Does this work OUTSIDE of TouchFLO? That is, since it is in the section called "HTC TouchFLO", I assume this only affects within TouchFLO interface?

How about the rest of the WinMO interface, like pressing the Start button? Is that affected too?

Don't try this on a Touch Pro (Fuze). It will make your screen lose all sensitivity, and you will have to use Total Commander to reset the registry values using the keyboard. Sergio PC does say that the changes work only with the Diamond, but stupid me skipped over that line and tried it anyway.

ok - i'm a lil hesitant right now, since the current value for PressureThreshold is set something like 39, and you're proposing to make it 80866 - huge difference! then again - am i checking the right value :S using total comm

You're very excited... haha before changing the sensitivity I wanted to give it a try and all the !!! have me taken back. Going to just make the plunge but seeing as how I was going to use the .cab file I'm not sure how I'd undo the settings if I don't like them.

Edit: Ok I think the new settings work. I'm not good at telling this sort of things and I'm used to pushing hard. Real test will be to see if iFonz stacks up to the capacitive screen comparison.

Can anyone tell me where to make changes for a Touch, not the Touch pro or Diamond or HD just a plain Touch from Sprint. I tried changing the values you mentioned here and no matter which way I go nor how far I change them nothing changes the sensitivity of my screen. Is there something else that I need to do to get my sensitivity up. I am tired of having to press hard on my screen to get anything to work. TIA

Personally, I use a Pressure Threshold of 34, and a Finger Pressure of 17, which I find perfect...

I guess in the greater scheme of things 17 is pretty close to 1, but 34 compared to 80000 or so is completely different...! honestly though, I tried the change and didn't notice too much (I thought it was a little worse) so really, the question is: "what on earth does Pressure Threshold change...??"

Just for record, the default settings on my Touch Diamond with Dutty's v3.6b ROM are:

HKLM/Drivers/TouchPanel
PressureThreshold = 49 (decimal)

HKLM/Software/OEM/TFLOSettings
FingerPressure = 17 (decimal)

Actually I'm not 100% sure if FingerPressure = 17 (decimal) is the default value, can someone verify that for me?

this is not going to give u a huge change!!! rather its going to make touch easier!!

the difference is small that an average person cant feel it, say if u were applying 1N force/sq. in now u only have to apply 0.5 N force/sq in!!

the first value is small to begin with hence the change is in your eys unnoticable !!!

i hope this explain evrything!!

yes i have exprinced this problum as well.... and i know y!!

the thing is that when u use ADV CONFIG..... it does not save the setting properly... i mean when u soft rest the values change to either default or 0!!!!

the only solution ive cumup wid is after using ADV CONFIG...softrest and install cab again!!! then even if u reset the values stay at 80866 ...... untill u open and change the values in ADV CONFG again!!!!

ive had a lot of tweaks vanish after using ADV CONFIG.... thats y i use ADV CONFIG only when i really need it!!!

SO WHAT I WOULD SUGGEST TO USE THE CAB INSTEAD OF ADV CONFIG FOR THIS TWEAK!!

Ok, there is actually NO default settings/values. Whenever you do the screen alignment, it will automatically re-adjust both values according to how you press on the screen.

If you want to go back to default settings, just perform a screen alignment.

Actually, the default setting depends on the pressures you put while performing the screen alaignment.

For the Diamond, you can access the screen alignment by pressing Volume up while holding the Action button.

I'm trying this out. Rebooting....

and... well, not sure... if there is a difference it's hard to tell... The main thing I am looking for is typing q, a, and z... and pressing start and x/ok. Those all seem to be slightly improved, or it is my imagination.

Either way, this didn't hurt anything, and it didn't hack my device or anything.

Using the new setting (made via reg edit not through CAB file) on 2.03.401.2 WWE ROM. I can say it's working and the value is preserved even after softreset. Though, there is not so much improvement over the old settings I used (39 before). Slight better touch response and seems like I don't have to press the stylus so hard, but not a radical difference. Maybe the ones using old stock or cooked ROM's will find this more appealing. Since is still an improvement, I'll keep the setting

Works great on my Fuze...
WORD OF WARNING

When entering the decimal value, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT put in a freakin' decimal (.80866)...this will render the screen as useless...thankfully, there's a handy keyboard that got me through my schcrew up and I was able to download the .cab file.

You know what, just forget about tinkering with regedit and just download the money cab.

Well of course! Because "decimal" when you talk about registry mean you are entering normal digits, where "dword" means you are entering hex value...

This is kind of 101 of registry editing... You don't take the "decimal" literally, as in mathematics....

You know what, just forget about tinkering with regedit and just download the money cab.

If i changed the touch sensitivity to 500000 will this affect battery life? I love that my screen is this sensitive, a little similar to capacitive like the iphone. (and I made the touch flo 100000)

Certainly not capacitive but a major improvement especially considering how unresponsive this particular screen is.

I am using an omnia with a custom M2d rom IA2.
I always wondered about a tweak for needing less pressure and thought this was exactly it. I guess it still is, but I its not working properly. I installed the enhanced cab, and while it seems like the pressure sensitivity increased for other things, like s2u2, it was only slightly. However, my touchflo seems to need more pressure now - kinda sucks. I don't know, maybe its just me. Is there a way to manually do this on the phm registry? There is:
HKEY - Classes_ROOT
HKEY - CURRENT_USER
HKEY - LOCAL - MACHINE
HKEY - USERS

I'd like to check the values, but I can't seem to file the exact location. Any advice.

It turns out I do have the key HKLM/Software/OEM/TFLOSettings/FingerPressure, but really no HKLM/Drivers/TouchPanel.
Still, I have applied the CAB and there seems to be a slight improvement, though I tend to think it's more a question of hitting the right spot than of hitting with the right pressure.;)

Hey, thanks for trying to help.
However, the HKEY - LOCAL - MACHINE\Software/OEM/TFLOSettings string and the HKEY - LOCAL - MACHINE/Drivers/TouchPanel and this will have "PressureThreshold" does not exist on the omnia. Perhaps this is because these are HTC specific? I know that I have an M2D rom, but the OP says that it should work on any WM 6 and 6.1 device. I guess it might only work on HTC devices.

Over at modaco we found something that seemed like it would imitate what pressureThreshold and fingerpressure does for the HTC devices in:
H K E Y _ L O C A L _ M A C H I N E \ \ H A R D W A R E \ D E V I C E M A P \ T O U C H ] " C l i c k " = d w o r d

and

H K E Y _ L O C A L _ M A C H I N E \ \ H A R D W A R E \ D E V I C E M A P \ T O U C H ]

" D o w n U p " = d w o r d

However, there is speculation as to what this really does. We are kind of certain that it effects sensitivity somehow, but maybe not pressure sensitivity. I was hoping that your cab would help in that instance.

hi azharsunny!

i uninstalled the previous version and installes itouch version
i've noticed that it sets finger pressure and pressure threshold to -1 (checked with advanced config)

it looks somehow strange to me, as long as for enhanced sensitivity version you set these values to 8066 wich is a positive number and now you set them to a negative number

on the other hand i can't notice any improvement, even if i use your cabs (, normal, enhanced or itouch) or if i use none of them and just manualy set those 2 values on "normal" with advanced config

i use a Touch HD (Blackstone)

am i missing something?

thank you!

yes in advance config the value shoes up as -1, but if u use a REG program to check the values at the strig they do show up as positive and the value is FFFFFFFF in hex format.........

the ipmrovement is ever so slightly but never the less its present.... that said iTouch is the max possible value that u can have for ur device thats y i made a new cab to sue the full potential of the device.... so no ur missing nething it jus how it is!!

This app made no diff to my TP that I could see or experience - mayb it da ROM I'm using or incorrect memory usage - I don't know. I have so many apps running that maybe I should remove some and try again.

Just read this and thought I might install on my Sprint Touch Pro....sounds like it might not function properly on there though....anyone else had it work or not work on their Touch Pro??

Thanks!

Wait more time before you reset, it takes time for it to stick.

For anyone wanting to play around with these values, I've written a simple configuration utility in MortScript (which you MUST have installed).

Default values are those of a Touch HD, you may need to change them in TouchResponse.mscr on the Windows folder if you have other device. I have no idea what are the default values for other devices, maybe some users can post theirs here.

I had quite a few problems with this mod on my Touch Pro

1. Battery consumption is horrible. I cannot last 1 day with this mod. Since reverting, battery life is back to normal (~70%) at end of day

2. The phone hangs very frequently and needs to be soft-reset.

Have reverted to 240 for both settings and work pretty okay for me.

and btw there are no default settings .... to make it ur device default just do a screen alignment and the values will be adjusted back to normal!!

I installed the CAB file on my Fuze and I didn't notice any difference. Why are the two registry values changed to FFFFFFFF? I saw another person recommending that the values both be set to "1" for maximum sensitivity. Either way, my sensitivity still sucks.

I'm not sure if it actually made a difference, but I installed it and everything still works. So add the Wing to your list, and I think it did make it more touch sensitive.

Hey Azhar,

You seem to be an expert on all things related to the touch screen. I have a raphael from Tmobile UK. I have no warranty, as I am not in UK.

Basically my phone didnt go through screen alignment, it was stuck there making me do alignments n number of times.
I tried flashing to different ROMS and such and no effect yet, until I started this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506971
Now I can boot up normally, but the alignment is all messed up and pretty random, I cant basically use the touch screen and raphael doesnt have many hard keys to be proud of.

Hence I cant install cabs, cant do anything much, please help with a solution. I need to solve the basic reason for this issue. It could be due to me installing WM6.5 with different sensitivity settings etc, which the hardware is not capable of. How can I erase every damn thing and reflash a ROM.

I have no option but you guys help, else good money and a good phone goes down the drain.

same question HERE!

Just installed i_touch on my 6.5 rom and everything seem to work fine...:D

I heard that the diamond2 has increased sensitivity with a resistive screen. Do you think that HTC has applied the same tweaks here or has come up with a different approach?

Can you please let me know where this program is once it is downloaded.
Thanks.

There is no such configuration menu. There is also no icon. You just install it and that's all. It only changes the registry key values.

My Diamond had a pretty sensitive screen prior to downloading this program. I just got a replacement Diamond with the 2.00 version of the stock ROM which HTC may have tweaked regarding screen sensitivity.
I have not noticed a difference in the sensitivity which may be because I am using a Zagg shield but I thank you for your hard work as I am sure it has made a difference for many people with Diamonds and other devices.
