I have a Rogers HTC Touch Elfin. I've now purchased two different back covers that have the hump to accomodate higher capacity batteries. In both cases the covers were a few milimeters too tall and also would not snap into place correctly. Is the Rogers Elfin a completely custom case because it seems odd two aftermarket back covers specifically made for the Elfin would be too big and not fit. Yes I know there is a higher capacity battery available that is the same depth as the stock battery, but someone gave me the thicker battery as a gift and I'd like to use it. Has anyone found a humped back cover that specifically fits the Rogers HTC Touch Elfin? Thanks.

Sorry that I can't help you - I have not tried using extended battery or cover yet on my elfin; however, because of your post, I know that I will not be getting that one. Too bad about your problem though. you might want to make sure that the covers you have purchased are in fact for the elfin and not for the vogue - some companies might be selling them all together but the vogue is slightly thicker I have noticed. Go to a Rogers Store and see if they have any extended covers there for your device. You may need to avoid the aftermarket parts completely.

The cover that came in the same package as the extended battery was manufactured to fit the CDMA Elf/Elfin. The replacement cover I ordered was advertised as designed to fit the GSM Elf/Elfin (which in theory is the correct one). The reason for my wondering if the Rogers Touch was somehow a custom job was that the GSM cover I bought is definitely different than the CDMA cover I originally received. The plastic tabs on the inside of the cover for the CDMA version mostly did not line up properly with the indentations of my phone so it really wouldn't go on at all. With the GSM cover I ordered the tabs mostly line up, but not quite so it looks like it's mostly correct. In both cases, though, the covers are about 2mm too tall. I have checked with the Rogers store, they do not sell anything other than replacement batteries.

I have not heard of CDMA Elfin - Only GSM Elfin - CDMA version of the touch is the "Vogue" There could even be a difference in size etc.. between the Elf and Elfin which are also different hardware wise. Maybe you have the Elf and are trying to put Elfin cover on or maybe you were given Elf cover for Elfin phone?

I only know what the ads said, and I have no Elf to test against (yes, I have an Elfin). My best guess would be I was given Elf covers and there is a size difference between Elf and Elfin. But I can say for sure that the clips that secure the cover in place are different for the CDMA and GSM versions now that I'm in posession of both types of covers.
