I still have 4.1

my ISSUE is

Camera / Photo viewing

when i take a picture, and or open the htc photo viewing app after the camera. everything goes black

the only way to view the pics is to have the keyboard out. if i put it back in, the screen is black.

this is kind of annoying for viewing pictures.

is this fixed in 4.2?

This was an issue with the HTC Album program. I just tested mine, and it is fixed in 4.2

The alarms dont work, regardless of the cellphone status (Vibrate,Silent,Sound...) Will play with this while at work and report back if its on my end :)
-Bluetooth Also, as stated above, it says no Bluetooth Hardware installed-

Confirmed. Also the XT9 Issue made it into this build :( Using disable XT9 remedies it but it cause keyboard to get stuck at the numbers only mode.
These issues are working fine in 4.2

I haven't used your roms in a while

but this one is SUPER FAST compared to the last one i used (3. something)

One thing though, The HTC_Black theme has gray bars at the bottom and top.

Is there anyway to get the one that comes with the TOuch PRO that's all black?

Thanx a bunch.

The phone is setup to obtain date/time from the network, so it will not ask you.

The light gray at the very top and bottom of the bars is normal. That is the WM6 "glossy" effect.

In settings, system, device information, after flashing v4.2 i noticed in version tab , line ExtPkg Version, says something starting with "Fail_Pkg_OpenPackageBy..." is that normal?

Second, in the identity tab , model no. was T7272 before, now it's HTC P4600. Is that normal aswell? Does it change back to t7272 if i were to flash another rom? (i used romeos before and i had t7272 as with stock rom)

The black bar will still pop-up on occasion, but it no longer inserts any words when you hit space. It's now been downgraded to a graphical glitch. ;)

Yes it does, but unlike build 4.1 it will not input the word after pressing space. I can live with that till another fix comes out, besides 4.2 its a big step from 4.1.

I suspect the fix for this will is just a matter of rolling back to an older version of XT9. The current version was stripped of all non-English support by Da_G, and it wouldn't surprise me if one of those changes also brought upon this glitch.

I know this isn't the proper thread for UC questions, but I've tried several times to get help in the UC thread and it seems to be VERY inactive (each question has been ignored)...so I thought I'd give it a shot here :)

Does anyone know if it's possible to HIDE files via UC? I know you can remove attributes, but there doesn't seem to be the analog set attribute capability...

Any wisdom would be much appreciated :D

I was perfectly happy with your server, but apparently initial load led to 4kb/sec downloads for a bunch of people...

Once I get some more time, I'm going to start mirroring my ROMs between your server, PTZero's, and Rapidshare.

Wow I was unaware of the 4Kb/sec issue. I will have to look into that thanks for pointing that out for me. I would imagine the issue is for people outside the US. The server is located in FL USA. I will look in to this issue. No hard feelings though. :)

Since the Touch Pro does not actually have an extended ROM, the failure does not affect the phone in any way. I am still trying to figure out what is causing it.

The model number doesn't matter. But, in the interest of full disclosure, the Fuze is known as the HTC P4600.

Here is my solution to UC.
1.I installed SASHIMI to my storage card
2.My sdconfig.txt on that card now contains the following:

LOCK:Enabled
XML:\Storage Card\SASHIMI\Manual\XML\01_Com.xml
CPY1:\Storage Card\SASHIMI\Manual\Root\Configure.lnk
CPY2:\Windows\Start Menu\Configure.lnk
LOCK:Disabled

Basically, my XML provisioning for my exchagne setup, and copying my Configure.lnk to the start menu.
Configure.lnk simple points to the autorun files of SASHIMI.
Now, I can throw in cabs, scripts, files, and exes to run at first boot.
After the standard ROM customization happens, I have to click start->configure and the rest is automagic.

(HINT: What you are trying to do can be easily done by placing a mortscript file to hide whatever needs hidden into the AUTO/SCRIPTS folder of SASHIMI)

PM me if you want further details

Thanks for clearing that out. I presume things will turn to how they were if i flash another rom/stock rom (with other roms i tried before i had a rather long no. there for that package line and also had model no. t7272)

Thanks NATF v4.2 is the charm!

ONE QUESTION:

In adding additional Programs to the Fuze either into main memory or storage card the Program Icons are added outside the program folders you set up (except for one game that goes into game folder).

Is there any way to move these Program Icons into the folders you set up?

im asking this question because noone has even mentioned attempting to duplicate the issue. natf mentioned what he had done and i provided a video of me doing the exact same thing he did and we received different results. i asked if im doing something wrong.

are you saying that you attempted what i had done in the video and you had no issues? if so then that answers my question.

all im trying to do is help natf find potential bugs and have a more perfect rom.

I was able to duplicate the issue. I must now re-enter the SMS thread for each unread message
I'll try a quick fix and see if it works, will post back with results.

UPDATE: I can verify this cab will work with v4.2. It may work with other ROMs and versions, but it is intended for NATF v4.2B

just ordered my first fuze on ebay, was worried about that ugly silver theme and the ATT crap, especially since im not in the US.

happily the fuze came with 4.something lite. i had done research on the phone and found this place before i even bought it so i realized what it was right away.

he put the touch pro version on it however, so the keyboard was all out of wack. so i just flashed (for the first time) the regular version on it. so we'll see how it goes.

all seems well though, much thanks for not having to ever see that ATT crap!

I'll try a quick fix and see if it works, will post back with results.

UPDATE: I can verify this cab will work with v4.2. It may work with other ROMs and versions, but it is intended for NATF v4.2B

upon further testing of the fix i found that it resolved the sms issue but noticed that i am no longer able to view emails. i can see the emails that arrive but cannot open the individual messages. also the envelope to the left of the message when in the inbox are no longer visible.

i too wanted to apologize to gary and everyone for my part in the dispute.

It doesnt include it by default. I wish it did too. Though i ave the cabs for it anyways.

Well I would prefer not to have it installed. I use TouchLocKPro to solve the issue. The phone auto unlocks .5 seconds after I get it out of my pocket if I am not in the dark. It uses the light sensor. If I am in the dark or want it to unlock quicker, I just remove the stylus which also unlocks the phone.

Yes, I know that. Some people use slide to answer with windows lock instead of a lock program. I like the big green answer button. It is very easy to press with my thumb. Why do I need to move my thumb to answer the call instead of just pressing the green answer button? If it is easy to install after flashing the ROM why add it to the ROM if other people do not want it. I love TouchLockPro, but it should not be included in the ROM. It is easy to install after a flash or as part of UC.

Doubt it will be uploaded until the next real release. NaTF and the rest of us would go nuts it he uploaded a new rom each time one bug was squashed. If you ment, would it be uploaded with the next real release, then ignore this spinning of wheels!!

Haven't seen this mentioned since 4.2 was released, I entered my hotmail info into the email accounts but instead of just opening like the other email accounts it opens Opera. Is this happening to anyone else? Could it be the version of Windows Live cooked in? Previously when I set up hotmail it would behave like other email accounts.

EDIT: I corrected the issue by uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Live from a version I had previously. Not sure why it was different.

If you allowed the settings to be retrieved automatically, it may have configured the account as webmail; instead of IMAP or POP3.

OK. I've managed to fix Cellular Video and Streaming Media.

Initial credit goes to shep211 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=614320) for his fix. Upon looking at the CAB file he provided, I noticed that it was a version of Streaming Media from the Diamond. For whatever reason, after installing the CAB, Streaming Media became graphically distorted... but it worked. :)

I started thinking that it was probably one of the DLLs from that CAB that fixed Streaming Media, so I ripped it apart. After a few failures, it ultimately came down to just replacing the Streaming Media EXE file.

If you are currently running my ROM, download the first CAB file, install, and soft reset when prompted. When you relaunch Cellular Video, HTC Streaming Media should open, connect, and start playing without error/distortion.

If you are using a ROM that does not include Streaming Media, please download the second (larger) CAB.

Bear in mind that Cellular Video will still require the hidden proxy to be configured on your device. My CABs do not add those settings.

Then at last minute before leaving work i switched to the Touch pro one.

Hi.

I'm having a problem with the GPS (using NATF Fuze 4.2).

- Using the GPS Test tool, it hangs on "GPS Starting Up"

- In my GPS program, it switches between "GPS Antenna Connected" and GPS Antenna Not Found" every second. Everytime the antenna is connected, there are about 1 or 2 satellites that it picked up, but then it loses it.

- HTC GPS Tool Reports the following over and over again:
GPGGA,,,,,,0,,,,,,,,*66
$GPVTG,,T,,M,,N,,K,N*2C
$GPRMC,,V,,,,,,,,,,N*53

Hi all,

I have a few points and comments to make about 4.2:

1. GPS Issue: When fist booted with 4.2 ROM i experienced the same issue as Darwinmach, i rebooted the phone a couple of times and then it stated working fine and has since yesterday.

2. As soon as i installed the new ROM, the phone started to get hot (as when talking for a long time or using Wifi) and draining the battery fast, a mean real fast going from 100% to 10% in as little as 3 hours with the phone on stand by, It still does it and i don't know why. I suspect it may have to do with the GPS not turning off after closing any of the GPS software i use, I will continue researching.

3. I have a Fuze but i am not with ATT, how can I use the Fuze ROm and remove all of the hidden proxy settings? (i tried the remove hidden proxy cab and did not work) I do not like the soft buttons settings on the Raphael ROM as well as the video dialer which is useless in a Fuze, so my ideal version would be a Fuze ROM without any proxy settings. On versions previous to 4 i used to go in the registry and remove all proxy settings manually but since Version 4 things have change and it is different, the manual removal did not work.

Other than that another great ROM, thanks to NaTF.

I noticed the same. I did a fresh install making sure I have the Fuze ROM to go with my Fuze and it made no difference. What I see is

- Calendar - opens Calendar
- Contacts - opens NOTHING
- Messaging - opens Messaging
- Internet - opens NOTHING
- CV - opens Windows Media
- IM - open Messaging
- SMS - opens NOTHING
- Music - opens File Explorer

-Tim

Ahh, the light came on. This has been report before with 4.0 and 4.1. Not sure what the status is though.
One post above this. You need to map them.

I am unable to map the Music key. How is this done?

Perhaps a different radio would help? Try the Raphael Radio thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2822877&postcount=2). If you're Security Unlocked, the Blackstone Radios are said to be pretty good on battery life. If not, you can try a few other Raphael radios. I'm using the BS 1.10.25.25 radio and its pretty good on battery life, and my GPS lock is awesome, using aGPS and all.

had fuze since it came out in November. I have put on every one of NATF's Roms and as for the Radio I changed to .28 about December time frame. Everything was great on ROM v 4.0 as far as battery life. Today with very lite use I am at 43% and only had it off the charger for 5 hours. No wifi on today and in a strong signal area. Also, when I plugged into my cradle charger last night a message came up asking if I wanted to Active Sync or use as a disk drive. hmmmm

So is there any sort of recommended GPS settings or programs for this ROM now?

I am using the QuickGPs the rom came with to get the "pre" fix, but after loading up google maps and hitting "use GPS" it sits there for pretty much forever as far as I can tell without locking on to any sats.

I used to use GPStest to fix some satellite but it always took forever - is the HTC GPS tool any better? (htc tool used to lock up my old Da_G ROM).

I haven't been able to respond to that Snap2Face error yet since my account seems to be on a server being serviced or some error of that sort on facebook's side.

thx

Also, on a related note, what is the best GPS software that DOESNT require one to use their sd card? (I want one i can install on my existing 8gb, thx)

With battery, i noticed some apps that query bluetooth can have weird battery effects. I was using a version of Winterface for its simple layout and the battery drained so fast i could watch it... Idle and drain.....

So, check your apps, or any apps that show status on things... once i turned off the bluetooth monitor from Winterface, battery was normal again.

Of course, I will definitely be downloading this tonight. However, I don't see any of the issues I'm having with 4.1 in the version changes.

The first (and most prominent issue) is one that's been discussed over and over, and that is the black bar/predictive test. Of all the discussion, I still do not have a fix. If you remove T9, the Full QWERTY keyboard gets stuck on numerals. If you don't remove T9, you get the black bar. On top of that, when using the Full QWERTY OSD, directly spelling out words still puts a grey "learned" word at the end of the current word. As soon as I hit the space bar, I get a word that makes no sense. ie: I'll type "home" and I'll see a random greyed out word (like "time", which was the most recent) in front of it. I hit space and get "hometime". I think have to go back and delete the extra characters. This does not happen with the physical keyboard, but I still get the black bar. If you're texting, and don't hit "enter" before sending the text, the black bar stays on the screen, and inputs the last suggested word as soon as you hit "enter". This is by far the biggest, most pain in the butt thing. It ruins an otherwise near perfect ROM.

The other problems are smaller, but repeatable.

- When switching from camera to photo album, the screen often goes black. You have to either SR, or hit the "home" button, then close out "Album" using Task Manager.

- Opera Internet connection dying. Everything else works, but Opera returns a big red "ERROR!" until you stop/start the network connection.

- Task bar flickering (might not be ROM-related). The bottom bar with the soft keys often flickers (like when you put a magnet next to an old CRT monitor). Also, you can sometimes see "Calendar" and "Contacts" ghosted into the screen. I'm certain this is not LCD "burn in", because it's not always there.

Other than that, I'm a huge NATF fan. Donation sent!!

my problem is not with S2U2 but with TF3D displaying weather in S2U2. From my understanding, in the settings of S2U2 you can set the weather to display from "Manilla 3D" which is TF3D, but mine doesnt display the weather that TF3D downloads.

I also had noticed this. It seems that sometimes it displays it for me and sometimes it doesn't. I haven't figured out what causes it but I think it has could have to do with when the whether syncs and what S2U2 is doing at the time, but could be something else.

I can't remember what version but i had this working, once. It was short lived. after that i just gave up since it was not that important to me to see it on the unlock screen. I do remember that i had to choose the weather option source (can't remember what one) and had to soft reset to see the weather displayed.

The black bar still exists in v4.2, but it doesn't actually insert any text when it pops up; It's been downgraded to a "graphical" glitch.

But... a fix for this is coming very soon! Stay tuned.

- When switching from camera to photo album, the screen often goes black. You have to either SR, or hit the "home" button, then close out "Album" using Task Manager.

This is fixed by the HTC Album Fix CAB I added to the new ROM. However, the htcmdp.dll issue that fixes this problem makes YouTube videos play crappy.

- Opera Internet connection dying. Everything else works, but Opera returns a big red "ERROR!" until you stop/start the network connection.

I have never seen this.

My apology. This wasn't so much directed AT YOU as to people in general. Several have been acting like NATF has been putting out ROMs that constantly crash and fail.

I just chose your message of: "Why make more messages for you to field with an unstable release." to reply to.I think you will agree his ROMs are really stable, regardless of what known bugs may be in them.

Again, my apology for offending you.

After testing this fix by texting back and forth for over an hour, I am pleased to report that the black box no longer popped up.

Download and install NATF xt9 Disable, soft reset, done. Prior to resetting, please check the onscreen keyboard (in portrait and landscape) and ensure that the T9 slider is set to ABC.

S2U2 Problem?
Okay, I'm sorry to make an example of you, but base on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=476671
I am going to...

First, what S2U2 problem? I use S2U2 every day, I get 14 hours plus out of a battery. I use the slide to answer and pretty much every feature of S2U2 all day. So in my own/personal opinion, there is no S2U2 problem with version 1.42 at least.
My appointments, weather, notifications.. everything works exactly as I'd expect it to.

Second:
When posting something like this I suggest the following,
1. Detail exactly what you have installed (even better, start with a fresh flash or hard reset and load only the application in question, Do you still have the problem?)
2. Detail the exact version and symptoms experienced
3. Try to fix it yourself and contribute your information, sometimes even a post with a little progress can help another user complete their own progress, thus the solution is provided.

LOL, thanks?

I posted on 2 pages before this:
Second, I cannot get manilla 3d weather to work with S2U2. It shows the temperatures if i disable TF3D, but once i enable it again, they are gone. Is that a ROM problem?

And if YOU'd read the thread, i am not the ONLY one who has the same problem. I did provide that i was using version 3.2 of NAFT's ROM and the latest S2U2 version. And my contribution was that I dug all around the internet for the same problem, and I did find that disabling TF3D would make the weather appear in the S2U2 lock screen, but re-enabling it did make it go away again.

in the s2u2 FAQ:

A. Check if you have added custom city; try to add a non-custom city.
A. Check if you have set the weather to update itself automatically; try different setting.
A. No perfect solution yet.

I have done the first two options.

from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2783117&postcount=23

Q. Manila 3D Weather does not work
A. I just found there is some differences in the registry between devices with different locales. So that's make S2U2 may not show or even hang when "Manila 3D Weather" is selected. If you want to speed up the debug, please send me the followings:
1. Windows\_2330fc3c_manila
2. Application Data\HTC\databases\forecast_cache.db
(remember to stop TouchFlo 3D first before copy these 2 files, i.e. unselect it under Today)
3. Dump of the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila
4. Specify which country/city you've currently selected in the weather tab

Im not tech-savy so i have no idea what that means, but i figure the registry in most if not all NAFT's roms for TF3D would be the same, thereofore, i figured i wouldnt make this complicated post to report an issue i assumed more people had. Seeing as how NAFT replied to another person's concerns, I was reminding him to answer mine, a simple "i dont know what your issue is about" would be better than nothing.

And finally, im sorry for degrading the quality of XDA developers with my posts lol.

What is it with me and Bluetooth in 4.2? Did I do something to piss it off? Maybe I didn't sacrifice a big enough headset.

This 4.2 ROM is one of the best in my opinion. It's working good. I'm having what I'd call a "Cosmetic Bluetooth Glitch". After I flashed the Fixed version of 4.2 I turned Bluetooth on and it works! Only thing is on the top bar where the battery, signal strength, etc. are I have two Bluetooth logo's. Because nobody has mentioned it yet, I ass-u-me I'm the only one seeing it. It began right after the flash & I turned on Bluetooth, so I'm fairly certain it's not external software.

Any ideas on this one? Or does it mean I get double the Bluetooth?:D

I only have 1 Bluetooth icon when using my standard headset. But if I use my brother's A2DP headphones, I will occasionally see a Bluetooth icon with a headphone image over the icon.

Sorry if this has been covered but I downloaded v4.2 the first time and when extracting it I entered the password. I rec'd an error message saying wrong password. Now every time I try to open and extract it will not give me the option to re-enter the password, it simply errors out. I have deleted the file and re-downloaded from scratch but it still will not alow me to re-enter the correct password. Any suggestions?
I had the same issue and I had to download it from the mirror site and it worked fine from there.

It kept acting like the download was cut off before the entire file was downloaded.

I was using the latest version of winRAR because I just downloaded it a few minutes ago.

In the limited experience I've had with Remote Desktop on Windows Mobile, I'd like to make the following observations (and I hope they help):

I'd LOVE it if we could specify a resolution for the remote desktop window, even if it meant scrolling on such a sharp and pretty screen as the Fuze has. It's really hard to see some of the desktop fonts after they've been scaled down that much!

I believe the scaling font issues have NOTHING to do with our mobile devices, and everything to do with the remote desktop server (i.e. your desktop or server) trying to scale a font down, not finding what it needs, and substituting a default stretched font. Again, I don't think the fix is with the mobile device -- unless we can get a new RDP client.

Hope that helps!

Actually, once you mentioned that you were still seeing the box, I remembered that I also had to flip that switch. I updated the post above.

First, let me call myself an imbecile to save some of you the trouble.
Second, flip what switch where. (I don't know where the onscreen keyboard T9/ABC option is).

Thanks. BTW, this ROM is awesome. OCN is working great. My Fuze has arrived at perfection!

Check the bottom row or the right side of the on screen keyboard for that switch ;)

The black bar still exists in v4.2, but it doesn't actually insert any text when it pops up; It's been downgraded to a "graphical" glitch.

But... a fix for this is coming very soon! Stay tuned.[QUOTE]
Excellent

[QUOTE]This is fixed by the HTC Album Fix CAB I added to the new ROM. However, the htcmdp.dll issue that fixes this problem makes YouTube videos play crappy.
Fair tradeoff. I rarely use YouTube, but I use the camera/album all the time.

I have never seen this. (Opera connection dying)
Really!? This has happened with every single NATF ROM I've used so far. It might've happened with the ATT ROM, but truthfully, I switched to your ROM within a day of getting the Fuze.

I can't reproduce it reliably, but it happens more often than not. I have my own Exchange server, and mail comes in all day. I can open up Weather and it'll update within seconds. I open up Opera using the browser tab in TF3D, and I get an error. If I soft reset or kill/restart the data connection, it works just fine. It will either display: "ERROR! The remote server refuses to perform the request. This address is not available". It also affects IE as well. If I try and go to either device.home or google.com (for example), I'll get "You are not authorized to view this page". If I restart the data connection, all is well.

Haven't seen this either... (flickering scree)
I have seen others in this very thread (or maybe the v3 thread) complain about this as well. At first, I thought it was some sort of RF interference or something. Now, I'm wondering if my phone is faulty. Hmmm....

I don't use Remote Desktop on my phone, so I can't be of much help there. Sorry.

Well I got a tip from a friend of mine on the CDMA scene, apparently its common, if your color depth is set to 256. I set it to 16bit and its all happy. Not the greatest solution, because 16 bit is like watching paint dry if you're stuck on EDGE, luckily I live in New Jersey where the 3g is everywhere.

Let me know if you ever need an account on a terminal server to test with. I have one and it works pretty nice.

NATF cooks the Diamond keyboards into his ROMs (they're the keyboards you can touch with fingers, without the help of the stylus, if that makes sense). The phone calls them "Phone Keypad", "Compact QWERTY", and "Full QWERTY" on the input method pick list (the up-facing arrow to the right of the on screen keyboard method).

I can verify that the above is a VERY common occurance in the Stock Att Rom.

I too have seen the forbidden error on opera but it only has happened to me on 1. stock rom and 2. on a v3 version. i had to turn off data connection and back on for it to work. all other data such as email etc. worked. if you tired to use IE as well it would not give you an error or such it just would not display anything except a white screen. It looks like it is loading the page but nothing displays. i have not been able to get on the internet on this version yet to try to duplicate but i will try.

It's random when it would do it. I even thought about bringing it down to the ATT store for them to see it when i got the error one time so i could show them that if i turn data off and back on it would start to work again. I then got a hold of the first ROM (v2.3) i used and it fixed it so i didn't think it was a hardware issue at that point. Then it showed it's ugly head again in a v3 version but have not seen it since.

It's not that SPB Backup won't work. Just as pim.vol can be copied via a script to the storage card, cemail.vol should also be able to be copied. This way, it can all be done via sdconfig when a new ROM is installed.

Seems reasonable. I guess if you don't already have a ton of stuff configured and don't use UC, try a reflash. I haven't noticed any other posts in here about 4.2 being a battery drain.

I am still sitting on 2.3 because it's been rock solid and everything I use just works. But I want the new interface and some things have gotten a little slow seeming lately

Oh wow. I just flashed from 2.3 to 4.2 last night!

2.3 was rock solid and did not let me down, but as of last week it began hiccuping quite a bit.

4.2 so far has given me no issues. It is slightly faster than 2.3 but I wouldn't consider it night and day.

NATF, thank you for your time and effort!

BTW, 4.2 seems to keep attempting to start a connection data. This may be why some are experiencing battery drains. I will post again at the end of the day to have a better report.

Ok, got yah. Was just curious, thats all.

The method i use is that right before a flash i do a full backup to SD with the software, restart the phone and flash. my SDConfig is set to run backup file to do a restore of the backup as the last thing to do after the flash and config is done. That way it restores all my goodies, restarts the phone and good to go.

With all these battery issues, if it drains as fast as you say, would it take about 30 mins to an hour to notice a big drain?

If so, i would suggest doing a reflash, but do not let your SD config run, and dont install any apps. Just config your email if you really need it, and sync in your contacts.

After an hour, you should see whether it is a ROM issue, or that your battery is fine, just some app that gets installed. Also may be a radio issue that doenst want to play nice with this ROM.

My phone was not plugged in last night, at 80%. I woke many hours later and the phone was at 77%. My Radio is 1.02.25.32, but i will be jumping back to the .25.20 as i was just running some tests.

Give that a whirl and good luck.

I am also getting the battery drain issues and had that opera error yesterday. I was also having stability issues with the ROM and for some reason the power on/off button was really sluggish to respond after I flashed my radio to blackstone .25 (altho i dont see why that would have any effect on that) - sorry I have so little details to offer. I should've done each prog one-by-one to see what the problem is, but I am going to reflash or hard reset today and reinstall everything and see if i can reproduce any of this.

BTW has anyone gotten the Slide to ANSWER to work well on this phone with any version? I cannot stand the standard dialer/answer screen and this would be awesome to have.

As for my GPS inquery from before, I tried installing both GpsTest and HTC GPS tool. I am finding quicker and more stable fixes using GPStest for some reason over HTC GPS Tool - any reason for this? Cold start on HTC GPS tool btw.

Thx for a sweet ROM NATF!

There is a newer version of TouchResponse out there. I tried converting what I could into a package, but DA_G has informed me that I am missing a few things in the package for the drivers to be called upon. Here is what I have so far, so I am thinking you could make it work faster for your next ROM (and then post the package for my own goodies!!)

Haptic Feedback has a settings applet under Settings -> System.

I know. I tried to capture the registry setting that changed when I turned it on/off and reproduce them in a mortscript so I could turn it on/off with a button, but while the registry changes changed, it did not toggle the haptic feedback. So there must be something that SKTracker is missing.

Maybe - to test if that is what ate up my battery - I will install the touch response from a cab and see if that speeds up the battery drain. I will think about it.

Just wanted to let everyone know what works well for me.
1. I security unlocked my Fuze
2. I loaded the Blackstone radio 1.10.25.25
3. I copied the rilphone.dll from the Radio thread that matched the 1.10.25.25 radio, and soft-reset

From what I understand from the folks in the radio thread, the rilphone.dll is matched in a ROM to the radio version. This is the layer between the software and the radio rom. So if commands, improvements, enhancements whatever (okay, those last two might be the same thing :-) ) are made in the radio rom, the rilphone.dll has to be changed to use them.

Your mileage may vary

Oh yeah... My battery can last with moderate to heavy usage for 1.5 - 2 work days (about 14-16 hours of use)

Information about what I install:
FuzeBerry 7.0
S2U2 1.42
Resco Explorer (7.05 I think)
Live Mesh,
Slick,
Skyfire,
Snap2Face,
WinMobile Torrent (Don't Judge Me!),
WMWifiRouter,
zaTelnet Pro/zaTunnel,
CorePlayer 1.3,
Garmin Mobile XT 5.something
GeoScout (not used daily, especially in winter)

I have Exchange syncing from 6 am to 10 pm as new items arrive.

bump.. i just need an answer .. i'm going to update to v4.2 but if people are doing it in a simpler way i just want to know.

This has been answered about 20 times, but YES. You will need to install anything extra. Use UC, which you can read about in post #2.

I updated to V4.2 yesterday. I am still having some issues with GPS. I tried loading when of the audio increases cabs but doesn't seem todo anything.

Is there CAB file that I can use to Increase VOLUME for alarms etc....

Just flashed to 4.2.
Now, when I plug it into a wall charger, it prompts me to choose ActiveSync, Disk Drive or Internet Sharing. Anyone else seeing this?

I've tried a couple different wall chargers and a car charger. They all do it.

The charge current ((using AEB's Uptime Report) also never goes above 260. Not sure if this really means it only uses trickle charge mode, but I often got charge currents over 600 using a wall charger.

This is consistant with my findings as well. Took my wall charger a full 8hours to get me from 18% up to 85%.... Trickle trickle trickle..

Where in the US is your phone used most? And how is your reception with that Blackstone radio?

I am in northern Indiana. I travel throughout Indiana and northern Kentucky, Western Ohio and Chicago areas. I find my signal strength for Phone, Bluetooth, Wifi, and GPS to be great.

I chose to (security unlock) because NATF said the radio he was using got good battery life. Some people say that the M1 radio for the Raphael is pretty good. I myself have never tried it, so I can't really compare. the M1 wasn't available at the time, so I security unlocked to get better radios.

From what I understand, the rilphone.dll is pretty key to the whole deal... but I could be wrong, as I am simply repeating information I've read here.

I personally recommend security unlocking. However I was around for the great radio disaster on the tilt. You never know when being security unlocked could save your butt. :)

Great job with the ROMs - I admire your dedication!

Is there any way to get VOIP/SIP working natively with WM6.1 on Fuze? Never had any success with the various CABs, dlls and registry tweaks posted around the forum. I make a lot of international calls, so would be great to have the VOIP calling option directly available in the dialer, out-of-the-box, so to speak!

re: rilphone.dll:
one way to implement would be to dump the rom that comes with the radio, grab rilphone.dll, insert into your rom, cook.
but that only works if you have the oem/rom/sys or if the rom is unprotected so you can dump/recook..
if the chef has patched nk.exe in your rom to skip security checks, you can simply copy rilphone.dll to device as rilphone2.dll
or similar, and change the registry to point to that, soft reset.. if rom is not cert patched it won't load without proper signatures.

Does NATF's rom have the nk.exe that da_g talks about, so I can just copy and past a new radios rilphone.dll into the windows folder?

Thanks.

Sure does. I copied the rilphone.dll file just fine in NATF v4.2 (not sure about older versions though).

This is my first cooked ROM and it works great. I am using it with no problems. If I find a bug I will post it.
Thanks again.

where is the rilphone.dll for the .25 blackstone radio? I cant seem to find it! That would be awesome if that really fixes the battery issue.

if youre a super noob like me, you'll find the one you need to replace in teh windows directory. its a hidden file i believe.

man, finding correct search strings is sometimes such a huge PITA...

I just tried cooking into the ROM the OEM packages you uploaded. The black box is still there, and now I no longer have the drop down suggestions either? What did I do wrong? and how do I fix it? I even recopied the two xt9 pacakges from your 4.1 kitchen... or is that my problem? I need to use the 4.3 kitchen packages? I am downloading those now to see.

i have the stock wall charger and it does not ask for the option. it charges the same as it has before.

when plugged up to PC it ask for disk or sync and also charges lil slower.

have 70% after the high peak of the day of using it.

looks like we have a nice stable mild stone ROM for the v4 series! thank you! Ladies and Gentlemen i believe our monthly membership fees are due :D

NATF, what about video call? In 4.1 works well, but in 4.2 freez phone after 2 sec.
