All ROMs use SYS and XIP from OS 21054. The HTC-based ROMs use the Asia 5.07 OEM folder, and the AT&T ROM uses the AT&T 5.05 OEM folder.

DO NOT FLASH any of these ROMs TO A Non-GSM Touch Pro!
(i.e Sprint, Verizon, Alltel, Telus, etc...)

Splash Screen:

My ROMs are distributed with a custom boot splash screen, so if you flash to a different ROM that does not include one, you will still see my screen during boot up. Go to this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436105) for instructions on changing your initial (boot) splash screen.

Radios:

Because radio performance tends to vary greatly from area to area, I do not include one with any of my ROMs. You can flash any Raphael radio to your Fuze/Touch Pro, and if your phone is security unlocked, you can also flash radios from the Diamond, Blackstone, Xperia, and a few other HTC devices.

UC: (User Customization)

These ROMs are UC Compatible. If you are not familiar with UC, check out the this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337) for details. PLEASE NOTE: UC runs automatically upon Initial Customization finishing. Your phone will automatically reset after about 1 minute.

Ditto. Looks like we found the first bug. Other than that everything seems to be working well so far. I will wait until the bug with TF3d is fixed before upgrading to the latest release of Fuzeberry as I really need to edit the order of the tabs.

Thanks for the hard work Todd. In addition to being a master chef, you are also one of the kindest folks on the forum. YOU ROCK!!!

I got the TF3d config to work by installing cab other than the one I had tried before. I don't know the difference but it now works. I think this is the one I installed.

Changelog:

[From v3.2 -> v4.0]

New splash screen.
New 21009 OS build. (ported by Da_G)
Even more storage memory available! (~360MB Lite, ~340MB Standard)
Added Touch Response (device vibrate upon screen tap/touch, not tested)
Added Upload to Facebook/YouTube (not tested)
Updated HTC Album to latest Blackstone version.
Updated HTC Volume Control
Updated rilphone.dll to allow Rogers/Fido Caller ID to work correctly. (not able to test)
I'm sure there's more, but I cannot remember right now...

Hi NATF, I'm with Rogers but am using a Touch HD. I just have a question, including this rilphone.dll has no ill effect on your non Rogers/Fido phone?? I am hoping to convince someone in the Blackstone forum to cook this in their ROM. I've tried it myself and it does work, but my cooking skills are poor at best and my ROM does not perform well...

NATF,
2 bugs I've come across so far.
1st, When i set the phone to vibrate via the touch screen, then nothing will save when it closes and remains with the previous system and ring volume. when i set the volume with the hard keys to silent or vibrate, then it will save the desired state but the top-nav icon displays remains as if sound is active/allowed.
behavior changed after soft reset, as previously it would display the silent mode for vibrate or silent.
2nd, Haptic feedback is very random and has only vibrated a handful of times during all my setup and usage since midnight

NATF,
2 bugs I've come across so far.
1st, When i set the phone to vibrate, the top-nav icon displays Silent, sometimes it saves as silent, and sometimes as vibrate, and sometimes it ignores my change and stays with system and ring volume unchanged. in anycase, it never displays the vibrate function icon.
2nd, Haptic feedback is very random and has only vibrated a handful of times during all my setup and usage since midnight

Bump. Same problems here, I can wait though. Thnx for the given to the community NATF

thanks for the great rom NATF, i just got a question. i tried to us the Cellular Video that you have on the Lite version of the 4 series and everytime i try to view a video it tells me

"the file 'streamingplayer' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem presists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"

just wanted to know if you even knew about it and if there was a fix for it in the works or if there already is. thanks for everything

v4 is my favorite to date. I do have a couple of problems, I think some of these were mentioned before, but I'll list them for the sake of making sure...

First, The volume control/levels seem very speratic. Sometimes it registers, sometimes it doesn't seem to save what I select. Most often, it appears not to save.

Second, Was the modified task bar (the one that popped up a window with buttons for each taskbar item) taken out for a reason? I really miss this feature. My fat fingers don't keep hitting the wrong icon when I'm trying to make changes.

Third, TF3D Config fails to start.

I hope this gets fixed soon. Maybe an issue with the new build?

This is a killer. I def. need that. Which version did you download? Fuze/TouchPro - Lite/Standard?

A working version of TF3D was found a few posts above yours.

I've done some looking into the audio issue, and it appears to be an API change by msoft.. this is a beta build per some digging so it's not likely there will be a fix for this unless msoft put in a registry flag to toggle the old behavior.. looking for that..

I haven't tried out NATF's lite versions, but is it possible that the streaming player was not included in the lite version?

Findings

1: TF3D mail tab showing an extra mail envelope
2. Exchange mail account tab not giving an email count (non exchange email tab is)

Gps is working great for me

Just had the video share added on my plan.. just need to test it.

MSVC is working. Previously have had issues that others didnt with Incoming call announcing. Using A2DP and all seems good.

Sounds have changed. kinda liked having the obnoxious alarms to get my lazy butt out of bed.. not an issue just observed.

Thanks NATF for another great ROM. It is a sign of a great COOK to have the entire XDA site go down everytime NATF puts out a new ROM..

sensitivity on the outer ring is insane. just brusing up it will move the cursor

also after i soft reset am getting the "logon to sever window" asking me for user name and password and domain for media net ... i think it has something to do with the data connection in (communications) its not working it says "no data connection exists" but when i update the weather or go on opera it connects... but i can't connect to data using comm manager...

about the GPS im using google maps with street view and since NATF v3.0 i cant get a gps lock on it and the blue dot dosent work at all not sure whats going on there but i tried every fix i could find notting seems to work... :( any help here is Greatly Appreciated....

aslo when ever i try to add to the people tab it crashes it crashed on me like 3 times and when it crashes notting works i have to take out the battery to reset it...

i also noticed something different, when you turn on your Fuze is everyone getting this pic "NATF Touch Pro Series" i thought i might have flashed the touch pro rom instead of the fuze one, also the icon for the rom is not the same as in all his other ones its not custom ruu with the fuze icon its a Raphael Wrapper with some blue icon, not sure if it has anything to do but i'll wait for everyone's thoughts on this

agian Thanks for all your hard work NATF......

First time using spb backup with switching ROMS and it switched over perfectly. Also in this version its noticeably faster than 3.2.

ActiveSync works for me.

Great ROM so far, still testin it out.

Nevermind, just started working out of nowhere :D

Well seems as though I spoke prematurely (twice now). I can sync from pOutlook if I have no subfolders set to sync, I cannot sync from activcesync at all, if I have just email to sync I get the 0x80070008 error, with the calendar I get 0x80070057 (I guess permission denied which I dont get at all) Didnt have any problems with 3.2, anybody else experiencing something similar if trying to sync more than just the inbox?

I'm trying to sync to an Exchange Server, and I'm also getting an error. Also, I'm trying to Hard Reset, to see if that'll fix the issue, and its not working!

EDIT: I'm going to re-flash and see if that fixes anything.

EDIT2: Just reflashed, and I still get the 0x80070008 error when trying to sync to the Exchange server. I'm going to have to return to 3.2, since all of my Contacts, Calendar, etc are stored on that server.

Thanks NATF for all the hard work!

I've been stepping through all of the versions and v4.0 is definately an improvment over 3.2. Perf is up along with usability. I was having some delay and interaction hiccups with 3.2 but 4 cleans them all up.

So far IE feels better as well. No problems with GPS.

This is the way it should have been from the store! :)

Thanks again!

Second, Was the modified task bar (the one that popped up a window with buttons for each taskbar item) taken out for a reason? I really miss this feature. My fat fingers don't keep hitting the wrong icon when I'm trying to make changes.

with or without TouchFlo enabled, unable to check the 3rd box in Settings/System: TouchFLO for the "Show System Status screen when status icons are tapped"

for the other guy who asked - the Fuze v4 Standard also has the new/updated welcome screen

no problems connecting with WMDC on Vista

2nd, Haptic feedback is very random and has only vibrated a handful of times during all my setup and usage since midnight

I noticed this as well but it's most likely going off every time you touch but it's to soft and quick for you to feel it. Change the value in your touch response all the way up and you can test whether it works but of course it will be a ridiculously long vibrate for each touch. I had mine on 15ms which worked well for me before I decided I did not need it.

I don't know of a fix but it seems similar to the problem in v3.1 where one could not change the ring tones due to the DRM or something like that. The setting just reverts back when OK is pressed.

The phone is definitely connected to the computer through Activesync when I tried it that way. That doesn't change the fact that its not working from the phone, as it always has.

I finally got my phone to hard reset. I had to leave it attached to the computer for it to register the Volume Down button properly. For some reason it just wouldn't work otherwise. Now to see if that makes a difference . . .

I haven't noticed any issues myself. I had the DLL cooked into my test version for almost a week...

NATF,
2 bugs I've come across so far.

See Da_G's post about the sound issue. He's a lot better in the registry then me, so hopefully he finds a magic fix. :)

Haptic Feedback is very sporadic for me too.

thanks for the great rom NATF, i just got a question. i tried to us the Cellular Video that you have on the Lite version of the 4 series and everytime i try to view a video it tells me

Streaming Media is not in the Lite ROM. As soon as I have time to CAB it up, I'll post it. Otherwise, you should be able to locate a compatible version in Da_G's ROM thread.

v4 is my favorite to date. I do have a couple of problems, I think some of these were mentioned before, but I'll list them for the sake of making sure...

Working on this. Can someone remind me what this feature was called?

I've done some looking into the audio issue, and it appears to be an API change by msoft.. this is a beta build per some digging so it's not likely there will be a fix for this unless msoft put in a registry flag to toggle the old behavior.. looking for that..

I'll figure I'll throw in my 2 cents on here.

I'm liking the ROM over 2.3 (last one I flashed) overall.

A few bugs I noticed:

It's really laggy (like stock rom laggy) until Advanced Config is run. Fortunately, I have the file saved. Once I loaded that and rebooted things were a lot better. Didn't seem to remember that with 2.2 or 2.3.

The other one I noticed was after restoring a backup with PPCPimBackup. I have a lot of text messages (mainly ones I'm keeping for evidence against my ex-wife :D) and it didn't import them correctly. In some cases, it found a bunch of texts I supposed tried to send but never did. It looked like it was trying to rethread them and was coming up with a bunch of seeming random texts that didn't resolve until I clicked the thread. Saw a lot of activity at the bottom of the screen, like it was scanning threads or something. Didn't have this in 2.2 or 2.3.

Can't get it to synch with Exchange, but I'm thinking that's more with my server than anything else for right now.

I noticed the rooster alarm was a bit quiet. Mine worked at least, but it was noticeably quiet. Can anything be done with speaker volume (both in call and sounds)? I know that volume isn't necessarily a rom issue, but if anyone can point me to a solution that works I'd appreciate it (already tried the .csv file one and it didn't help).

Haptic program doesn't seem to be working. I know you didn't test it, but thought I'd let you know and to see if anyone else has noticed that.

Nice rom overall, NATF! Thanks!

Now I just gotta change that clock ... :D

Prisoner,

Is that happening while you're connected to ActiveSync? That's how it works normally. If you're connected through ActiveSync it already has an internet [and network] connection so it turns wifi off by itself. Disconnect from AS and the wifi should stay on.

OK, I feel like a complete tool now. I had the phone still plugged into USB, which mucks up item #2. I going to guess item #1 is also related, as unplugging the USB makes WiFi act normally.

On another note, I had something really strange just happen. I surfed Opera over to http://www.hardocp.com/. The page has a fair amount of Flash on it and was loading slowly, so I set the phone down to wait and surfed on my PC.

While I was waiting, my Fuze rebooted itself! No warning, no nothing, it just buzzed a second (as if I'd just turned it on) and I got NATF's splash screen. Even stranger, when it came back up, the soft keyboard settings had altered themselves from "Full QWERTY" to "Compact QWERTY". I've reset the keyboard settings and surfed back to [H]ardOCP without incident since, but I thought the incident worth mentioning.

This started to annoy me in my own Roms on VGA devices, So i fixed this little Lazy Detail from MS Side.

Like the new Splash screen.

1 Pro on the new build that i found on the 3.2 build and is gone now.
The Overal touch response is better now. In previous version 3.2 the programs folder didn't always react to the presses on apps.

Let's see what else can be scratched.

Advanced Config did not Crash with me on the Pro Standard version.
But it has difficulties enabling the Missed Calls Tab, as in not enabling it.

Touch Response set to 10ms has less effect on the Pro then it has on the Diamond.
15ms starts giving a minimal effect with me (and upwards) the Pro is heavier that's why the effect is to little to notice.

So depending on what people think of it, it might be smarter to disable it by default and up the Values a bit.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Snailslug\TouchResponse]
"Duration"=dword:0000000f = 15ms
or
"Duration"=dword:00000014 = 20ms

ok, i changed from the 4.0 lite to the 4.0 standard and everything is working fine except for a couple of things, first is when i try to stream videos it tells me that "file re-entry not allowed" do i have to set it up some how or something. and the other thing is that i cant seem to add some of my contacts on the contacts tab on the TF3D

No, I haven't. I flashed back to 3.2 to confirm it was working, and just re-flashed to 4.0. Now, in the Comm Manager (which looks much nicer than in previous version, btw), I can't toggle on MSDP or the Data Connection. The BT and WiFi toggles work fine, though. And if I open a Web Browser, Data will connect, and then show as connected in Comm Manager, and I can toggle it off, but not back on.

EDIT: Now, when I try to open Activesync, it immediately closes. I guess I'll soft reset again and see if that helps.

I think the errors I was getting were related to memory, I have all the tf3d tweaks to use the max to make it as smooth as possible. When I added them after my last hard reset, I couldnt get as ota working again, disabled one (FATFS cachesize from 32764 back to 16384) and it is working again. Id look at any tweaks you are using that take more memory than default

I haven't tweaked anything. I've literally been flashing the ROM, then immediately setting up the Exchange server on the device. And it hasn't worked once. Its as if its not even connecting to the server, because I don't even get the prompt telling me that my Exchange server has to enforce security policy on my device (and I know I'm connected to the internet, because my Web browsers work fine).

It's really laggy (like stock rom laggy) until Advanced Config is run. Fortunately, I have the file saved. Once I loaded that and rebooted things were a lot better. Didn't seem to remember that with 2.2 or 2.3.

Really? I find the ROM to be quite snappy.

Hey NATF! Great roms....one problem though...I just dL'd your newest ROM v4.....and when I go to flash it goes into the colored screen then to the grey one that usually has the statis for the flash. On the grey one it says " No Image" and then back to bootloader screen it goes?!?! Any ideas? I have flashed All my PDA's since the Hermes and have never seen this.

This is normal. If you have an SD card in the phone, the bootloader always checks it for an image.

Looks like he put together a 20954 SYS that fixes the issue.. NATF? :):)

Looking at it now. ;)

A hard reset fixed this issue.. also seems to have fixed the extra mailbox issue and I now have email count on the TF3D. Back to testing. Sorry for the scare. all looks good.

Good to hear it's working OK.

does anyone know how to tweak the following?
1. how do I get predictive text back for SMS/MMS when typing in the Contact To: name? this was a nifty feature before..
2. how can i display IE favorites within Opera? NATF said previously there was a line in the opera.ini file but i couldn't figure it out...

1. Turn off T9 using the onscreen keyboard, and then it will work again.
2. Opera uses it's own bookmark file.

Hi, I have just hard-spled my device and flashed my htc with newest natf rom, but, after setting proper date, I seem to get a "This concludes the beta test of this software release..." what shall I do now ?

Anyone else see this? The ROM is set to obtain date and time from the network automatically.

Alright... HTC Enlarge Title Bar Attached.

Thank you!!

I'm having a weird soft-reset issue. Whenever I have Windows Media Player playing songs, If I do anything with the volume control buttons or click on the volume icon in the top bar,,, my phone soft resets. I did hard reset after burn and it still happens. Anyone else having this problem??? I think it happens when I have my volume turned all the way up.

Just tested it myself, and the phone did not soft reset.

How about using bitTorrent to distribute the load?

I would consider it, but Verizon seems to be throttling my uploads when using common BT ports. :(

When are the updated CABs going to be posted?

I'm working on it, I promise. I've just been swamped with a lot of stuff lately.

Can anyone confirm if Video Share is working? Is there anything special I need to do on Fuze to enable it?

As long as you have Video Share on your account, tapping the Video Share icon in the dialer should work. I can't confirm this since I don't use Video Share, and all my frenemies have Verizon.

I'm relatively certain my company uses Exchange 2003. It worked with the 3.2 ROM (this morning), and when I flashed back to 3.2 (this afternoon) after it wasn't working on 4.0, it again worked. I'm back on 4.0 and its not working again. So, to summarize, it hasn't worked since I've been on 4.0. I'm also trying to just sync to my local computer, and that's not working either. I've soft and hard reset several times. Unfortunately, since no one else seems to be having this problem, I guess it'll be tough to troubleshoot. The Sync soft key actually stops working. it acknowledges that I'm pushing it, but doesn't do anything.

2. Opera uses it's own bookmark file.

I turned off T9 in Compact Qwerty, full Qwerty, etc. but i use the "Keyboard" input method on the touchscreen and it doesn't suggest like it used to. (edit) - I found the cab to disable t9 instead of just turning it off - and now it works fine!

On my old Tilt when i installed Opera, the IE favorites appeared within Opera in a bookmarked Folder. when i ran your v5 ROM they no longer appeared, and i haven't been able to figure it out since. if this is not to be, then where are the Opera bookmarks stored? file/path. thanks!

I'm on Exchange 2003 and did not have any problems after set up. (I did set it up on my device and not device center / active sync) So far this ROM has been the best. I loaded up FuzeBerry v5.0.0 and everything is running without a hitch.

I just reburnt the ROM and didn't make any changes. The 1st thing I did was open up Windows Media Player. My phone once again soft reset after playing a song. I think its related to my SD Card. Song that are on my main memory play fine, but the SD songs crash it. I have tried deleting my Cache and Metadata off the SD card to see if that helps. Unfortunately it did not.

I'm going to delete all the music on my SD card and recopy them over. Hopefully this resolves my issue as I am happy with this ROM.

I have also been using S2U2 1.40 VGA and i love it had zero issues.

tried Diamond_Black_Slide_To_Answer and it did not work very well and would not uninstall.

I have also been using TouchResponse_v02_2 and i must say that he is right on with this. I have had zero issues and response is great.

for both of them i still have excellent battery life where i usually have 30% battery life after 24 hours (with bt headest, 15min grab, and 45-60 min worth of talk time). on the weekends where i am not talking as much i'll have over 50% on the weekend within a 36hour period. (talking with v3.2 had not had it long enough for v4) i don't think we need to mention with stock rom i was lucky to get a full day out of it and was mandt to charge overnight.

PS...the S2U2 made the phone complete (necessities that is). that was the only thing really missing for me. i hate the WM lock method and enjoy that it does not start playing music or dial on me in my pocket but still gives a quick way to unlock or answer the phone.

I'll report on the v4 once i am on it for couple days.

It wasnt just WkTask for me, ended up being having alot of things running or using some other tweaks for performance takes up to much memory. Do you have any other programs running when trying to connect? I had all these same settings on 3.2 with not a single problem, but scaling everything back seems to be fine for me.

Here's another interesting issue: I have my 16GB microSDHC card partitioned into two separate drives, which has always been fine. Now, however, both HTC Album and HTC Music Player are only seeing my Storage Card (and not Storage Card2, where I keep all my Pics/Music/Documents). File Explorer and the Device see them fine, it just appears to be those two apps. Not sure why that is.

My phone also seems to randomly soft reset while I'm in the middle of doing things, and sometimes icons and the entire contents of menus disappear.

Its a shame too, because GPS is working fabulously with this ROM. Quickest and most stable fix I've EVER gotten, with aGPS enabled, at that!

While I was waiting, my Fuze rebooted itself! No warning, no nothing, it just buzzed a second (as if I'd just turned it on)

This happened to me as well on NAFT's v3.2 after I updated opera to 15202 but not since. Sorry I don't have any answers

I'm getting the 0x80070008 (Out of Memory?) error. It makes no sense.

Is it possible there are some root/security certificates missing from the ROM? That might explain why my server won't connect. It has to authenticate my device and enforce security policies, and if something's missing, that might explain it.

Okay...it wasn't the CAB's...it was a performance tweak I did that caused ActiveSync to no longer sync. Toggling this setting back and forth solves/recreates the problem. Specifically: HKLM\System\Storagemanager\Fatfs and change key Cachesize from 16384 to 32768

The error I receive is noted above: 0x80070008 (Out of Memory?)

Note: Recommendation from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2475291&postcount=1):

Boost TFL3D Performance --> HKLM\System\Storagemanager\Fatfs and change key Cachesize from 16384 to 32768
Much quicker than number 1 on it’s own, now stonkingly fast.

I changed the registry entry noted above to 32768 (the value in my registry was already set to 16384), and soft reset my device. The below chain of events happened upon my phone starting back up:

Got a Voice Command error (for the 2nd time today). I haven't even tried to use Voice Command yet.

VoiceCmd.exe
The file 'VoiceCmd' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

After hitting 'ok' on that box, I'm getting another one:

Shortcut Target
Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename.

and also,

cprog.exe (same error as VoiceCmd)

I do have the phone connected via USB to my computer, but I reset it while connected not an hour ago and it was fine. The phone now appears to be stuck and not doing anything. I guess I'll be soft resetting again.

I'll reset it again before changing the reg entry back, just to verify that's the problem. Activesync still isn't working for me.

EDIT: I can't even get the phone back to a point to change the reg entry. Looks like I'll be hard resetting and flashing 3.2. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of the AS issue, because I really had high hopes for 4.0. Maybe 4.1 will be what I need . . .

The registry setting was one of my problems too, having it 32764 looks like it takes up too much memory for activesync. But you are going straight from a hard reset and it still is not connecting. I saw online some tips for exchange 03 and wm6.1, they were suggesting setting it up from your office, inside the firewall, connected to the computer through active sync. If it works, let it download everything then you **should** be able to connect ota. Hope it helps

That's where I was trying it from in the first place. No go.

I've decided to just go back to 3.2 until this all gets sorted out. If it doesn't, I'm still quite satisfied with that version. Thanks for all your help.

In general, I stay away from threads tell me to make all kinds of registry changes to improve performance. While there certainly may be settings that are good to change with little side effects, they are set that way for a reason.. and that is greater compatability. If you make changes to speed something up or make it work "better", you are probably giving something up elsewhere.

I let the pros work through those settings in their ROMs or if there's something I want to test I do it one at a time and give it a while to see what happens.

Back to your setting above - you are doubling the cache size. That commits more memory to a certain function which may give you more speed, but reduces the available memory. It might also cause conflicts with some applications that were expecting it to be the normal size.

Just my 2 cents...

what to see if anybody has installed these cabs together on v4.
HTC Enlarge Title Bar
TouchResponse_v02_2

the response that was included with the build seemed finicky. i had a great interaction with the TouchResponse on v3.2 so i decided to install.

I installed rom, Setup Exchange (sync no prob) then soft reset, Installed Enlarge Title Bar then soft reset, Installed TouchResponse then soft reset and then freeze on splash screen. i get id info at bottom to pop up but that's as far as it goes.
i did not do a CU since i saw the other post i wanted a clean install.

i have done soft resets and battery out and will not go past splash. going to hard reset to see if i can duplicate or if it was a fluke.

The version of TouchResponse that NATF included in the ROM is the most recent version. If you go in the Touch Response Settings and change the value to 50ms (the default when you install the cab), it should work fine. By installing the cab on top of the program that's already installed in the ROM, that might be making your phone freeze.

I realize this is a quick and dirty "hack" of sorts. But what it does do is give you 2 more buttons in Settings - Buttons. PTT, and PTT (Hold).

What is in this cab?
First, I added 2 buttons to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys...
namely 40C7 and 40C8. 40C6 is Long Send
I named these buttons PTT, and PTT (Hold) respectively.
(My cab also adds the name "Long Send" to the button NATF already had setup for Long Send)

Second, I created a simple app that reads the shortcut setup for the button and executes it. This app is installed as \Windows\PTTMod.exe. This app has 2 options for a parameter. "-long", "-short". I replace the long_ptt.lnk, and short_ptt.lnk to point to this file with appropriate parameter.

I've tested this with NATF's version 3.2 and 4.0 ROMs. I assume it will work with any rom setup to use long_ptt.lnk and short_ptt.lnk and allow those to be replaced.

EDIT: Since Long Send, and Short PTT are both mapped to Voice command, once you enter the Buttons setting program, you'll be forced to change one of them away from Voice command...

Just to confirm: this CAB adds the ability to map programs to the PTT button? Can you choose from the same list as Button 1?

Also, how does it work? Intercept the button press and launch the designated program without actually looking for short_PTT and long_PTT? Or are those shortcuts still required?

Here is the Setup Exactly (Using a short ptt press as example)
Installation adds \windows\pttmod.exe and replaces long_ptt.lnk and short_ptt.lnk
short_ptt.lnk now runs:
\windows\pttmod.exe -short

PTTMod then reads the string
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C7\(Default)
and simply executes the lnk/shortcut specified in that key.

So I don't change anything about the way the button works. I just created 2 bogus buttons in the registry. The standard button setting screen allows you to change these. Instead of the OS actually using these "buttons" I use the long/short_ptt.lnk files that were already setup to read these bogus buttons settings, and run the selected program.

I'm sure you're aware of S2U2 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464695.

I've been using s2u2 v1.40 along with the lastest NATF rom and have had pleasing results. I had major battery loss with the earlier versions of s2u2 under the stock fuze rom, but this combo seems to work well. This probably doesn't help you out at all with Hergs v4 s2a :(

I prefer TouchLockPro which is in the Diamond thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444215&highlight=touchlockpro. It locks the device on power on. It will auto unlock via the light sensor. It will unlock if the stylus is removed or the keyboard is opened. There is a capacitive sensor unlock also.

How does it work?

Thanks.

Re: Diamond Black Slide To Answer (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466519). Works great on v4, so far (only took about 7 calls though) but have been using it for a week on v3.2...I like it as it's simpler than S2U2...only activates on a call and works well with the security lock...keeps one from accidentally getting a call when pulling it out of your pouch/pocket. There's a registry setting to remove the "curtain" (set HKLM/Software/HTC/PHONE/PhoneLockEnable to 0, instead of 1)...my preference.

Here is the Setup Exactly (Using a short ptt press as example)

I don't use a data plan but rather wifi. I synchronize my Yahoo account with my outlook using YPOPs but since it's POP3 when It syncs with my phone my phone of course cant go grab more emails because it's not exchange. So I actually have two accounts with the same emails on my phone because I set up my Yahoo account on my phone as well and it works correctly as it should on any other phone. So I have my Outlook email and POP3 email both on my Fuze with no problems other than wishing Yahoo could turn itself into an Exchange server.

ISP.Cingular is only available if you have a Laptop Connect or PDA Plan w/ tethering. The ISP connection gives you a semi-static IP address, and doesn't route you through 5 million firewalls, so you get much faster speeds on it.

I am not sure this is relavent, but when the Exchange sync feature was added to the 8525 ROM there was a note about it only working with Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2003 with SP3 applied if I remeber right. You might check that recent patches have been applied to your Exchange server. Even though they may not upgrade to Exchange 2007, they would have to be nuts to not apply current patches. It could be the new recent build used in this ROM needs some patch applied to Exchange 2003.

You may have forgotten to format to fat32
*ONCE YOU HAVE FLASHED A HARDSPL ITS PERMANENT. YOU DONT NEED TO DO IT AGAIN WHEN FLASHING NEW ROMS OR RADIOS*
1. YOUR DEVICE MUST HAVE AT LEAST 50% BATTERY POWER FIRST BEFORE ATTEMPTING EACH STAGE

2. FLASH HARDSPL

Flashing via ActiveSync with USB Lead (thanks to OliNex (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=948514))
1. Download Hard-SPL package (http://www.4shared.com/file/72285356/10946f94/Raphael_HardSPL.html) and unzip it to your Hard Drive. Make sure it's launched from a local drive (not through network drive, etc.)
2. Your Phone MUST be Synced with PC in Windows Mobile!
3. Run RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3.exe,
4. Follow steps in the RUU (Rom Update Utility), check device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.
5. It should go to a black screen now.
6. SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
7. To confirm you installed it correctly, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 1.90.OliNex.

**To enter Bootloader and check HardSPL version; with the device turned on, press and hold the volume down button, then press the reset button with the stylus. Release the volume down button when bootloader tricolour screen appears**

NOTE 1: You will not see the SPL version during normal boot, that is the OS version, not SPL!

NOTE 2: Anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe from the download to the device and run it. Once the screen is black, run RUU manually from the PC.

NOTE 3: This is an unsigned Hard-SPL. no limitations on flashing ROMs or radio packages. Also, this has overwrite protection, if someone needs to revert to stock SPL for warranty reasons, go *HERE* (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410150)

NOTE 4: DO NOT use this RUU for anything other than SPL flashing (i.e. hardspl or stock spl restore)!!! If you want to flash some other rom, then use customruu from *HERE* (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410761)

4. DOWNLOAD AND FLASH YOUR PREFERED ROM.

Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 using a PC (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do).
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Raphael Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your computer.
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to RAPHIMG.nbh
4. Copy the RAPHIMG.nbh file to the root of your microSD Card.
5. Plug the microSD Card into the phone.
6. Press and hold the volume down button, then press the reset button with the stylus. Release the volume down button when bootloader tricolour screen appears.
7. Follow the onscreen instructions to start flashing.
8. Once phone finishes flashing and gets to the screen where it configures the stylus, HARD RESET
(hold the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER (center) Buttons, press the RESET button with the stylus tip, then release the RESET button but continue to hold the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons until the reset screen appears)
9. Follow onscreen instructions to set up your New Rom.

I was able to use an XP machine to run the update from ATT Stock to v3.2, but wasn't sure if I was missing something when trying to update from SD. Any feedback/pointers?

Thanks.
I have had 0 problems flashing in vista with the raphaelwrapper, probably flashed 30 times in the 5 days ive had this thing :)

Anyone else seeing an error with Diamond TF3D in NATF's Standard v4.0? I just flashed and I get an error that says "an unexpected error has occurred in Diamond TF3D Config.exe". I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, soft resetting, and combinations of soft-resets and installing. Keep getting the same error. If I check the details there is something about "NullReferenceException". Not sure what any of this means. It worked with Standard v3.2.

i like how IE is rendering the pages now. I don't like how hard it is to zoom in. would be nice if we could use the thumb circle. It also seems that when i select to zoom out i then have the zoom in feature. But the zoom in only goes to a certain point not nearly enough. I can read everything but it's hard.

I have installed this ROM and so far everything working perfectly. Mobile Shell reinstalled perfectly (eliminating the need to use the sucky TF3D in any way) and everything else being reinstalled. I am receiving emails, but unable to send out, which must be a setting error I made and not due to the ROM.

So far so good!

Yeah, I saw that. It crashes for me too.

NATF: I don't know why the ROM wasn't snappy for me out of the box. Could be a disagreement with something in device ... don't know. Like I said, it worked better once I ran advanced config and reimported my config xml file.

I ran into something else with the weather DB editor and weather app. Weather DB editor wouldn't take another entry unless I exited the app and came back in. Sometimes, it'd take a few times for it to actually add the entry to the DB, even though I did it the same way every time. Also, when trying to add a city in the main weather app, it wouldn't jump correctly for reason in Germany if I tapped on a letter (M in particular ... was trying to add Munich). I had a big M stuck in the middle of the screen and it stayed at the beginning of the city list. US, Canadian and Korean cities were fine though.

As far as Exchange goes, like I said, I haven't been able to sync with it. It looks like I have to make some changes to my server since I require SSL and Exchange Mobile doesn't like that. Haven't had time to do that yet, so I'll do that in the next day or so. Running Exchange 2003.

When it wouldn't download for me before, I would make sure the screen was always on, so disable any backlight timers or anything that would cause the screen to go off before it downloads and see it that works. Remember TF3D still has to be disabled with this.

Weather Editor has had that issue for me over several different ROMS.

Exchange 2003 is working fine for me as well, also using SSL. It's rare for me to have an issue with Exchange after working out the initial bugs with the security certificate and general Exchange settings.

One issue I am experiencing is that it's starting to lock up on me every now and again. It won't even respond to the power button, only soft-reset. It was also happening with 3.2 and at first I wrote it off to Live Search, but it doesn't seem to be related. I use QuickMenu and WKTask. I've done a few minor tweaks with Advanced Config, like disabling the phone skin.

Flipping up the screen for the keyboard is much zippier than it was, but sometimes that also freezes the phone up for a bit nwow.

What should i do? I am considering just going back to 3.2 Standard, is that possible? On that everything was working just fine.

I just flashed 4.0 from 2.3. I have no issues syncing with Exchange 2003 SP2 (latest version of 2003) OTA or via USB.

<snip>
</snip>

I can't remember if I explained this nuance about PIMBackup in this thread or another one. PIMBackup uses a rather sloppy faked "activesync" connection with POutlook to backup and restore data. It leaves POutlook to reindex and rethread EVERYTHING imported from scratch. After restoring data, allow the device to sit idle for up to 5 minutes without opening a POutlook folder. Then turn off and turn on the device. It should then be ready for use and everything should be as it was. Interrupting the reindexing process in POutlook usually results in it jumbling messages around because it is attempting to display and index at the same time...M$ doesn't seem to have planned for such an event! Reimport with the option to clear existing enabled and it will rebuild everything for you after clearing out the garbage.

----------

I'm going to download v4 now. I've been sick, so I won't get to install it until tomorrow. I hope I don't become doubly plagued when I do. ;) lol

have you tried manual?

NOTE 2: anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe from second attachment to the device and run it. then once the screen is black, run RUU manually. i.e. you run the RUU on the PC, if it isn't obvious.

another thing it could be is that you are on a domain with folder redirection. I know it wants to be on a local drive. with folder redirection and offline files your desktop, docs are not really local. they are a redirection to a user folder on the server. just wanted to throw that out.

NATF,

I noticed a weird problem with the volume. If I hit VolUp or VolDown button the volume screen comes up and it shows the volume changing for the "RING" not SYSTEM. So I switch to SYSTEM, change the volume but it does not seem to affect the volume at all. Also, I use the SOUND shortcut from TF3D (see attached) and it's set to "NORMAL" but the volume is at 0%. I tried changing it to Vibrate, Silent and back to Normal but it does not affect the Volume% itself.

Also, not sure if this is an issue or not, but when I go to System -> Settings -> Device Info, I get the following attached screen... is this normal?

I hard reset the device this morning so this is just 4.0 without any changes/etc to the ROM.

WiFi will not run if a USB cable is connected. As for freezing up, a very small number of people have reported it, so I would have to assume it's caused by a program you loaded... possibly a version that doesn't play nice with this new OS.

V3.2 was excellent. V4 was just a great. So far no issues. Thanks NATF!

Yes, there are sound related issues, currently, it is believed that these issue are within the OS build used. It is being investigated, and a fix is hopefully forthcoming.

Also, search the thread before you post. (Albeit the ext rom is not something posted before). A simple search in this thread for "v4 sound" returned several items already covering this issue.

I started using RaphaelWrapper with v4.0 because crappy AV products (read: everything but Eset's NOD32 ;)) detect CustomRUU.exe as a trojan, and won't allow it to be extracted from the RAR.

Don't worry about flashing through Vista... HTC updates their RUU with each new device, and the Raphael's CustomRUU runs fine in Vista.

It's the latest version, 8.3.2.64873. I know they made a lot of changes from the 8.0 series (e.g., changed from Telenav to Navteq maps, etc.).

I've since downloaded another ROM (name withheld . . . ha. ha.) and iGO8 is working again, so it is not solely a software issue.

Anyone else experience this? Any settings I should change?

Thanks, NATF, for the great work. Yours is always my preferred ROM. Newbie here, but impressed by your work.

That same version of iGO works for me in NATF 2.3 but I did have to put a couple lines into my SYS.TXT to get it to work. Until then I had the same problem you did. I haven't tried NATF v4 yet, but my SYS.TXT is attached for your reference.

Apologies in advance for any newbie questions here. I'm having an issue with the v4 ROM and MediaNET. As of 7 this morning (upgraded from 3.2 yesterday afternoon) Active Sync was "Waiting for network." I did a hard reset and now the id, password and domain settings for MediaNET are blank. Any ideas? I'm in the NY area.
Connecting to my laptop resolved the issue.

I think that's exactly what it is. My company hasn't even updated our PCs to XP SP3 due to some compatibility issues, so I'm sure they haven't updated Exchange to SP3 for similar reasons. Well, I guess I'm stuck with 20xxx based ROM builds for now. :(

There is no SP3 for Exchange. The latest Exchange SP was SP2 released in Oct 2005.

My company is running 2003 SP2 and I can connect with no issues. Does your Exchange server use SSL? Try going to the URL in your browser and checking the certificate. Does the cert come up as completely valid? Who is the signing authority? What is the signature algorithm?

The server does in fact use SSL. SuperGuy said his wasn't working either, and his server also uses SSL. Perhaps that's the issue? Activesync never gets to the prompt from my server telling me it needs to enforce Security policies on my device. Are you suggesting I check the server URL? That'll just take me to Outlook Web Access.

It is probably something to do with the version of TF3D Config you are using. Someone posted a different version shortly after NATF posted the comment for V4 being up.

wanted to see if anybody is have this issue:

i saw there was a delays in previous v's but it went away, for me at least, in v3.2. Whenever i answer the BT headset there is a long delay before i here audio in it (2-4 seconds) in v4. I even see that it is on the handset for a second before i even see it connect icon. v3.2 had zero delay if any 500ms. Using JawBone 2 Noise Assin.

My server is also using SSL, so it is not SSL specifically. While you'll see the OWA interface from your desktop browser you'll be on the same server so you can check the certificate.

Also, you can try going to OMA on your phone browser if you navigate to https://your.server.name/oma.

Or perhaps you missed this :)

To which Captain_Throwback responded:

So yes, Captain_Throwback says XP SP3, but he is directly referencing the post by dlweston who states Exch 2003 SP3.

They do stay through a soft reset so long as I dont go back into sounds and notifications, if i go back it goes to what it was before.

Here's some links on how to fix it.

http://www.amset.info/exchange/mobile-85010014.asp
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=817379
http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=146952

Of course, be sure you work in your company's IT department and/or have permission to do this, or do it on your own personal server.

In its infinte wisdom, Outlook Mobile has issues if SSL is required for connection and forms based authentication (i.e. web page) is used. One of the pages explains that Activesync makes some internal calls that SSL supposedly screws up.

The last link discusses that the connection needs to be created on the PDA itself.

Generally, the fix involves either using a front end server to connect or having to redo the website in IIS and modifying the registry. It doesn't look fun and looks a bit time consuming. I'll have some time tonight to try it.

I haven't tried any of these, so if anyone is able to do it before I get a chance to, please report your experience!

On another note, don't know if it's been reported or not, but alarms were having issues this morning. I would try to turn it on with the time and date set, but when I hit ok, it wouldn't actually turn on the alarm despite it being checked. Soft reset took care of it.

Just FYI,

I use Zimbra hosted by 01.com. They (Zimbra) support (reverse engineered) activesync with their service.

My Activesync/"Exchange" syncing is working beautifully.
I say this because I know that their version of activesync is based off of Exchange 2003, not sure which SP if any...

As a plug for their service. $50/year/user covers service with full Windows Mobile, Outlook, and Web Access with 2GB of storage.

I bought my Fuze on Dec.03 and last week the power button stop working so i called CS they transfered me to warranty... there they asked for my IMEI and told me that the phone was actually purchased on Nov.13 and returned to the store on Nov.25 i was like ...WHAT... the "brand new" phone that i paid for $$$541.88 is really a used phone.... of course i got upset and told them i wanted my money back, even mentioned class action lawsuit and so on.... they said warranty only sends out "refurbished" phones, but because of my unique case they got a manager from CS and after about an 30mins on hold they said to fax them the receipt and i would get a "brand new full kit att Fuze" in two days.... I'm waiting for it so i'll let you guys know what happen... but my point is... If you have any doubts about your phone being new or not just call warranty and have them run the IMEI and they can tell you your phone's history....

Before mentioning the glitches, I want to say thank you again.

My data connection can't decide whether it exists or not after flashing v4. Sometimes it exists, sometimes it doesn't. Whether or not my data connection works seems to be independent of it's existence. I tried installing/uninstalling various things to isolate the cause of the change, but the change always seemed to happen when I wasn't doing anything at all.

Also, my outgoing email sometimes works and sometimes does not (it is a regular old POP3 email account).

Are we talking about Windows 2003 Server SP3 or Exchange 2003 Server SP3? Either ways, there are no SP3 for both windows 2003 server or exchange server 2003.

So, it's been two months, and I've posted this before... does everyone STILL not know how the heck to SUCCESSFULLY force Opera to view the non-mobile versions of websites? How hard can this be? Maybe everyone else is in the know but me... link me to the instructions please. I've seen plenty of opera:config solutions that didn't do squat for the Fuze.

Thanks.

As with everyone else, thanks for the ROM.

I'm now running 4.0 and the only strangeness I have is that I run PhotoContractsPro which has a today plugin that sits at the middle bottom and when you press it it pops up a window (not full screen) that allows you to switch profiles. This worked with 2.3 but now I can see the window pop up but then TouchFlo forces it's way back to the top and covers it.

Any ideas?

Same here, I have no issues pulling up non mobile sites using Opera.

kennyb123 I know that some sites will actually sense a mobile browser and forward you to their mobile site. Engadget does this for sure, it does provide a link at the bottom of the page for the Full version.

What are some of the sites that Opera can't display in "full" mode?

I'm having a weird soft-reset issue. Whenever I have Windows Media Player playing songs, If I do anything with the volume control buttons or click on the volume icon in the top bar,,, my phone soft resets. I did hard reset after burn and it still happens. Anyone else having this problem??? I think it happens when I have my volume turned all the way up.

I am having this problem as well. Have a stereo bluetooth headset and 4 out of 5 times when playing in media player i get a soft reset. Very frustrating as I use my Fuze mostly for music.

Also, you can try going to OMA on your phone browser if you navigate to https://your.server.name/oma.

How do I check the certificate? I can access OWA from Opera on the Fuze, and it works fine. OMA isn't set up for my Exchange Server. And since I don't work in my company's IT dept, I can't follow any of the recommendations that SuperGuy posted. It seems that there's no solution.

EDIT: I've also tried connecting my phone to my work computer directly after a hard reset, and just trying to Activesync to my local computer's Outlook, and I get a 80070008 error message. Maybe I need a newer version of Activesync? I'm using 4.5 Build 5096. I'll check on the M$ page and see if they have a more recent build, but I'm just grasping at straws at this point.

Actually, my "Contacts" soft key is working on and off. When I press it, the phone acts like its going into the Contacts screen (I see the window title appear briefly) but then it takes me right back to the Home screen. I haven't installed anything on the phone. This also happens when I press the "All People" button from the "People" TF3D tab. I think a soft reset will fix it, but I could see the same issue happening with the Calendar soft key.

The particular "calendar" softkey problem was related to installing a theme + missing upgraded manila files. Your contacts screen problem is something else. I don't see anyone else having that problem (unless I just missed a post). But the calendar problem I experienced when I was on v3.2 and installed HERG's older theme. I then upgraded the manila files and the issue was gone.

Upon further research I found this link regarding outgoing mail problems:

Click this messy link (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=d9d71b2e-d2dd-44f2-86e5-1e53aad7fb7a&displaylang=en&tm)

When I attempted to install the update, it said my version of Windows Mobile is incompatible :(

Would this problem be fixed in this ROM automatically or do I need to revert to some old crappy WM version to apply this patch if I want to ever send email again?
