Anyone? I already did a bunch of searches (not just here but on other forums too). I've never used a custom ROM before, let alone this one so I don't know where to start.
With the stock ATT ROM I knew how to do it, but this ROM completely deleted the system PTT directory/key and I think I needed that to be able to map it in AEButton Plus.
I WAS using AEB on 3.2, but not 4.1
short_ptt file takes higher priority over AEB. So you can go to Start -> Settings -> Buttons and assign single press PTT with that, while use AEB to assign 2-Press, 3-Press, and Long Press with AEB. That's what did in v3.2 ROM

hey guys, i love the NATF v4.1. i was messing around with my friends Sprint touch pro... i have att. and i copied the Sprint tv .cab to my fuze and i got it to open work BUT the only problem is that the channels to not come up so there is nothing to view. IS the a way to get the Sprint TV working a att Fuze? If someone can make it work... you would make not my day but my year!!!:D
I'll eat my shoe if that is ever possible.
You are not on the Sprint network - no it's not possible.
Well, you can save your shoe. You'd have to route your data through Sprint's data proxy to use their services. The only problem is that I'm pretty sure that Sprint uses individual logins for data accounts. Without service with sprint, you don't have a login to the data proxy.
I believe that does the same thing as step #1 of my instructions above. The problem with leaving it in this state, as mentioned by NATF, is the chance that the SIP will get "stuck" in numerical mode after some random period of time. My fix appears to permanently fix the issue without side effect. I'm currently submitting this post from my Fuze and am typing at my usual pace with no problem. No x|eT9 interruptions, no SIP numeric issues. I just hope NATF can find what is breaking the control panel when it is actively being used. Something being locked as R/O is my guess.
Well, I regret to report that the problem has just reappeared, despite my fix. I went back to my do my fix again and saw that none of the options have rechecked themselves...it simply is ignoring BOTH dll settings now. I'm at a complete loss and I'm flying to LA in 4 hours. This is completely annoying. Luckily, I'll have my laptop with me so if NATF can find a fix, I can flash while I'm there.
*crosses fingers* Lemme know if I can be of service...

Thanks.

I ran cab file for disable Xt9 and now Qwerty keyboard doesn't work right. I can't toggle between Letters and Numbers stuck.
Is there a cab to restore Xt9 ???
I searched but couldn' find anything?

NATF has a cab for that :-)

If you manually copy the SMS.lnk from the Windows folder to \Windows\AppButtons, you'll be able to map the button to SMS.
As for the Contacts... I don't have a problem there. You might try copying the addrbook.lnk (I think that's how it is spelled, but you'll see it) to \Widnows\AppButtons as Contacts.lnk

I just noticed something (sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere). The Cprog.exe which I believe is the phone part of the windows mobile takes up about 12MB of memory while touchflo takes up around 8MB. These values of course change depending on whats going on but I found this surprising that this was the case. I am not too familiar with how things work in Windows mobile but maybe the cprog.exe application may be a possible place to look at in cutting down memory consumption, maybe not. I don't really know but I thought I post this to see if anyone could utilize this info and maybe find another way for NAFT to optimize his ROM.
Sorry for all the extra artwork junk, I was playing around with the new Paint in the Windows 7 beta

Have you tried manually backing it up?
Yes. It throws an error:
Error Copying File
Cannot copy 'cemail': There has been a sharing violation.
The source or destination file may be in use.
I have been searching, reading, trying every hack I can find and I still have not been able to copy this file. I can only guess that this might be done at boot-up.

On my Treo 750 - during a call I had the ability to SWAP calls merely by pressing the listed call. Now I have to scroll to it while on the call in menu list. Any chance this capability can be included in a future release or is this a dialer only function?
Also- to make ICR work, I've had to overwrite your dialer with a slide to answer (which is inane, ridiculous and evil). I guess it has something to do with the new dialers allowing expandable menus in PHONE ap or something. In searching for dialers, I don't see any that have either of these features but of interest for the future at least.
Thanks so much for everything NATF. You and XDA have made the Fuze actually enjoyable.

I've done a search on this and so far I haven't come up with any answers...I'd like to completely disable the zooming feature of the fuze and only have it scroll when using the d-pad wheel.
I've tried using SensorScroll and Diamond Tweak to make this happen, but it gives me no more scrolling capability than the 4.1 NATF ROM package gives.
Is there anyway to completely turn of zooming and only have it scroll (I'm ultimately trying to get scrolling working within e-mail and text messages).
Thanks.

Hi all,
Hopefully you can help me. I just flashed the v4.1 ROM and after the initial reboot my phone just sits there with the splash screen and the red numbers in the lower right hand corner and in the lower left hand corner there is a red "U". It has been sitting on this screen for about 45 mins. I decided to do a HARD RESET but no luck it just gets stuck on the splash screen again. I have the SIM card and Flash card out of the phone as well. I can't re-flash the ROM because the phone is not recognized when I connect via the USB cable.
I have flashed this thing at least 10 times in the past without issue. What can I do now? Any ideas or have I bricked my phone? Help :confused:

I use IE to browse my Winamp Remote. However, it's not working correctly. It seems like that the Menu -> View items are NOT WORKING!
It's always STUCK to "Desktop View" regardless if you switch "Mobile" or "Desktop" View. AND! this is the worse of it. The Text Size is stuck a Small or Smallest... I CAN'T SEE! Changing any settings DOES NOT EFFECT the screen.
PLEASE HELP!

You can still reflash. Do what you've done to hard reset without holding the center button and you should be in the bootloader screen. Then connect the phone to your computer and do run the flashing software and it should now work.

No issue here. If it's broken, one of your installed apps must have done it. ;)

oaa8,
Wow... thank you so much..!! That worked like a champ. I re-downloaded v4.1 STD just to make sure nothing happened during the original download, re-flashed again, and damn if it still doesn't hang on the splash screen. I tried it two more times after that and gave up. I'm going back to RRE's v4.4.5 for now. The strangest thing is after flasing back to RRE's ROM I still saw the NATF splash screen and the red letters. Oh well, the RRE ROM still loaded up OK and all is well again. Hopefully NATF v4.2 will work better for me in the future.
Thanks again for your help. This is a work phone and I thought I had just bought myself a $500 paper weight..!!

Hi guys!
I am still loving this ROM!
I just read the last 1/4 of this thread as well as the bug report in the first post.
Here is a problem:
1 - The phone reboot while listening to a song off my SD Card, using WM.
2 - The phone reboot while watching a movie on YouTube.
Other than that, things are going well.
Ever since I loaded up 5GB of MP3s (which may or may not be a coincidence), I've noticed the phone become a bit more sluggish. I wonder if it's cataloging MP3s in the background or something.
The most sluggish part is the TF3D MP3 player. The phone could freeze for a good 20 seconds sometimes. It's rare, but it happens...
Too bad about those reboots!
Overall, really well-done, though!

i believe ur referring to the curtain in TF3D. i was also confused about this..
the curtain was removed as a mod as part of the rom.
the replacement is at the bottom of the fourth post under "add-on cabs". It should be the 3rd down that list as a rapidshare downloead

Yes i see this and can verify it.
Love this rom btw. Very first rom i ever flashed. I am using fuzeberry 6.0.0 and i love it. it freezes a couple of times. And i have to reboot every few days due to lots of emails. around 66 or so and growing. I should delete it. But i love this. Its great. I want to add some extra stuff like making the flash a flash light. And i saw on youtube a cool 3d screen with balls, that moved with the scroll botton outter portion, and it was completly 3d. It looked awesome. Dont know what that is. If anyone has any clue i would love the cab. Thanks.
And thank you again NATF, and everyone envolved in this. If it wasn't for your roms, these phones would be about as boring as off white walls in a square room. Thanks again.

Hi guys,
I made a change to two of the settings in Advanced Config, and I would like to change them back to NATF's original values. I forget the default for one of the settings.
Can someone please quickly confirm the following?
File System Cache Size: 8MB???
File System filter cache: 131072 sectors???
Glyph cache: 32KB
Are those correct, or is something different?
In addition to my sudden reboot during WM and Youtube yesterday, this morning I was adding a Favorite to Opera, and next thing you know... Reboot!
I know I made a change to those values, and would love the original numbers. Thank you!

Todd, are you familiar with suiller and his ROMs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=440683)? He states in on this post he has: "Moved MAIL + Attachments folders from main memory (My Device) to external one (Internal Storage), so no more need to backup mails"
He also states: the system will create a directory called "Backup and Restore" (if you haven't created before), inside you can find other folders: Scripts, pimbackup, MAIL, CAB (inside this you can find another folder called CABi)
He has an interesting post at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3158046&postcount=1316
It looks like we have to stop tmail.exe and then we can copy cemail.vol.
Well buger. Something other than tmail.exe has it open. Maybe manila.exe, but when I close it, it starts up again.

I absolutely agree; or maybe just a simple "Search this thread" response. I would hope that if we do stop spoon-feeding them, they'll stop asking - but as long as we keep repeating the same answers, why would they stop being lazy?

This is something I've been spending A LOT of time working on because it is the only really annoying thing I've had to deal with in this version. We currently do not have a reliable fix for it. If you completely disable eT9, you will eventually not be able to use the on-screen keyboard for anything but numbers. So, right now, your only options are to disable xT9 and use your hardware keyboard more, leave it enabled and deal with the glitch, or downgrade to an earlier version (v3.x did not have this problem due to a different OS build).
[FONT=time]Todd, are you familiar with suiller and his ROMs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=440683)? He states in on this post he has: "Moved MAIL + Attachments folders from main memory (My Device) to external one (Internal Storage), so no more need to backup mails"
<snip>
Actually, I have found that having mail place it's data on the storage card can cause MAJOR issues with the storage card. If mail is syncing and you happen to soft reset while it is saving emails to the card, you risk damaging the FAT32 FS with corrupt file entries...this can result in the phone not booting up with the storage card in. Granted, this can be easily fixed by running a disk check from a windows PC, etc. However, the last time I enabled mail on the storage card, I had to repair the cards FS 4 times in one week...which is impossible to do if you are away from a PC.
I had the same issue. After the flash, there was no TF3D item to select. (I thought I was going crazy) I searched and searched but no answer. I decided to install MobileMatt's FuzeBerry theme to see what happens. Lo and behold, I now have TF3D in Today > Items. Anyone have any thoughts as to why it didn't show in the first place?
Did you hard reset after flashing the new ROM? This seems like one of those random "Oh shit, I forgot to HR after flashing." issues. Try a hard reset and see if that fixes the issue.
---
Ya know, HR is becoming one of those things I hate having to ask people...it's like constantly having to ask the end users at work if they bothered to reboot their PCs before pestering me with their problem. lol
...from the beautiful sunny beaches of LA, this is TheWebMachine reporting.

Yup, hard reset after. In fact I reflashed a second time "just in case", still no TF3D item.

I absolutely agree; or maybe just a simple "Search this thread" response. I would hope that if we do stop spoon-feeding them, they'll stop asking - but as long as we keep repeating the same answers, why would they stop being lazy?
As for me, I'd just like to save the accumulated hours I spend reading the exact same thing over and over...
I was thinking of keeping track of the time it takes me to respond as well as who i am responding to and send them a bill for 'tech support' !
LOL - NaFT could make a boat load by freely releasing his ROMs and charge a support fee!! "What does the H mean?" - Get the Answer for 10 Bucks!
For both thoughts, thank goodness for the beauty of community and our desire to help no matter how silly the question is or how often it has been asked... Last post on this topic as i dont wanna clog the thread anymore

The use of the Standard ROM versus the Fuze ROM shouldn't affect wifi in any way since they are using the exact same OS (only ATT specific settings have been removed). What encryption are you using on your wifi?

Yes! I noticed that and was kinda annoyed i kept typing and erasing to try and get rid of it
I think it's some sort of "auto completion for sentence". It's VERY annoying! I type a word, and it will suggest a word for you. You have to delete it before hitting the space or else it will type in the word it suggest. ARGH!
Where to turn this off.

Change DisableSMSWakeUpEvent (under HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL) to 1. A sound will still play, but the screen will remain off.

It looks like we have to stop tmail.exe and then we can copy cemail.vol.
Well buger. Something other than tmail.exe has it open. Maybe manila.exe, but when I close it, it starts up again.

I would not configure my ROMs to store mail (or SMS) on the Storage Card since it is quite possible that some people may not have an SD card.

I had been using CustomRUU to load various ROMs. To load NATF 4.0 I used Raphaelwrapper...now when I try to load a different ROM using either CustomRUU or Raphaelwrapper I am left with NATF initial splash screen...how do I remove that? Its as if it wrote data earlier then when the ROM loaders can now access..

oaa8,
Wow... thank you so much..!!
HardSPL gives you the ability to recover from a bad flash. Format a memory card as FAT32, place an NBH (ROM) file of choice but rename to "RAPHIMG.NBH" and when you do the "reset-while-holding-buttons" (canary/ROM boot screen) it will recognize that you have a FAT32 with that file on it and ask if you want to apply it.
If you want to change your splash back to AT&T, look at the post above.

Cool thanks. But I don't even see an option to be able to map the PTT button in AEB. I see six generic "button"s and the rest of the standard buttons. Am I missing something here?

I use WEP on virtually every router I've configured and have never had a problem connecting to them. Try this:
1) Go to Settings>Connections>Wi-Fi (NOT Wireless LAN)
2) Select the network from the list using the D-Pad. (You don't want to open the Connect wizard. If you do, simply click Cancel and the network will remain selected in the Wi-Fi window.)
3) Then click Menu>Remove Settings. This will delete the connection profile details for that network.
4) Then click on the network and carefully reconfigure the settings to match your router.
I recommend these steps as sometimes rerunning the Connect wizard won't replace all of the settings. Removing and reconfiguring from scratch is the safest bet. Let me know if this works for you.

Actually, I have been using AE Button Plus since I got my Fuze the first week it was released. If I recall, I got the instructions from this board somewhere. I had to do a registry edit (delete the value, not the key, of HKLM\Services\PTT\Dll (was "PTTService.dll", will now be "") and soft reset), and then went into AE Button Plus and used the Add button from the File menu. AEB then added it as Button #00ED and I was able to assign a short and long press. However, I do think xcsdm's application allowing you to assign a button from the Button applet is nice as well.

One thing I Just noticed that I think has to do with Windows integrating their on kinetic scroll. When I'm in the email or in the program folder with lots of programs, I noticed that when I hold my finger down until a vibrate is felt and then "flick scroll", the scrolling is much nicer than without the vibrate. It seems to actually scroll based on the speed my finger. I am guessing this is window's scrolling but don't really know. Inside the email program when I scroll after the vibrate is felt stopping the scroll doesn't seem to cause the glitch were the program switches inboxes. This could be a temporary fix for those of you that still want to flick through emails

I barely ever need to change the ring volume of the phone and if i need to put it on silent or vibrate that would be accessible from the SYSTEM side as well as the RING side. This is why i believe it would be most benificial for the volume key to control SYSTEM instead of RING.

It appears that OCN8 (my GPS program) and Live Mesh have same problem with v4.0 and v4.1 where the program works fine until sync is set up then upon starting either program the Fuze freezes and does a soft reset (See post #816 & #820). I am assuming you do not have OCN8 but Live Mesh is a free download and can be tested.

For what it is worth Live search (not mesh) made my fuze crash and soft reset itself after trying to get some directions just yesterday.
Still running 2.1 here though so it isn't related to the newer OS version.

wonder if this is what killed my fuze yesterday. Had Live mesh added to my phone all was working great on Saturday and on sunday I lost all messaging functions and Voice Command stopped working. Only fix I could find was a hard reset :( ... life is good again.. oh and this was on NATF 4.0

No firm ETA. I want to try and resolve as many bugs as possible first.
This is a glitch in later OS builds.
I'll see what I can do.
Where is it orange? I don't see it.
This is probably intended behavior due to Microsoft adding touch scrolling into Windows Mobile.
There is no CAB. It's just a small file you run, and then soft reset.
It is orange on the start menu and homescreen htc task manager. I also would like to note that I installed the "restore curtins" cab, Im not sure if its the rom or the cab doing it :S

I currently have my Fuze with the stock OS. I'm very interested in NATF's ROM. I use my phone for business and so Exchange Email & Texting are crucial for me. From reading this thread it seems that there MAY be an issue with these features. Can someone clarify if these are glaring issues or could I live with the bugs for now?

Hey NATF,
I have and use OCN8. When you get close, let me know. I would be happy to test v4.2 to see if it resolves the OCN8 issue. All I have to do is flash and test OCN8. It will most likely work. I then will have to create a partnership and test again to confirm it still works.
If you read some of the earlier posts, one user reformatted his MicroSD card, put OCN8 back on the card and reinstalled the ROM. OCN8 worked fine then. It was only after he created a partnership with Vista's Mobile Device Center that OCN8 started crashing and rebooting his Fuze.

Another note for the Chef.
I don't know if this is any useful information. I am using your Lite version ROM. Using Garmin XT Mobile v8 with ONLY A-GPS enable(from the default Windows Mobile settings)... NO QuickGPS or another form of 'software' A-GPS.
and it WORKS BEAUTIFULLY. I ALWAYS get a lock within 7-10sec even the HTC GPS Tool 1.2.2.17 (Cold (30-35sec) or Hot Start). I can see Garmin Mobile and HTC GPS Tool access Data (by the change of the icon when the icon display no current data connection to data connection) every time I run it.
SO... whatever you do.... keep those software assisted GPS out of your Lite rom :)

The only issue I've had with Live Mesh (I am very much attached to it. :)) is the occasional problem of it "exiting" immediately as it is first loading...in which case I just SReset and it usually loads right up. I'm running the most recent build as of 1/12/08. And, yes, I use Vista Mobile Device Center to sync my device and still have no problems with it. I'll play around with the partnership and such and see if I can recreate your problem.
If I win, I will share with you.
Also, do you have any idea on how to run a script BEFORE manila.exe runs?
I believe that the only other usable start-up location besides \windows\startup is HKLM\init. You can find additional information about that here:

Yes, you need the invite. I accomplished this by trolling the MSDN blogs and finding a dev that posted the invite/activation link, which still worked despite the public tech preview being closed for the time being...but since Da_G has the power to invite you directly, just give him your email addy and he'll hook you up.

That was back when the Public Tech Preview was still open...simply downloading from that link will not automatically enable it on your Live Mesh account anymore. You need the invite link or be directly invited by Da_G or someone of his prowess. I'm currently attempting to relocate that MSDN blog to share with the class. Links found...see the end of this post.

<snip>
You can disable all 3G connectivity using DiamondTweak. And I think that the selective caller ID blocking requires some degree of support from the carrier...I've never gotten it working with AT&T or T-Mobile with the Fuze or the TYTN II. In my case, it would block ID for every call, regardless of the existence of a contact.
----------
On a lighter note... I'M OFFICIALLY A SENIOR MEMBER NOW! WOOT! Yeah, I know it is an automatic "promotion"...but it's nice to receive the official acknowledgment of my tireless efforts. :p
I found the direct invite links for enabling Live Mesh Mobile on your account. Click the appropriate link below, sign in with your LiveID, and you’ll be redirected to the device ring where you’ll see a link to “Use Live Mesh for mobile devices.”:

That's exactly what I did and now those registries aren't available on this ROM (4.1). So I was wondering how and if anybody got it working.
I too would really like to be able to use AE button plus to handle the PTT button. The PTT button does show up in AEB's list of buttons, and I have mapped actions to the triple press. The only thing that happens is that the single press action gets triggered 3 times. Anyone have any suggestions?

I just installed 4.1 ROM within 10 minutes of getting the phone. Based on my years and years of experience with mobile devices and the constant mentioning in reviews of all the AT&T JUNK on this phone, this was a no brainer. Thanks NATF!
One thing I'm concerned about is having to reinstall all the apps and configure them after a future ROM upgrade. Has anyone verified if the new SPB Backup doesn't cause problems after a restore, after a ROM upgrade? Is this the only program that will do it? I know the phone comes with Sprite backup. Maybe 4.1 will be good enough for the life of the phone? But then I'm a sucker for constant improvements.

There seems to be some confusion/lack of clarity regarding remapping the PTT button on the NATF ROM (I have 4.1).
Zapit doesn't seem to work.
Ideally, I'd like one short press to open the start menu, two short presses to close the app, and one long press to launch voice command.

Thanks for the tip. I checked and actually it works this way even if you have the the Touch Response disabled (I don't use it). Press an email until the email you are touched is highlighted, then flick, and when you touch the screen to stop scrolling, it doesn't switch inboxes. Not ideal, but a decent workaround.
I have also noticed if you stop the scroll by touching the scroll bar it does not switch mailboxes, without needing for the message to be highlighted before flicking to scroll.

good question. I hate to install and reconfig all the programs. it takes forever. I like to run a backup..then cook..the restore. That would be awsome
It is highly not recommened to use any backup programs that backup registry and programs. PHM backup is your best bet as far as personal data is concern. The reasoning behind this is, backing up program files and registry, depending on the program that is included with the rom you're flashing with, may cause problems, file conflict, version issue, registry issue, etc, which will usually lead to an unstable flash.
Learn to use UC (user customization). If you want to save preferences on each program, your best bet is install to SD card, usually, your prefences will be saved there and when you reinstall the program, it will retain.
Basically, there is no easy way that I know of.

I use SPB backup to restore my stuff when I upgrade to a new ROM and I've had no problems with it. Matter of fact SPB backup has a feature called "ROM Upgrade Mode" where it recognizes that the phone has switched to another ROM and restores the backup accordingly. It's been really great.

I have 2.1 but dont see "rom upgrade mode".

There's nothing on there that says "rom upgrade mode", its just a built in feature. Just run your backup. Setup up your UC or Sashimi to run the spb program and the backup. A screen should pop-up about the rom upgrade and press continue and it should be set up.

You don't to back up the SD card as it does not get overwritten when a new ROM is installed.

Not only that, but if you follow ROM installation instructions posted all over XDA, you know that you're supposed to take out the SD card before you flash a new ROM.

wow... just moved from a tilt (with naft's rom) to the fuze, now with naft's rom less than 15 minutes afyer opening it! so far i love it, but do have a few small issues.... the music tab sometimes slows to a crawl (2-3gb of music a 16gb sd card) and i've had the phone reboot using windows media player and wmv files... mpegs no issue so far, but randomly loading 1 wmv after a smaller one finishes playing will reboot it.
also, the htc album sometimes loads to a blank screen.... all i see is the top start bar, so i have to hit start, today, then close album. sometimes i have to do it 2-3 times before everything works fine.
other than that, eagerly awaiting the net rom!

How do you change the colors of highlighted items on the today screen?
It only seems to do it on the today screen and when I have touchflo 3d enabled, but when I highlight item in the start menu or todayscreen task manager it is orange instead of the black/grey gradient you get when touchflow is disabled.
Anyone know how I can change the color?

First things first...I think NATF's ROMs are great! They are so much better then the bloated stock AT&T ROMs in so many ways.
I'm running 4.1 and I've noticed some strange behavior. First, I use HiCalc and have noticed that when I atttempt to update the Currency Conversion tab, I get an "Unable to Connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present" error message. This, in spite of the fact that I am normally able to connect through data networks or WiFi and do anything else network-ish I would expect to be able to do. So, I'll do a soft reset, and after booting up, I'll be faced with a Logon to Server screen where the User Name, Password, and Domain fields are blank. Sometimes this screen will be replaced by a black screen with the HTC logo, sometimes not. Either way, the TouchFlo will not load. All I have is a black screen. The only way to resolve this is to do a hard rest and restore with Sprite. It will then work fine until I do another soft reset or the phone resets itself and I'm back where I started. Very odd. Any ideas? Any other information I might provide to facilitate resolution? Please let me know.

does anyone know how to restore the original black theme/start bars that came with this rom? i tried everything short of reflashing the same rom again.
**MY ORIGINAL POST**
This might be a stupid question to ask but...does anyone know how to reset the theme back to the default NATF originally set? I accidently changed the theme to windows default and when I went to change it to what I thought was NATF default "htc_black" I get a light gray start bar and the gray bottom bar instead of the dark black bars like seen in the screen shots for this rom.

No firm ETA. I want to try and resolve as many bugs as possible first.
This is probably intended behavior due to Microsoft adding touch scrolling into Windows Mobile.
.
Hmm, Msft making something a little more cumbersome - sounds like a plausible theory. FYI, I didn't see this behavior with inbox scrolling in the other ROM I've tried (RRE 4.4 based on the 21014 build), so it may not be intentional on MSft's part.

Download the CAB file just a few posts above yours. It will change the Start Menu highlighting to gray (instead of orange), and change the bars to deep black.

I used to use sprite backup to reinstall everything because they have a "new ROM restore" option, and I found it worked 95% ok, but there would be some buggy stuff going on, so I was directed to a program called CABviaActiveSync. You install it on your PC, then right click on a CAB file and it will install it through activesync. The beauty of this is that when you flash a new ROM and set up activesync, you just need to go to activesync>tools>add/remove programs, then just check all the ones you want back on your phone.
Sorry no link, but search XDA, its on here somewhere

Hi, I have one annoyance and I don't know if it's a problem with the rom or what. Whenever I am typing with the on screen keyboard it doesn't work properly in ABC mode. For example I type "I" and it recommends "don't" but I type "can't" and press space it inserts "can'tdont". When I enable T9 it works correctly but the thing is I don't want T9.
With the keyboard in ABC mode it acts like T9 and keeps suggesting works and the grey bar pops up with the word I typed and the + sign on the right as if to add it to my T9 library? It's really annoying. In T9 settings everything is UNchecked.
I just want to type with the keyboard without T9 and not have any of the stuff pop up. Can anyone please tell me what is wrong?

Hi NATF, your rom rox.
just some little issues.
1. volume chooser's upper title bar plays nasty in landscape.
2. also settins page of opera is not loyal to the game in landscape and its tiltle and its size are not correct.
3. the delay between repeat of tone in alarm clock is too much.

NATF-
Hey, I just picked up my Fuze a couple of days ago, (new but second hand) and right after setting up, had problems with the stock Audio Manager. It refused to do anything. I had already known that I would upgrade the ROM to probably an HTC stock ROM, but haven't seen one released as of yet. I decided to install your latest rom for fuze standard, and have now been experiencing more problems.
During playback on WMP, songs pause randomly and freezes and often soft resets.
Audio Manager actually works, but only for a few seconds and then freezes.
Unable to screen lock the phone even though settings say I have enabled locking ability.
I love this ROM outside of these problems, and unfortunately these are issues that I rely on the most:(
I use my phone for everything from the FM radio at work, WMP/Audio Manager in my car. Is there a fix for any of these issues?
Thanks-

enabled the hsdpa/hsupa and the speed jumpto 730kb at 1mb.
does anyone know if this a feature that att can charge you for? not 100% sure
No. I have been using H speeds from ATT for the last few months and they dont seem to know/care. So, no new charges.
HSxPA is merely 3.5G...the successor to 3G. There is no extra charge to use it...it's merely the latest ATT upgrade being rolled out nationwide. Since it is relatively new to the US, most phones aren't even equipped to use it yet. You haven't heard anything about it from ATT because their intent is to promote it once the nationwide rollout is complete...their way of beating out the competition. Enjoy your status as an "early adopter." :)
I have 2.1 but dont see "rom upgrade mode".
The backup is the same regardless of your intent for it. All that matters is how you are restoring the backup...either on the same ROM, an "upgraded" ROM, or an "upgraded" device (which is also supported)...hence why there is no such option during backup, only during restore.
I installed this CAB on my phone, and sure enough, it opens and immediately closes.
I have this same problem on v4.1. I'm guessing that it isn't necessarily the ROMs fault as much as it is a bug in LMesh. I have noticed that it doesn't like to be the first .netCF app ran and likes the data connection already connected. If I run it immediately after soft reset, it won't start up. I generally put the phone through some regular use before firing it up after a SReset.

Yah, i think he was just worried that ATT would be all pissy and try to charge for its use considering that the stock ROM has that feature locked (upgraded rom release to turn it on once that service is official?).
I just tossed in that ATT might not care that we are connected this way for now, since their greedy execs will prob wanna have a data plan that costs more for H service... or they cant see/control it.

Im using v4.0 rom and i cant seem to get flash working right in opera. (opera build 2745) it just shows different color lines in youtube for the video. no sound either. i did install flash lite 3.1 to see if that would fix the problem. no luck. anyone got any ideas?:o :o

NATF - love the ROM. I just did notice that my battery meter icon has disappeared - don't know why. Any ideas? Not plugged in via USB...instead I have another clock.
I think you have to disable the option that shows the clock in the top bar at all times in all programs.

I notice that sometimes when I use 4.1, tf3d dosen't respond and only my start menu comes down sometimes. It stays like that and after like 4 or 5 flashes it works then it's back to the freezing again. Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks, DerekHaltom. Interesting, I have Spb PocketPlus installed. I unchecked the clock in all title bars checkbox, battery titlebar was checked as well - had to choose one of the other options and then recheck 'icon' choice and it came back. Then went back to 'Home' and battery meter was back...but so was title bar clock! Weird.

Check back a few pages, I posted a status update.
So far: WMP no longer crashes, Live Mesh works OK if you allow it to crash 3 times first ;).
Using 4.0 - having issues with Skybook (facebook app used to be call snap2face). it loads but errors out to check my connection (full signal hsdpa) so no idea. This was working great on 3.2

NATF, take a look at this tweak at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467616 that lets you take 7MP panaromic pictures. Might be nice to include by default.

Which headset do you have?
I have tested the following models, and they all work:
LG Stereo Bluetooth
Jabra BT250v
Metal Gear Solid 4 branded headset (don't remember who makes it)

I use YouMail also, and have no issues with missing voicemails. I get a text message, and the MWI turns on.
Hmm... Does the radio affect the MWI? I'm using the 1.10.25.25 radio. I see your signature says the diamond radio...
That would suck if it's the radio... I get amazing battery life.

If this is with Windows Media Player, then the issue may be caused by the version of wavedev.dll included in the ROM. 4.2 includes an older DLL, which resolved the issue with WMP rebooting the phone, so it may also fix your issue.

really? huh. yes it is with media player. let me see if coreplayer works better. do i have to reflash to add the older file?

coreplayer works along with tf3d player. I loaded up media player and it freeses and changes songs and sh$t. lol
I can deal with using tf3d and core. thanks for the advise. I did notice when i try to make a call and use the headset..it doesnt work. it uses the phone instead of the headset.
im soo glad I dont have to reflash. thank you

I am brand new to the ATT Fuze and Smartphones.
What ROM is better for Fuze 4.1 Standard or Lite?
How do you install it?
What is the Kitchen?
Also, tell me more about the Extras that are listed here.
I notice one section mentioning "removed" or something
like that. Are these that we should remove from Fuze
or some that were removed from the standard shipped fuze?
Thanks in advance for your help.
