Hello all,
I hoping some of you Windows Mobile 6.1 gurus can help me resolve a pesky issue that I have with MMS messages. I'm hoping there is a regedit or some other fix for this issue.
First of all, I'm running Kavana's 6.1 ROM and loving it. So big thanks to Kavana and all other contributors to this ROM.
The problem: When sending an MMS (picture) message, I am being limited to 40 characters maximum in the subject field. Why is this a problem? My #1 use of MMS messages is to send photos to TwitPic. It's a service that allows you to post pictures online from your phone, which also show up in your Twitter stream. A lot of the time, 40 characters just isn't enough to give a full description of the picture that I am posting (which is scraped from the subject field).
Does anyone know how to increase this 40 character limit in the MMS subject field? If so, please share! Any advice, tips, suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU!

Use the READ feature, it works wonders too.
I am well aware of how to increase the MMS message size limit. This has no effect on the maximum character limitation of the SUBJECT field inside MMS messages. It is still stuck at 40 characters max, even though I can send MMS messages up to 300K in size.

Just accidentally googled to this - very old - thread ... but beeing very clever :P - the reason is in MMS design itself - phone is notified about incoming MMS by special binary push SMS, which tells the phone to download the MMS from MMSC. This binary SMS contains the subject just to inform the receiver about MMS details before downoading MMS itself. 40 chars is the limitation of this binary SMS ...
