HTC Home on Samsung i780

I've installed:

- RealVGA (96dpi + 128dpi)
- HTC-Home-Plugin.cab
- ma_misc_now
- ma_misc_today
- ma_menu_btn
- qa_layouts

but it's not working. Can you please help this n00b out?

You are a noob(just like me) :p A requirement for HTC home is an HTC device with WM 6.1

It is a rar archive wich contains also the htc home, you have to install the one called EFN HTC HOME V2 MAIN.

This is the error I keep getting (in Dutch but I'll try to translate):

Since Samsung Today not is compatible with other components of Today, it is only reflected in Samsung Today

It happened to me when i was using an italianized i1 rom but to solve it i reflashed with L1, restarting the device is unuseful try reflashing your device with a best rom or to perform an hard-reset

What do you mean with "L1"?
I just bought the device and it has WM6.1 allready installed on it. I believe it's the latest ROM.

5.2.20270 (build 20270.1.3.1)

No there are many modified english roms, you can find them on this forum.The L1 i use is one of the first roms with pagepool increased to 16mb but there are also newest roms like HL2 made by inertiax or mascian which are also very good.
Edit: complete name of rom i use is PMSHL1

Thanks for everything but I don't even dare to try to update the ROM. I'm afraid I'll mess everything up and the device will become useless. :confused:

Before upgrading, have you already tried to uncheck the samsung today in start-settings-today-items and leave checked only htc home?

What now? :) I can see the grey screen of HTC Home. But when I click on the "MSN messenger like icon" I get a "non solved error in Shell". :(

I think "msn like icon" is the contacts icon but i really don t know how to solve that problem, try restarting the device and cross your fingers;)

How to falsh WM6.1 rom, please advise procedure

first of all, you need to disable samsung today plugins. You can only have htc home and some standard plugins (calendar, tasks) in the today screen.

if you're using a dutch rom, you need to rename 2 files.
one in the \htchome (or whatever) directory
and one in the \windows directory

They look something like this:
htc*.0409.mui
and they should look like this:
htc*.0413.mui

NOTE THAT 0413 is DUTCH and OTHER codes are required for other languages.
