls. Anyone know if this will help with that...?
No, I don't believe so. This is an issue being looked into by many...I don't think I've seen a surefire solution yet.

If this is something that could be worked in, that would be awesome. I figured this would be something that a custom ROM would at least assist with, since this "feature" is occurring at around an OS level, I presume.

SO I've had version 4.0 installed on my Fuze since the night it was released. But my issue doesn't pertain to any particular version of NATF's roms because it has happened before on previous NATF roms. The first few days of an install everything works like it should (aside from the known bugs), but a few days after install, internet connectivity seems to go out on me. Neither Opera or pIE work while on Edge, however GPS works blazingly fast (lock in less than 10 secs) as well as the weather app. I'm not sure if I was connected to Edge or 3G when this happened to me before in previous roms, but I just turned on wifi and it works great.
Anyone have any suggestions? (I apologize in advance if it has been covered, I've been a daily reader (multiple times a day, actually) since the beginning some 300+ pages ago.

So I'm having troubles with my Fuze and the keyboard shortcuts.
It seems the FN+SMS key goes to Windows Live Messenger instead of SMS. FN+IM shortcut goes to the "Messaging" selection, which is fine but I'd rather have it similar to stock hotkeys.
Is there a way around this?

After my first hard reset and having everything set itself up, I had to do another soft reset for everything to fully take. Also double check your media.net settings (details can be found elsewhere in the thread w. search).

Hi there all :) Having a bit of an issue with the my HTC Fuze's screen not turning off. On battery power, when the screens turns on (either by pressing the power button or a notification, alarm, etc. turns it on), the screen will not turn off again. After 30 secs the backlight does go off but the screen remains on. I checked the backlight settings under the "Power" settings and the screen is supposed to turn off after 1 minute on battery power. I played with these settings, soft reset the device, etc. but nothing fixes the issues. Needless to say, this is very annoying since is drains my battery life very quickly! And since the screen comes on quite often because of incoming mail and notifications, the screen is always turning on.
Anyone else have this issue? Any idea/solutions out there?? Thanks!
EDIT: Problem solved. I had to disable the the settings to both turn off the backlight and the screen (in the "Power" seetings), reset the device, and then enable the settings again. Then my device's screen would turn off.

There is a .cab running around called noSleepraph.cab that you should be able to find that keeps the phone from going to sleep whenyou answer the phone.
just as a note, when you flash your phone, you loose all information stored on your phone. SD card is left alone. When you install programs to your phone, just store the .cabs to the SD card so you can reinstall them when you flash. You can also keep them on your computer, and use cabviaactivesync which is a really cool program that lets you install .cabs from your PC to your phone without moving them over first.

All of those buttons are customizable through Start->Settings->Buttons
Also make sure you "reset" the mapped buttons if you move shortcuts in your start menu. The Buttons work off Start Menu shortcuts.

I know that Agenda view is the default view for Calendar. There may be an issue with the way that TF3D is calling the Calendar app.
Try having the Calndar open, but running in the background and then tap on the day you want to see from the Calndar Tab in TF3D.

are you talking about the ATT bars with the annoying swoosh sound? if so that is the one NATF switched with his custom one. they have talked about this i think a couple of times. look back at the last 10-15 natf post and he put a link in there for someone else that asked. from what he was saying is that this is not set in most roms so it won't change it. He just had some file in v4 that had a command to overwright the current one.

This is the way that TF3D does it, no matter how you have calendar set, when you call it out of the home screen, that is how it apprears. On the other hand, the left soft key is calendar, and will call it up in what ever you have it set to.

Using Start -> Settings -> Buttons
All of those buttons are customizable through Start->Settings->Buttons
Also make sure you "reset" the mapped buttons if you move shortcuts in your start menu. The Buttons work off Start Menu shortcuts.
No longer true... they now map using shortcuts in \Windows\.

I can't seem to get eT9 to completely disable the auto suggest and such...no matter what I do. It is turned off on both keyboards (port./land.) and in the T9 and input settings completely. It like to randomly pop up with both hardware and software keyboards with it's suggestions and eT9 words and it totally messes with my smooth and speedy typing skills.
I have done several HResets and I can't shake it...but oddly, I haven't seen much mention of the issue which makes me wonder if I'm the only one having it. I'm digging around the registry for the settings so I can kill them manually...anyone wanna supply a specific list of the keys associated with these settings so I can make sure I get them all?

Ya, i know what you are talking about. It's not just the quick vibrate that lests you know the connection is established. It's a ring vibrate. I can also tell you that when you select answer or the button on the BT Headset that it does turn on your mic and then looks like it mutes (not muting just transferring to headset).
This was the issue i reported back in 4.0. When i upgraded to 4.1 it went away. I thought i was something with the rom. If you are having it and now i am not it may be with the pairing. try to unpair and pair again. let me know if that solves it. i am using a jawbone Noise A.
For the record, I've always had delay issues with my Jabra headsets (BT150-mono and BT620S-stereo) and answering calls since the Tilt. There is a moment where the caller can hear noise and even the end of my ringtone sometimes before it switches to my headset fully. I've just learned to live with it. I think it's something to do with the BT stack being slow to make the switch within the audio gateway and certain headsets or something like that...I read about it in an MSDN blog way back in the day. I just wait until my Jabra's do their "pickup" beeps to tell me it has "answered" the phone.
I've mentioned it twice already and NATF is working on it.. It possibly will be fixed in v4.2
Oh, ok...I didn't know that that was the exact thing I reported...it was so many pages ago! (I swear, I read 500 forum pages a day!)
Do we even have a temp fix? This version was looking so promising until this issue presented itself. This is really the only mentioned issue I've been wrestling with. (I've given up on my GPS issue for the time being because I'm convinced that I'm merely overlooking something since I haven't had good GPS in several releases now.) The only temporary solution I can see doing for now is switching to COMPIME and use my hardware keyboard for everything...which I tend to do anyway.
I can't understand why it would behave so randomly on and off like that...it's like "pick a f*cking direction already!" lol
Oiy! I have such a headache!

I FIXED IT!!!!!
Ok...this was like a spark of inspiration from the mystics or something...
This is what I did and it worked like a charm on the eT9 issues...no more random eT9 popups!
1. Perform the reg changes to switch from xt9ime.dll to compime.dll
a. Change HKLM>System>CurrentControlSet>Control>Layouts>e0010409>"Ime File" from "\windows\xt9ime.dll" to "\windows\compime.dll"
b. Change HKLM>System>CurrentControlSet>Control>Layouts>e0010409>"Layout Text" from "eT9 IME" to "COMP IME"
2. SReset
3. Change Settings>Input settings to your liking.
4. Perform the reg changes to switch from compime.dll back to xt9ime.dll
a. Change HKLM>System>CurrentControlSet>Control>Layouts>e0010409>"Ime File" from "\windows\compime.dll" to "\windows\xt9ime.dll"
b. Change HKLM>System>CurrentControlSet>Control>Layouts>e0010409>"Layout Text" from "COMP IME" to "eT9 IME"
5. SReset
It seems that changing the settings with eT9 IME loaded has no effect. You have to change the eT9 settings with it not loaded, then load it. Wierd. But it's working out great so far! :D

after flashing the rom did you hard reset? if not, do that now. You will loose your data. hold vol down, circle, press soft reset. keep holding vold down, circle until you see the screen that say's press vol up. if you did not do it, do it now. see if the problem goes away.
I had not hard reset. Oops. I have now but it's no better, in fact it's locking even more often. It think it did freeze once or twice prior to ever flashing it. I guess I need to flash it back to fully stock and return it. It has been 17 days since purchase.
Do you think that not hard resetting right away could cause this?

How do you get shortcuts into the Windows directory?
As I stated before, there is an issue with the ROM and the keyboard shortcuts. I'm mainly interested in the FN+SMS one.
When I go into the Start->Settings->Buttons and try to remap, there is nothing close to "SMS" or "Text Messages" in the drop down menu. Closest I've found is "Messaging" which still requires quite a few button presses to get to SMS. Can you add shortcuts so that they show up in the drop down menu?
Thanks again!

I believe that does the same thing as step #1 of my instructions above. The problem with leaving it in this state, as mentioned by NATF, is the chance that the SIP will get "stuck" in numerical mode after some random period of time. My fix appears to permanently fix the issue without side effect. I'm currently submitting this post from my Fuze and am typing at my usual pace with no problem. No x|eT9 interruptions, no SIP numeric issues. I just hope NATF can find what is breaking the control panel when it is actively being used. Something being locked as R/O is my guess.

That's a hit or miss kinda deal. The last time I tried compime.dll alone, it took about a full day before the numeric keyboard glitch presented itself in Full QWERTY. NATF can vouch for this. He tried using it in a previous ROM (v3.0 or v3.1, I think?) and had to post the "Restore xT9" fix to reverse the change. yes, very possible. you may have a bad flash. to rule it out, flash again and when it gets to the screen for alignment do a hard reset. (vol down + circle push + s reset) and see if that resolves it. make sure you take out your sim card and SD card if present. put them back in once all of the customization is completed. if you were saying you had an issue with freezing b4 it could be a processor or memory issue and you would be best returning it if you are still under the 30 day limit. NOTE: it has been reported in the past that people are getting returned fuzes repackaged. you can call warranty and give them the phone ID and they can tell you when it was 1st activated. if it was 1st activated b4 you purchased it you may have a used phone and shame of att. good luck.

Under 4.1 Live Mesh is hit or miss. Sometimes it boots, other times it closes right after launching the program. I saw some others had the same problem, but there seem to be no fix for this. It worked fine under the last rom I used (v3.2). Any ideas? Thanks.
Just to update, I tried 4.0, 4.1 Lite, and 4.1, and all will not work correctly with Live Mesh. The program keeps closing after it launches.
I went back to 3.2 and it works fine. I am guessing it has to do with the new OS that was integrated into v4 roms.
I am hoping that this is something that will be fixed in the new version of Live Mesh that is supposed to be released later this month.

Earlier this morning I installed NATF v4.1 on my Fuze, replacing the stock ROM. I'm impressed all around, but I've run into a quirky issue. I reinstalled and ran Pocket e-Sword, but I found it largely unusable. All the icons and dropdown boxes are sized for a QVGA display. This wasn't the case on the stock ROM, so I'm not sure what's different. Maybe it's just improperly implemented VGA support in the program. If anybody has any ideas, I'd be grateful.

I am not doing this to be mean - but rather to teach...
Click on the word "Search" (third from the right) on the menu bar near the top of the screen. Type in your query (in this case "select multiple emails") and click on "Search"
Start looking at the pages Google brings back. The third hit looks useful.

This is something that has been an issue since originally buying my Fuze. Unfortunately, I flashed the first NATF ROM a day after I purchased the phone, so I'm not sure if it's related to the ROM or Opera.
The issue is specifically with Opera. Sometimes, I'll open the browser from the TF3D Internet tab, but my start page (google, XDA, whatever) won't come up. Instead, I'll get a local page with a big red bar that says "ERROR!". Of course, other sites don't work. Opera is simply not able to use the Internet connection until I start/stop the data connection under Comm Manager.
Other services work just fine. I can sync email, send/receive texts (not sure about MMS), and pull down weather updates (I think).
Any ideas on how to fix this? I do not believe it is a network or proxy-related issue. I believe it is an Opera issue.

H=3.5G, which is faster than 3G=3.0G. The wonderful world of ROM cooking releases the full potential of the phone!
Why do i have an H in my taskbar now, how do i get back edge and 3G
i asked this question, H = 3.5G 3G= 3.0 so this rom unlocked the full potential of the phone
I am new to this and recently wondered the same thing. From what I read, I do believe the response to be true but possibly misleading since the subject is quite confusing. I believe that these new ROMS/tweaks really unlock access to HSUPA if you are on ATT in America. HSDPA (the downlink) was already enabled so either
1.ATT just suppressed the H icon and always used 3g so as not to confuse the average person. Makes since since all the marketing hype is based on the term "3G" and downlink speed was still HSDPA (dubbed 3.5g as well)
2.H was not used since only HSDPA was used and not HSUPA thus it was technically not HSPA (term encompassing HSDPA and HSUPA)
From this post (thread is informative discussion on this issue)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3013589#post3013589
&
from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445850&highlight=HSDPA&page=9
After enough poking around in enough assembly code to drive a man to madness, i am confident in saying the following: (pertaining to at&t fuze stock rom, have not examined others)
* The hardware and software both support HSDPA 7.2/HSUPA 2.0
* The software limits HSDPA speed to category 6 (3.6 Mbps) (reg key HSDPACat)
* The software disables HSUPA entirely, limiting upload to 384 Kbps (reg key SupportHSUPA and reg keys to remove hsdpa/hsupa tab from advancednetwork)
* Both software limits are carrier options given by HTC.
So when you're looking for someone to blame for the fuze not being as fast as it could be.. blame at&t :)

1. Now that I have IN CALL RECORDING (thank you Jesus), I'd like to get my short_PTT button to bring up Resco Call Recording. unfortunately, winmo doesn't look for it's ancillary program files in the /programs/resco/ directory. A) Is there a way to map that directory for windows, b) should I simply copy the resco files to /windows/ , or is there some very simple way to accomplish this without getting the ancillary file error?
2. Since LONG END PRESS KEY is in ROM, I'm assuming there is no way to remap this to Wireless Manager or something else? Ideally it could be mapped to any ap or some ap (unkown to me at least) that would allow airplane, vibrate AND ALL comm settings on one screen.

That has bothered me as well. I have found the following solutions that work best for me.
1. Screen locking at night (while connected to ActiveSync) works best with Gyrator 2 or GSen. Create a rule to turn off screen when device is face down. Gyrator also does screen rotation for all apps, really cool!
2. Button and screen locking with PocketShield. This lets me take phone calls with drag-down curtains & locks my screen allowing me to unlock with action button, curtain drag or shaking device. Also TouchLockPro is OK.
3. For just answering calls with a curtain drag, this is nice:

One major consideration is whether this is going to fix my issue, which is disabling sleep during calls. Anyone know if this will help with that...?
Re: phone display shutting off seconds into a call. I've read here (or previous NATF thread) that the changes for this were included in the ROM build...but my experience with both 4.0 and 4.1 seem to prove otherwise. I too also installed NoSleepRaphael cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2698895&postcount=614)to resolve it. NATF stated however that this cab changes the gyrometer settings to a very high value, essentially shutting it off. I've found that if I install ChangeScreen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=465586) (very cool program in it's own rite) afterwards that I get the functionality back...plus much more...i.e. any program's screen rotates (except those you exclude) when you turn your Fuze.

xboxmod and other have been working for a while now and finally have it working on touch Pro. so if anyones been waiting for the Stocks tab - this is the place.
still a little buggy, but looks really cool
I installed it today. Only real problem I had was after configuring anything you had to either soft reset or run the start up for it. When its running it runs great though.

Why do i have an H in my taskbar now, how do i get back edge and 3G
If you really want to slow down your Fuze by backing down to Edge or 3G instead of the faster HSDPA/HSUPA, then go to start -> settings -> connections -> Advanced Network and disable HSDPA/HSUPA.

I just tested it again and it worked. Tried both sides and the phone light stayed on.
Use the show option in changescreen and switch to the phone and make sure you are putting the correct name in the exception list.

Thanks for all of your help!
You are not using this case http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467023 by any chance? I received the clear version of this case the same day I flashed NATF's V3.2 ROM. I was getting ready to flash back to the previous version when I happened across the thread above. I removed the case, problem solved. The case went in the trash and I received a new case I am happy with Monday.
I also flashed v4.1 Sunday which unfortunately stops OCN8 from working. I am waiting until NATF creates the next ROM and see if it fixes OCN8. If not, then I will go back to V3.2 as it had nothing that was a show stopper for me.

does anyone else have this problem? is there a solution?
A search isn't even necessary...just check the first posts of this thread...NATF lists the "bugs" or other important information. This should have been the first thing you read!
Correct me if im wrong but this is a known problem with both Email and Text Messages...
It's not a problem, it's a change to support new ways of doing things...see my statement above.
NOTE: If you are reading this and HAVEN'T read the FIRST 4 POSTS OF THIS THREAD, then STOP NOW and GO READ THEM NOW!

Not to be mean... but maybe it should be stated on the first page that any posts that ask questions about topics already covered will be ignored... Most of these threads are clogged with one person asking a question asked 10 times before then answered 5 times each time with posts pointing the person to the original post....
Way too many questions on what the H means... as well as the multiple select...

Seems like a good idea, but the guy who found it also makes themes, so while making a theme he compressed all the correct files.
Technically, NaTF would only have to do it once, but imo it would be a waste since most people end up using other themes anyway, and unless the theme switched to is compressed, then the time NaTF put into it is kinda wasted...
Its Late, and thats my opinion...

@JoeTheFro: Well you might be right. people do change themes and so forth.. well for people who wants this might have to implent it manually then, or wait for theme makers to make a suitable theme that uses this method... well it was just an idea anyway ;)

Does anyone know how to enable the "Mark as Read" option in Text Messaging? It works for e-mail accounts, but for SMS its greyed out. It would be helpful for when I'm restoring my texts after a flash from my computer using Jeyo (it doesn't thread them, but at least I don't lose them all). Its completely time-consuming to have to open each and every message for it to show as read (even if it DID re-thread them, I'll still have to do that, because of the threaded message bug).
Just wondering if anyone knew if there was a registry entry or something to enable it. Or, am I the only one without the option? I'm currently using 3.2, but if I recall, I didn't have the option in 4.1 either.

also after i soft reset am getting the "logon to sever window" asking me for user name and password and domain for media net ... i think it has something to do with the data connection in (communications) its not working it says "no data connection exists" but when i update the weather or go on opera it connects... but i can't connect to data using comm manager...
This happens to me all the time when I turn the phone off then on again...but I've been just canceling it and it doesn't seem to affect anything.
It's annoying so I've been looking to see if anyone knows how to solve this problem but I haven't found anything so far on this thread...anyone know what's happening?
Also, I see something else different. I've watched the phone change from "E", "G", and now there's an "H" network. I know of E, G, and 3G...but I've never heard of H. What is this?

It will still benefit people who change themes since 7MB less ROM will be eaten up by the original files that don't get deleted.

Please remember to use the search button at the top. There is a search button that will search the entire site, you can search by forum by going to that forum and clicking the search forum. You can search a thread by opening that thread and clicking... search thread...
Either way, a simple search for "3G icon" will give you a very nice selection of answers, most of them valuable.
However, I'm still going to provide you a link (within this thread no less) directly to the answer.

I see bunch of other ones from different forums (plus problems lol)...
So I was wondering if the chef can put up the cab for that?

Nevermind.... I found it after all

BUT! After installed and change the registery and did a soft reboot... I can't SEE IT! I get my usual H, Half of the Signal bar, and then empty... then a my drop down Task Bar... What else do I need to change to get it to work?

Just a note as I see some of you have been discussing CFC:
For a chef to enable CFC support for his Manila package takes about 1 minute, it's literally a push of a button.
For those who want to use CFC on a ROM that doesn't come with support for it, there is now CFC Live Patch tool.
Both methods are described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2798454&postcount=6
Note that it is not so much that you should CFC compress your entire Manila package if you don't want to, but it's nice if your Manila support CFC for when themers want to use it.

This is a long overdue thanks for NATF for the 4.1 rom. I also love xcsdm's button mod.
But I do have a few problems I like to point out that I also noticed some others mentioned but did not receive an answer for. It seems like you can map the contacts hard key on the fuze to go to contacts, but it does not work for me. When I press the button it does nothing. I also tried mapping the FN+SMS key (which is the same key is the contacts key) to go to SMS inbox but it doesn't appear that option is available.
So how can I map SMS to go to the SMS inbox? and how come my contacts button does not go to contacts? Does anyone have these problems? Many thanks.

Okay... I did a forum search and yielded no results.
File Explorer seems to be very limited in tweaking... so here is what I wish I could do.
I wish I could view more of the filename in portrait mode. Why does it only fill half the screen, and then use the "dot dot dots"? It's wasting half of the screen real-estate.
Is there a reg-tweak to let it show more characters?
Landscape is better, but I wouldn't mind being able to allow that for more characters too, and either remove the date and file size fields, or let it be horizontally scrollable to view.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

If you are on v4.0 or v4.1 there are some issues with the memory cards that can cause reboots. One is playing music. It reboots when I use OCN8. There is another program that also causes reboots.

You do not need a reg tweak. It works just like in Windows. Just take your stylus and put it on the black vertical line to the right of the name label and pull the line as far to the right as you want.

If you manually copy the SMS.lnk from the Windows folder to \Windows\AppButtons, you'll be able to map the button to SMS.
As for the Contacts... I don't have a problem there. You might try copying the addrbook.lnk (I think that's how it is spelled, but you'll see it) to \Widnows\AppButtons as Contacts.lnk

Anyone know how I can get AE Button Plus to handle the PTT button in NATF 4.1? I know the settings are there in the system menu, but I like the further customization in AEB.

You do not need a reg tweak. It works just like in Windows. Just take your stylus and put it on the black vertical line to the right of the name label and pull the line as far to the right as you want.
Duh me, huh?
Well, to be fair, I didn't have those black vertical lines when I was typing the question. For some reason, playing around with it, they showed up. Thanks!

I just got done flashing my first rom, and I can't believe how much nicer this is than the stock ATT rom. I've only had my fuze for a couple days, but, Wow!
Thanks for the hard work, this is really amazing! And I've only just played around with what you've installed on here!
The haptic feedback on touch is really nice too!

I'll eat my shoe if that is ever possible.
You are not on the Sprint network - no it's not possible.

Anyone? I already did a bunch of searches (not just here but on other forums too). I've never used a custom ROM before, let alone this one so I don't know where to start.
With the stock ATT ROM I knew how to do it, but this ROM completely deleted the system PTT directory/key and I think I needed that to be able to map it in AEButton Plus.

I'm even more amazed now! Even after running programs it doesn't lag up like with the stock rom! And the battery meter looks much better on the fuze than it does in the screenshots.
On top of that I have Tomtom 7 working on this! To think I was actually thinking of returning my fuze a day ago!

Respectfully disagree, Joe. I get NATFs ROMS (since the Hermes days) and just stick with it. I could give a flying f about aesthetics. I care about functionality. Of course, I'm a bit of a cro-magnan man, but whatever.

Thank you NATF for cinsidering implenting cfc gui.. thank you chainfire for letting it happen too ;) well i agree with HHumbert rather speed than needs.. well what i mean is if people still wants any new themes they could just disable tf3d and install the normal and then install a theme or so forth.. or might work just to try diamond tf3d config...
well some of the newer roms of NATF uses some more ram than the older.. we need to look on methods to keep the roms by low ram ussage and low internal space.. well thus lesser the tf3d uses thus better for the rom..
chainfire states: Patching TF3D to be able to use CFC compression also allows theme makers to make faster and smaller themes.
:D:D
cfc gui might be the new thing ... and theme makers might begin to use this method and in future all tf3d themes might patched using cfc gui... ;)
