[SOLVED] Disk Drive Mode with Xbox

With the new 2.03 official ROMs Xbox 360 no longer recognizes the Diamond in disk drive mode.



SOLVED: I finally figured it out! The issue has to do with the asyncmac.dll file so I created a CAB with a fixed version. Let me know if it doesn't work for anyone (worked for me!).

Hi

Try this: Start --> Settings --> Connections Tab --> USB to PC --> Untick "Enable advanced network functionality" and ensure the "Disk Drive (Faster file transfer)" is ticked/marked.
Leave the Ask about connection type ticked if you frequently connect your Diamond to your PC for activesync features.

Thanks for your suggestion. I've already tried this but it doesn't make a difference unfortunately. I've also tried replacing the USBToPCPopup package with older versions but this also has no effect. Any other suggestions?

Ive been going through the same s¨*t, xb360 wont recog my Diamond.

With the 2.03 official ROMs my X360 no longer recognizes my diamond in disk drive mode. I never had this problem with 2.00 and older ROM versions.
Does anyone know all the files involved with using the disk drive mode?

I've already tried replacing these files with older versions but with no success:

SDHC.dll
SerialUSBFn.dll
msm7500usbfnhs.dll

Hey Guys! NO you can't use your diamond or any external HDD as a memory card for the Xbox. The USB ports i have been informed are read only. I regularly connect my htc to the xbox and it doesn't allow you to save to it.

The core comes with a 20GB if its old or a 60GB if its new!

The Core pack actually got replaced by the Arcade pack and it includes a 256MO memory card not a hard drive. The hard drives only come with the Premium and Elite packs.

Same its definitely a ROM issue.

I tried this but it made no difference. I'm guessing WM5torage accesses the USB for disk drive mode the same way HTC's USBtoPC app does...

HEY!! it worked ausomeee!! thanks alot! just a little curious as to why it didn't work on the xbox b4 the fix? doesn't the xbox treat it like any other external hardisk?

Glad it worked! I'm not sure exactly why xbox was being so picky about recognizing the drive. There were some changes to the asyncmac.dll file built from the S00* files in the 2.03 ROM which caused the problem, so I used the original pre-built file instead (which was identical to previous ROM versions anyway).

That CAB file didnt do the job...it even reset after installing but I still have to manually select the setting through menu-settings-connections-usb to pc so that it recognizes what I'm looking to do.

Official French HTC 2.03 ROM.
All works as before on the pc but can't get it recognized by the console (the .cab didn't do anything for me).
