I returned back to Anryl ROM 27/2/2009, its much more stable until fix these problems becasue my device hung up after trying to lock & unlock device

I've installed this ROM also on my device, but having some issues.
These are the things that I'm experiencing:

- IE is not working at all, doesn't load. Parts that use this app are working, like MSN Weather Widget. But Marketplace and MSN Money load, staying in a black screen and sometimes the pda hangs after it.

- Installed alsol opera. When opening it gives the screen "loading", but doesn't continue and the screen stays there all the time. Cannot end the process at all.

- Getting started gives an error when opening it and asks to close.

- MS Live and messenger don't work, when trying to login it gives that it cannot connect to the service. I've tried with wifi and hspda, both same problem.

- Seems also that I have a bluetooth issue when connected with my carkit. When connected the performance is really bad at that moment and sometimes no reaction at all. Also sometimes my car gives the message that my phone is disconnected and then I cannot browse my phonebook.


So with these issues I need to reboot my phone a lot and it's really annoying.

Does anyone have also experienced these problems and have any solution for this?

First yes there is a landscape mode.

I have tried IE but it will not surf, it gets about 10% and then locks, I have to go back to End Key and select about three times and it stops.

when I go back to regular view sometimes it only shows one panel at a time.

Everthing else seems to work great, I have not loaded my regular programs yet, I will do that tonight and report back.

I love the look and the feel of this release.

I have been using a blackberry curve for a long time the last WM phone I used was the original Moto Q which I did not mod at all. You will need to read the whole wiki before trying this. CAUTION you can brick your phone, really. pls read the wiki and maybe strat with something that is not in Beta form

if you do respect the master chefs work then please read and keep caught up on this thread instead of complaining and asking question that have already been answered MANY times. the way i do it is i remember what page i read last and then the next day I go straight back to that page and read all new posts, even if its been 5 more pages of post, i will still read them to keep caught up. and a WISE NOTE TO NEWBS about beta roms: BETA ROMS I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM UNTIL YOU KNOW/UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!! Also my bronzeres.dll and fixed cpr's.

Instructions are to unzip files and copy them to \windows directory with total commander with titanium disabled. To go back to the old way, just delete the files and the riginals will be automatically restored.

Lucky for me, I managed to download the latest version of V7 before it was taken off. Generally, I like this better than earlier versions. Likes nicer.

After testing, here's the results:

Working:
1. Exchange sync OTA. Didn't try WIFI sync.
2. Devicelock is working.

Not Working:
1. Camera - Tried some fixes (changing storage locations and memory size) that I read and downloaded (fix.zip) from other threads but still it doesn't work.

2. PCMKeyboard - Tried default IM and SIPChange

3. Bluetooth - a profiles like elm-13??? can't be deleted. In Start-Settings, can see elm-06, elm-07 and elm-08. Not sure how to delete them.

Thank you, not sure if the bug can be fixed though. In order to keep touch scrolling working I had to keep the Hexagon Grid. Looks like the dll controlling it is trying to "move" that extra row of Hexagons Ladscape usaully has back. Ends up making a ghost image. From testing I've done though it doesn't effect the use, just looks. Will have to get with utop to see if we can find a fix in the dll since he's better with Hex Editing them.

Go to Start/Settings/Today, click the "Items" tab, uncheck the box next to "Titanium", click the "X" or hit "OK" key. That will disable "Titanium". Copy the dll and install any cabs you want for theme's etc, Soft Reset, go back to the "Items" tab and recheck off the box next to "Titanium" and hit ok/X again.

I think shellres.dll has info on how the "Hexagon Grid" works. Normally it has 3 Hexagons Horizontally in Portrait and 4 in Landscape. It looks as though it's still trying to move that 4th row back into the 3 row mix making the ghosting image bug. In the StartMenuGrid cpr, shellres.dll in mentioned leading me to believe that must be the dll controlling this function. Have to see if there's a way to disable it or something.

I flashed V8 via USB and am terribly impatient that I hardly ever hard reset after flashing and have no problems. That being said, if they suggest it you should try it. If you don't and have some bug, that could be why.

the reason why cal and I flashed via sd is because at 1st we flashed via usb and had alot of messaging problems, and i had read that some times a sd flash works better than usb. 95% of the time i flash via usb, but when i rom acts up i'll reflash via sd and surprisingly ALOT of times small bugs are gone after the sd flash which is what cal and myself noticed with the messaging. and if you think about it and you flash via sd, thats more of a direct flash than as opposed to using usb where you have to have bug ridden activesync doing part of the work. i don't know if any of that makes since but this is what ALOT of flashers have noticed.

To add on to that, I noticed had been flashing by SD Card for many months now and it definitely is better in terms of speed and less problem. I also noticed that after the flashing, when the screen calibration starts, and if I do the calibration and the crosses moves slow, chances are my TyTN will not work well later. I had since tried doing a number of hard reset after the SD Card flashing and when the calibration crosses moves fast, I get a better performance and less problem when my TyTN finishes the first boot after setup.

Give it a try, nothing to loose but a few more minutes more after the flashing.

Let me know your results if you try it.

probably not all that helpful, but i am not skilled enough to do much tweaking, so i apologize if this just sounds like my complaints. That is not my intention, as i want to see this rom in tip top shape. The dev's have all done an excellent job on this one.

The titanium theme feels faster than last time, still not smooth by any means, but better than before, particularly the honeycomb start menu.

Comms all worked like a charm (i use wmwifi router fairly regularly)

The gui froze on me a couple of times, but it was probably problems with installed programs. once i had kinoma free play operating, still playing while the gui was locked up, for about 30 min.

Iris browser did not work on the last build, and did on this one

Exchange server OTA still only connects the first time, and will not sync after that.

let me know if there is more info i can provide that would be of use.

btw: haven't changed my sig yet, but i switched to cmonex's hardspl 3.56 today before the flash.

Using V8 now. Similarly to V7 (I didn't mention it earlier because at that point, I didn't test), Opera 9.5 build 15954 doesn't work, it stops with the Opera icon showing and have to SR. Tested 15529 build on V7 didn't work too. PIE freeze after started to connect a few seconds (V7 and V8), need SR.

PCMKeyboard is working now.

Camera, after changing resolution to 'S' and storage to 'Main Memory', when I try to take a photo, it automatically SR. Installed PDACorner_Camera_6.8.32567.0.cab, SR, still deosn't work.

I've had this problem with whole series. I'm not sure if anyone else uses SPB products but I bought them and I'm gonna use them dagnabbit. Anyways, in SPB Diary and SPB Mobile shell the Calendar Items do not show. I was curious if something about the database changed. They've always worked in the past with all the custom ROMs. I can see the appointments with the built-in outlook and with Pocket Informant but with the aforementioned items they don't show.

I restore my pim info by copying the pim.vol from sd to root. It has always worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seriously, first time jitters are expected but just do it my friend. Worst comes to worst take it back to the Mobile Device Center in Mt Laurel and get a new one.

The Wiki has all the info you need.

Start with the hard spl (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396922)
I don't remember doing the CID Unlocked but that doesn't mean much
Then download the ROM from the first post. Copy the nbh to the root of ur SD Card. Rename it KAISIMG.nbh.
Hold down the camera button and ttick your stylus in the reset hole and VOILA! u've flashed ur first ROM.

I've flashed mine also to V8 and looks great and performance is also better.
Ok still beta and normal that there are some bugs.
I don't know if it's ok or not to provide some bugs so it can help to develop a better rom. But here we go:

- When connected to BT Carkit, the performance is really slow/hanging. When disconnected it takes a few mins and it's back ok. Maybe I can install the driver update from the HTC site for my device.
- Windows Live/messenger is still having connection issues. I will install the most recent version of MS site and check if this will resolve the issue.
- I've installed GPRS monitor of Efficasoft and when I want to read a sms or create one, this appl pop ups at that time... Sometimes in front, sometimes flashing one time and goes away. Maybe because the appl is loaded into the mem and checking the gprs traffic all the time.

So if I found a solution for the issues I will post them.
If anyone has already found one, pls post them too...

when i try to use accents or symbols (Fn + space) it won works, because there is a sort of xt9 installed... probabily the other keyboards are unuseful ;)

Well I've seen the recommendation to flash a stock AT&T ROM and then try a customized one (just in case the one previous does something strange) so I'm trying that now.

I mean I can always boot back into the bootloader and re-flash thru USB or SD, but ultimately the state of the phone is sitting on the primary splash screen (due to what I just tried it's the AT&T logo) with the 3 red diagnostic lines showing radio, whatever the 2nd thing is, and the ROM ID string.

I'll try to wait longer this time. Is it a significantly longer wait than the majority of 6.1 ROMs?

how are you flashing the rom? forgive me if you have posted how you are, but i've not seen it. try flashing via sd, thats preferred if you have and it's not working the try flashing via usb. when you enter boot loader what is on the screen?

Will you remove EVERYTHING off your sd card, re-fat32 format it, then put ONLY the KAISIMG.nbh for this rom on there and try to flash, or leave all as is and try to flash a different rom via sd and see if that works.

ok, so far the rom seems to be faster and more stable than earlier release, i am having sms/mms problems again tho. when i click new mms it shows the cursor, but nothing ever hapens, it doesn't freeze the phone at first but slows it WAY down.

still having active sync via usb problems as well.

installed that arcsoft att cab now mms working again, installed the 6.8 camera and dropped resolution to 2mp

I'm trying this now. My battery wasn't low or anything and I haven't actually booted into this rom even once so the scenario isn't identical...worth a shot though.

It was on two different ISP's but on the same laptop. I'm going to download it to another machine entirely and try again that way if jeffbar1's solution doesn't work for me...maybe winrar is screwing it up or something.

Is there a way I can get my hands on v7? Or am I kinda stuck with this until v9?

I've searched and read that this issue was fixed, but it seems that sometimes when the phone goes to sleep, it actually goes into a coma and needs a soft reset to come back to life. I'll try to reproduce this if I can.

Also, one small bug I found in the camera, after using the camera fix. it locks up if you try to delete a photo you just took. I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere.

Overall, this is a great ROM and I appreciate the work that has been put into it.

[edit] - The ROM somehow (I don't know how) ate my SD card. Looks like it replaced everything with a couple of system folders (CABSTO~2). Nothing lost that can't be replaced. I'll format it and see if it happens again... if I can find how to format - any suggestions?

master chef, so far so good on V8, the rom it's self is FREAKING FAST, i know that the gui isn't and alot of people are gonna base off of the gui, but when i go to the windows folder it takes no time for it to load up and i only have 50% free storage left after all my installs!!!:D;):D only prob, the camera is still acting up, not sure about that one, but i will retry the noted fixes, but for anyone having sms/mms problems with this rom, heres what i did to get it up and running.

I installed fdsoft task manager, and killed the messaging ap (tmail) and pocket outlook. next i installed the arcsoft att messaging cab and rebooted and all is well now!!!! i am running hard spl 3.56!

on v7, i couldn't use the browser interfaces (i tried several operas since ie was broke), gps/bluetooth worked fine, camera saves didn't hold (saving message dialog box popped up with transparent bg and rotated the four ms dots, but never saved...i tried the 'fix' with no luck.)

on v8, internet (ie atleast) seems ok, bluetooth/gps ok, still having no luck saving camera pics(although a camera app dialog popped open detecting a new save loc.., the album works as well as the picture viewer and recognizes pics from the sd card.., email ok, sms/mms ok, ms weather widget ok, windows keyboard now works inside pie, internet explorer add/remove tab is inactive if clicked...anyone find this to work? i think it did sort of on v7 after i first flashed but lost functionality thereafter...

sometimes after soft reset then startup, front hardware keys disabled requires tickle of the touchscreen to wake hard keys back to usage, same tickling in conjunction with hardware on/off key required to wake up when locked (sometimes)


Also of interest, this after installing sdkcerts.cab, new chomedll and others, then weather cab-

titanium weather which is really nice although when installed seems to occupy the 4 in 1 chome message/call/email/voicemail tab(which i activated with the order and success of the installations) with a slightly different version that doesn't display zero messages or emails etc, but shows when any present but a little particular with accessing directly through this neat tab .. id like to have the original 4-in-1 with the titanium weather but didn't seem to have luck..any others?

CClock;CHome;CTestUIPlugin;CAppointments;CLinks;CH omeFavs;CWindowsLive;CMusic;CMyPhotos;Settings

Also my bronzeres.dll and fixed cpr's.

Instructions are to unzip files and copy them to \windows directory with total commander with titanium disabled. To go back to the old way, just delete the files and the riginals will be automatically restored.

Did you install Showacoo's version one or version 2 cab. Version 1 had the 5 day outlook. I don't remember right now, went back to 6.1 for stability issues. My tilt kept hanging on G.S, but there maybe "pages". Try scrolling left or right with either touch or the d-pad and see if it shows other days.

Very nice! I tested it with Anryl's 21179 rom and worked flawlessly with only one problem, it crashed the devicelock and locked up my TyTN II. I even went to Showaco's original thread to try it with the same result.

I hope that the problem with devicelock can be sorted out though. Thanks.

They must of changed something in the cmhome.dll. This is from 21169 and therefore is not recommended on any newer builds incase they changed something in the dll in the newer builds. You should only use a moded dll from the build you are using. Secondary note, Lock Screen & Honeycomb are also part of cmhome.dll. There's code in this dll for them which must be why it breaks device lock.

On the other hand, the default HTC TSK has light green top and bottom bar, and in messenging, the highlighted email is also green. I like the original blue color in messinging from the windows mobile 6.S TSK Blue.TSK (the one with the beach view which is found in Anryl's 21179 rom). When I dropped my own stwater_240_320.gif and stwater_320_240.gif into \Windows, my background won't change.

So, is there something special in a TSK that I need to do in order to use my own stwater_240_320.gif and stwater_320_240.gif files? Stwater is actually the old start menu background, tdywater is the old home screen background, Titanium uses today_background_240x320.png, today_background_320x240.png, startmenu_background_240x320.png, and startmenu_background_320x240.png. Those images are linked in the cprs. I always to be safe replace all 8 images.

To change the bars, G.S uses Black_Taskbar.png and Black_Softkeybar.png. The color of those bars are no longer controlled by registry values in the tsk as they used to be. The rest of the color is still in the registry. My suggestion is to make your own .tsk. I use ThemeGenCE. Google it. It's pretty simple to use to make your own .tsk theme.

Btw, changing the theme aka .tsk will revert you back to the old menus. A fix will be needed to reset registry values. If you have a cab builder program, dl my cab and change all linked files in the registry to black_*.png instead of purple_*.png. Than just install the cab after you have switched themes and soft reset.

Most changes to Titanium alone can be done by just disabling Titanium instead of soft resetting, but a soft reset will do the same thing, so when in doubt soft reset.

Stwater is actually the old start menu background, tdywater is the old home screen background, Titanium uses today_background_240x320.png, today_background_320x240.png, startmenu_background_240x320.png, and startmenu_background_320x240.png. Those images are linked in the cprs. I always to be safe replace all 8 images.

To change the bars, G.S uses Black_Taskbar.png and Black_Softkeybar.png. The color of those bars are no longer controlled by registry values in the tsk as they used to be. The rest of the color is still in the registry. My suggestion is to make your own .tsk. I use ThemeGenCE. Google it. It's pretty simple to use to make your own .tsk theme.

Btw, changing the theme aka .tsk will revert you back to the old menus. A fix will be needed to reset registry values. If you need a cab manager I recommend WINCE Cab Manager. It's what I use. Only started making cabs a month ago, so it's easy to learn. It does cost money though and well worth it.

Btw, TSK's are basicly cabs. You can open them in WINCE CM, just don't edit anything or save it. The TSK will not be recognized by Windows if you do. Still nice for exporting any files or registry changes in the TSK though.

P.S. Please edit and remove the images from the quote in your posts. Makes the page huge having redundant images.

I also don't think that MS will acknowlege if its a hoax or not... If this is the only 6.5 ROM effected, (and I have a hard time believing that it would be, if it were NOT a hoax), then that says hoax to me.

However, I understand, empathize and agree with the stance being taken here, as I don't want ANYONE getting into trouble. However, if this is the only 6.5 ROM that received any kind of take down notice, something doesn't smell right...

If you guys think MS has nothing better to do than pick on XDA and its patrons, you are kidding yourselves! Why would they do that in the first place? WM6.5 will be released to HTC and other OEM manufacturers officially in the near future. Just think, if we were to advance the clock and assume we were in July already and WM6.5 has already been released, what could MS do if someone ported the build and started modding it? NOTHING ... This scare tactic and the pseudo self glorifying anticipation that MS would contact XDA and make a request to stop porting ROM builds off of WM6.5 is all BS. We had WM6.1 way before AT&T released it. So what is the difference?

The only easy way out for you is a hard reset unfortunately. There is NO real lock for this ROM sadly enough and thats why Utopy did not have a lock key for it.

Long time lurker first time poster!... But in comment to the above, they are the people who make, design and sell the product, it's theirs end of, I don't see the problem. Sure it's nice to have cooked ROM's but 6.5 isn't even released yet, they are well with in their rights to do this. In other words who in the hell are you to demand free unreleased software you know full well you have to pay for!
