Please don't just point fingers, as hosnarab has made clear, he is sorry for causing grief. I have been following this since this morning (when I should have been working!) and accept that more info and thanks should have been placed in the first post - but others have rectified this.

Thanks to the in-built screen capture, I was able to capture following pictures :)

Input methods: Block recognizer, keyboard, letter recognizer, ThaiG lite keyboard. So, not thumb-friendly..Also the ThaiG keyboard does not respond..can't type with it although the keyset is qwerty..
But plenty of space on main so can afford to install BJK keyboard or similar.

Connected to MS exchange server and all working - may be it was me but had problem with another copy of WM6.5 before.

Search for artemis USPL, works like a charm!
Don't forget to remove microSD card, sim card.

Hi,

This rom is really good, have it installed since last 8 hrs and still no major loss of battery. My mobiles battery from 100% has just come down to 83% with GPS usage for 30 minutes and 10minutes of call time. That is fantastic.

Only grouse that I have is that there is no way to convert the menu to the normal menu available with windows as I am not a very big fan of the bigger menu that is available and need the classic feel of the menu. Can some one help.

If your device has unlocked SPL, it should be shown as SPL 1.11.0000

Yes, maybe I should have been more precisely.
With the statement "Before I tried to flash all the 3 roms from Dhee without any problems" I meant that I have flashed my mobile several times before.

I changed to WM 6.1 months ago and even cooked my own 6.1 Roms, designed my own HomeScreens and tried this and that.

Yesterday I started with WM6.5 Roms and had no problems with the normal, semi-light and light version of the Dhee roms. (Flashing without any problem).

But THIS rom made a few problems as I discriped above.

So, yes my SPL is 1.11.

(By the way, I even could't flash the WM6.1 rom from Abdul)

All the previous flashing had been done with Windows Vista 64 bit - no problem.

Now I decided to try XP and putted the Abdul Folder directly to c:\

That did the job for me!

I really don't have a clue why the other images went fine and this one did't with Vista but the filesizes of the flashing tools seem to be different. Maybe its an older Version Abdul is using ?!

I'am gonna tell you my impression and workarounds for this rom in a few minutes... so long...

Ok, first of all, this ROM is AWESOME!

GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi works fine and you are able to reach every point of setting or whatever without using the "start" button once. N1!

As you might remember, I am that Vista guy and kazooooom I had some synchronizing problems from outter hell :/

For Vista users, the first step should be to get the WMDC version 6.1.
If this still isn't working, on your mobile device go to
Settings -> connections -> USB to PC and clear "Enable advance network functionality)

At my device the free Ram is aroud 20-21Mb after clicking around, start and closing this and that. Seem to an appropriate value to me.

Using iGo8 work like a charm. Even without overclocking it is faster than on my WM 6.1. TouchFlo is automatically deactivated after starting iGo an might me restartet by one click after iGo is closed. Love it!

The thai keyboard isn't working at my device as well, this one really suxx :/
I hope the device will remind my keyboard change after reboot...

Unfortunately until now I could not remove some of the programs I really don't need or which are outdated.

I'm gonna write about some of the programs later on, first I have to do some Valentines day stuff ;)

By the way http://www.pdamobiz.com is a really nice site to pick some roms, but as an European guy, i really have some problems reading that forum. I was only able to discover some download links and even that wasn't always that easy. So long...

don't setup the "time & date" on the first boot screen..just click next.

some apps not updated but very good ROM.
IGO8 and TT7 runs fast and smooth.
touchflow fast and disable/enable automatically when IGO start.
I prefer 24 hours clock, but two clock are good

Are you using Vista? Try a pc with XP or maybe deactivate the Vista firewall.

For me, the XP version did the job, but afterwards I had a lot of problems synchronzing the pda with my Vista while XP works fine.

For my Vista, deaktivating the Firewall an mostly a Softreset just before a sync did the job. Annoying but worth it ;)

I do that too with vista or XP and it work all the time. But you must found one Rom who work :rolleyes:
Exemple: Take the rom folder WM6.5 of DHEE (all his rom work fine), replace only the nbh file of Abdul's rom in DHEE rom folder and run RUU. It will work, i did that just this morning :D

Looking very good, love this ROM! thai keyboard can be changed using the keyboard switch at the bottom of the screen - I could not change it in the input settings area.

Yes sometimes i have a little problem of synchron with vista but i never shutdown my computer so maybe it's that.. I disconnect and reconnect 2 or 3 times before synchron work or restart computer.

I have encountered the inability to access the Message tab on M2d also. This happened when I removed the People tab, using the customizer. I have put the People tab back again, and so far it works once again.

This rom is very quick and is so far the best 6.5 that I have tried.

This is a very good rom! It's flashed about 3 minutes, it's quick, i have 20-23mb ram it's feels faster then the touch 4.02. iGo8 works fine its loaded about 30sec without overclocking. there is a lot of usefull programs etc...

btw a question: can i use the battery status for overclocking because the m2d it isn't visible.

I flashed this rom twice (tried the 6.5 honey-comb in between) and both times I didn't have the above problems you have mentioned...
History works fine, can change input methods (yes, no transcriber - but I only use the keyboard, or install the BJK diamond keyboard) and don't use EDGE, so can't comment on that..

Call history incorrect happens also when you have the wrong date in your device. check date and time settings.

I faced the same issue, plus if clicked on SMS tab it hangs. Untill now I have tried all the available 6.5 ROMS but none of them i found stable so I am back on 6.1 release. Keeping my fingers crossed for the stable version to be used.

there's quite a lot of topics covering this one, mooch around the forum for a while and you'll find a few suggestions, including :

-Try an xp machine instead
- put your device into bootloader mode first before flashing
- try loading the XP activesync drivers into vista
- make sure you've USPL'd first

many other things to try....just search around a bit

and yeah, i remember the last time MS did this....they dint seem to get that this community is the appealing thing about these devices. I think the'yre probably worried about people giving negative feedback about it before its released, which is fair enough becuase it isn't meant to be run on devices that arent hardware accellerated (which is why we are all finding titanium etc a bit too slow)
Once the apple fanboys get hold of us lot saying "it runs too slow" they'll have a field day.
remember we still havent had final code or anything for this yet, and with every new rom getting a note on wmexperts etc it's probably harming their PR machine a little
it was the same thing on here when wm6 and 6.1 were released IIRC, then they went quiet until now

Took the plunge and used Htc Tool to recompile, this beta rom is the S**T. Even faster than some other wm6.1 roms ive tested in the past.

Ive had this rom on my phone for 10 hours now, magnifficent. Only problem I have so far is that when you access Icontact, the phone gets very slow, allmost unresponsive. A feature in the final release to remove Icontact through remove software would be nice, for those of us who prefer the normal contact program of windows mobile, just a suggestion. Thank you once again for this great rom. :)

Same happened to me, if the contacts are only on the sim card you need to copy it to your phone contacts. :)

Just been monitoring the battery drain on 3.21.90 it is the same. Never goes below 192mA. I think there could be a fault with radio.nb. Any chance you could share your version and while you are at it, update the out of date software :D

Same happened to me, if the contacts are only on the sim card you need to copy it to your phone contacts. :)

I will give 2.67.90 another shot but i am sure its definitely something to do with the rom not the gsm. I think it would be excellent if you can update the following
1. Replace S2P and S2V with the Audio Manager.
2. Somehow fix the issue with the account configuration issue which i mentioned earlier.

This ROM's great! Really stable and no battery drain issues so far (I'm using the latest radio upgrade: 3.39.90). Best I've had so far (only two official ROM's and B&B 4.0). One issue, not related to this ROM: my previous ROM was B&B 4.0. Even though I've flashed the DJ M2D ROM, it still shows the Black & Blue intro screen (right at the beginning, where you can also find radio/ipl version etc.) Is it possible to change it? I -of course- searched this forum, however, it seems only possible to change the second screen (which says 'Artemis club', often you can see the Windows Mobile 6 screen).

Install HomeScreen ++ or BatteryStatus. Anyway I have now found out what the culprit was. Its the messaging application. For those of us who schedule it to check emails over GPRS/EDGE automatically. The messaging application has flaws. First it doesnt let you reconfigure the account and secondly it checks every minute no matter what you specified in there. So the battery drains rapidly. I have now set it to manual and have lost 10% in one day.
I would appreciate if someone can look into this problem or share a cab to update the messaging application. Also if some one has ie8 cab then please share.

If you want to disable this too, please use the cab attached. you need to run the cab first to install. Then from programs run the "Virtual keyboards manager" and highlight Thai keyboard and click disable.

dont know if i'm stupid but i cant sync my emails trough exchange server anymore.

all calendar and notes or so are synced but not email is downloaded.
all folders in my email folder are downloaded too. no message anymore.
i even can send emails out. i changed the past of downloading message up to 1 month and changed all things aroung nothing happens.

i even can sync but after no error no message is there.

let me add some ancient infos here, even if they were never fully researched to the end:

in the good old times when meschle and tom started cooking their fisrt roms, the first battery drain problem surfaced.
a german forum team started looking into this and found the following:

radio roms poll for a signal- clearly, thats what they are made for!:)
now, original roms and radio combinations actually "made" for artemis, poll for that signal, once the signal has been found, the frequency of that polling is highly reduced.
those roms showing a drastic battery drain though, never stopped reducing that polling frequency; i.e. they kept polling as if the signal was never found.

this used to be a fact, from within their researches.

the probable reason for this to never have been completed probably was the diversity of diffrent user feedback, i.e. numerous people reported not to have a battery drain even though they used a cooked rom with a non-original artemis radio version!:rolleyes:

afaik, the last officially for the artemis released / integrated radio version is 03.06.90 ! ( all latter ones are ported from other devices )
currently i am using this on yuE v14 with excellent reception and battery power:)

concluded from above,
i would seriously like to take u up on examining this "dj stripped radio" - m2d rom by flashing it with the mentioned radio rom! IDEALLY flah radio via sd card flashing AND flash it TWICE!
additionally allow the battery to empty, recharge it for "syncronisation wih the current software", and see what happens, naturally all communication settings in one and the same manner!

Is sd card flashing really possible on the Artemis? So, according to your interpretation, we should think of 'combinations' of ROMs and Radio upgrades? And perhaps we have the provider to take in account? After probing, it seems that the latest Radio upgrade (3.39.30) drains the battery for my Artemis less than the elder ones.

Have you tried a soft-reset? I had some problems before. And, make sure your HTC isn't connected to a PC.

Yes i did and You tube at last installed but Tom Tom will not, It goes to wher you want to install it and then just sits there, i tried leving it over night whilst installing, however this didn't work either, and i still cannot get my contacts from my sim,

Replace the nbh file to anorther pack rom who work and try. i do that sometimes.
if it don't work in new folder, the nbh is maybe corrupted. Try download again...

free ram is at 23-25 at most times coz album n audio manager isn't there, did u guys notice this???

i listen to music on ext speaker a lot and its a lot softer compared FlyRom..., with FlyRom's db settings, its as loud as a touch/touch2. i could leave my phone in the hall and hear it from the kitchen.

i hope i'm not spoiling the fun... anyway i wished the chef could consider fixing the above... then it'll be PERFECT

or is there a cab file out there that could increase audio db without affecting distortion levels? i have maxed out both windows n pocket music's volume settings....

Had this ROM for a few weeks now and apart from upgrading iContact and using Virtual Keyboard Manager to completely remove Thai keyboard, it is working great! Battery drains a bit quicker than some but it looks superb (I have modified taskbar and S2U2).

Beware - There is big bug in this ROM. Once you tap lock device there is no way you can unlock it. I am stuck now. Please let me know how to solve this problem

Yeah thats a problem.
I had to reflash my XDA after I locked it.
Would be good if someone could help on this.

You can just make hard reset manually :o and after, don't use the lock screen but a program similar like "Slide 2 Unlock" (s2u2 now)

Do You mean hard reset is disconect battery ?
Tried. After booting device remains in locked state.

Flashed already with different ROM. But would be good to know about some solution or fix on this.

The question may be so stupid but I can't get rid of it. In this ROM I can't find tmail.exe... Where is it????
I've found tmail.lnk under \Windows but that points at MSINBOX...

Try searching for M2DC - that allows customisations of TouchFlo/M2D including clocks, tabs etc
