its something like i have Windows Vista SP1 which is really the most stable OS i ever used. Y wud i format my OS partition and install Windows 7 which is a beta yet? it has several bugs which can ruin the files, and even breach security.

haven't had a 100% stable rom on my Artemis since it was bought ( tried : official WM5, official WM6, black & blue 6.1) and as we all know, sometimes the thing just crashes. I may as well have a new toy to play with that crashes if it's going to do that anyway.

it's not the same as testing a desktop OS at all (although i AM beta testing W7)

if it WAS available for the Artemis yet, I'd be installing ASAP

unfortunately it is only for blue angel at the moment :(

eya u r right... this is off topic, but windows 7 had bugs which duznt allow to join to domain networks, and it updates the MP3 files incorrectly, and even has problems with some windows installer setups...

the problem with mobile windows is, that its for blueagel, and its in early beta stage yet. if it is to be run in artemis, the rom size has to be below 64MB.. BlueAngel has 96MB of ROM, and when i checked the downloads, they were about 90MB in size..

its too early that someone can slipstream or port this WM6.5 to artemis yet, since most information abt it havent been published. i'll just wait with the more stable version yet, coz it will save my time... will think abt checking the ROM when i feel its a it safer to try it..

I have gotten not much luck yet with Core or Elfin-hybrid kitchen. A lot of roms that I extract only give me a Packages folder and no SYS/OEM (your rom too) only the official HTC and o2 roms give me OEM/SYS folders..

Nice one, it runs alright here, too bad it is not a clean rom. I've tried to extract it with Core kitchen but no cigar. SYS/OEM folders are not properly created and stay empty. I wish people would stop releasing `protected` roms so we can just extract them and put in/take out what we want :mad:

Edit: Beware that after flashing the thai/pdamobiz rom you will have new (ugly) splash screens, a reflash with another cooked rom might not fix this as not all roms come with new splash screens. I use this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317726) tool to change the splash screens to something I like.

as said above, the 2nd splash image is truly awful...just hope you dont have to reboot in the pub because you WILL get laughed at :o)

apart from that seems stable and fast.

cant seem to find a way of getting a clock on the homescreen which is a little frustrating, but i'm sure i'll sort it with some more playing

one bug i've noticed is that since flashing i cant sync if i've got outlook open....that might just be my computer though, but WMDC says it cant sync becuase files are in use either by the device or the PC

there are some registry settings at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\ for the titanium plugin...

i presume you've got the same issue as me (trying to enable the clock)

a quick google turned up the Letama Home Clock Hotfix but this doesn't seem to have done anything for me

the writer said that he had found there was a missing reg key but the only difference i can see in his supplied cab is

Try Meschle_4.01_Vanilla. It's very stable.

the battery life is really dirty. 2 hrs only and the phone is down to 74% with only being on standby. Have anyone of you faced the same issue with this Rom or is it only me who is facing this issue.

I test this rom, and I found it very cool. for battery drain I changed radio 3.39.90 with radio 3.34.90 and it work very good, after 1 day it's 90%.

still long way to go, i found nothimng special as yet in 6.5, rather after flashing it started eating up my battery like its hungry for days and weeks. Only SMS account is working fine, I installed emoze as well as windows live but not able to see those accounts in the account picker, so it is not convenient, the phone hanged a couple of times, but not sure exactly by which action. Overall I feel still time til it gets settled down :-)

this is the first post for me in this website, btw, i tried on my HTC P3300 the new pdaviet, and it works well, can read now the all capacity of my SD card 8GB, can see it all, got a problem on the QuickGPS program that doesn't work, before and after i installed TomTom 6 on it, battery seems running fast if i use it......
Still working on the rest of the programs.....

I doubt the problems lie with 3.39.90 itself, I been using it ever since its out on the forums and havent noticed any extra drain, I put 3.39.90 after flashing the roms I try. Right now I got mechle 3 vanilla on it and overnight the battery is still 100%. Might combination of 3.39.90 + wm6.5.

I have Dopod P800w and i had problems with 3.39.90 + WM6.1; not just battery but for many times I lost GSM conexion... maybe with HTC P300 it is not problem...

and about new WM6.5... we have now 2 versions:

1. Dhee_WM6.5_b1_21139 and
2. ARTE_WM6.5__3_15_122_38__B21139

I tested both:

1. "+" first Artemis WM6.5 version, quite stable, BT WiFi GPS work OK, Camera 6
"-" radio 3.39.90, ugly spash screen, a lot of unnecesary stuff
2. "+" clean, stabile, nice Manila, BT WiFi GPS -> OK
"-" just ~ 14 Mb Program memory (Route66 blocked my Dopod few time - need restart) and no Camera 6

Another weird thing... over night battery level fell from 50% to 43% with BT WiFi GPS and display OFF ?!? Because that I did a test this morning... I left my Dopod for 10 min. with display ON (lowest level of brightness) and... battery level fell from 43% to 40% ?!? This is normal ? I used radio 3.34.90 :(

well i'd expect it to drop a LITTLE bit over night, even with no BT or wifi on...7% isnt too bad.

it's still powering the phone radio etc. Any phone will loose power over night, and remember PDA phones don't actually totally turn OFF like a normal phone, it's just on standby.

you could try a different radio version, people often find that helps with battery drain issues

For battery drain issues, you can try to turn off GPRS as in the GB soft Tweak.
It will helps.

After installing ARTE_WM6.5__3_15_122_38__B21139 I was unable to execute any cab-files on my Artemis. Which is highly annoying due to not being able to install TomTom especially.
I've tried to reinstall ARTE_WM6.5__3_15_122_38__B21139. This didn't work due to an error [224] message saying my Pc wasn't able to connect. But my Artemis and sync were both on and alive!

Where did I go wrong?

How can I fixe this problem?

Am I able to reinstall an older ROM-version (which I have already try using the same method by installing ARTE_WM6.5__3_15_122_38__B21139)?

It is a still a beta people, this means things are bound not to work. It comes with the territory. If you use your phone as phone, do not run any 6.5 firmwares until it is stable :o

not sure what the problem is for you.
i've been running the pdamobiz version for almost a week now, with tomtom7 installed and running.
except fot the sms bug i mentioned (easily fixed) i've had no problems at all. just as stable as previous 6.1 roms i've used but with newer IE, camera etc
been using it for business and personal use as normal

sounds like you may need to reflash...try putting it into bootloader mode first.

edit: forgot to say, writing this ON my phone in IE :o)

I did the same test (GPRS off) with another ROM's SHEEN, achilles and ARTE and, over night battery level fell somewhere between 1-3 %. Because that I stoped to test WM6.5... I wait a new and optimized ROM.

You're my hero for today. Getting it in bootloader mode was the trickiest part which eventially succeded. After that I installed the same ROM. This did the trick. Everything works fine for now ...

Yes you can bandit. The XDA Orbit is the same as the P3300/Artemis. Any rom for Artemis/P3300 can be used on the XDA Orbit. Just be sure you run USPL/CID unlock. See the sticky about it here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403).

@bandit999 : yes, these roms should work fine on the orbit....got it running on my orbit fine, as dutchcow said you need to USPL first, thats probably the hardest bit to do buut persevere and you'll be fine.

just installed beta 2 on my orbit, working great so far :)
manilla, camera6, ie6 pre-installed and running well
installed tomtom7 , s2u2, and some WWE keyboard skins...all fine
only bug so far : camera app sometimes wont start from hardware button, starts ok from programs menu though. this was also a bug in beta1. not a showstopper though
SMS message threading is disabled - this is to fix the bug that was in beta1. hopefully there's a better fix on it's way

had to do the usual "advanced network functionality" fix to get activesync working but thats pretty standard

manilla works smoothly, not sure about the iphone-y skin on the buttons but the clock's nice

as thormdac said, quickGPS is a little tempremental but it's never really done anything for me anyway even on official roms so i'm not bothered about that one

this time based on build 21140.5.0.0 ... at first that doesnt look like a massive leap from the 21139 builds we've been trying so far, but theres only one way to find out eh! :D

unfortunately it looks like he's put a LOT of extra crap in there again :( dont know what's going on with the last few screenshots but i hope theres a way to turn that schoolboy interface off. Fortunately this guy seems to know how to compress the extras pretty well....i've not had ANY memory space issues with either of his roms so far.

on the plus side, apart from the new build of 6.5 :

this build has a new version of chome/ titanium with larger buttons AND a time/date panel

AND the first appearance i've seen of the rumoured marketplace and My Phone (?) features

I have installed the PDAMobiz beta 2 full version. I am really impressed by the manilla included in this rom. Only glitch that I could think of is the synchro time. I have tried atleast 50 times to get it updated from internet, but it will never respond. I tried all the servers but to no avail. I get the error as
"Server hasn't responded". Can any one help me in this error.

PS:- My internet connection is working fine and I am writing this from my mobile itself.

Has any of you solved the QuickGPS bug in PDAMobiz beta 2 full version (Build 21140.5.0.0 )?

The rom (first link) is in Chinese. The kitchen I can't download because I dont want to install rayfile client software. The Chinese rom is clean, if not stock, would be a nice base if someone can find the needed translated files to make it work in English. I;ve tried setting the language in the region settings by moving around in the options until i saw a pound sign for the money, but after a soft reset apart from the day now being in Egnlish nothing really changed.

Some software in the rom:

- Camera 4.03
- Media Player 10.3 build 21140

No office, and about 28.57mb free memory and 51.03mb storage.

Brilliant, have kitchen, as I don't have all files translated though, I am unsure of usage.

--just install the client, the site is available in english and you can always uninstall afterwards, I have nod32 and no problems as yet. Happy days

Hi.
Can someone tell me how and from wich link \i can install java to my artemis with flashed wm6.5 of pdaviet. The rom is very fantastic but lacks java. I guess that this can be available at java.com with name java me. but m not sure. can someone help me for this as i need java for my artemis.
