Help Nintendo DS is in CHINESE~!

Hello. I bought one overseas for my daughters birthday but it is in Chinese language. I am completely game console stupid.
Do you have an step by step instructions for Nintendo ds dummies, like me?:confused:

Did you get a chip for the DS as in R4, Simply M3, etc etc? In otherwords those things that allows you to download DS roms and play for free? If so, the answer would probably be that you maxed out the SD card through the chip which freaks out the card when it creates a file that is actually bigger than what it canhandle. otherwise, you got duped and probably a fake DS. try registering the DS online with the code behind it. if it doesn't work, it's fake.
