iGo works perfectly on mine, same with the enlarged menus which are great.

I also prefer the Raphael camera, the old autofocus one took forever to stabilize and take photos.

I love how the message menus text is smaller, can fit so much more text per screen!

I did however prefer the 4 icon menus...and the brightness setting is hard to find.

This is definitely a great rom, its a keeper :-)

Again, Your ROM is just great! Its fast and stable indeed! Some minor things which you have already addressed with the patches in post4!
I did install the QVGA fix for the pin, this solved it, however my taskmanager was gone after that, so I uninstalled it again.. I mean: How often do I need to enter my startup PIN, and yeah the buttons are a bit messed up, but it works...

One other question though, an option I dont understand:
In settings, there is a CarKit Mode option. There you can select "Launch NaviPanel" in Carkit mode. What is this, what does it do?

Normally yes, but you have to install by CAB. Search around for a good dialer and test. If I find it, I'll post in the Additional CABS & Fixes post.

after trying this rom, i'm sorry to tell you there is major problem that make me move to other directions:

camera does not have autofocus.
BT icons does not exist
battery drain very fast
and the most important bug is that after connected with a carkit, you can not make or receive calls because the audio is not working.

I hope you can improove those stuff to let me change my opinion.

I test almost 1 ROM every week so that I write my opinion in every developer.
OK now ...
- [SPEED] This is a VERY fast ROM. Too fast i can say. The scrolling of the M2D is awesome.
- [STABILITY] This is one of the most stable ROMs that i tested. Almost no crashes in all the applications / bluetooth / wifi / gsm-3g / gps. Note that I test the ROMs with the original HTC 1.59.42.15.
- [APPZ] The ROM comes with a lot of applications. Some of them: QuickGPS, Opera Browser, Messenger, YouTube (Working fine in this ROM!!!), Camera Album, HTC-Clean_RAM (Very useful for cleaning RAM), M2DC, PPCPimBackup, SynchroTime, FlashLight, AEWiFiTrigger (Fantastic to turn ON/OFF the WiFi).
- [APPZ+] My suggesion for application missing. psShutXP, Resco File Explorer (I think is the best solution for managing files),RHM RegEdit (We need a fast registry editor for all the reg tweaks), iContact (The most amasing contact manager ever made for PPCs), spb Backup (For taking backup of the device when we finish with all the installations), BlueToothTonggle (for turn ON/OFF the BT with pressing only a button). Of couse this is my opinion :)
- [SIGNAL] Very fast in registering the SIM to the Network. Tested with 3G and GSM. Accurancy to the signal level. Very nice work. The GPS (I tested with Nav-N-Go v.8.3.2.71348) is working like a charm.

- [ - ] Bad things about this ROM. I can say there are ONLY two bad things about this ROM. 1) The dialer. Sorry but the installed dialer is awful (and the simple and the 3g dialer). Instead I used the 3LIT3 3G Dialer (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=152527&d=1233479956) .
2) The battery drain. Yes is bad that you have to charge the device every day. BUT .... the ROM is fast .... and I think that the drain has to do with the speed the device has in applications and in menus (!)

First of all this is the fastest ROM I have ever used. It has anything I need preinstalled. Only one big issue: as some other colegues mentioned the battery drain is very fast. I am using the latest radio available. Are there any tweaks to stop this battery drain ?

LE: As I posted earlier on the thread there are some tweaks about saveing battery:

I think, the problem isn't with your polaris, but with this ROM. All we have problem with car audio if it connected through bluetooth. It isn't matter with this carkit or without carkit.
Something is wrong with the bluetooth connection. :( It was by the earlier version 3.0 too.

2) The file explorer EX isn't updating automatically when I remove or paste files. I have to close and reopen before I see the lasted files.

I found this rather strange because after I installed the ROM without videoCall, the Bluetooth icon came out fine when I turn it on. Seems like the BT icon doesn't want to come out in the ROM with VideoCall. Any idea?

I think the best Polaris ROM ever will be a mix of your fantastic inferface (icon set) & speed together with 3LIT3 VI Suite preformance & settings/fixes (as WM & AudioManager playing in stand-by mode).

unfortunately no change for me - still can make one call via bluetooth and then nothing but silence until I reset the bluetooth

One thing I did notice that may help is this - this time when I was testing I turned off the bluetooth device before resetting my polaris. On the Polaris the bluetooth headset icon was still on indicating that I have an active connection. This would seem to be where the issue lies - the connection is not dropping when the call ends.
I'm none the wiser on how to fix it but maybe someone else has a bright idea

I'm sorry. I tried it without SD card too, because when I'm using Total Commander (on PC) with wince plugin through ActiveSync I can accessing the internal storage too, not only the SD card memory. But this Disk Drive without SD card don't working...

Now my battery meter is at 70%. I see a big change, before in 24 hours the phone had no battery power remaining.

I had a small problem with Opera mini. It didn't keep me logged in on my accounts. For instance, here in xda I always had to relog. I fixed this by installing Opera mini again.

I am disappointed on how I can browse the web from my pda. The IE is sloooooow, it's unusable. The Opera Mobile is a little faster but still slow. Opera Mobile is pretty fast but also a little to limited. I expected when using Wifi at home with strong signal, to browse the net faster... Are there any other alternatives ? Skyfire is ok, but can't be used daily yet.

Sorry, but there isn't this option in the menu during a call. I have the videocall rom version.
My other problems:
-I've installed the last version of TomTom navigator (7.915.916), but Navi Panel buttons doesn't work, even if i install tom tom in main memory.
-No bluetooth icon
-I can't find HushSMS
-Some residual files from MissedCallReminder
-I can't update weather of an additional city (correctly showed in the list), neither modifing DNS (my carrier doesn't have problem to reach accuweather site) <---- solved in post #315

I´m using still version 3.0 but there is this quick battery drain problem too.
The first registry tweek was by me with the suggested value, so I don´t have to changing it.
But the second registry tweek is really working! Now the battery drain is again very slow. :)

I think you must flashing it, and trying! Because I think the bluetooth working with all headset, and the ROM is really very fast.

I think KhanX is better (epimazzo is always the best), as I wrote I'm a KhanX-fan. I don't know how builds epimazzo his ROMs, but something will not working sometimes by a new release, altough by the previous version was functional.
This Bluetooth-bug is the same. But it was earlier with another things too. Thus I must trying sometimes another ROM. Like udK, 3Lit3. Or I keep an earlier fully functional KhanX-ROM.
Finally I come back always to KhanX, if a new ROM is released. ;)

I'm flashed the new 3Lit3 full version ROM with included the Radio ROM version 1.65.30.09. But sorry, I don't like this 3Lit3 ROM... I would back again to khanX ROM. KhanX ROM flashing was successful, but I need an earlier Radio ROM, like 1.59.xx.xx.
But I cannot flashing it! I tried flashing an older udK ROM, and it was again successful. But after this I tried flashing another Radio 1.58.xx and it was again error!!!
I cannot anymore using another radio like this 1.65.30.09????!

Grrrrrrrrr!

I solved my problem: I flashed successful my first official ROM what with radio 1.58.21.23 is together. After this I can flashing again any Radio ROM, and again Khanx! :)

I just thought that I will NOT change my ROM anymore :-), since your 3.1 is PERFECT for me and never had any ROM before that satisfied my needs. I use to have more than 10 different models of HTC and no one had similar completed ROM like 3.1.

And I think that HTC's bigesst mistake is to put in the market uncompleted devices and for the "users only" this moment is crucial to step back from using WM.

Hello,I have problem with flashing new Radio.I want to try this radio Polaris Radio 1.64.06.04 with this ROM.
Because internet connection GPRS/EDGE is always disconnecting.
And connection to server using browser takes too much time too.

But problem is when I want to flash it,it skips bootloader screen and then there is gray screen with Loading... and it fails.
I flashed HardSPL again, but still the same.
Do you have similar problem???

So still the same error with Radio 1.65.30.09 .Bootloader screen only blink and there is gray screen with Loading... and nothing happens.

Solved I have to go manually to bootloader, using photo button and SR and then it works.

in Navia v3.1 there is a small problem with the pre-installed Opera Mini: cookies don't seem to be remembered between sessions, so I have to enter my login-details every time I visit sites/forums where I'm registered (like xda-developers).

Also, the keyboard doesn't appear when I use 'Enter Address' from the main menu.

Both issues were solved when I installed this Opera Mini (4.2.13337) to my storage card:

Also, if you read the first topic in this thread, you will read that 3.1 is not tested/compatible with the radio version 1.65.30.09 .. How to downgrade your radio is described in this topic as well.

LOL! Sounds funny what you guys like and dislike. brothers, can't really feed all desires..you all know that. :o Those icons are integrated directly in ROM. Try get original ones from a dump rom and install over windows root directory. Search in this Forum for start icons. There you'll find the ones I used also others. You'll know which files were changed. Get original and try over.

I've uninstalled 3D drivers, tests work now, S2P does not work, giving the error when it has no drivers,
the strange thing is with real football, before it was too laggy (no accelaration), now after installing and uninstalling it's kind as it waked up! LOL! it has 3D accelation now with the cab uninstalled.
I'll try later more 3D programs to test if this a S2P issue or not...

Edit:
It is not only the RealFootball that waked up (I get 25fps!! from 8 that i had before), it's the hole device! everything is faster for some reason!! Really guys try it (install and uninstall HTC-CA-Polaris-Drivers.cab), my device has never been so fast! lol

I just installed this ROM, great work, I’ll keep this one!

Nevertheless, I keep on having some issues with the power button:

1. I listen to music with a BT headset, but when I press the power button to put the device on hold, it stops the music (it does the same if I play music with no headset). I can then restart the music with my BT headset start/stop button, but it’s quite annoying. I’ve read your FAQ and the solution you provide is to install psShutXP. This is a handy tool, but I just want to put the device on hold before putting it in my pocket and I don’t want to fumble with menus to do it. I was doing it this way with my former ROM and it was working nicely. How could I simply set the power button to put the device on hold without stopping the music? In other word, is it possible to make the power button just a light switch ?

2. Another issue is that from time to time the device will not wake up. No button will switch it back on once it’s on hold. I can see the BT blue led, the orange led is blinking as well, but still, the device does not respond to any action. The only solution I have at this moment is to use the reset button that you can only access with the stylus. Any solution for this issue as well?

Again, I want to thank you for this great work and so far, these two issues are the only one I face with this excellent ROM.

Just wanted to say, great Rom.

(3) Adding new weather cities: Read this

Not sure if you know but the post about adding custom weather is not 100% for your Rom.

Here is my quick guide.

A. Use Google to search for city/town of your weather with string
"my town/city accuweather" without quote marks.

B. You should get a hit with the accuweather website, open in new tab, verify if it is your town/city.

C. Copy the URL into a blank notepad, here is my example

http://www.accuweather.com/world-forecast-hourly.asp?partner=netweather&traveler=0&locCode=EUR|BE|BE002|KRAAINEM&metric=1

D. Use Activesync/Windows Explorer to copy to a temp location on your PC the file from the HTC \Windows\HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml.

E. Remove read only attribute on the copied file using right click and unchecking "Read only"

F. Open the file in another instance of Notepad.

G. Goto the alphabetic name of your town/city.
H. Add a blank line and add the entry

<city name="my town/city name, 2 letter ISO country code" loca="code from the URL in the other notedpad" land="Name of your Country"/>

I. Save the file locally.

J. Copy to the SD card or Temp folder of your device the new file.

K. Use Resco Explorer or GS Finder to copy/paste your new file with the old one.

L. Goto the Weather tab and select "Menu", "Add location" look for your town/city, let it update.

M. If all steps done, your done.

Ok, I found a solution to this issue. This is most probably because of a restore I've done with SpriteBackup that my device started to become unstable. I just flashed the ROM from scratch again and installed all software I needed. Not a single reboot in one day. ROM 100% stable.

in manila 2d the weather tab pictures are slightly moved to the right. they are not exactly in the centre. Any fix?

I found a(nother?) weird thing in 3.1, which would be good to test in 3.2:


1. Have a sim installed with pincode on it
2. Start the phone as usual and enter the pin when required.
3. Wait until phone is completely up and running
4. Lock the phone by press/hold the red (hangup) button
5. Reset the phone with stylus in the reset button

Now, what happened to me was: The "Locked status" was kept for some strange reason: just before the "Enter Pin" screen showed up, i could see the "unlock" option for a split second.
Then, the PIN Screen comes up and you cannot see unlock anymore...
And, since its locked, you can't enter your pin, neither press any button.. so basically you're stuck...

I had to remove the SIMcard and then i was able to power on, unlock, turn power off, replace the sim, and start again... :confused:

Tried a few times... happened more than once

And... Im WAAAAIIITTTINNGGGGG FOR 3.2 !!!!! :D :D :D

The option is there under a different menu...i cant tell you where because i don´t use that rom but i remember when i tested it it was under a different menu.
Maybe in touch flo options.

I'm having a little bit wierd situation
It works perfectly at the beginning
But after I costumized some setting of M2D through M2DC, the internet tab doesnt work at all, both opera and youtube shortcut
But they worked normally through start menu shortcut
Does anybody have this issue? Please help

Regarding Gfxboost, I tested during Beta cycles but confess not have seen any such improvement. I decided not use. So, you better see yourself!;)

I am again having trouble with bluetooth carkit...
It connects correctly, and the carkit works perfect. But after i disconnect, I dont have sound on the phone, and the other party cant hear me. I keep seeing the headset in the menubar. If I then disable I still dont get sound... I have to soft reset the phone to get it back working.

When I push the button 3 to start the camera I have the following Error Message : "00CAMERA.012 - The file '00CAMERA' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persist, try reinstalling or restoring this file."

There is an 'OK' button, but I cannot click on it or touch it. So, once I'm here I'm stuck. I have no other way than resetting the PDA.

The camera is working by the way, because I can start it from the Camera Album application.

Does anybody have a clue how to fix this ? Am I the only one that has this issue ?

can you put a dialer there that has the function when the other party answers the call to briefly vibrate. i think the Touch 3G has it and it's pretty helpful!

yeah, but u can select multiple now by "click and drag" the mouse from the first message to the last message that u want to select... i am more happy with this way, coz this didnt work before, now it does =)

Yeah...I realized that Enry. Try change foldersview.exe for one of those found around specially in Hacking & developing forum. I tried with so many versions and the only one it works is the custom one.

I have the same problem but at first couldn't get a picture so I installed Radio ROM 1.59.44.02 & could get picture
the camera button still produces error above (only on taking pictures it seems to work fine for video)

To take picture I have to use the OK button in the to jog dial this seems to work fine

Nice and stable rom. i'm using radio 1.65.30.09 and is working well, I, tried to downgrade the radio as U suggest but i' receve error IU535, cannot understand how i can downgrade the radio. when I flash the complete rom no error happends.

Btw, before use this rom I tried the TranMinhMen PDAVIET 6.5 rom and camera I was wonder when the camera button with a first soft pressure the subject is focused and with a deep pressure is shooting. ( like a normal camera ).
Is possible to get this working with your rom?

I solved the problem "Camera buttons"
il file camera.lnk in folder windows->Appbuttons is not correct.
delete it and copy HTC_Camera.lnk from window folder
then go in setting->personal->button and assegnated to button3 HTC_Camera.lnk.

OR

Open camera.lnk with notepad, and HTC_camera copy the text in this in camera.lnk and save.

I haven't had enough time to fix latest bugs found on both Lite versions...:( I'm ending my actual project and have a lot to do to start a new job...beside keep my site up to dated together with family! Time management hasn't so easy these days!:p
The fact I do not have a device to test is a pain in the #$@#$ coz I can't see final results...before release....but Let's keep walking!:)
