I'm playing with various kitchens - gonzo, lefab, hottelman - with no success, they are for previous versions of windows - < 6.1

Which kitchen are You using ? and best of all - HOW ?

Regards - m32

PS I want play with xip - adding and removing from there - not for making new distro - 1.4 custom is the :) best

Hi,

Do you tried this ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=386694

A great kitchen from frauhottelmann for wm6.0 or wm6.1.

About XIP, it's just a part of rom for boot. You can't really play with it, you can just port a xip from a rom to your rom to update version.

Bye.

Regarding XIP you can search for XIPKitchen Beta2, it gives you a lot of options for porting XIPs etc!

Yes - it was rater hard, but now it's useable :) from command line.

Now I can see (and perhaps understand) what You mean sys in modules and not in files :)

In my case there is only one question (I hope) - how buildos plays with registry.
One file should be comming from default.hv and second from user.hv, default.hv is decoded and stored in rom/xip/boot.hv (rgu)

second one ? is reconstruced from packeges ? - in this moment my buildos fails :)

xiptools.exe - xipport.exe :) - they are sufficient - msflshtool.exe and others are giving more power :)

But for a start the XIPKitchen is perfect. Simple automatic porting!
And why was it rather hard/ why are you using it from cmd???

EDIT: Would be good to know to improve it!

I'm rather oldboy :) from msdos times.
Improving seems good but only when sources are available

I am not developing the cmd version any more! For new functions/improvements there are separate bats in TOOLS/BATs!
What sources do you mean/want??

@fh: Does it make a difference if i use the following exes (I used them with Gene, but don't know if they are different) to customize ROM:
nbhextract, imgfsfrombin, imgfstodump, etc etc. ?

They are only for unpacking/extracting, right?
The 2nd method for extracting uses those (partly) but if you want to extract a Vox ROM you don't need the 2nd method, thus you don't need these tools!
