This Is my New Colour TaskBar For The HTC Prophet (QVGA)
It changes all the icons in the taskbar for colour only thing i cant change is the signal bar but if someone knows how for GSM
please let me know the correct DLL and i will add that also (Not CDMA_RSSI_PPC.dll as this is for CDMA not GMS)

Installation :
If you have the Normal Volume control see pic below then you just install my colour TaskBar Cab file:

The Great Thing is that if you don't like it then just uninstall and all will be back to normal

These are brand new versions and are now fully qvga with the security pin pad now fixed and come in two versions Standard black pinpad or blackglass pipad and will only work for WWE Roms

I was pumped when I found your post as I had been trying many taskbar changes posted in XDA - all resulting in the need to do Hard Resets.

I installed the 2 cabs in the first post -

w@p HTC Volume Icons.cab and w@p Prophet Taskbar.cab

and the result gives me everything I have been seeking to do with the taskbar!

I have one small problem which I can live with, but would love to fix, if possible please. When I have to enter the PIN number for my mobile I get this compressed screen. (Screen01.jpg attached)

I have a HTC Touch 3G, same basic screen specs as the Prophet I think - 240x320 QVGA.

This Version is WWE and should work for all languages first install the Prophet Taskbar wwe cab
then download the two dll files below you will notice that the name is eg. shelres.96.dll.xxxx,mui you must rename the xxx to your contry ie.. shelres.96.dll.409C,mui will work for france please make sure you carry this out or not all icons will show

Hi Ducati, it's basically a Microsoft Country Code ...

Look here

and use the LCID Hexade code listed in the Table

eg -

Well I've been reading. I've run the two cabs - prophet and htc volume. Went through the reset and only have the volume icon changed. I read somewhere else I may need a sdk...cab to sign or ? Maybe another person's application? Anyway. The speaker/volume icon is nice how can I get the others to show?

This cab will only set your device to accept the digital signature used to sign phcanOverbmp.dll and the other modified dll’s, so the device can be able to display the icons.

I got it working with sdkcerts.cab (tx bstott!), but now i have a strange symbol in my taskbar, a yellow triangle with an exclamatian mark (just like the one used as icon on this forum).

Have been reading around but can't find anything to get rid of it, any suggestions?

Ok this is my TaskBar for dutch users who want to get rid of that annoying Roaming Symbol on the TaskBar i have edited the dll file and replaced the Yellow triangle with a blank icon see picture below

Well i am not to sure how to fix your problem you might need to dump your dll files from your rom then customize them i took these files from a HTC Prophet rom and that's why i posted my taskbar here if it works on other devices then that,s a bonus but if they don't i am sorry my friend you could search PPC geeks forum as they have a cool selection of custom taskbars in all resolutions

Ok i think you are using another taskbar mine is qvga so what is this ?? (FInix_VGA_Battery_and_Network_Icons_DLL_was not completely removed. My taskbar is made from edited windows DLL files no other files are installed The cab file has no Network icons dll you must of installed another package (see below) not mine




See this you cab file makes reference to this taskbar it is for VGA devices and i would suggest that you contact the maker of that cab as mine has no problem uninstall (You have used FixNover's VGA taskbar See link below and i would suggest you go ask him how to fix as i have no idea how his cab was constructed)

Well you can always make your own by reading the guides for editing dll files ;)

Ok this is the problem some of the dll used in the Taskbar are language specific this means you need a different cab for each language i forgot to post that the cab posted above is for uk/us 0409 the dll's need to be changed to your country code for them to work PM me with your code and i will try to help as long as you are patient as i have a life other than this forum LOL

I'm having trouble trying to install this. I have a Polaris, when I go to install the .cab file it comes up with:

"Installation was unsucessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate".

Any insight into how to get it working? It does it even after installing the Sdkcerts.cab too.

Please help, I'd love to have these colour icons...

well, here comes a solution,

1. unzip the attached file (password=dioxda2),

2. copy to windows directory with "Total Commander" (recommanded),

3. softreset !

PS. if you want to delete/remove them, you need to rename them first, then softreset, then delete.

just rename the file " shellres.96.dll.0409.mui " to " shellres.96.dll.0409.mu " and reset (then delete it later on if you wish).

This may be a temperary solution for you before W@P's new releases.

Hey~~ since all DLLs are in " rom" level, you can't manage to copy, cut, rename or move them, BUT

"fake over-write" them is fine (may be no warning when over-writing them). They will come back when you hard-reset or delete the new ones)

(see how to delete those new added DLLs @ the upper posts)

Yes this is a strange thing indeed i use the same dll to cook in ROMs and they work fine but when installed from cab file the security lock screen becomes garbled another mystery for the X Files :D:D:D:

These icons are for 6.1 htc prophet only if you search development and hacking you can find 6.5 taskbar icons there ;)

Well thanks but the files were already signed i made that cab to try to make it install on systems that need a signed cab ,and i used those tools to edit the dll files :rolleyes:

1. It should be able to be un-installed,

2. if not, just rename those files (better change the extention of the file like ... .dll to .dl ),

3. then, soft-reset,

4. delete those renamed ones :)

As long as your running a WWE rom if not you would have to edit a couple of the dll's to your language(change the 0409 to your country code) you can try they are uninstallable :)

Ok give this a try i have edited the dll files and re signed them for your country code 0413

and when i do nothing it boots further and for a few seconds i see the speakericon:D

i have already done a hard reset because ive i let it boot i couldnt get into programs or settings so i had to hard reset but iolite is qvga
i have to use s2u qvga special tomtom qvga so im sure its qvga:S
dont know the specific measures of the screen
but it wont be possible to use the icons then:(

I was pumped when I found your post as I had been trying many taskbar changes posted in XDA - all resulting in the need to do Hard Resets.

I installed the 2 cabs in the first post -

w@p HTC Volume Icons.cab and w@p Prophet Taskbar.cab

and the result gives me everything I have been seeking to do with the taskbar!

I have one small problem which I can live with, but would love to fix, if possible please. When I have to enter the PIN number for my mobile I get this compressed screen. (Screen01.jpg attached)

I have a HTC Touch 3G, same basic screen specs as the Prophet I think - 240x320 QVGA.

It is a problem with with the pin code is in phcanOverbmp.dll i think the one i used is vga and what is needed is a clean qvga one then all the icons need replacing in the new phcanOverbmp.dll job done but i can't find a clean phcanOverbmp.dll qvga ;)

Ok thanks for the dll the one i have from you is now ok to use but it has loads of resources missing so i will try to see if i can get this one working or make one good from the two as i now have a qvga pin pad

Have a problem after i have had the Ahen taskbar icons installed.

Since i removed it the battery does not show the amount of power left, just full power. Or if i start with the device pluged in to the power loading it shows that it is loading. It does not chnage the bat icon unless i restart the device.

I uninstalled everything, copied the original dll's that i gave you back to the windows folder. Still no correct battery power is showing.

Everything else is as before! What could have caused this?

So this one replaces the w@p Prophet Taskbar-wwe.cab then and then i install the dll's as before?! Since i have a different volume control installed.

That's not the pin code that is the PUK code i blocked my sim when i was testing this pinpad :eek::eek::eek:

I would love to make it all match and skin the PinPad white Rhodium style ect..

But here is the problem if you see the screen shot the original is black with white text if i change the background to white the text is no longer visible and i can't find out where to change the font colour so you are always stuck with a dark background

I founf out why I had no battery icon... Unlike my Treo 800W where I could have the CLOCK and battery on the taskbar, I cant on the TP2. I removed the clock from the taskbar and now I have he battery icon on the taskbar.. anyway to also have the clock?

Ok please makes sure that your device is qvga as these icons are for this resolution only i have rebuilt the pin code screen for qvga only

Is the TP2 QVGA or VGA ?

If your device is VGA then the Pin code screen Might display incorrectly ;)

I don't have a VGA device so i only made QVGA :)
