There seems to be a little mistake in first post:

HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies
valuename '00001001' was set to dword:2, change it to dword:1

dword: any thing other than 1 disallows unsigned
dword: 1 allows unsigned

So, I've changed this value to 1, booted my device normally - and, wow, "pdocread -l" gives me partitions list:

The ".exe" file must not be renamed, you have to run it from PC.

From the ".exe" file I took a part which you can update your device from SD card with.

There is a file url in the post #21 . It is an wwe (english) rom which can be updated from SD card.
Because this ROM does not check the language of the device.

hello all:

I have a english p565 and i would like to update its firmware but when i download the malaysia version from asus site i get a "check your language on your device...." message even though i have the english version. I guess i cant update it the .exe way.

is my only solution to do what post #21 says to do? if so, can someone repost the .rar file. the download link above is broken :(

yes i want to update my english p565 but none of the firmware upgrades on Asus' website works. They all give me the "check language" error message. My extended rom version is IND00 which i assume is India? which is not listed for download.

Finally, I have managed to update my device with the provided .ABI file, and everything is fine.

And for all the "smart" folks like me that never actually managed to see the bootloader, the key is to HOLD NaviPad Down AND RESET until the device boots. Do not just press once both buttons and then let go as it doesn't work!

dumped part00-02
the flashed the official firmware update
now i found i cant return to the original firmware even if i got part00-02
missed out extrom from the dsk4:
however right now by dumping the dsk4:
disassemble the GM5_V6.12.0S.CHT00.00_M4.6.5.P7_V2.10.0 TWN00_20090123_3050.00.exe and got extrom.img out of it
then found out that extrom i got from the dsk4: have got lots of extra
FF bytes paddings therefore file size is extra bigger then the extrom.img
But after cutting off the extra bytes, file size now match
done a binary compare on the two shows there are differences in parts of the file..
one of the diff was block of string "ENCFIL~1MEN" in the dsk4 image
while the extrom.img from GM5_V6.12.0S.CHT00.00_M4.6.5.P7_V2.10.0 TWN00_20090123_3050.00.exe have 00 bytes.
thought that there is a reconstruction process from these RAW files from flash, to create a flashable GM5*.abi for downgrade to factory ROM, i was wrong.
saw several sites with howto cook a p565 rom and tools on the forum
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337066 but this doesnt apply to p565
Without a reverse process of these part raw partitions on the device to compile a *.abi to usable for flashing, dumping ROM not useful

I backed up my German ROM before upgrading, find it at mediafire:

It is a slightly different (older) Version than the initial post.
