Hi folks,
since a few days I can't adjust backlight brightness any more. Sticks to lowest. Makes my device unusable outdoor. I can change brightness value by software - but nothing happens. On external power changing brightness is working.
rom: michyprima clean
thanks for your help

Same Problem before 6 weeks ... re-flashing ROM ... restore backup.
No determination, what causes this problem. Registry was ok.

Have identical problems since this morning. Started out of the blue and no installations done the last week.
All situations described are in internal power mode. External power mode is not affected.
Switching off and on did bring up the backlight several times but pushing any button or touching the screen dimmed the backlight again and left in uncontrollable. In other cases the backlight just dimmed after zero to a few seconds.
Performed backup and cleared memory (factory settings): back to normal operation: backlight controllable
Restored backup (SBP 2.0.1) and the problem is there again.
I am suspecting the registry somehow but do not know where to look
Any ideas?

The findings of the tests described, made me dive into the registry and I found that somehow a entry was altered causing the described behaviour:
\\HKCU\ControlPanel\BackLight\OnOffBatt was aparently changed from 1 to 0.
Changing it back to 1 solved the issue.

You saved me so much aggravation with this fix! I've tried everything else, even hard resetting my device, but you fixed it!
Thanks 1000x!!!!
