January 11, Sorry the theme got deleted. I am#$%^& mad

I am upset about it. I do not know if I will get over it. Promoting human rights in themes is apparently not allowed here. Aparently all that is allowed are themes that make you happy.

I have spent many hours making themes, answering questions, finding solutions to problems that people have with their HTCs. Did I mention that I am pissed right now?

I say yes to that as well. I say yes to creativity.


....But now this thread will get shut down becasue we have each promoted a cause. Too bad. Only sunshine and sugar is accepted here on the forum.

I thought it would be a cool idea to promote a cause with themes.

like I may want a fight breast cancer theme

or testicular cancer,

Or alcoholism theme

Anyway-you get the idea. So I welcome the theme you mention. It would be great to see a cause promotion area of this forum. I change my themes every day based on how I feel. I would probably never use your Israeli theme-but then you wouldn't use mine. So it promotes thought-it is a new idea apparently. And it takes a hella long time to make a damn theme.

I read AllTheWay's warning as action against the political debating of dcdivenut, al3azim, and yourself... lubbad85, unfortunately you got suckered into rebutting upon dcdivenut for his political angst to your theme. You erred doing what your second post requested all not to.

AllTheWay's moderation could have been perfect for XDA's mission -- post themes but leave debating upon political content to other sites. Members here should know that and refrain from such pubic, off-mission tangents whenever they see content that gives political motivation to respond.

Well, it's me you should be mad at. I didn't delete it but moved it to a Mods only area so it could be considered.

I'm afraid it was late here and I didn't send you a PM to explain this - and for that I apologise.

My opinion for what it's worth, is that we cannot allow that thread with your pro-Palestinian theme. It does not matter whether we support you politically, or not, what we know is that such a "politically charged" thread will lead VERY QUICKLY to arguments and flaming. At the point I moved the thread, that's exactly what was happening.

My attention was drawn to the thread by members reporting it. I should say that the folk reporting it were not doing so because they took an opposite view politically to you, but because there is a rule here at XDA-Dev, that political content is not permitted.

I respect your intentions with the theme, but XDA-Dev is not a suitable venue to express your views. There are many other places to do that. We cannot make a case that your thread was just another theme thread and arguments about the content of the thread had already started (as indeed we could all have predicted, if we're being honest).

It's worth remembering that members here don't like this kind of thread, not because they disagree with your political point of view, but because this is not the place to spark off political controversy.
