Can't adjust " light " key on keyboard

Hi there everyone ,

I just found out that i cant adjust the light of my dopod u1000 like before , by pressing the " light " icon key on my u1000 keyboard . When i first bought it years ago i remember it can adjust light by pressing down that key and light will go brighter until max then u press again it will dim back the light until u stop . That was with WM 5 , now it is WM 6 . Anyone can assist and tell me why ?

Its never worked that way for me in WM6, but thats certainly how I think it should work. Instead, all it does is wake up the screen after its turned off.

wow , u r fast in your reply , thanks a lot , hmmn , that's interesting - wakes up the u1000 from sleep , i will try that later and see . Anyway i was thinking the .dll , code of instruction , or something to do with the software that is missing or corrupted , let's see if others athenians will respond when they see this thread . :)

Same with me, it only wakes up the screen - dopod U1000 on stock WM6.

Hi there !

Yup , tested the keyboard , it only wakes up the phone , infact all the 48 keys in the keyboard does the same - wakes up the screen only . Therefore the " light " key is a non functional key , i wonder whether our Xda Athenian genius can program this key into a toggle key for adjusting the screen light ?
