no sound through earpiece

Hey guys, Wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this problem..

The other day I put a call on speaker phone so i could have my hands free... Ever since that call, all of my calls are directed through speaker phone regardless of whether i turn the speakerphone setting on or off, all voice calls come through the speaker and no sound will come through the earpiece. I opened up the phone case to check the contacts on the earpiece and everything seems to be in order. I´ve narrowed the problem down to a software issue.. Anyone ever had this happen?

I´m running kavana 6.1.

I´ve obviously rebooted the phone several times to no avail. To my understanding a hard reset would set the phone back to factory condition right? (does that mean losing kavana 6.1 and all my contacts?)..

if anyone has had an experience like this i´d greatly appreciate any input/shared experiences.

UPDATE:
Just hard reset the phone.. and there is no change. All voice calls are still being directed to the rear speaker and not to the earpiece... Any ideas? I cant imagine how this could be a hardware issue......

You won't lose Kavana, you will have the phone as it was when Kavana was flashed save contacts to sim and move anything you need to storage card.

There's 2 ways to hard-reset.

1. Via ClearStorage 1234

After a hard reset... no avail... who know´s what could be the problem here... dont think its a hardware issue.. but it seems like i could be wrong......
