Same here. I seem to remember someone posting something about this during the alpha, but I couldn't find it. Maybe I hallucinated while waiting. :P
Also noticing that my touch screen seems to be reacting slower to clicks than it did before, or maybe it is just more picky about where I click now.

? Try resetting and trying again. It took a while (maybe 30 sec) to start but it did start on mine.
I forgot .net cf in the preview that is why advanced config won't open. It is fixed in a new build coming soon.

This is the last private preview. If you all report no show stoppers, the public will get it as the 3.0 release on Wednesday night US time.

mms is not showing in the messaging screen and when you press the sms icon it just gives the regular text option. Also still having the same issue with the windows media player and streaming from Di.fm. It connects and plays for a couple of seconds and media player just stops and closes. I have always used this with earlier builds.

Here's what I've noticed ... nothing major and just some nitpicks. It's a great release.
1. The positioning folder is empty and seems to be a dup in name of the GPS folder.
2. Attempting to change the backlit setting using the finger seems to change the tab. (Using the left / right button seems to be no issue when the slider has the focus.)
3. Opera 9.7 Beta 1 installs but won't run. (This was on the version with Java installed)

Turns out I didn't put mms into the rom. I forgot it. So in the release tomorrow night or Thursday, mms will be in there.

Parley, You had java in the last one and it did not work. I wasnt sure if you were going to put it back. I guess we can install ourselves. Opera-mini used java if I am not mistaken. You also had a gmail icon. I use gmail. Not sure what it might have done but just a thought. I also did not see windows update is it worth having or not. Also one of the previous you had a bunch of games, can you tell me where to get them or post on your 4shared....got to love pac-man and my son love the bubbles and the sand.

Love the Rom,
Just did a quick test, didn't find any problems.
well, there is the GPS and Positioning folder in the startmenu, as already mentioned. and Chess crashes when I try to click "settings".
I tested gps, and it took me about 2 minutes to get a fix, while walking outside, so maybe quickgps is better than quickposition? just a thought..
oh, and somehow I prefer S2U2 over the lock device function in use now,
but thats just because it's configurable and has password protection, which makes sure I don't unlock my device in my pocket.

please check bt headset functionality please.

There is a Java cab with Opera Mini and Gmail on PDC for d/l. All officially supported (tested) addons/includes will be listed there.

Good to hear :). Everyone should not that since this is 6.5 ROM there are likely to be several programs and software packages that don't work properly, or at all. That's why there is a "request" and "resources" area on PDC. While we will try to help everyone here on XDA only things we post on the PDC will be confirmed to work properly and will get preferential treatment for debugging. As 6.5 becomes more stable and is widely adopted (keep in mind there is still no "official" ROMs for the Kaiser or most other phones) these problems should disappear (but this is M$) ).

The rom crashed and burned for me. Seemed to be a problem with the FS.
I installed it last night and i installed the drivers for opera, opera, the tilt keyboard fix, the keyboard speed cab, and the newest version of google maps.
I did not flash a stock rom, but i never do and i've flashed about 8 of josh's 6.5 roms.
I did do a hard reset.

We ask everyone to flash stock for a reason... it is the only way to make sure everything is cleared from other "cooked" ROMs and gives a stable base for our ROM to be installed over. This also helps use determine if it's a problem with our ROM or your flash... Seeing as no-one else has had this issue....
1-Flash stock ROM
2-Don't install "keyboard speed fix"... there's a reason it's not on PDC, it's NOT needed, the keyboard works flawlessly w/o it... (do still install the keyboard fix, which is appropriately on PDC)

You don't need the speed cab. that fix is in the rom. all you need is the drivers for opera. Also, i only support using the version of google maps that I have tested...it is in the rom and is only a month or so old. So you shouldn't need to install that either.

I can't believe how fast this ROM is, you did an Amazing job. Thanks for all your effort.
A few questions and notes.
1) I did install the stock ROM first as instructed but I had to install the Tilt Keyboard Fix to straiten out a few function characters.
2)In previous ROMs the PTT button opened a Voice Recorder with the Sprint walkie talkie type sound. Is there a way for me to have that functionality on a long hold of PTT? I tried mapping it to Voice Recorder but that just opens the Voice Recorder and doesn't actually start recording.
3) I'm also having a problem adding the contacts from my SIM to Contacts. I copied them to my phone with SIM Manager but they don't show up in Contacts although SIM Manger says they're there to be deleted.
4) I have T-Mobile in Illinois and when I let it automatically setup my connection it configured access point to epc.tmobile.com. It has always configured wap.voicestream.com in the past. The data connection works but does anyone know what the difference is?
Any help on the PTT Button and getting SIM Contacts to show up in All Contacts would be appreciated.

whoa ! this is really out of this place !
ive only used it for an hour now, i noticed that installing the carrier settings affetcs the speed when your swiping your finger across the manilla tabs
im talking about the app that comes up when you hard reset your device and promts you to install the connection setting for your carrier.
seems if you dont install the settings the speed is much faster on the manila tabs
ok ive been going crazy on this for the past two days, after flashing with stock, HRting a couple of time...
i can confirm that the speed lag is not due to the instalation of those settings
tried turining wirless and the phone off ...did alot of fitdgeting .....but nothing came out
.....yet the issue went away after i left the device for a couple of hours...maybe it was busy doing something?
....since no one is reporting this im guessing its something specific to my device.
ok now i can use my device in peace :D

1--you were right to install the tilt keyboard fix...that is the first thing to install since we build for all kaisers..so we don't include that fix.
2--i'll check into that--i have it programmed to open voice command on short press and setvol on long press...you should be able to use that button to start the recorder. I'll get the settings tomorrow and make you a cab.
3--I'll check this out. Have you noticed that the connectionsetup copies the contacts from the sim card? Have you tried looking in contacts before using sim manager? Just curious because when I check the contacts have been copied.
4--epc.tmobile.com is the new access point and does not require a proxy. It works well. I too have one tmobile and use it all the time.

Some more detail about the Contacts issue. I checked contacts before trying to copy from SIM and it was empty. I also tried installing the HTC SIM Manager but the same thing happens. The only way I see the contacts that have been copied to the phone from the SIM is, in phone mode by clicking the little phone icon to minimize the keypad and they show up below the call history. So they are in the phone somewhere but do not show up in all Contacts.
Thanks for your help and the info about epc.tmobile.com too. I hadn't heard about it. I can use the Weather Gadget and Quick Position now.

Awesome ROM you guys, great job. Everything has been smooth so far. Speed is great, graphics are just sweet and nothing has been buggy for me so far. Only thing is just the first time I flashed with the stock rom and the phoenix III, the sliding through tabs etc was a bit slow and buggy, but i just reflashed again and now it's all good. Yes, search for disable T9 (you can probably find it in this thread)
Also, we don't officially support Phoenix II anymore. Time to move up methinks (our 6.5 build is argubly faster than this 6.1 build)
