i made this with the help of 3 Kitchens to learn.. :p

Love the ROM. Flashed last night. Here is my usage feedback:

1. Really fast right out of the gate. There seems to be a really big memory leak. Started off with over 20 MB free program memory. After running a couple of applications, it dropped to 12MB free. I did a soft reset and had the same result. Same result also after hard reset. I kept testing and my phone eventually told me that I had to close programs due to low memory. I selected programs to close and the screen went white. I had to soft reset to use the phone again. This also happened after a soft & hard reset.

2. Phone does not prompt for a timezone after flashing. I am able to switch my timezone after setup but there are some problems. When the "Samsung widget" is in use, time can not be changed. It stays on London, Dublin time for home and Pacific U.S. for visiting. I also tried changing these after hard and soft resets. This only occurs On the widget though. The proper time is displayed when using "Samsung Today 1" and "Samsung Today 2".

3. While using "Samsung Today 1", the following icons disappear when selected: Phonebook, FM Radio & Picture. They don't seem to point to any program. They simply disappear when selected. Also happened after soft and hard resets.

Everything else works perfectly so far!! I will provide more feedback if I run into any other bugs. I hope this helps with your development!!!...

No. The memory only drops significantly while the widget, samsung 1, or samsung 2 are selected on "today". I found this out because i use internet sharing o my pc. If I deselect the today items, then I can tether internet just fine. But if I have any of the omnia today items selected, the memory gets sucked up and I can't use my internet sharing. The leak is definately associated with the omnia "today" items.

Great job on this rom. Its very nice.
I have the same issues as spacemonkey so far. Haven't loaded the today fixes yet but will wait till you find something out about memory leak and time issues with widget.

After re-flash, my memory is still leaking. I installed wisbar advance and that solved the problem. It seems like most programs won't close on "x" or "ok". Wisbar takes care of that issue and also shows which programs are running on your title bar. It is a very useful app.

pbar works also. wisbar is still my favorite though. pbar takes up less space. i uploaded pbar for those that are having the memory leak. unzip and copy the exe file to your storage card or progrmas folder. run the pbar.exe and that's it...

Regarding the issue..
I can't fix the programs not in QVGA resolution..
i been searching and finding ways to do it since i woke up.. it's been 11hrs in front of the computer..:eek:

im no wiz in computer but my CONCLUSION is the application was tend to omnia's resolution..
the widget of Omnia however was in flash form.. so it's easy to just adjust the resolution...
i dont know if the programs can be change to QVGA.. it's in the dll itself..
(correct me if im wrong GURUS):o

i hope someone can/knows how to edit the dll and convert it to QVGA..

sorry to disappoint you guys about the resolution thing..:( but its GREAT right? having omnia look,apps and feel in your trusty old hermes..:)

im not the nagging type (which is exactly i am ;p), but there was a few things that bummedme, not bugs but few things i think you over looked it or still working on it


the icon's in the top bar is so colory.. and i dunno how to change them becuse some of my themes are solid green or yellow, plus it will make the ROM look cheap
no office application?
i recommend adding CorePlayer to the ROM, its in the original omnia and I already tried the program in several ROM's including yours and it works perfectly
in the contacts list (original one not samsung's) the letter bar in the right are too wide
last thing is an omnia program collection, its all based on 3.2" screen, so when i open -for example- Digital frame, portion of the slideshow is eaten, the Onia resulution is 240x400, but the Herms mobile is 2.8" with 240x320

Your rom is perfectly because it is Omnia build in rom most fast in my life , but i found little bug when i flashed . I listen the music with sm player and used my bluetooth headset, the problem is : the player can't play when i pick up the call and hang up. Another problem is i press the play button manually , i can't listent the music ( no sound ) , but the player is playing . hope you can fix this problem , many thanks and great rom!

@ayan: yes u r right, the widget bar does work in the landscape mode but has a delay of 2 or 3 secs.
well i've a few questions to ask
1)can u modify the widget bar in a way that we could assign a program to it. i mean that if you want an installed program to appear in the widgets bar as a shortcut? can we be able to do vice versa i,e to remove a program e.g the notes out of the widget bar.
2) can we have a lite rom with only the feature of the widget bar and nothing else from the omnia, i mean none of their softwares that are built in.? like to have a simple wm6.1 with only the widget bar, nothing else
3) are u still working on this rom or do you have anything else up ur sleeves?

well ayan i appreciate ur efforts alot and i hope very soon u are gonna improve ur roms to the level that they become our first choice.

the hermnia MINI has the widget only and other program that in the widget on like phonebook,SM player and content manager..

2.landscape show after 5sec on me..
3.maybe you have alot of running program that causes the white screen try using a task manager program like pbar..
4. yes it isnt in QVGA format yet but still working.. still finding someone interested to convert it to QVGA format.. (im not a computer whiz guy)
5. yes it was the default theme.. you can download other themes in Device Update
6, COMM MANAGER isnt included in lite and MINI version.. you can download what coom manager you like.. to be more customizable..:)

It will straighten out any issues that happen when you flash big storage roms. Because they use the memory differently, and it could make odd, sort of overlapping places (going directly from big storage to big storage), causing all sorts of issues. And the stock rom lays the memory back out in the default manner, getting rid of any possibly issue. (at least that's my understanding, and it works!).

I would flash the oem, or the at&t stripped rom (the one I use) between every custom rom.

make sure that the sd card is 2gig or less
make sure that the hard spl .nbh file is renamed to HERMIMG.nbh
also there shouldn't be any other files on the sd card

i had to stick with schap's or k's wm6.0 rom, my corp email doesn't seem to sync properly with 6.1 or 6.5.. ='(

Another great ROM from one proud kababayan, keep up the good work bro i'll try to flash our very own pinoy ROM once i have my Hermes from my gf. Could you make a "3 Star and a SUn" theme? that would be more brilliant to be made in the philippines :)

manually put your phone into bootloader and try it from there, or try the sd method.

I have installed the MINI. It works fine with my Hermes (JASJAM) and I liked your work. A newbee has done an experienced job.

As you instructed in post 1 I downloaded and copied SECSTRUN.EXE to \Windows folder. Still I receive the following message:

"secstrun.exe
The file 'secstrun' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring the file."

Is there any more components to this file? How I can fix this problem?
