Trying to connect to a shared internet connection from a imac running osx 10.5.3. On the phone the network is detected as if is a router and it will not let me select the "this is a device to device (ad-hoc) connection" check box, it will not connect. when adding the network by hand and selecting this check box I am still unable to connect to the network.

Other device on my network are able to connect to this connection with no problem.

I am hoping someone has tried this sort of setup before and can possible share a bit their knowledge with me. Any help is appreciated.

Is your phone an att tilt?

Not a tilt, its a HTC Excalibur branded as a T-mobile Dash. Though I do have a Tilt available to test the network with, that will be my next step in troubleshooting.

I see, I asked cause it says it on your bottom signature.

Hi,

I am wondering if you were able to resolve your issue. I am in the same situation, but with a HTC touch and a HTC Magic.

I am unable to connect with either device to the network shared by my mac. However, other mac machines are able to access the network.

Advice appreciated.

Thanks!
Michael
