Hi!

I am living in Mexico and especially as a foreigner it is very easy to get lost here.
So I am looking for a GPS navigation software for my new HTC Touch HD with street level maps for Puebla and other major cities in this country. Buying a seperate device just for GPS (like from Garmin) is not an option.

I did some web search with very confusing results:confused:. One product I found was Garming XT which is a no go for me since - as far as I understood - it only works with the provided SD card and I do not want to touch the battery cover every time I need swich the card for running the application:(.

Destinator 7 seems to have a new 2008 streetmap of Mexico but I have not found a store where to buy it - just some crappy mexican internet sites which don't look very professional and trustworty. There are also some reports of a version 8 of the software but no place to buy it.

It's unbelieveable but Mexico seems to be one of the last white spots on earth regarding GPS street level maps.

Can somebody who has more experience with this GPS stuff help me out with ideas, suggestions and/or probably links to serious stores, please?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I can't help out, but I'm looking for similar for our trip across Mexico at the end of this year.

Tomtom have just released their MExico Map

XT does have the provision to show (MapQuest?) maps of Mexico, but you can buy it as a download (I'm sure.)

If you find anything else, let me know!

Buena Suerte!
