Lock Touchscreen. Loudspeaker?

There's this option on my treo pro, that if enabled, will lock the touchscreen while I'm in a call. That stops me from enabling the loudspeaker by pressing the button on the screen.

Is there a way to enable the loudspeaker while in a call, without using the touchscreen?

Of course there is;). While in a call and while the screen is locked, use the D-pad (Palm button) to navigate to the soft key of the speaker. Then confirm with the center button. With the D-pad, you can control all the softkeys while in call.
