-do a soft reset

I have no time at the moment to work on a new version of the rom.

25.02.09: with this rom i can't establish a bluetooth connection to
my activesync. per usb works fine bluetooth, no way. any ideas?
Tried it on Vista as well as XP, which means Windows Mobile Center and Activesync 4.5

A part from this brilliant work!

Just a little workaround which works out fine for me:

use the htc cube to appoint your contacts it is similar to the people widget.
Restart your device and you will still find your contacts in people widget.
In this way you can at least use 9 contacts from people widget.;)

Not the matter, normally I just use iContact and Microsoft VoiceDial, so I do not need the people widget.
So far, I would be nice to have iContact also in the ROM ;)

MY ENGLISH IS NOT SO GOOD.... please excused !!!

I flash this ROM yesterday and .... this was really brilliant work!

Notice few mini Bugs (Errors??)....

1. At the Windows folder, there are some "409.mui´s" ?!?

2. At "Einstellungen/Verbindungen" are two Icons "USB zu PC" (one icon in grey the other in color)! The Grey Icon has no Function !

3. M2DC is outdated !

4. After Flashin and Hardreset , my MicroSD is "Sorage Card" and a second Folder called "Program Files" (with M2DC in it) !

The "Geräte-Information" says ROM-Datum: 08/30/08 ??? (old ROM-Version???)

Could you please insert a new ComManager and Dialer !!!

Last but not least ... please put the Batti away ... Ariel Battery v2.1 is a very good Tool ...

But when all these and the other Errors, Bugs etc. are corrected, this was the best German ROM (with M2D) for the Nike !!!

Please do not stop your amazing Work... take your Time ....

I try to fix all the issues t version.

I know that manila is an older build, but it is working fine....

I found the bug with the contact widget. when you kill the biotouch.exe an add then a a contact to manila it works fine.

I can only solve this problem by removing the cube complete in next version

here´s the current status of the new rom:

corrected bluetooth bug
contacts in manila working / cube removed
new sys ported and translated (blackstone 20757)
removed old 0409 muis
removed 2nd usb to pc icon



the new sys is very fast! much faster the the old sys!
opening the windows folder in file explorer takes <1 sec

when there are no big problems I think I can relese the rom on saturday evening or on sunday

Yes, surely you can target your thumb to the camera icon.
With my old big thumbs this is very, erhh, what should I say, I can't hit them ;)
So I prefer the softkey, no problem, I will fix it for myself ;)

Awesome update, definately the best rom for us german users.

Nice speed, overall look and no useless aps. You're going in the right direction with this rom.

One suggestion though: include HTC Youtube in the next build. Found it very useful and it catches the eyes of almost every Iphone user I know because they think they are the only ones who can have a great youtube app on their phone.. :)

Flashed V2 ... the Speed the Look and Feel is great .... but there are some Bugs...:confused:

1.) M2d "Fotos und Videos" cannot play Videos ! (Solution until next Version: Install Fullscreen_Player.cab !)

2.) Grey Icon in "Einstellungen/Verbindungen" named "MyCRT 12" (No Function)

3.) Taskmanager is in English !

4.) Activating the Keyboard , Default XT9 is ON !

5.) Version Date "08/30/08" ! (New ROM or New Drivers ???)

6.) In Windows Folder there is a Folder called "Start Menu" (Solution: Delete it !)

7.) In Phone Canvas , the Buttons have no Words ! :confused:

But this ROM is better than V1 ....

Waiting for V2.5 ... V3 ....:rolleyes:

How's the power usage with this. I could not limit the high power drain with 20765, and have abandoned it.

Note the 20765 SYS does fix the problem with SMS sent folder missing in most WM6.1 ROMs

I coul´d not notice a higer power drain with the 20757 SYS even without any powermanagement settings in registry.

I never had the problem with the missing sms sent folder.
The only problem i had was with 20273 there i had to replace the original htmlnote.dll with an older version that incoming sms are viewable.

I'm having problems installing new skins for M2D.
I want to use the Mbarvian Diamond skin, it's a cab file. I install the skin and after the soft reset TouchFlo isn't starting at all and the skin isn't listed in Manilla Customizer.

What am I doing wrong?

the cab don´t work because it copies the files to the wrong location.

You have to use the zip file an load it in m2dc.

great ROM. Also from my side best german ROM so far. I tested V2 now for 2 days.

Nice application bundle
Runs smoothly.
BT Active Sync is working in V2.

Youtube would be great.

Beside the already mentioned not used icon in System folder, I found one bug:

If you are e.g. in the E-Mail postbox (the microsoft pocket outlook, NOT M2D) the normal ROM (because of CUBE?) lets you switch mails by moving your finger horizontally. With your ROM, the device hangs up and has to be soft reseted, becaus of error in biotouch.exe and no input is possible anymore.

It seems to be I must use another outloockenhancement in my next rom.
This one seems to be working only with htc cube.

It´s hard work to remove the cube completely....

That bug doesn't only affect email in general it also appears when you're in the SMS inbox and move your finger horizontally. Had my Niki also hanging up because of the biotouch error.

For email it works now with the horizontal move.
For sms not, but it doesn't crash, which is sufficient.

(I don't really use this navigation type, but if used accidently a phone crash is not so nice :D)

So I've been using you ROM for a while and I've found some more things:

- Google Maps in M2D isn't working for me. I've found a post here which said to copy the Google Maps folder to the folder "Program Files" but it still doesn't work.
- Adding new locations in the weather tab of M2D (in the xml file) isn't working. I found the solution to use a patched manila2d.exe but this makes the settings tab to not work anymore (there's no text there anymore, bad for me because I change the sound profile there)
- Maybe add a newer Opera Build
- Maybe make the app Batti as an option (or is there any way to uninstall it? I didn't find it in the list)

Besides those small things it's fast and nice as hell. It's really basic and just fits my needs very well because I like to keep my Nike clean without unnecessary apps and features.

(EDIT) forgot some more things:

- Change keyboard to this one:

fits in better to the dialpad and it would be better to have a nice overall look. Also has German layout
- When entering your PIN after booting there's still the old black style (also change it to diamond look?)

you can delete the batty link in \windows\autostart then batty does not start at boot.

With the keyboard i have the problem, that the original nike works, but the "Full Querty" keyboard isnt working. When i try to open the Options theres an error message.

This is an Issue with Ezinput.
Try to set all keyboards to german in Einstellungen/Eingabe and in Einstellungen/xt9 Settings and the restart the phone.

I Think this was the workaround. If not you can look in this thread:

My next rom comes with the original black keyboard. I can´t get the ezinput 1.5 working out of the box....

I have one problem with your rom`s, several minutes starts activesync.
When i stop this one, after 1-2 minutes then startet activesync new one!
Have you any ideas for compleat stop activesync?

I have an AT&T Tilt which ActiveSync keeps autostarting every five minutes and could not stop it. It was a serious power drain on the battery. I found that it takes 3 fixes to stop the sync action from auto-starting all the time.
1. Kill the repllog / remote h process in the task manager (recommmend fdc taskmanager for this)
2. Disable the Repllog Notification (Apprunaftertimechange) in the Notification Window.
3 Registry hack > HKEY>CURRENTUSER>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>ACTIVESYNC
locate value "Keep Alive" change this to "0" for disabled. 1 will keep it alive with the remote h settings.

I have Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro and use AS version 4.5 the latest and this works for me.

i installed the full t-mobile german update rom and than bauners version 3 again over it and now it all works like a charm :)

Had have the same issue with this updater, since i've completly unlocked my Device (CID & Security), i can flash this Radio with updater included.

Radio 1.71 works also great on my Device (MDA Touch Plus T-Mobile Germany). But for me it feels like the Radio from Shipped Rom (T-Mobile WM6.1 and HTC German WM 6.1) has less power drain, but higher Data Rates on 3G...
Could also an Placebo effect :D

Let's say we want to add the city of Bremen in Germany to our HTC Touch Weather Plug-in (this works for every other city as well that can be found at AccuWeather.Com).
• Look up the City of your Choice
Go to http://www.accuweather.com/ and enter your desired city in the search field called "Local Weather Forecast", in our case: Bremen, Germany.



After you have clicked yourself to your local weather site, take a look at the browser's address bar and copy the location code from the URL.



• Edit the XML file
Now navigate to your Windows directory in the pocket pc. Find the file called "HH_0407_WeatherCities.xml" and change its properties so it can be edited (uncheck read-only tickbox).

Then, click on "File" - "Edit" and duplicate a line of XML code, preferably in the right alphabetical place. In general, such a line of code contains the following:

<city name="Cityname, COUNTRY" locationcode="LOCATIONCODE_YOU_COPIED_BEFORE"/>

So in our case we would change the entries to this:

<city name="Bremen, DE" locationcode="EUR|DE|GM005|BREMEN"/>

Save the file and reset its properties again to read-only.

Für eigen Wetter Locations brauchst du noch die von N2A gepatchte M2D Datei. Die gibts im M2D Thread von Herg (Developers Bereich im Forum).

Bei mir läuft die Version 2 am besten. Version 1 und die Beta3 haben einige Macken. Ansonsten super Arbeit...
Ich habe auch keine Grafikfehler bei allen Versionen.
Nur die Videowiedergabe bei der 3 Version spielt kurz an und dann ist Schluss.

Meiner Meinung ist die V3, das Beste, schnellste und stabilste ROM, was Dual-Benutzer ihrem Gerät wirklich gönnen sollten !!! :)

Das M2D rennt schnell wie nie ... butterweiches Scrolling ... Videowiedergabe funzt auch super ... niedriger Stromverbrauch ... und das alles mit einer Build >207** !!! RESPEKT !!!

Schaut euch mal die anderen ROMs an ... gut schaun se alle aus .... ABER ... stabil ? ... schnell ? ... DEUTSCH ? ... Programmauswahl ? ... mit voll funktionsfähigem M2D ? ... und wie viele bleiben über ??? :eek: ...
RISCHTISCH ... DIE V-Reihe von bauner !!! :D

So... genug des Lobes ... leider ist dieses ROM (noch) nicht ganz perfekt ! Hier und da ein paar kleine Schönheitsfehler (im vergleich zu den anderen ROMs, könnten die User damit weiterarbeiten)!

Ich gebe jetzt auch ein paar zum besten:

1.) Active Sync Kabel Verbindung kommt bei mir nicht zustande... FEHLER 608 ! WinXP SP3 + ActiveSync 4.5
(scheint eine Krankheit der neueren Builds zu sein ... siehe animelovers ROMs !)

2.) Wenn ich den Festplatten-Modus schalte erscheint ein Request, ich möchte doch bitte eine Speicherkarte einlegen ! :eek:

3.) Die Ordner-Struktur (Namen) ist wohl vom Englischem ROM übriggeblieben :confused: ?!?

4.) Taskmanager in Englisch...

Bis auf Punkt 1 (SCHWERWIEGENDER FEHLER!), sind das doch nur Kleinigkeiten mit denen wir User doch gut umzugehen wissen ... :D

So ... das war meine Meinung zu diesem ROM !

das kann leider noch ein paar tage dauern. ich bin noch am fehler suchen warum mehrere dateien markieren nicht geht.

es liegt auf jeden fall an der sys. mit der 20273 von der v1 geht es mit der v2 und der beta von der v3 nicht. mit einer testweise übersetzten 21109 geht es auch ohne probleme.

jetzt muss ich entweder finden warum die neueren builds so langsam sind oder warum das dateien markieren bei den älteren builds nicht geht

ich schreib auch mal auf deutsch, bin zu doof das in englisch zu erklären ;)

die frage ging dahin wie ich aus dem laufenden handy bestimmte dll-files die im windowsverzeichnis liegen woanders hinkopieren kann, bei einigen kriege ich immer fehlermeldungen.

ich versuche das weil ich gerne einige der icons gegen eigene tauschen würde. die icons wie sie in deiner version2 waren fand ich auch sehr gut, z.B. rot wenn kein Empfang und unterschiedliche farben für gprs, umts, hsdpa usw.
Schade das die in Version 3 nicht drin sind.

Offen gestanden - so langsam finde ich das neue build nicht. Ich habe ja ein paar posts weiter oben selbst geschrieben, dass ich das Gefühl habe, V3 wäre langsamer.

Nachdem ich nun alle Einstellungen vorgenommen habe, v.a. auch die touch flo settings in advanced config, meine ich nun, keinen Unterschied mehr zu sehen.

Wie gesagt, ich kann mich natürlich auch täuschen, aber nach zwei Tagen ausprobieren läufts für mich jetzt gut.

Das mit dem Dateikopieren funktioniert prinzipiell so wie du beschrieben hast Togger, so bin ichs auch gewohnt. Versiuch das jetzt mal mit den Dateien im Windowsverzeichnis die mit shell anfangen, da geht das ganze nicht. Und das sind die an die ich ran wollte, darin sind die Icons für die obere Leiste verborgen, Bluetooth, Verbindung, Alarme usw

ActiveSync funktioniert bei mir übrigens ohne Probleme, sowohl lokal am Rechner als auch übers Netz am Exchange-Server. Habe vor dem Flashen von V2 auf V3 das aktuelle T-Mobile ROM eingespielt.

Sorry ... hab die Sache nur halb gelesen .... aber warum hängst Du das Gerät nicht über ActiveSync an den PC und kopierst dann die Daten mit dem Total Commander (Desktop Version !) auf den PC (hat bis zur V2 selbst bei mir geklappt !) ! Icons editieren und wieder zurück das ganze ... wenn er meckert, vorher umbenennen und dann rüberkopieren...

Könntest mir vielleicht nen Gefallen tun !?! Diese START-Flagge geht mir seit kurzen auf den Keks... wenn Du gerade am editieren bist, kannst mal das HTC-Logo einfügen ?!? Wäre Super...

Deshalb frage ich. Die 1.71 vom Kaiser scheint derb viel Akku zu ziehen, dafür bekomm ich bisher nur bei dem Radio den vollen HSDPA SPEED..... Und es soll das beste Radio für Android sein....Aber das Telefon wird dabei heftig heiß... Gut kann das nicht sein.... Hmmmm.... Bauner V3 ist also genial? Mal eine kleine Fragenliste:

-Wie warm/heiß wird dein Gerät bei HSDPA Nutzung? Bei mir bis zu 58Grad, wenn gleichzeitig geladen wird.Gemessen mit HS++
- Internetsharing funktioniert? HSDPA Speed? Sollte bis 400kb gehen.
- A2DP funktioniert fehlerlos?
-Scrolling ist wirklich butterweich? Baut sich der Screen sichtbar auf, oder ist er quasi "da"?
--Freier Programmspeicher?
-Footprints vorhanden?

der akkuverbrauch von dem 1.71er radio ist bei mir nur ganz minimal höher als beim originalem 1.65

das hab ich auch schon versucht, weder über den total commaner, noch servant salamander noch direkt per explorer kriege ich die dateien ausgelesen. mir bleibt nur noch irgendwie dieses ruu-teil zu entpacken, aber da hab ich keinen plan von... ;)

have you tried another usb cable or tried to deleting your old activesync partnerships on your desktop pc?
You can also try to disable the "schnelle dateisynchr. aktivieren" in einstellungen/verbindungen/usbtopc

I´ve solved the keyboard problem and replaced the folder my documents complete by eigene daten.

Now I try to fix TOggER´s activesync problem.
This is not easy I can´t reproduce this problem.

I´ve tried it on windows 7, windows vista, xp, xp sp2 and xp sp3 always after a hardreset.
It worked on all pc´s without any problems.

Hi Bauner, I'm still with V2 of your ROM, really works perfekt with me. Fast and stable too, as far as I can say, that's why I didn't upgrade to v3 RC1.
But in Final release could you please try and fix the biotouch problem.
I really need these functions. for example I can "fingershift" through single emails but i can't fingeshift through my postboxes.
A nother problem is that i can't mark more than one email because of the biotouch.exe I assume.

A little additional wish.....working youtube in opera...i guess that's it.

To everyone who realized that this definetly is a really good german rom, if not the best....donate!! I will, after V3 is released and the little fixes are done.
I really appreciate the hard work of bauner, who really is fast and reliable!

It works with vista and at work with win 2000 prof. Calendar and tasks sync without problems.

Das ROM ist echt flott, danke für deine Arbeit! Allerdings habe auch ich das 608er Problem - Vista und PPC schon mehrfach neu gestartet, schnelle Dateisync. abgeschlatet, aber kein Erfolg...

Hab mal etwas gegoogelt und viele alte Threads zum Thema gefunden, die immer mit WLAN Treibern zu tun hatten. Vielleicht hilft das ja bei der Suche?

One thing though: After a fresh flash I checked the programs folder and Audio Manager was there once. Today after a soft reset there a two icons for Audio Manager and they both work?!?
But so far your ROM is coming along nicely!

So, die erneute Installation hat bei mir nichts verändert. Aber:

Das von mir beschriebene Problem tritt nur auf, wenn ich den per default eingestellten ABC Modus ausgewählt habe und das keyboard benutze. Wenn auf xt9 umgestellt ist funktioniert es. Wenngleich es auch sehr träge reagiert..

I also think that this would be the best way. So there will be no problem with the difference of a 16 or 20 keys keyboard and you can install the cabs you need.

@ bauner: Yes, I used the cabs of the link you posted. But the german language cab was unable to install. But it works!

Installed the keyfix but now the keyboard isn't working at all anymore :(
I can only type digits but no letters..

2. do a soft reset
3. In compact querty choose options and change to "german"
4. Then do a soft reset again

Then it should work!

Already had some 608 errors seen on some friends pc, and it was always a PC problem (Firewall issue, ActiveSync Settings messed up, Some problem with security suite).

1. Delete all Active Sync Connections (all files and fodlers) in:
C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\%Username%\Anwendungsdaten\Microsoft \ActiveSync\Profiles
2. Delete all Active Sync settings on Nike and SoftReset
3. Turn off all Security Suite Firewall (only temporarly :D)
4. Try again

Zunächst mal: Ich bin mit V3 sehr zufrieden.

Ich habe mal eine Frage an diejenigen, die V3 ohne ezinput installiert haben:
Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass das hardware keyboard erstmal nicht funktioniert, erst nachdem mal ezinput manuell installiert hat, oder?

Ich überlege nämlich, ein anderes software keyboard statt ezinput zu installieren. Macht aber nur Sinn, wenn das HW Keyboard dann auch läuft!

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I already tried all that, even reinstalled Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1. Anyway, after flashing back to the last official HTC ROM everything works again, so I can rule out my PC as the problem. Any other suggestions?

Hello everyone,

Here's a little guideline how to upgrade your P5500 / Niki 100 but don't blame anyone if you get into trouble :cool:

Main problem with P5500 / Niki 100 is an old radio ROM... if you just flash German ROM V3, it will work apparently, but actually you will not be able to use your phone to make/get calls anymore :D

Use the forum search to find the required tools: niki supercid, hardspl-mfg, sspl and german rom v3 (first post here) and you're good to go.

1. Get German ROM from this forum (1st post)
2. Get hardspl-niki-mfg 1.15 (not 1.16 or just 1.15, make sure its the mfg-version)
3. Flash hardspl-1.15-mfg to your phone

copy sspl to your phone, execute it there and press "Continue"
a 3-colour-bootscreen appears, when it says "USB" remove the usb cable and reconnect it then wait 10 seconds
now start RomUpdateUtility (and make sure hardspl-1.15mfg-nike.nbh is in your folder)
Your phone is now hardspled, so you can install any ROM even if your screen should go black when getting into trouble :)

4. The shipped wm-version is probably too new for your old P5500, so you have to upgrade your radio ROM -> that's why you flashed hardspl-1.15-mfg and *nothing else* :)
5. Before flashing your radio ROM (you're done soon, don't worry) you have to unlock your phone. Get your self the SuperCID unlocker.

Follow instructions as seen in the post here in this forum (start in
3-color-bootmode by pressing "on"-button and "camera"-button)
wait for USB info, then disconnect reconnect usb
Flash the special radio rom (step 1), reboot in tri-color-bootmode
now start supercid unlocker, should be done in max. 10 secs

6. When you start your phone make sure it says "Security unlocked", don't continue in other cases
7. Upload a new radio ROM: i recommend 1.65.24.36 and also tried 1.71.09.01 so far, but got little keyboard problems with both (can only enter digits now... ).

By using 1.65.24.36 the "PIN"-dialog didnt disappear instantly after starting the phone, which happend using 1.71

8. Start windows\key.cab on your mobile to reinstall ezinput, this has fixed my keyboard problem (you can switch to abc, that works as well now)

If anyone could give a hint how to fix the "digit-keyboard" problem... that would be great (it's a 16-key niki 100, german/swiss keyboard mapping required).

-Telefonfunktion geht nur sporadisch ( meine Frau hatte 3X angerufen und einmal hat es bloß geklingelt )
-Nachrichten über verpasste Anrufe kamen später...
-Klingeltöne wurden geschrumpft(ist zwar nicht wichtig, ich erwähne es trotzdem)
-die version 2 läuft meiner Meinung nach flüssiger
-die Optik sieht bei der 2'er Version schöner aus (ist auch nicht sooo wichtig)
-das einzigste was positiv an der 3'er Version, meiner Meinug nach zu erwähnen wäre, das die Videofunktion geht.

Bitte verstehe mich nicht falsch, es soll kein Gemecker sein. Du hast große Mühe und Zeit in dieses Projekt gesteckt,dafür großen Respekt, aber du hast mich gefragt.....

Da ich kein SMS-Junkie bin, ist mir die kompfortable Tastaturfunktion ziemlich egal. Für die normalen Eingabefunkion über die virtuelle Tastatur reicht das.

Die Probleme mit der Telefonfunktionen haben nichts mit dem ROM zu tun. Das liegt am alten Radio ROM (beim startup des phones siehst du eine Versionsnummer: R ..... darunter G ... etc.). Die R-Zahl ist die Version des Radio-Roms, z.B. 1.58.x.x. Für ein Upgrade musst du aber zuerst das Phone security-unlocken.

Die getestete Version 1.71.09.01 funktioniert, es gibt nur Probleme mit dem Keyboard. Ich teste gerade die 1.65.24.36, diese funktioniert auch gut bis jetzt, hat aber auch ein Keyboard problem.

Im Vergleich zur 1.71.x.x verschwindet bei 1.65.24.36 beim Startup des Phones die Pin-Eingabe nicht plötzlich wieder.

To save battery, I am used to often disable 3G when not using the phone as a modem. In new V3 the 3G-Button in CommMgr does not work, it seems that the config tool here (BandSel.exe ?) is missing here.

I got Rhodium Notification Manager QVGA to run under V2 rom (did not try V3, but should be same), get the cab (HTC_Notification_Manager.QVGA.ENG) from this thread (and many thanks for porting this to utak3r !!):

After installing the cab (and even before doing a reboot) rename the MUI files in \windows\ for the German ROM.
"NotificationLayout.dll.0409.mui" to "NotificationLayout.dll.0407.mui" and
"NotificationManager.dll.0409.mui" to "NotificationManager.dll.0407.mui"

After that use a Taskmanager (like fdc, in the ROM) to start the Service "Notification Manager (NTF0:)" (have to do this every time after restarting). fdc shows this under services tab (use the more-arrow top right) and then press the green Play-button on the bottom.

Notification Manager will appear when you press the Taskbar (except start and taskmanager), of course in English, because we just renamed the MUI files.

After my first issue with the Comm Manager (see below) I figured out that commmgr hooks itself up with an infinit waitcursor when trying to enable Flight-Mode and does not change the state/leaves radio on.
Anybody else seen this?

Now after flashing V2 and V3 thirty times back and forth, I analyzed Registry and probably figured out the problem.

The 3G Button in CommManager in V3 is now working for me!

2. Soft-Reset
3. Wenn die Software Tastatur erscheind (z.B SMS schreiben),
---> Compact QWERTY auswählen
4. Optionen --> Optionen
5. und als Sprache German auswählen
6. Soft-Reset

so hats bei mir gefunzt =D :cool:

Schönes Rom. Nur wo ist der Ordner "gesendete Objekte" bei Sms/MMS hin. Ich weiß, das ist nicht lebenswichtig. Ich finde das aber praktisch. Sonst alles sehr gut. Auch die Keyb und die Tastatur funzt. Da hatte ich beim Niki Rom immer Probleme.

zZ hab ich 1.71.09.01 drauf, aber der Akku hält nur 1 - 2 Tage

1.65.28.25 ca. 3 Tage

1.65.24.36 auch 3 Tage

mit diesem Radio 1.58.21.23 hat der Akku mid. 4 Tage gehalten, aber das Radio funzt nicht mit dem Rom oder kann man da am Rom noch was machen das es geht??

ansonsten geht alles.. nur der Akkuverbrauch ist ziemlich hoch..
