View Full Version : sounds playing too fast

I'm having a problem with my Elf where shortly after each time I perform a soft reset, the sound will speed up. So ringtones, notification sounds, and music all are played a little faster and hence have a higher than normal pitch. Eventually it may return back to normal, but I haven't noticed a pattern as to what causes it to revert.

I recently flashed a new ROM, but the same phenomenon is occurring. Any thoughts? Anyone else having the same problem?

after using my ELFin for a few hours the sounds, music, ringtones and video start playing faster (pitched up). I did everything I could, reflash it, rom change, windows change, and nothing works. It is solved everytime I reset or if I plug and unplug the headphones.
Any suggestion or FIX?

Hmm...i don't have any of the above programs on mine, but we both have the same problem...could be something else.

Also, I noticed that when the device speeds up, it also drains the battery faster. As in a HELL OF A LOT faster...

No, I didn't. It was a separate thread that had then been merged by the mods.

(Sorry to be a troll - But can someone delete this and my previous one as I do not have this issue.)

Just a thought though, have any off you overclocked your devices?

Try to soft reset your device. Hopefully it should start paying sounds properly. You can also try using another player (nitrogen) for playing songs.

Hopefully one of the solutions should work. (Soft reset worked for me once)

You haven't listed everything about your device.

I asked this before to someone else: Is your device Overclocked?
If yes, what are your settings and what program are you using for this? (Homescreen++?)
What music player do you use?
What IPL/SPL?
What Rom?
What Radio?
What other applications are installed?
Does this happen straight after you install a fresh rom, or is it after you have installed/customised it to your liking?
Do you have an Elf, or an Elfin? (So I can accurately replicate the issues, I only have an elf though!)

I have an elf
Wat do you mean by overclocked?
In every player sound is fast. Whether it is audio manager, wmp or even nitrogen.
IPL/SPL: I have upgraded it once but i don't remember to which version, can you tell me how i can know that!
Rom: 2.20.707.1B WWE (Blue touch Rom v4.0)
Radio:3.34.90
It happens after i customize Rom according to my liking(not confirm though!)

To find IPL SPL you need to run dsixda's very useful device_info batch file. This will give all sorts of useful information.

What other applications do you have installed then? Are you able to check how it performs before you customise it all? (yes, I know this is asking for a hard reset which is a pain, but I am trying to see where the issue may be)

Overlocking - speeding up the speed that the CPU clock speed. (can also underclock it when not in use)

manisarao, Interesting, I'll have a play with installing that later and see if that gives my phone the issue. if it does - that's a little concerning.

gargashish0901, have you had any luck finding out your IPL and SPL yet? You can also boot into bootloader and it will show you there, and then just reset back into WinMO.

When you install those cab files, do they not force a reboot? Have you removed dotNet if installed on your device?

I have addressed the issue with the device_info.bat in the correct thread. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7563268&postcount=390)

Although to be honest, a little search on google would give you the answer you need. Search is your friend...

okay, and still, what other apps do you have installed. Provide a full listing, and please, get the device info to work - you need to install the dll and then it will work. It is very hard to try and help when a) I don't have a way to replicate this issue b) because I do not have the full information of your device setup.

Have you applied any registry tweaks as well? If so, what are they?

That includes what have you run in tweaks2k2, as I understand that would be changing the registry values.

As thats the case and I am clearly not going to be receiving more info then that. please, go through, take them off 1 by 1 and see if it solves your issue.

Try hard resetting your device - installing nothing, and then see what happens, does it start to play quickly then?
