So this is real... I dont know, u tell me. It's a article about Plam Pre VS iPhone VS G1 and all the advantages are for iPhone and Palm Pre. There are nothing for the G1.

Edit: I got some actual hands-on time (http://phodroid.com/gmqrn3) with Palm Pre at CES (which is more than can be said for most folk) and while the sauce is fancy, it remains to be seen how productive all that eye-candy is after you've had the phone for two, three months. I was a die-hard Palm fan all the way up to 2001, and I can tell you with complete honesty that they've moved away from functionality toward gloss. Makes sense since apparently Ed Colligan got the guy who designed the iPhone interface to help with Pre.

afaik g1 has full multiitasking support so why not a tie with the pre, g1 has a great qwerty kb, i pefer functionality over sexiness...

All I know is that if I had an iPhone or a Pre I would not be having as much fun as I am with my G1. Most of my friends have gayPhones and Blueberries and I have gotten at least 2 of them on the G1 bandwagon and they are stoked, not only by the phone itself, but by this community and the raw potential of this phone.

I have an iphone. That is nothing compared to the g1. You can not multitask and typing messages is a joke.

Lol, I like how for removable battery he says the pree and the G1 both have them and then gives the advantage to the Pre arbitrarily and how he says every1 knows hard keyboards are better and then gives it to the iphone cause he likes soft keyboards

I love my G1 and would not trade it for an iphone or a pre. I've never had a device that I could incorperate so much of my day to day life into. Plus with the direction this community is going and growing is amazing. Every is nice and helps out the newbies (me included) who have never used linux before. I dont see that with the iphone, just pretentious snobs thinking they are better than everyone else.

Ive had a iphone for about 3 weeks now, my first pda was a 8125, then a 8525, and then a tilt...I had the fuze for about 2weeks then I returned it because I couldnt stand the small screen...Let me tell you, the iphone is no pda, but a jailbroken iphone with the right applications is a nice nifty device. I can text/email in landscape mode with cool features such as quick reply and such. I can send/receive MMS's that look 10x better then any phone ive ever owned. I can run apps in the background very smoothly, basically too much stuff to list, I enjoy the phone and the multimedia options available to me. Sure, I miss the pda life, but the pda is no iphone, and the iphone is no pda. They have have their pros and cons..the p2p file sharing programs on the iphone are second to none, its like having bearshare/limewire on steroids with one touch of a button.

As jashsu said, the Gizmodo staff is like 90% Apple fanboy, so this comes as no surprise. They (Jesus Diaz in particular) have been ripping on Android/the G1 ever since the first prototypes and screenshots etc leaked out. Matt Buchanan is probably the only level headed Giz staffer in regards to reporting about Android/the G1.

That said, I still like Giz, I enjoy reading most of their articles.
