I hope to have v4.2 ready by tomorrow night or Sunday afternoon (no football to watch :().
My new job frowns on personal laptops in a corporate environment, so I have not been able to test new versions while at work. This slows the development process down by 12-15 hours per week.

NATF,
I'm eagerly awaiting 4.2. I had to downgrade to 3.2 because of problems with OCN crashing. Anyway, I've just got my Fuze set up as my mobile calendar (synced with Outlook 2007). Because of some Daylight Savings Time problem, my all day events were displaying on the Fuze one day earlier, and appointments on the Fuze were displaying 1 hour early.
After looking at numerous web sites I finally solved my problem. The two most helpful were:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/daylight-savings-update.mspx
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2872627#post2872627 (post 1)
I followed steps 1 - 4 "For Windows Mobile users who connect to a PC" in the microsoft article.
To get the instructions in the XDA post on changing Settings -> System -> Clocks and Alarms ->Time to a different time zone, resetting, changing back to my time zone to work: I had to first uncheck "automatic change time zone and clock" in Settings -> Phone -> Time Zones tab.
Problem is now fixed! Perhaps I didn't need to do steps 1 - 4 in the Microsoft article, not sure.
My question is: do you know if the Daylight Saving Time Update Tool for Windows Mobile is needed on our devices. And if it is, can you cook it in your ROMs to save this step?
Thanks for all you do! Hope this info helps somebody else who is pulling their hair out!

the DST fix should be included in any WM6 and higher device. It was included in the WM5 updates that many carriers released.
You should be fine.

I am looking for a way to switch from the TF3D interface to WM original home screen without having to go into settings... I looked on XDA and a few sites and couldnt find anything. A .CAB would be best so I can assign it to a button shortcut for quick switching.
NATF. What are we expecting in v4.2? Is it just bug fixes? Again I will say some aps that I like that could be a nice addition to your ROM if there are more out there that like these.
in call recording - has an issue with slide to answer, which I also like
HTC data backup
YOTA contacts - and have it as the default, but I think that might be too much to ask from all
Thanks

anyone have any ideas why the head set only does music and not phone calls?:(

I'm not sure if this is a ROM issue or not, but I am using NATF v4 Fuze rom and while the TF3d/Windows Media player can see my UNPROTECTED iTunes plus files (256k aac, .m4a) it doesn't play them. When I select the album, it just flips through each song without playing them (skips each file, it seems).
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, it seemed like there was several possibly appropriate locations to post.
Has anyone else run into this and is there a solution besides converting the files? I've found that 128k AAC files seem to play fine, but the 256k ones won't.

Make sure your headset suport both bluetooth profile, handfree and headset. Make sure in the bluetooth setting, for that device, both profiles are enable/check.

This wont answer your question, but try a better player, like pocketplayer. If it work, at least you know it's not your music files. Media player suck at anything that's not wmv, wma, or mp3.

I'm looking for a good music player as well. Is PocketPlayer the best choice? What about coreplayer?
Thanks.
Edit: I just checked and I guess coreplayer isn't free, I am only looking for a free music player. How is S2P? Better or worse than PocketPlayer?
Thanks again.

I have a Fuze and an Tilt. Does anyone know if there is a good cooked ROM out for the Tilt (Kaiser) similar to NATF's? I'm having trouble finding a promising looking thread. Want something stable. A version of this ROM for the Tilt is really what I want.

Umm... you could use NATF's Tilt Roms(s)

Is it this ROM exactly... no, it can't be. The best you can get is Manila 2D.
and QVGA vs. VGA. And storage space, and...

I think most people are referring to TCPMP when they talk about Core player (it's the beta version). There are many versions out there available for free. Post #4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3124315&postcount=4) has a link to it (called TCPMP 0.72RC1 Recomp3). I've been using one version or another for years, and it's pretty reliable. Not sexy at all, but it works and is fairly intuitive.

Stupid question here.
Does anyone have a problem with the power button not powering down the unit or even putting it to sleep? It does this sometimes - the only way I can wake it up is if I slide the keyboard.
The reason I say it's stupid is I'm trying to determine whether it's just a bug in the ROM or if it's because I dropped my phone in the toilet. Yeah, it happens. It works fine for the most part, but behaves a little eratically sometimes.
I'm totally aware that it could be from the water. Of course, I'm trying to avoid making the insurance claim so if it's a bug, I'll try another version of the ROM. If not, well, then it's time to eat more money for another phone.
It'll be my third Fuze. Broke the first one when it popped out of my coat pocket and got caught in a closing car door (didnt have insurance on that one). Then this one ... /sigh
Thanks,
Super

I had the same thing happen to me on my Fuze running NATF 4.1. Earlier I wanted to lock my phone by pushing the power button, but it would not turn off the screen for 10ish seconds. However once the screen turns off, pressing the power button brings it back to life instantly. I'm not sure whats up.
BTW I notice the phone does weird things after using RSS Hub and Google Maps

I had a pretty light load on as I had reflashed it last night, thinking something may have been corrupted. I had flashed v4.1 close to the submersion so I didn't know which was causing the issue.
Did a hard reset earlier tonight and I didn't even touch the power button and it warned that it was going to power off (had to confirm). I said no, and that was it. So I'm running a base load now. Battery life's pretty bad without being able to turn it off, so I need to do something.

As you found out, neither are free, unless u download tcmp player, which isn't the easiest to use as far as music collection is concern. Depending how much music you listen to, pocketplayer maybe worth the investment.

Gents, have had the Fuze for a while was sitting on 2.0 and then moved to 4.1 very nice...nice indeed...
Got all picky about the transparency while scrolling through TF3d and installed restore_curtains cab...and I hate it...
Anyway I can make it all black again...I am nothing if not esthetically anal...
any help greatly appreciated, and I believe I have all 129 pages of this thread...

Thanks for the info. :)
The submersion actually happened a couple weeks ago. I pulled the battery immediately and dried it out, using blown air and then let it sit buried in uncooked rice to try to suck the water out. It seems to have done the job, for the most part. The power button's the only residual issue I'm having ... I can make/receive calls, texts, data, etc just fine. It works to turn on the unit, but once inside the OS, it won't shut it down or put it to sleep. Have to pull the battery if I want to turn it off. It just started doing this in the last couple days. Thought I was out of the woods, but guess not.
Super
you could use something like WkTask which has options to turn off screen and soft reset, but I do not know what you could use to actually power off the phone.
But who powers off their phone ever anyway?

1. Tried to Download and install world class mobile, and XM Radio Cab. The world class i dloaded to my memory card, and install from Opera dload page was unsucessful. And XM radio i dloaded to the phone main memory. And that too was unsucessful. Both i tried, installing them on the phone and not the Memory Card.
2. Pictures are saved to another folder instead of DCIM/100Media. They are now saved in My Documents/Mypictures
3. ive been getting some freezing. When i go to Landscape mode or visa versa, when browsing the internet. And after i have done a lot of task. Like open up several programs and close them. It seems to slow down. And likes to freeze with Opera on occasion. This could be FuzeBerry problems.... But i will reformat my sdhc card like suggested, see if that fixes it.
4.I think mentioned before. But the volume button is slow when you touch it. Like its thinking about something before going up or down. And now goes into Ring first instead of System first.
5.Also i noticed the battery drains faster than the Att rom, and when it gets sluggish its normally around 30 percent when i start getting major freezes. About once a day. Sometimes on games too. But it could be the programs. Sorry if i babble. Sorry if im noobish. But i hope to cook some day. or year. Im inspired big time! Also this could be due to me living in a bad reception area, and the phone constantly looking for connection, or switching from 3G to Edge network.
All in all i love this rom with Fuze Berry. I bet im only touching half of what this bad boy can do. I cant wait but i love my phone. My girlfriend hates it. :D . Thanks again NATF and gang. Kick ass ROM.

I use YouMail also, and have no issues with missing voicemails. I get a text message, and the MWI turns on.
Does your MWI turn on right away after the voicemail is left? Because I tried out YouMail and I would get a text message that would come very delayed, and the MWI would not turn on at all.
Is there anything special you did to get the MWI to work with youmail?
Thanks.

(1) Just thought I'd let you know I unlocked phone and tried the same Diamond Radio 1.08.25.08 as you are using and will keep this thread updated as to what I think in comparison to Fuze Radio1.02.25.32.
(2) Since I was having trouble with NATF v4.0 & v4.1 and could not get OCN8 to work correctly I went back to NATF v3.2 and then decided to try QSQA 1.14a.
(3) I do like the layout of NATF ROM better and would like to go back to it. I must report however that OCN8 does work well with 1.14a and does not lock up unit. 1.14a is using ROM version: 1.95.502.5 WWE

Been running 3.2 with no issue. Upgraded to 4.1 and I lose data network. Also not able to toggle the Data connection option in Comm Manager...is greyed out on "OFF".
Any ideas or suggestions? Flashing back to 3.2 and data network works again. Running radio 1.02.25.32, am in ATL (thought I saw a post about how your area may make a difference???).
Thanks!

I am working fine with 4.1. The data network turns on when it is needed. You can turn it off in the Comm Manager. Though the Comm Manager won't turn it on, it turns on when needed.

Sorry i didn't get back on v 4.1
I like the performance and setup in the v4 series over the 3.2.
It still had the BT headset reconnect issue. But that''s also happening in Elite rom to. So that's something that will sort itself out eventualy when more stable new builds get out.
I did notice that ticking of the services for the BT Headset and then re enabling them also made the headset reconnect on Elite rom so i'll check that behaviour on v 4.1 to this coming week.

v4.2 is about 50% complete. But prior to finishing the last half, I want to throw something out there for everyone...
Would you like to see 4.2 as-is (WMP no longer crashing, but Live Mesh and some other apps still broken)? Or should I push the release out another day and step back to an older OS with higher compatibility?
I do this whole "cooking thing" to improve device functionality overall, so I'm leaning towards the 2nd option, but I'll let fellow XDA members decide.

For me stability is the most important with cool functionality coming after that. With my Fuze running 4.1 is reboots every once in a while when trying to fire up random programs. I'd like to get it stable again first. It does not do it very often so I'm pretty happy with it but it could use some stability improvements.

If it's as simple as you state, I vote the later. Take your time and build a ROM that YOU can relax with.
While I'm here, I carry two cell phones, so if my Fuze didn't work so well, I'd still have my backup. I am willing to test any ROM you want me to. Your ROMs are getting better with each release and I'm doing more with my Fuze, each day.

I'll be in the possible minority and ask you to wait a day for increased stability. But, this is coming from someone who is still on NATF 2.2 strictly for that reason. My phone simply must work!
Your best ROM's have been when you haven't had to rush them out due to any pressure. I say, release it when it's ready.
And thanks for all your work.

I'm still running 3.2 due to the fact that I use my phone a lot for work during the week and each weekend that I planned to upgrade got away from me for the past 2 weeks I've just been putting off 4.1 because I've been watching that v4.2 will be out soon and don't want to have to rebuild twice so quickly back to back if I didn't need to. I'm not using any of the apps that I've seen people having issues with, so my vote would be to put out 4.2. I can rebuild tonight and then work through any issues this week since it's still early.
Just my opinion, and if you end up waiting another day, I'll be 100% fine with that.

Take the time you need to make a stable release. In my opinion, the first priority should be the device working without problems, with cool extras coming in second.
By the way, after using 4.0 since it's release, 2 days ago the messaging program crashed. When I try to load the e-mail client or sms client via touchflo, touchflo crashes and resets. When I try to launch either client through the program list, the client wouldn't load. Also at the same time, I was getting an error message about voice command not working. So I hard reset my phone.
Other than that, awesome ROM! Thanks NATF.

Compatibility!
Will be upgrading from 8525 to Fuze this Tuesday, when it is shipped from ATT. This is very exciting, and look forward to killing the standard ROM and loading yours, NATF. I have been following your Fuze efforts since you started, and anxiously await my Fuze arrival. I can certainly wait for a perfected 4.2, when YOU feel comfortable.
What do I want to be perfect on my Fuze: Phone, Messaging, Texting, Voice Command, GPS.
My advice is try not to put too many features and programs in your ROMs too fast. Gets too complicated to debug and provide support in my opinion.
When I get a chance to load your ROM, I will try to provide any helpful feedback that I can.

I've been waiting to use WMP again so it does not matter (album still freezes once in a while needing a reset too. like showing off my spakin new son!) . if you say you have to step back an OS version to complete this to have it stable then what other issues might we see? i think any way you look at it, it's beta so there will be some problem.
is it much work to release as is for 4.2 and then again for the stable build you are working on as 4.3? i would rather have a median to have what's currently broken fixed and then you take as much time as needed for 4.3 as, like you said b4, you can't do too much during the week at work and not have to be pressured to release a day (or so) later.

I pick Stability with funcionality. I want all my programs to work, as well as a stable ROM where it doesn't crash. Use stuff like XM, and other things that came with the att rom, but not the things we dont like, like pac man, and the songs that came on the rom etc, junk taking up room.
But Programs like world cards are really cool, and to me extremly important.

I've been searching through the posts for 4.x and 1.x-3.x but I haven't found anything on this issue. If the question has been asked and answered, I apologize for reposting. I have also looked through a number of forums for an answer but it doesn't seem there is one (which may be an answer in itself).
It seems to be the case with all WinMo phones 6.0 and later... They have some major issues with BlueTooth when paired with certain model year Infiniti and Nissan systems. Choppy audio in, no audio out without disconnecting BT and then reconnecting it on each call. I have been reading that it was not an issue with OS' prior to WinMo 6, that it worked fine with the Tilt until a person upgraded to 6.x. Does anyone know if it is possible to use the old BT stacks or something with the Fuze? Any chance there is way to fix it?
For the last month or two (I don't really remember when I got my Fuze), I have pretty much not bothered with BT'ing my phone with my car. Kinda sucks to have that option but not be able to use it... lol

I'm definitely getting random reboots, but I'm curious as to how I'm supposed to format my microSD card. I'm on Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. Here's a little info:
1) Can't find it under Manage -> Storage -> Disk Management
2) Connected through Windows Mobile Device Center -- no option for formatting the microSD, no option to access through the icon it creates in My Computer (ie the option is not available to format)
3) No other machine accessible to try and format from there.
4) External card reader is not available.
Is there a program I can install on my Fuze to try and do it from the phone itself? Thanks.
Edit: Got it. In Windows Mobile Device Center I changed the connection settings, so it stopped associating itself with my phone. Then when I connected a USB to it, the phone prompted me with ActiveSync, Data Connection and something else. Selected Data Connection and the computer was able to recognize the drive which I promptly formatted.

Gary, I use SPB Backup 2.x and when doing full backups, it does snag the cemail.vol. After a flash, i just do a selective restore. You can also use the unpack tool on the PC side to snag only the files you want and throw them on the storage card, and into the SDConfig. not tested, but sounds like it should work.

How can I use my camera flash, as just a FLASH? The only option I have is flash light. I just want it to flash for a darn picture. Am I missing something?
Tap the gear icon in Camera mode, and turn on Flash Light.

Ok, so flash light is my only option?
No flash with shutter at the same time? like a normal camera

it does. it just turns on the light fully so you can see in a dim setting the image you are trying to take. when you take the pictures it does flash. try it taking a picture in the dark.

Since you have mentioned you use YouMail, plus this is your ROM, I'll ask you,
each time I flash a new one of your roms, or hard reset, do I have to go
through the whole thing of setting up YouMail on my phone, in Setting/Phone/Services
and typing in the YouMail Voicemail number? Plus each time do I have to dial
the **004*plus the youmail number? Is there away to add this in to my UC
in the XML or something? If so how? Do you use UC and have it in yours? Or
what do you do each time you reflash or hard reset?
Thanks.

Once you set your new voicemail number under Settings, it will follow you from ROM to ROM. What is the **004* code you're dialing? I just dial voicemail as normal to get connected to YouMail...

For intial YouMail setup on your phone it tells you to dial **004* then the youmail number, to forward your voicemail to YouMail instead.

Actually, it's another hybrid... 19971 (AT&T stock) and 20764. Technically the builds are older, but I'm incorporating a bunch of updated drivers from the 21xxx builds, so we should benefit from performance and stability.

I get this too at times, especially when when I press the 'Reply' softbutton then slide out the keyboard. If I slide it out too soon, the landscape tf3d screen comes up instead. No problem if I wait until it's ready for my email reply and then slide the keyboard out.

I had that problem - it isn't a problem with NATF's ROM, it's a problem with something you installed.
I know, because after I uninstalled it, it went away.
Now...to remember what it was!
My first guess is that it's the S2U2 program. (Slide To Unlock 2)

Mine does that regardless of how long I wait to slide out the keyboard. A soft reset will usually fix it for a short while. I'm really thinking that it is a software conflict. I suspect that it is either the custom taskbar icons or the Fuzeberry theme, and I hate to have to uninstall either one of those.

v4.2 is about 50% complete.

Guess I should have clarified ... was referring mainly to call volume, etc.
aruppenthal posted some files in his ROM thread that to boost the overall volume - both ringer/system as well as in call. I have tried both and AudioPara3.zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=143294&d=1231105865) makes the phone almost unusable because it's so loud. So I stick with the Audio_Lighter_Boost.cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=143293&d=1231105853). It gives a solid volume boost all around and it has worked on every ROM I have flashed.
You can grab the files here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467592#6).
Hope that helps...

Ok, it is late here (1:15am) and I just downloaded both the 4.2 v lite and standard. Each file took 2 minutes to download. This will be my first ROM flash. I can't find what the difference is between lite and standard. Is this ROM an excellent choice for a newbie to flash? I am going to bed now and plan on flashing one of these tomorrow...any advice, opinions, instructions or warnings would be appreciated. Thanks XDA community. Thank you NATF!:)

Ok...finally got them both now. I'm going to load the standard on my regular Fuze tonight and test out tomorrow. Should be a pretty busy day. I'll report findings tomrrow night after I've loaded all my stuff.
On a side note, I've been playing with the Fuze Lite version for a little bit waiting for the Standard to d/l. It seems pretty damn snappy without anything loaded on it. If that is any indication of how these ROM's are...I think I'm going to be VERY VERY happy. Thanks Todd, I'll report findings tomorrow.

Im having issues with bluetooth on Fuze Standard 4.2. It says there is no bluetooth hardware on device. Im redownloading and I am gonna reflash both to 4.1 and 4.2 again. May have been bad flash. Will report what happens.
Edit: Ok just reflashed 4.1 while redownloading 4.2. Bluetooth is working perfect. Hopefully it will stay good when i reflash 4.2
Edit 2: Just reflashed the redownloaded Fuze 4.2 Standard. Still telling me that there is no bluetooth hardware on device. Looks like Im gonna stay with 4.1 for now. Thanks NATF for all your hard work man.

Be careful, make sure you have read all there is to read about flashing a ROM, make sure you have the right hardspll... There is a post for first timers, and some helpful info in the wiki as well.
NATF' ROMs have always been excellent for me, and I have his ROM for my HTC TyTN II as well, but these ROMs will always be BETA. There may be issues, from time to time. As for me, I hardly ever find something wrong, and its usually an application to blame when I do...
NATF. Did you happen to put in ICR? I have gone to the discussion and followed there instructions but I cant ever get it to work. It shows up, I can open the app, but when I have a call, I never get the option to record.
Ps. I'm fkn stoked about 6.5 next month, can't weight till the final gets out so that we can see it full and stable in XDA ROMs, there may be no need for TF3D, hmmmm?

There is some chatter going on in the Radio thread about matching rilphone.dll versions to the radio rom versions. Are you going to be releasing a 4.2 kitchen? I would like to cook a different rilphone.dll into a rom and see if I can notice any difference.
Also, in your 4.1 kitchen, I noticed that about 5 items in your ROM weren't in the kitchen. Total commander, soft reset, gps test, pocketrar, and I think cleantemp. No big problem, I made my own packages. I was just curious if there was a specific reason they were not part of the kitchen you uploaded.
Thanks

I moved backwards because too many applications were either not running, or behaving strangely with the 21xxx builds floating around now.
Until an official (VGA) source comes out for WM6.5, I do not plan to use the newer builds. Stability trumps new and exciting. :)
