This ROM can be dumped and recooked. Unlike many of the cooks, no RGU have been deleted. No DSM has been deleted. And most of all, the ROM has not been crippled against dumping by deleting IMGFS signatures. So feel free to dump and modify upto your taste. And share the knowledge with the community. We can improve more by sharing the knowledge than keeping it secret.

Known Bugs:

- Bluetooth may not work if Audio Kit is used during outcoming calls.
- Shortcut Icons (End and Call button) does not work. You can easily fix by Hbutton found on programs.
- Virtual Buttons does not provide you to enable or disable such feature

General Procedures: (Please Read before updating)

- Install RADIO 1.59.42.15 as recommended or any earlier versions.

- Remove SD card before update!

- Before asking, attention to details

- There is no Radio or extended rom... JUST OS!

- You MUST install HARD SPL before going over a custom ROM.

- Hard Reset your device after flash for better results.

Installation:

How to install a cooked ROM.

Put device in bootloader mode.
Run Polaris_CustomRUU.exe and good luck.

- High recommend to reflash an official rom before flash this one.
- If you change some thing, you have to wait for a minute before restarting to make sure the device get your changes.

- Last but not least....again, do not ask me why I did not put such app or why I chose this or that. If you feel like I am missing something cool or left an application behind...PM a message with such suggestions. No problem.

Q. How do I show album art for my songs in Audio Manager?

Q. In the Photos tab, photos can't be seen in full screen and Slideshow doesn't work.

A. Click on the "Album" soft key on the lower left, then select a folder and set it as your Favourite. Now when you go back to Manila you will see it working.


Q. The Alarm indicator on the Home tab says it is off even though I set the alarm.

A. If an alarm is coming up within 24 hours then it will show on the Home tab.


Q. During a reboot the, SIM's PIN code prompt closes after a few seconds, and then TouchFLO starts up.

A. This is a known issue with Manila 2D, not the ROM. You can access the PIN code again when you start up the dialer.

Q. How do I increase the ring volume?

A. Go to the registry, and find the following parameter: HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\AUDIOGAIN\EAC_GAIN_EMBEDDED. Change it to a value between 67 (default) and 77 (maximum recommended) and then reboot. Don't go so high that it blows out your speaker!


Q. How do I increase the in-call volume?

A. Go to the registry, and find the following parameter: \HKCU\ ControlPanel\ SoundCategories\ InCall\ AttenuationCategory. Change it to 0 (a value of 2 makes it quieter) and then reboot.

Landscape Mode

Q. I want to view Google Maps, Excel, etc. in Landscape view from my Manila 2D shortcut, but it won't let me because M2D is always in Portrait mode.

A. Here's a trick: Go to Settings->Buttons, assign Button 1 to Rotate Screen. So when you open your program from M2D, just hit the button to rotate. When you close the program, the device automatically shifts back to portrait mode as it returns to M2D

Additional CABS & Fixes

1. HTC Large Title Menu - Icon in settings\system is missed. So, as this feature is built in, you can't disable unless if you install this CAB. After, icon appear and you can enable/disable such feature.

2. Camera Update - Although this version is an old one 4.08. It gives you an option to have Autofocus back in case you don't like Raphael built in V3.1. So, install this cab and start talking pics as usual!

3. FixFontSize - As menu is bigger than usual for some users....instal this fix and get back the original size without enhancement. It's up to you! Softreset after or it won't work!

4. WMP & Audio Manager Fix - This CAB should fix AM issue when playing in standby mode or when device is off while playing music.

The application to change the system fonts is great, so is call firewall.

The Bluetooth toggle icon is awful! and some of them are just too dark to be visible.

Hi,
I need to be able to view(browse and write in hebrew language pages
when i tried using Opera in a previous ROM it did not worked well it shoed the hebrew in reverse and had problems with it.
I could not find anywhere within Opera settings an option to change langugage or change text direction.
Can you help me ? i dont want to be able to have to use only IE ROMs and in all Opera seems to be much better...

Haptic is annoying only if you really don't like. I understand. You can quickly turn it off or even have a better control from touchresponse. Wifi and Bean options are both accessible from Shap's tool menu. You can add or remove what you want. Think is simple.

What you mean "all the time"? Mine is ok. You mean while connecting to your corporate Exchange server? Please, clear little bit.

Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find ""Do not lock buttons" option anymore. When the screen is blank, only if I press the power button the phone wakes up. If I remeber well this option was in Settings\Lock. Could someone give me a hint ?

I did this action - it last until the next reboot ...... :-)
as for the hebrew issue - it works fine for SMS and Emails (out/ In ) I haven't try the internet - but I assume that Opra have some problems from time to time - you will need to take other Opra release if needed

To fix for good the Haptic feedback I downloaded the install cab from here g http://www.freewebs.com/l3v5y/Haptic%20Feedback.CAB (g http://www.freewebs.com/l3v5y/Haptic%20Feedback.CAB) , installed it and then removed id. Now I don't have it anymore.

Still, I didn't found yet the posiblilyty to not lock all the buttons when stand by. It's reallllly anoying to press the Power button to wake up the device. From the 4 themes included, only 2 of them I could add to the M2DC. The other said something with not existing some xml file. And the last thing, sometimes I get the working cursor on screen without any reason. After a while it disapears.
The Rom is fast. It's almost as smooth as sheckar's ROM with 1.6 driver. I can't understand what HTC did with 3.XX drivers. I really apreciate the work of our cookers, making our Polaris more usable. But it seems that whatever they do, Polaris is still a slow and laggy device. When I enter in Programs the icons are loading in replay. Sometimes I just hate my Polaris. Most likely when my Polaris is dead, never HTC for me again.

Thank you epimazzo for making, in my opinion, the best Rom around, which could use the latest radio. The only things I needed to install was iContact 0.9 and BatteryMetter. I am really impresed with Opera Mini. It's really fast via Wifi compaired with Opera Mobile. I have been using Skyfire for a while now and flash is working great onto it. It was a pleasant surprise to see it inclided. Keep up the good work. By the way, do you have plans in getting a new device ?

Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find ""Do not lock buttons" option anymore. When the screen is blank, only if I press the power button the phone wakes up. If I remeber well this option was in Settings\Lock. Could someone give me a hint ?

Wifi and Bean options are both accessible from Shap's tool menu. You can add or remove what you want. Think is simple.

There's no autofocus feature in this camera build. It's a Raphael camera. Does not come with this function built in.

Basically build version. That's all. By using it, you'll have faster response and stable need. I use the same apps packs in both releases.

How can I activate the Music and Internet Tabs in M2D? I tried M2DC, but they don´t even appear in the Tab Menu.

A great ROM, but for further release, please remove Haptic Feedback. It´s terrible, Touch Response is much better! I also have the frequent restarts of M2D. Any solution available?

Great ROM I like it very much!!!
I downgraded the radio to 1.59.44.02 and igo8 works perfect now...
No problem with Activesync at all!!!
I did NOT have any problem with the phonecalls at any moment in any version of the radio i installed.
The backlight screen is inactive.. cannot change intensity and moore..
BUTTTTT HOW DO WE SOLVE THE AUTOFOCUS ISSUE???

I'm already started to work on a new build probably 21014 convinced by my friend shekhar! hehehehehe
Backlight is fixed and I back to our Polaris original camera.
Haptic is also removed and I'll use 1.60 drivers so we can have fun with extra memory!:D

So, give me some time...news coming! Maybe with the new M2D....:)

Good news:D I see many good feedbacks about your ROMs but I never tried them since new 1.59.XX radios don't work good for me, also extra RAM is always welcome. May I ask also for a lite version with 3G video dialer?

Raphael is diamond pro i think. strange they are no front camera and no autofocus on this rom.

UDK work in is new rom with new rom of HTC Iolite (touch cruise 2) but to much bug for the moment.

2. Sometime I must reset my device to use edge.
3. Backlight cannot fix.
4. I cannot find sent out folder in SMS/MMS any more.(I really want it so much)

Yes, 16 MB more RAM are always welcome.
But there aren't any 1.68 Radio ROMs for polaris.
Only 1.64 from Kaiser ported to Polaris.

Agree with the footprint comment, looks nice but I dont think its that useful from what I saw on Chavonbravo's rom. Would have preferred it to be a cab install extra if it was possible.

I've never included a radio on my roms. I always leave as it is so you guys play around freely. Keylock is there. Be in mind that scrollbar can be changed using Schap's tool. Simple. ;)

Please test SRS Wow Audio to see if it works. I've tested it in some other 1.6 driver ROM and it works. The sound is more clear on the phone (especially in calls). Thank you for your quick answers. Looking forward into testing the new born ROM.

I've just seen in post 2 how to map rotate screen to a button. Everything is fine with one exception: the keyboard doesn't work. It simply doesn't appear on the screen. Any fix ? (How is development on the ROM ?)

These "unaligned" thumbnails do not present any advantage in terms of usability/readability. It's just a waste of screen space.

I can only connect through bluetooth i think but that's not enough to run the hard slp.
I tried to install my former ROM from the memorycard and it worked, i have my former ROM but the touch navia start screen is still the first screen i get when booting the device AND still nog active sync connection with USB.

Does anyone has a solution or idea?

VC on this version isn't 1.6:rolleyes: It's 1.2 which is working fine. Don't update it coz you really don't need it. I can't confirm that other versions will work.;)

I would think that the Iolite CarKit or car charger has a specific connector (like the HTC e100/w100 remote control) and if connected the device switches to CarKit mode and shows screen with only 6 large buttons, mainly for navigation purposes.

"my town/city accuweather" without quote marks.

B. You should get a hit with the accuweather website, open in new tab, verify if it is your town/city.

C. Copy the URL into a blank notepad, here is my example

D. Use Activesync/Windows Explorer to copy to a temp location on your PC the file from the HTC \Windows\HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml.

G. Goto the alphabetic name of your town/city.
H. Add a blank line and add the entry

<city name="my town/city name, 2 letter ISO country code" loca="code from the URL in the other notedpad" land="Name of your Country"/>

I. Save the file locally.

J. Copy to the SD card or Temp folder of your device the new file.

K. Use Resco Explorer or GS Finder to copy/paste your new file with the old one.

Get advantage, I decided to cut off many of those apps found in V3 to get most of 1.60 drivers. So, we now have something near to 50MB free.
New Manilla eats a lot of memory and I kept which I assume be basic for our daily routines. I'll provide CABs for what I had taken out.:p

Have you tried new Resco Explorer? It has a finger option. That's what I use in place of File Explorer. I'm still mixing some compontens of the OS, trying to get most in terms of performance X stability. Not easy...confess..hehehehe

I've seen you're working... how about considering changing the indicators icons ? It sure looks nice...

When I mean indicators I mean like in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3392827&postcount=3 I applied the cab but the signal icon doesn't appear and the sound icon disapears after a few seconds after reboot. I think that there are some other dlls needed for polaris.

Right now I'm using 3LIT3 VI ROM which was the first that used the mixture between 1.x and 3.x drivers. Works fine but the same old volume control. I didn't noticed this fact until now, so it didn't bothered me.

the phone rings for 1-2incoming calls and then stops.

Has anyone verified ActiveSync works properly, this is critical for me to update my existing old Khanx Touch Navia 1.5 version. I have the 1.59.44.02 radio and it looks like I have to flash to a different one to use this rom....bummer because this is a great radio for AT&T here in the NW. Is there a really great 1.58 or otherwise radio version folks have had good luck with that I can match up to the new ROM?

Because the startup.wav is not the sound what I'm searching. It can be testing, when the orig startup.wav with any other wav file overwrited. It is very interresting, because at the known place under registry is only the startup.wav. But it isn't!

Good news around! I finally finished to cook V3.1 successfully. It means that all things I was working on ended fine.:)

I'll not give so much details at this moment. I'll publish changes in log later on first page.

I'd say that I used some of Rhodium system parts and apps + xip 21140 + 21109 build. AKU 1.6.0.

ROM now is compatible with radios 1.59.x or earlier and also comes with 100MB as program memory.

I still wanna test some functions so, expect upload later on or tomorrow during the morning....

But in the Schap's advanced config tool can be setting only the startup sound. My question was the sound at the splash screen. How can I changing it?
I'm sorry for my English, I involved the startup sounds in my question, because the nearest sound - what's playing at splash screen - found in windows folder is the startup.wav file. But startup.wav is a little bit different.
By the way, if we speak about the startup sound, it is a bug at your 3.0 ROM. The startup sound (default is BootUpHTC.wav) will not playing after the end of winmos starting, but before the launching of the first application. Ex. Audio Manager. If I try setting any other sound, the same thing will be happening. It will playing before the first application.

I have problem with bluetooth too as another one. I am an really old KhanX-ROM-user, a KhanX-ROM-fan! But this problem was never so big for me, as this. It is by the ROM Version 3 only, by earlier was never problem.
I have in my car a radio with Bluetooth. I'm calling always throug this bluetooth connection. But after the first calling (it's no matter is a calling-in or calling-out) I have no more sound! It means the first calling is always fine at the end I pick down the phonecall. Then next e.g. I'm trying to call another number, I hear nothing! Neither the dialing tone, nor the speak if the calling was successfull and the other person starts speaking. Neither through the speaker in my car, nor through the speaker of the phone.
In another case, I had only one calling under the driving. All was successfull, because it was only one. Then! I get out from my car, the radio in my car is off. After one hour I saw that I have an incomming call. I searched the time of this incomming call, and I established it was since I'm seating in my office. Then I'm trying to a new call, and I hear nothing.
So I think with the Bluetooth connection is something not really perfect.
I hope this will in the new release repaired! :o

I spent hours trying to solve this F%$^$#%$ QuickGPS issue without luck at all. For an unknown reason, it started to connect, download and fail without update data.
"Connectin failed. Please try again later."

It update manually but is not an expected behaviour.:mad:

I read guides but it didnt'work as well. I'm still trying to fix using different versions also signing them. no luck. I don't know what happened really but I won't release it without fixing this. Sorry.

If you wanna help me, light me up with some clear solution that I try.

In the first post Epimazzo recommends radio version 1.59.42.15.

This radio is part of the Originl HTC WM6.1 upgrade which can be downloaded here:

So if you install the original HTC ROM first and then Epimazzo's ROM, you're set.

1. The number-buttons that are used when entering the SIM/PIN-code seem to be the wrong size. The 1,2,3 buttons are very small (the numbers don't fit). 4,5,6 are slightly larger etc. It's very difficult to enter your PIN-code.
2. In Manilla2D there are references to iContact on the softbuttons, but iContact is not installed by default.

Yes i do; i've allready a "HH_0409_WeatherCities" with all the Portugal cityes. It happens with some rom's. For the most off them, if we change the Manila2d.exe for that one that i refered, the problem was solved, but with anothers (like yours), when i do that, touchflo don´t start.
Well, it's a nice work and all i have to do is say thank you for share.

Large Start menu is ON by default. You won't find a shortcut to disable it on this release. :rolleyes: Install a CAB found in post #4 on first page to enable!

Thanks. That post was very difficult to understand but I installed the Arthemus Taskbar_QVGA_V2.cab and that fixed the PIN-screen.

It also changed a few of the icons on the top of the screen, but that's OK for now.

very nice ROM! it's fast as hell, everything works fine, except that in M2D the browser don't start right after flashing. So I had to set the "default browser" in M2DC, and now it works fine too :) ;)

a small question: now I'm using radio_polaris_1_59_42_15. Newer radios are not allowed with this ROM? I'm asking because I've much longer battery life with 44.02...

I love this ROM, especially the new icons.

The AudioManager stops playing when I turn off the screen (stand-by).
This is fixed in the 3LIT3 ROM may be an improvement in your next release.

G-alarm doesnt work.
Installed Netcf3.5 but that doesnt help.
I have never had this problem with any other rom.
Installs fine but I get error, supportinfo 2 when the program starts.

This rom works great and fast too.
Just have hard time finding the facebook app installed in the rom.
It took my password and username but there is no way to log on.

I love this ROM, especially the new icons.

The AudioManager stops playing when I turn off the screen (stand-by).
This is fixed in the 3LIT3 ROM may be an improvement in your next release.

Have you tried latest version 1.5.1? If not, grab it here:

And...do not install NETCF3.5 coz is already integrated on ROM:p

G-alarm doesnt work.
Installed Netcf3.5 but that doesnt help.
I have never had this problem with any other rom.
Installs fine but I get error, supportinfo 2 when the program starts.
Has anyone else got this problem?
Apart from that this rom i great.

Have you tried any other navigation software like Destinator or TomTom? I have never heard about this one sorry. I'll install my Destinator and see if works properly.
Meanwhile, suggest you search a bit for a solution.;)



Navigon 7 did not find the GPS adapter !

I posted some fixes for those who are having issues with bigger menu and large title menu. Also, I posted a working Camera version from Udk. It's an old one but it works well in case you want autofocus back. But be in mind that its operational function is slow compared to Raphael one found in V3.1:rolleyes:
