me friend had a program on his phone if some unknown caller called him he can look it up and find out called him need cab.

That would have been an excellent software for my Kaiser, just what I need but never hear of it.:(

Sorry .... it's not the phone the withholds the CLI but the network (I use to be a databuild engineer) so this is impossible on the phone side.
The HLR profile CAN be set to override and demand the numbers sent to the phone ... SOCLIP need to be set to 1 I think... or was it SOCLIR on a E/// HLR, but the user won't be able to set it.....
I have mine set and caught a few bogus callers out who phone me at 3am.:D

i'm sorry, but this sounds interesting, and unfortunately i don't understand what you mean. care to explain in slightly less technical terms?

If you work for the mobile phone company that your phones on you can set a parameter on the Home Location Register (HLR) computer that holds your profile that will 'force' the network to send the number (CLI) to your phone even if it's 'withheld'.:D
The general public won't be able to do this on their mobile ... ever. sorry.
