Dear forum members,
Update on 15 FEB 2010:
This is an upgraded version of the Mobile Vista V4.00 SeaDragon.
In order to allow for 6.5 and probably 7.0 the XIP was fully reworked.
The new XIP benefit is that now 6.1 is capable to hande LZX compression and is ported from my work for Mio A701/Hermes/Herald etc.
With LZX compression Free storage memory is 77.95MB and Program 42.86MB.
The rom is super fast, stable and includes registry improvements.
Future releases will include 6.5 28005 and improvements to this 6.1 as required.
For download links see following para. B
***********************************
This is the new TyTN II WWE WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.21109 Build 21109.1.6.0 Mobile Vista 4.00 SeaDragon Rom.

C. Instructions to successfully flash the rom CE image
Here bellow are the Instructions to successfully flash it.
Unzip the downloaded file:
A. RUU_Kaiser_WWE_WM6.1.21109.MobileVista4.00SeaDrago n_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.16.25_by_ansar.zip
in case you downloaded the radio inclusive one or
B. RUU_Kaiser_WWE_WM6.1.21109.MobileVista4.00SeaDrago n_by_ansar.zip
if you downloaded the nbh without the radio.
and in the created directory you will have the following:
1. This readme.txt file
2. The VistaLibWWE21109MVSD4_00 directory with the subdirectories:
- CabsToStorageCardProgramFiles, that includes:
- LiveSearch.cab 4.0.12158.1 (Microsoft)
- PocketRAR.cab 3.71
- PocketTV.cab 1.3.13
- RSSHub.cab 2.1.1.1062
- SJphone.cab Build 1.60.303c
- VisualGPSce.cab 1.2.106
- VoIP.cab -
- WMStopWatch.cab -
- XnViewPocket.cab 1.4
3. The control xml files:
- SDFileOperation.xml
- SDLinkRemove.xml and
- SDRegistry.xml
4. The control text files SDConfig.txt and SDConfig_lite.txt
SDConfig_lite.txt is used by renaming it to SDConfig.txt in order to avoid the installation of the additional cabs.
5. The nbh image RUU_Signed.nbh file that is with or without radio depending on the downloaded zip file and
6. The KaiserCustomRUU.exe file.
Before flashing make a backup of your files in Storage Card using the Data Backup Program or PIM Backup from my previous roms or your favorite backup.
In case you do not have a backup application install the Backup.cab (is PIMBuckup) found in VistaLibWWE20755M2D directory of Premium Vista 3.00.
After PIMBackup installation perform your data backup in your Storage card.
Place the VistaLibWWE21109MVSD4_00 dir and the SDConfig.txt or the renamed as SDConfig.txt SDConfig_lite.txt file in the Storage Card and
flash the RUU_Signed.nbh image file as follows:
a. Power on TyTN II
b. Connect TyTN II to your desktop or portable PC and perform all steps up to establish an Activesync connection.
Note: in Windows Vista you must have the latest version of Windows Mobile Device Center.
c. Place the RUU_Signed.nbh in the same directory with KaiserCustomRUU.exe, run KaiserCustomRUU.exe and follow the instructions.
d. After the successful flashing of the rom, KaiserCustomRUU.exe will make a Hard Reset.
e. You may unplug the usb wire as the new rom loading process will start.
The Rom flashing process will perform as follows:
a. Loads all splash screens, performs the welcome screen and displays the initial Today screen.
b. Then loads Mobile_Vista theme and installs the cabs that reside in the rom.
Then continues by performing the User Customization process as:
c. Loads all files from VistaLibWWE21109MVSD4_00 directory.
During this process the various cabs are loaded to its predefined destinations, if initial SDConfig.txt is used else
if SDConfig_lite.txt is renamed as SDConfig.txt and placed in Storage card then no cabs installed.
d. Loads the *.xml files and performs the instructions included in these files.
e. The process will finish after machine's final Reset and final boot.
Note 1: The new keyboard layout has options for small and big letters.
It is predefined to initial setup of big letters. In this case the CAPs are displayed with two taps on shift key.
Note 2: Remember that there are two start menus, the Quick with single tap and with long tap (tap and hold)
or by taping on the bottom extreme left hard key (that bellow call key)
There is also a menu activated with a tap on right top bar. This is the Wktask menu.
Note 3: The key of messaging is assigned to Task Launcher for better performance.
When keying this, the task menu screen is loaded and the cursor is pointed on messaging button.
Note 4: Regedit (the one part of task manager) and Total Commander are assigned in the known inside hard keys.
Note 5: As you already noticed all screens (initial splash, windows welcome and AutoRun) are redesigned as well as
the Mobile_Vista.tsk theme, the Comm Manager, the Phone, the Long Key press, the Audio Manager and the Sreaming Media player.
Note 6: The three in one Today Plug-in, WiFi - Phone - Bluetooth, is revealed and reporting the status of the three items
as well as by tap on it you have the short communication manager.
Note 7: Internet explorer has two new home screens.
The first has help, IE Home, HTC Home and Xda Developers.
If you tap on IE Home the well known but never shown on TyTN II and may me in other htc devices, is seen.
When you tap on menu>tools>options you can set the current, IE home as home page.
You can always go back to the first page from menu>tools>options and setting use default.
Note 8: The well known SRS WOW HD driver is in the rom as package for enhanced HD sound.
Note 9: The bottom screen plug-in has six small buttons where from left to right you can have:
- The green for on off the phone
- The Gps ephemeris activation
- The memory
- The bluetooth
- The Icon only for battery charge view. For the settings there is the top bar battery button.
- The screen rotation button.
- If Battery Status Today plugin is activated more small buttons are installed. Battery staus is in beta.
Note10: Including to Tom Tom 6 navigator there is Visual GPSce application for Sirf or NMEA protocol with
plenty of screens for almost any gps info. The bottom right flashing icon is green when fix is made
and can be blue when differential gps signal is received, depending on differential satellites found.
Note11: The S2U2 is started automatically and is redesigned.
From Start>Programs>Apps>S2u2 Settings you can set up S2U2 and then tap on S2U2 to run it.
Note12: From Start>Programs>Apps you can test D3D drivers that can achive from 53 up to 57 fps.
There are five apps as D3DMdemo, Dllchecker, Lights, Text3D and Triangle.
In order to stop Triangle just tap on the screen area and see the fps screen.
Tap on ok to close it.
Finally due to Touchflo as a package inside the rom the HTC Home is disabled, but you can use all other Today Items if Touchflo is disabled.
There many other apps in rom and Total User Customization in order your valuable TyTN II to outperform !
D. Rom Structure
For the Rom Structure see next post.
Till next version enjoy!!!

Been using it for over a day now and it is great, So many features, explored it for two hrs last night and more tonight. Fast and smooth and no freezes thus far. Usually when I try a new custom rom, I put a soft reset short cut front and center, but haven't had to use it yet.
A couple of things ,
On the slide to unlock screen, it shows that I have a unlooked at SMS. I loked at all my SMS's but the pop up is still there. The email one dissappears fine but not the SMS pop up. Why and how do I get rid of it.
In the contact manager, I can't edit my contact names. I can edit the numbers, just not the names.
So many features and not enough time to explore.Excellent rom, I really like it Thanks
Oh by the way, love the rom theme, but I get restless for new looks, Will M2DC work with this rom. M2D, HTC Today, rlToday, I will never get any work done, I will be customizing 24/7:D

I have one issue, when I have the bluetooth connected, for some reason there is no longer any sound coming from the phone. Even if I turn off the bluetooth headset, there is no sound coming from the phone (cant hear caller talking); unless I use the headset again and the sound is working fine on the headset. So I have to reboot the phone to get the sound back.
Other than that manilla is annoying, I usually just turn it off. Oh and HTC Home in the Today's setting, never actually shows up on the Today screen. It creates the spacing for it but nothing is there in that area, just blank.

I have O2 stellar and the handset picks up the phone network but then drops it again seconds later. It keeps doing this. Whether I use automatic or manual network selection - can you help as this is the first 6.1 version I have found where the keyboard works correctly and I don't want to go back?

Ansar... I flashed your Roms before and was impressed with stability and creativity, however, the custom splash screens you have along with the ROM signature thats embedded on most pages would deter lots of people from using and appreciating your ROMs... like myself, most people want nothing to do with a ROM that makes their devices looking like a Chinese counterfeit. Your Splash screens give that impression.
I know how to customize the Rom's splash to my liking, but if you have read many of your thread participants, they are mostly new comers to XDA.
I recommend highly to you to introduce your Roms with as close as possible to OEM look but with the Ansar great performance.
Just my 2 cents...

Hi,
You should change the radio that you are using right now with the rom.
Usually a radio that is designed for your country, included in the htc rom for your country, is the most appropriate one.

asfoor is probably right, no offense but I didn't care much for the splash screens either, but it wasn't enough to deter me from this great rom. Customized it to my favorite theme with M2DC and still setting up and enjoying this rom.
Oh Oh. Phone just went to sleep as normal and now will not wake up. Soft reset fixed it, but I will try to re create it and report back.

Hi,
In manila sms screen we just see and roll messages.
In order a message to be removed from the unread list we go to the inbox and tap on the message to see it.
From contacts menu with edit option i edit the names too.
In a next version, although M2DC is not a small one i may provide it as a package in the rom.
Thanks for commenting and supporting.

Slow at work so I have a lot of time to play with new rom.
Could not recreate the " no wake up from sleep " again. Went to sleep and woke up fine for the rest of the day.
On the slide to unlock screen, it shows that I have a unlooked at SMS. I loked at all my SMS's but the pop up is still there. The email one dissappears fine but not the SMS pop up. Why and how do I get rid of it.
The "orphaned " sms icon on the S2SU screen was voicemail, so all is good. Day 2, no major freezes or problems. Looks like a keeper.

Thanks for your advice - any idea how I get a version of the radio that will work, I am in Indonesia? Do I just install it or do I need to flash the ROM wiothout radio to my device first?
you can flash radio only, just download the radio and flash that.

Hi Tony,
I have the same problem and i have to soft reset the phone to listen back the phone sound or caller on bluetooth.
Did you find any solution to this or Ansar, do you know any fix for this problem ?
I have one issue, when I have the bluetooth connected, for some reason there is no longer any sound coming from the phone. Even if I turn off the bluetooth headset, there is no sound coming from the phone (cant hear caller talking); unless I use the headset again and the sound is working fine on the headset. So I have to reboot the phone to get the sound back.
Other than that manilla is annoying, I usually just turn it off. Oh and HTC Home in the Today's setting, never actually shows up on the Today screen. It creates the spacing for it but nothing is there in that area, just blank.

Nice ROM. I haven't been around for a good while, so I'm trying to figure out my way around again. After installing, have one issue for which I haven't seen an answer (I did search.) -> Using AT&T Tilt, most communications seem fine - keyboard is fine - most everything loads up great. However, after setting up mail (private internet provider), I cannot seem to pick up mail. I receive error "Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings." Tried setting up GMAIL account - had same result (no joy). Since I can browse the internet, Google Maps works, et cetera, I'm a little confused. Can you help? (BTW: I did go through the Provider selection in order to set up the comm originally. Did it again just for grins, but with similar result.)

For whatever reason the connections wizard does not configure correctly. Go to settings>connections>connections> under Media net > set up proxy server>check network connects to internet>uncheck network uses proxy server.
Go back, under Media Net > Manage existing connections>modem>edit
Name for connection, put Media Net tap next > access port name > wap.cingular. tap next> tap finish. Everything should work

I have had the same problem, off and on, in every 6.1 rom I have tried. I am fairly sure it is WM 6.1 at fault, I know it is not the rom. I think it has something to do with the 6.1 bluetooth stack.
Finally due to Touchflo as a package inside the rom the HTC Home is disabled, but you can use all other Today Items if Touchflo is disabled.
I personally think that Manila is the best interface I have used.:)

... like myself, most people want nothing to do with a ROM that makes their devices looking like a Chinese counterfeit. Your Splash screens give that impression.
I know how to customize the Rom's splash to my liking, but if you have read many of your thread participants, they are mostly new comers to XDA.
Hi, asfoor:
I am inclined to agree, but I can tolerate a lot of this - especially the boot splash, which (hopefully) will only be seen by me anyway. The troublesome one is what I believe you've referred to as the "rom signature." The one I mean has (mostly) unobtrusive image, with text on the bottom right. Some screens such as the Today screen itself are obscured by that text. Also the Start Menu (for example Start / Settings / System / More). I'm all for ansar receiving credit for his hard work, but this is just in the way.
I thought it might help to change the Theme on Today, but no help there.
Is this something that's easily negotiated? Can it be done (Should it be done) to the ROM image itself before loading onto the phone?

Just download Manila 2d Customizer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392 and customize your screens here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425974.
It would be a shame for people to be turned off such a good rom by differing tastes in themes

I had done what denco7 had also done and changed the theme altogether. i like the ROM a lot and I think it is one of the best ROMs out there. That being said, I feel Ansar is missing out on more $$ contributers and donors for his efforts from people that deem ROM presentation and first impression are musts. Some ROM flashers do not have the experience to alter or customize the ROM they flash, hence get scared or uncomfortable to flash a ROM and try it out if the initial impression is NOT appealing.
Ansar has been cooking ROMs for quite some time now but when you look at his posters count you will notice he has one of the lowest thread participants.
I for one do not find an image of someone's face an appealing splash screen on my phone, have be a woman's or a man's face. NOT professional at all. Second issue, we all know that the ROM creator info is on the device info so, there is really no need to advertise further.
I bet you anything if Ansar changes the splash screen to those AT&T OEM or HTC OEM he will attract the majority of the XDA visitors, especially when those people download and experience what a great ROM should act like.
In essence it is a marketing idea, and please Ansar do not take as an insult, because it is not. Usually a positive critique is a sign that those who do it, do really care.
Good luck.

My theme has worked fine with no errors. All iI can suggest is to download and apply another theme and see if it presents the same problem. Which M2DC did you install ? the brand new version ? If this happens in all the themes you try, try downloading an older version of M2DC, It could be the new version.
Edit 1:Decided to download the new M2DC (which I was going to do anyway) and downloaded your theme (MobileMatt's Blue Sketch) to see if I could recreate your problem. Have had it on for 3 hrs with no problems. I will let you know after a day or so.

Thanks for your reply, denco7. I used version M2DC_v0.28.233. I really appreciate your advice, and will follow suit as soon as I learn how I can reproduce this issue. Strangely, it happened several times yesterday (after equally several soft resets), and I cannot seem to find the combination today to make it recur. This is reminiscent of taking a child to see the doctor. I'll go get an older version of M2DC and your theme, so that I'll be ready.

Have had M2DC and your theme on since last evening, used the phone a lot last night and this morning and have had no re-creation of your problems.
Could also have just been a bad flash, when for wharever reason the files do not load properly ( it happens ) and a re-flash solves the problem.

Big Up Yourself!
Dear Ansar,
This ROM is really great, but the bluetooth... so, I write my story and I hope I can help you with this:
Former, I used original Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM without bluetooth problems, but that was slowly, and the other problems... You know...
I have Nokia bluetooth hands free kit in my car, and in this /Sea Dragon/ ROM I can not use, beacuse when I disconnected from the hands free kit, I can not hear my callers.
This problem is keeping when I start the calling, and when I receiving callings too.
The first time when I met with this situation my boss called me, I pressed the green button, and I have seen the caller duration is on, but I do not hear nothing. I pressed the green button again, and the phone freezed... I must restart to solving the problem. After the restart the phone was good until when I used my bluetooth hands free. The problem is keeping when I use the hands free kit or just connected to the device.
And just one small thing with this ROM: In the regional settings I can not find Hungarian. I am Hungarian guy, and I would like see my nice settings.
Ansar, You are really great, and I really hopeYou can solving this problems.
Big Up the herbal tee!!! Jah, Rastafara!

This ROM is really great, but the bluetooth...
I have to agree about the great ROM, and may have additional information about the bluetooth. I have purchased and installed M$ Voice Command on the system. It seems to work well, except when using Bluetooth. With Bluetooth, I get exactly one use of MSVC before MSVC stops working and all function of the device locks up. I'll try the AT&T radio - assuming I can find that on this site somewhere - and then I'll report back.
Oh one last thing there is something wrong in the dialing page i will post a screen capture for it here it is:

I also agree this is a fantastic rom, but I'm also having the issue with the dialing page and a similar bluetooth issue. If I voice dial from the phone directly I also have no issues. If I dial from the phone with the headset connected I have no issues with that call, but the sound doesn't return to the phone after the call ends. If I voice dial with bluetooth, it stops sending the sound to the headset after dialing, but does not return to the phone either.

I have had the same problem you describe with bluetooth and MSVC not playing nice in every 6.1 rom I have tried. OEM, HD III and now this one. I am sure that it has something to do with the new bluetooth stacks that M$ put in WM 6.1. Has anyone else used a 6.1 rom where bluetooth and MSVC worked well togther ?

Also , you can turn off the analog clock in M2DC but then your digital clock will all pile to the right. It is a quirk of Manila, the digital clock can be turned off and leave the analog on, but not visa versa.
I remember coming across a detailed registry fix for this one time, but I forget where. I takes some substantial messing with the registry.

hey ansar, really nice rom...
i flashed it yesterday and honsestly i have not strayed away from a certain rom series (which i will not mention) in a long time...
at first, i felt so lost coz im not used to some of the applications used in this rom or the way it is organized. After a while though, i got used to it.
man!!! is ur rom loaded or what! i have never flashed a rom with so many pre-cooked today themes or applications but i am really loving it. good job!!!
as for some of the guys here mentioning the splash screen and the signatures not being to their liking....aren't u being a bit harsh? somebody called it making the phone look like "a cheap Chinese knock-off device"??
ok maybe some ppl like their devices more classic looking but i mean is it a big deal if the girl from startrack shows up while booting?!?!? does that make you look bad in any way? I ACTUALLY WELCOME THE CHANGE! and he has the right to cook his "name" in as much as he wants! he cooked this rom didnt he? it's his hard work.
it was really nice to use quick menu again coz its been a looong time since i've seen it lol.

Well, sometimes such things are symtoms of a larger problem. If the original images placed in the ROM by ansar exhibit that problem, then so be it - I don't care either. But if the problem is a result of something overwriting the images after they were placed into the ROM - the cooked or the phone copy - then possibly this is visual evidence of a larger problem. In eithr case, I think it's important that the chef be made aware of it.
Is there any advice about the blankness at the top right, where signal strength et cetera belong? This is a persistent problem for me.

... and he has the right to cook his "name" in as much as he wants! he cooked this rom didnt he? it's his hard work.
Well... yes and no. If you are saying that Ansar wrote the code that has been incorporated into the ROM, that he designed the phone hardware, the look and feel, that he created all the images, that he decided how the software should be organized and what functions should be available, that he created the idea for the Manila interface and the ability to syncrhonize all this with the desktop or laptop - and then coded and implemented it - et cetera et cetera, then yes, he is welcome to come here to my home and write his name all over my phones in indelible ink!
If, on the other hand, he took stuff other people have done, and organized it into a tool that makes my life easier and more pleasant (and I believe this to be the case), then I'd prefer that he put his name on some About screen like the rest of those who took part in this massive entity, and let the rest of us be able to see text that's important to us - such as the last several characters of a phone number in an appointment... or the Radio version number ... or countless other important pieces of information.
Don't get me wrong. I've no intention of taking credit away from ansar's TREMENDOUS work!

Press and hold on the top right corner. The WM task menu will pop down, tap settings for, and on the next menu check "hide always." That should hide the tasks in your top bar upon closing of the tasks.

Did that (except that I did it by tap/holding on the box you see between the start icon and the 3G in the image I supplied above). It seemed to help for a while (and in fact that box has not returned). But then I went to Messages, then let the phone time out, and then slid the S2U2 slider, I have the same issue. If I tap and hold the top right corner now, I usually get volume settings. But on occasion I will be able to select "settings for..." but the "Hide Always" checkmark is already checked, of course.
Other ideas?

The bootsplash screens are written into the rom. Not every rom comes with a bootsplash screen. If you do not flash a rom with a new bootsplash screen, quite often the screen from a previous rom remains on your screen.
You can just live with this bootsplash screen, or flash another rom that includes a bootsplash screen.
Or finally, go here and flash your own bootsplash screen

Hello ansar The new rom looks great going to do it today my question does the SDConfig.txt only open the Caps that come with your new rom or will it open all the other caps on my SD card too??.Thank you
Hi,
Only the *.cab that are included in the SDConfig.txt .
Personal cab can always installed by a double click on the cab.

Love the ROM Ansar, props to you for one of the best ROMs to date...
I just have the same issue another guy has mentioned, how do we remove the analog clock or the alarm line without causing the digital clock to be all screwy?
For anyone who is interested, I installed the MBarvianOpal_PhoneCanvas.cab, this is unrelated to the clock issue, but add to the functions of this rom in my thought process. The new dialer keeps me from muting, turning on speaker phone, opening notes or contacts while in a call. It has a slider function that keeps my ear from pushing buttons... It will also fix the graphics issue that other members have discussed previously.

I just have the same issue another guy has mentioned, how do we remove the analog clock or the alarm line without causing the digital clock to be all screwy?
Also , you can turn off the analog clock in M2DC but then your digital clock will all pile to the right. It is a quirk of Manila, the digital clock can be turned off and leave the analog on, but not visa versa.
mpenguin has been working hard to fix this glitch in the xml code of Manila., and thought he had, but the fix is not working.

I found two bugs, something annoying ........
1. When this loading by usb, when receiving a call and respond, Kaiser
entered into a mode that you can not hear anything, nor hear me .......
I have to restart the Kaiser ............
2. As I go with the handsfree in the car, make a call does not sound anything or nothing ringtone ----- and when the other person takes my call, it takes a few seconds wondering if you tell me? / / If it's like tell me ?........ then connect via bluetooth.
I am also going to receive calls .........
Neither of these things before I went, the Bluetooth worked OK.
Moreover ROM a lot of work .......... I hope the solution has two problems ............ they are uncomfortable to work

Haha sorry I got my posts crossed, meant to answer " call me baby's " question.
The background of the start menu changes when you change your today screen. ( your non manila today screen ) I have not yet found a way to change the background of the quick menu screen, it appears to be written into the rom.
I will look around or maybe ansar has an answer?

Okay, open your quick menu,( press the windows emblem ), go down and press Quick Menu, then go down and press option then press the view tab. Go down to background and this gives you the options of setting it to
No background
Today background image
Or it will let you set a custom background image.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Landscape in native M2D is not working as it should, i.e. missing code and images, so we use rlToday as an alternative.
The lag (not turbo) is due to the switching between of large code.
Thanks for supporting.

That is what wktask does, shows you all your open programs so that you can keep track of what is open. You can disable it at startup in the preferences tab from the drop down menu.

I think that you should try to flash a different rom and check to see whether the problem persists. As I have stated in previous posts, I don't think that it is a problem with this rom, but a problem with the bluetooth stacks in WM 6.1.
The only way to check that is if you try a different rom. If you have the same problem, then you know it is not this rom.

The weather update should update the weather pictures to the right day. Auto matic update will connect and update everytime you open the weather tab.
You say you update every time you connect to AS, how do you do that ? And I am not quite sure what AS has to do with your ability to update the weather.

If i'm getting you correctly no as the Weather needs to be updated to allow the day to change, it's seperate than the device time\day as it's fetches the information from accuweather feed when you update to which tells it all the info including the day.

Hello ansar,
I do like your ROM, but touchflo is to slow for daily fast work. But I cannot disable touchflo. When I do in the today screen, after a reset, touchflo loads again and all my other settings are gone. Only touchflo is checked in the today item settings.
Second, when I choose HTC home, I don't see any buttons. Is there any regedit setting for disabling touchflo and enabling fully HTC home??

Touch Flo on my phone is very fast. I have had no trouble with M2D being laggy. It zips back and forth across tabs.
Did you install M2DC ? After I installed M2DC, I could no longer toggle between Manila2D and the today screen.
Finally due to Touchflo as a package inside the rom the HTC Home is disabled, but you can use all other Today Items if Touchflo is disabled.

It sounds like it could just be a bad flash and you might want to flash the rom again. I always choose to flash without the sim and SD card in, I have found less problems that way. Also remember to hard reset after the flash is complete, before set up.
You can try the keyboard fix first and see if that helps.

No, I have had none of those problems with this rom. The music tab works and shows my album art and song playing.
I have been getting the same radio reception that I have gotten with the stock and all the Hyperdragon roms I have used in the past. No better no worse.
WK task manager took some getting used to, and a bit of tweaking, using the hide always button on some programs, like manila , that are always running and you do not wish to see them constantly in the running programs window. I also down sized the task window as it was covering up some of my icons in my top bar. But that is just tweaking WK Task , it has nothing to do with the rom.
I have got to say that in the last month and a half, I have run into no bugs or freezes I haven't caused myself by experimenting with settings. It ha really been smooth sailing thus far.

And have had any problems because of it. I think that for every ten people that insist it is necessary, there are ten people who think it is a wasted step.
I think it is far more important to always do a hard reset after you flash, before the customizations start. That I have done after evry flash and have never had to reflash because of problems.

It is just that I can't think of what flashing back to a stock rom could or does do to your phone, that would " pave the way " for a smoother flash to a cooked rom. The only thing I can think of is that some chefs are a lot more thorough in there assembly and make sure that their rom erases all leftover files from a previous rom so that different files from different roms do not mix but other than that ?

Sounds like your Activesync connection keeps failling. Is your phone showing that you have an Activesync partnership ? Previous to flashing, have you had a problem maintaining an Activesync connection.
And finally, are you following all these steps, to the letter?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835
This is from the error codes list in the readme file
-> ERROR [262] : UPDATE ERROR
This error occurs during the CE ROM code upgrade process.
Solution: If this happens, you can just soft-reset the device and run RUU again. The update process will then continue.
Note: At this stage, the Wince is destroyed; instead, it is in upgrade mode.

Hi guys,
after solving my problem with the localization I found a new problem.
There is a process called MortScript.exe running in the backgroung and killing my pattery (I lost 50% of my battery over night).
Does anybody know what it does and how to solve is problem?
For now I have killed this process

Touch Flo on my phone is very fast. I have had no trouble with M2D being laggy. It zips back and forth across tabs.
Did you install M2DC ? After I installed M2DC, I could no longer toggle between Manila2D and the today screen.
in ansar's release notes on the first page.
I did a hard reset, and after that and customizing m2d, i did not have any difficulty. I cannot go back to today, nor can I disable M2D. But it works fine now.

For whatever reason, once you download M2DC and customize M2D, you can no longer turn off Touch Flo and toggle back and forth. I don't remember being able to do that with HD III either. I think you have to use Second Today.

I was using Seadragon for a couple of days, but I had to replace it because when using my bluetooth, it was not acting correctly.
I got a few calls that I could not hear the person calling me, then I would try to drop the bluetooth and I still could not hear the other person.
Bluetooth is not a problem that I've had with other roms so I just want to know if I'm the only one that has had this problem.
Thank You

I don't use a bluetooth head set, so I couldn't say, but others have complained of the same problem. But not just in this rom, in others too. Even the same complaints using HTC WM 6.1.
I have had the same problem with phone calls, but on the phone speaker, not bluetooth. But not with this rom.
I am interested, did switching roms fix the problem ?

Yes the problem with the Bluetooth went away with another ROM.
I will try Sea Dragon again to see if it was a one time thing.

That is too bad, because I really like this rom. I don't use bluetooth,so that is not an issue for me.
Haven't heard from ansar in a while ( busy with other projects I'm sure ) but maybe he can address this issue so that more people can enjoy this rom.

Hi Guys,
I installed this ROM and was quite happy with it until my Kaiser went to sleep. The moment it goes into sleep mode, it just gets stuck or locks up, and the only way to get it operational again is to do a soft reset.
Does anyone else experience this issue?

I have not experienced this issue, nor has anyone posted with this issue thus far. Try reflashing the rom, and remember to do a hard reset before the customizations.
If that doesn't help try flashing a different hardspl. I would try cmonex's 3.29 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420683

I don't think that Android is quite stable enough yet , for an everyday, not to worry rom. I do like this rom, but have had some minor problems with manila that I don't know if it is the rom or manila.

Hi,
I am sory for the delays to responce in your posts ...
In bluetooth i use a simple jabra bt135 and have no any issue.
Of course i assume you have already made a working pair between the devices.
Before connecting check in bluetooth settings\mode if the box of make this device visible is ticked.
Once again thanks for supporting. Downloads are more than 2000, my cordial thanks.

Hi,
If you use AT&T device check the following.
1. Connect with a propper usb in activesync successfully.
2. From Start\Settings\System\Power\Advanced tick and untick "When Device is ...".
3. Let it unticked and see if the issue is resolved.
Usually i set power to 1 minute, backlight to 10 sec and S2U2 as it is.

I tried the Shaps advanced configuration tool to switch to French keyboard but it didn't change anything. I trying to make some modification in the registry as advised in the wiki but registry keys don't correspond.

I have had this rom on since it was released, and while I have had trouble with Manila, it seems only after I download M2DC and start messing with new themes. It seems like after a couple of new themes, the Home settings xml gets corrupted or something. As long as I set a theme and leave it everything works fine.
Try re flashing the rom and make sure that you hard reset after the flash before customizations. Like I said, this rom has been nearly flawless for me.

cmonex's is a patched version that seems to help with phone freezes, phones that get stuck in bootloader, phones that need a forced USB connection. When I first HardSpl'd I used jockeyw' s and never had a reason to upgrade. Most people just flash cmonex to start.
Put your phone into bootloader, next to SPL it will say 3.29 Hard if it is jockeyw if it says 3.29 Hard2 , it is cmonex's

I reflashed it and.... it happened again. I then noticed that manila2d crashed for the first time whilst PIMBackup was restoring messages. So I reflashed again and this time I only restored contact and calls data and left messages out. It now works wonderfully. Just reckon why it crashes with PIMBackup and the never works again...
Anyway, thank you for your help! Keep up the good work ;)

Thanks in advance,

If you remove Manila2dLandscape.lnk from Windows\Startup, then remove Touch Flo from Today items, this will stop Touch Flo loading & removing your Today Items.

I had the previous version installed, but had to remove it. First, I had to remove s2u2 from system, otherwise I couldn't use Igo8. It just lock the device with gps in use. After that, a mounth l8r, started to crash with the device.exe constantly. I've then switched to athineOS that I was using till now.
This version so far is working ok. S2u2 is also working ok now.
The ansar's rom is the best collection of software available in my opinion, I just hope that it is stable enough for everyday use, I depend on the phone.
I've to see also if video call and bluetooth is working ok.

I agree about he software, he has a great mix of the programs I use most,,
S2U2 works great although I wish there was a way to toggle it on and off.The highest setting is 60 sec. and then the lock kicks in, I have found myself disabling it altogether.
This version is quite stable, I have had no stability problems with it. Only problem is, many people have had bluetooth problems. I don't use bluetooth headset, so of course I couldn't say.

Well, I was just about to complain about that!
I've tested my bluetooth and it's not ok. It works, but has an annoying problem.
If you in a middle of a conversation disconnect the headset, the audio doesn't pass to the phone has it should. And also, you then don't have a way to disconnect the headset on the phone software! The headset stays there until you soft reset the terminal. Next time I'll try to go to menus and disconnect there first to see what happens.
This time I've disconnected on propose, but probably, if you go out of power on the headset, the same will happen....
Ansar, can you check this out please?

Ansar,
Not a bad rom so far, just loaded it the other night. Had the keyboard issue on my tilt, but was able to fix that through search, but have a couple issues still. First, I can't seem to disable Touch Flo -- I deleted the .lnk file for manila from the /windows/startup folder, but after soft reset, it still loads touch flo. Second, in my Contacts, when I tap the letter sections above the list to skip to a certain letter group, it automatically skips to the last entry. Tapping the first block takes me back to the first entry, but any other block takes me to the end. The system also seems to run slower than my wm6.0 factory rom that I upgraded from. Switching screens seems to lag more, text messaging, and accessing large folders -- going into the Windows folder through File Exploerer takes about 2min. or so to show the files. Any way I can fix these issues and speed this bad boy up? This is the first flash I've done, so not really sure what else is out there yet. Thanks,
- Justin
**Edit** Nevermind about the TouchFlo thing, I went back and reread the post...forgot a step...lol!

Hi all,
First of my compliments on this rom, It is a really good one with lots of functions and software in it.
Now for the problem:
I saw that 2 other people had similar problems at one point that once the device goes to sleep you can not wake it up again until you reset it.
It seems that the others did not have the problem again after that. For me it keeps coming back even after trying to reflash the rom several times just in case.
I did manage to find out where the problem seems to be coming from, but that does not really solve the issue for me. If i have the acvanced network features turned on in the "usb to pc" section there is no problem. If i turn that feature of which i need to do to be able to connect to my laptop, the problem arrives again.
Rather annoying have to switch between those 2 settings every time i want to sync my device and even worse if i forget because then i have to soft reset again.
Has anybody else had this problem and did you find a better way to solve it?

This was a really great rom that I used for a long while, full of many good programs and features,
Ansar is an excellent chef, who really knows what he is doing. Unfortunately, as with any rom pieced together from parts, there are going to be some quirks and conflicts. The Opal M2D was quirky and did not work with all themes and configurations. The blue tooth stack needed to be improved, And apparently , although I never exprienced it, there was a resume from sleep problem.
And again, unfortunately, Ansar choose never to address these problems or issue updates or maintain the rom in any way. He relesed the rom in Jan, it is now June, and he has never released even one fix or update, which is too bad, because Ansar is a very, very good chef and this rom had the potential to be one of the best.

So what rom are you using these days?

lol i never was good at reading the small print, thanks for that. I found that rom as well and was wondering how good it was before i start reflashing my phone.
I guess i will be downloading some of the app from this rom before i start flashing again, since there is a lot of good stuff in there.

Finally i have found the right ROM. I tried nearly all of them, from 6.5 to 6.1. I said ok, let's try this one then i'm returning to 6.5, but this ROM is awesome. Fast, lots of programs, very stable, all together: I LOVE IT!
But i don't know if i flashed it correctly. I only launched the RUU, didn't unrar anything..
But still, great ROM. Hands down!

Great rom, good array of programs good smooth rom. I used it for months.
Has reported bluetooth problems, although Ansar said it worked fine. I personally love this rom. Unfortunately Ansar does not actively support it or update it.
But by all means give it a try and let us know what you think.

This rom is outdated. You should try a newer one after you've tried this one.
And all of you who are on 6.5 should try flashing this to remember what life was like before 6.5. it will make you love the bugs in your 6.5 rom!

not everyone likes 6.5 although i cant use it on my kaiser as its broken, a flashaholic friend has stopped flashing and uses this rom, 6.1 is a lot more stable

I was told to post my problem in this thread since I have this ROM on my phone.
Anybody know how to fix this?
(original post)
I tried searching my issue but there was nothing I found relating to it...
Last couple of days I've had an annoying issues to say the least, while typing up a message or adding a note in my calendar, the typing will stop and I'm basically stuck staring at the static screen. The phone isn't frozen, since the cursor bar is still flashing where the input stopped responding, and I am able to call upon the windows taskbar/menu by pressing the windows logo on the keyboard. If I'm lucky I can also flip the keyboard back inside and the orientation will change if the phone is still somewhat responsive by that point.
Otherwise there isn't much I can do, except do a soft reset by shoving the stylus in the reset hole.
The problem seems to be localized within the calendar app or the text messaging app, because I'm able to switch to a different application if im quick enough, however trying to terminate the problematic calendar or messaging app, it won't shut down.
I hope my detailed description will produce an answer - I'd hate to have to go and flash a new rom and all that business because of this issue.
Thanks for reading.

Hi,
Take care of battery installation by ckecking if there are bents at contacts and use your charger in order to boost power supply.
I would like to thank you all for your downloading figures - more than 3800 -and to wish you a Happy New Year 2010.
As for other devices i will proceed to a WM6.5 OS 5.2.28005.5.5.0 rom for TyTN II / Kaiser too!!
Best regards, ansar.

Read everything and was ready to go. Got as far as starting the .exe on my pc all synched up. The tricolours came on and I waited. However I got an error and the progress abr went nowhere. Had to pull the battery and the recovery was susccessful.
It has made me wonder if I have underestood everything though. Does this need to have a HardSPL installed first in order to work as I note that it doesn't mention it in the instructions so I am assuming not.
However this could be an assumption that I know what I am doing and I do need to do this first.
I have not seen any definitve instructions what to do for that or where the files are if required - maybe it's like snow blindess (ROMBlindness) as I have been reading most of the day to build up the courage.
Any help appreciated
BTW looks great and can't wait to get rid of the Orange Branding now I have unlocked to T-mobile, however it runs really slow now since updating the settings. Am hoping this will sort it too. Once done will feedback further........
P>S. The error message given by the gui is Error 262 - tried three times now same result each time....

Any and all custom roms need Hardspl before you flash, the rom notes don't always say so because it is an understood given.
Just follow here and flash away

All done and dusted just lots of config to do to get it how I want. Thanks for the REALLY quick response denco7, nice one!:)
Liking it so far and has resolved the serious lag issues I was having.
Issues noted so far though are only minor and prbably resolvable (I just don't know how)
Using Opera Browser in Landscape mode with the keyboard open - when you begin to type it rotates to the opposite landscape view.
Upside down.
The OS alarms no longer work when set. The today screen shows it is off even though in the settings I have it set to go off. (Installed SPB Time for now)
Most concerning the GPRS connection doesn't seem to shut off when the app has finished - there was a setting in my old ROM to allow programs to connect when they needed and then disconnect. However it keeps remaining on, this can drain the battery and I am worried it is clocking up GPRS charges. Is there a setting to do this?
TOM TOM installed doesn't haveany maps and the free d/l one doesn't work - I have maps from my previous TOm Tom - any ideas?
Can anyone recommend software for the PC that will allow me to edit the contacts in full on the device when synched as it has duplicated all my old contacts from previous synchs - will allow me to delete and edit on the pc rather than the device and then keep the contacts on the phone as the overwriter.
Cheers everyone.....

Hi Ansar,
Been using the ROM for while now and was awesome initially. Once I put on SPB time.
For the last few weeks I have been having bother with it as it freezes regularly and I have to either wait 5 mins for it to seemingly debug or reboot.
Is there any app that can help diagnose what is causing this such as an event viewer like in Windows in general?
I really like this and don't want to have to change again. I have a feeling it is related to M2D but never used this before.
Cheers
Reloaded from a hard reboot and it is now working a treat! Thanks

I must say, This Rom is the most stable version of Roms I have used so far, As compared to WM 6.5 Roms this Rom has all the Beauty and compatibily.
* I love the Multi Tabs option on the Title bar, helps alot when muti tasking.
* Light and Clean with so less or no bugs so far.
* D3D works just fine as compared to the other Roms.
* Keyboard themes are the addition to the beauty of this Rom.
* Bluetooth share option alse works fine with no additional plugins required.
* Nice High Sensetive Touch Flo also works with great compatiblity.
* Due to the Light and Cleaness of the Rom, The Device works faster than the other 6.5 Roms.
* The Radio Included version is good as the In Call volume works great.
# Untill Now I found that the S2U2 doesn't work perfectly as it can be minimized when active. Device runs while Locked.
# The Start Menu When Tapped At the certain point opens as the old Original Rom's Menu.
Keep up the good work. I love this ROM!

Does anyone know what /where the setting is to get every program to close when you press the OK button. I have this set inthe wk task program and it doesn't work with most programs like the tasks and messaging windows, they just minimise.
Been brilliant since I resolved my freezing issues....

Damn it
Been working a treat but this is the 2nd or third time that it has just started locking up. When I launch programs and then try and do anything it is talking like 30 seconds to a minute to take each step. Initially thought it was down to transporter.exe maxing the cpu so killed it and it made no difference. Nothing is using large amounts of RAM and the cpu isn''t maxed.
I work in first line faults for a major hosting company diagnosing initial server faults so have a bit of an idea on how to troubleshoot. I can't figure this out though (Probably as I am not that familiar with the WM OS).
As you can see from the frum I reported this initially 14/4 and it happened @ 20/6 and then again 2 days ago so I am looking at about every 6 weeks.
I start geting debug error reports on M2D and then tmail.exe and a couple of others.
Can anyone suggest anyting as I really do like this ROM when it runs how it should do and don't particularly want to change unless I have to. I don't want to have to hard reset every 6 weeks though
