Herald Doesn't start after a bad flash

Hi everybody,

I went to a store this evening in order to unlock my Polaris. The owner of the store has got a HTC herald with a problem that he wanted me to solve.
He tried to install another rom on his herald but, due to an unsuccessfull rom upgrading, the HTC is locked on a RGB screen (red green blue) with the only following indications:

RUU
IPL 1.08.0001




SPL 1.08.0001















USB (or nothing when not plugged)




Would you mind helping me? I tried several Roms, and there was only one that seemed to work (ROM HERALD_ smiley sWWE.gif _6.1.405.13_BUILD 20764.1.4.3): It gave me a progress bar on the HTC frozen at 0% while the upgrading tool on the pc told me that I needed a more recent upgrading tool.

What can I do?

Before installing cooked ROMs I believe the phone must be HardSPL'ed, and this can only be done if the SPL/IPL is 4 or above - any lower/not HardSPL'ed and the device will be bricked. The screen you are describing is the bootloader, and since you only have an IPL/SPL of 1.x I'm pretty sure you can't install custom ROMs. To unbrick the device, turn it onto the bootloader and then load the original HTC ROM that came with the device.

I tried several times to enter in bootloader, but it's impossible as it starts with the bootloader menu! I can't change anything about that, even by soft resets, reset+camera, reset+buttons...

As I am stucked with 1.08.0001 SPL, There is nothing to do. All the users who tried to unbrick their phone didn't got it working, except one who changed the motherboard for... 200$ ! The price of a used HTC Herald in very good conditions!

sorry to say sir but your ipl and spl should have been 4.0 or higher and also HardSPL'ed. i'm pretty sure your device is bricked. GL on finding a way to fix it or buying a new one. =D

Nounou7701, though you cannot flash a cooked ROM with IPL/SPL 1.x you can definitely flash the official ROM from HTC.

He didn't head the warning of the SPL requirements. You can easily revive it using the GoldCard method. (Search for the term "goldcard herald".)

I've tried to flash my Hera 100 P4350 with HardSPL Herald, but I got an error message it has switched off and I can't get my mobile switched on again.:(

It looks like completly dead (kaput).:eek:

Can anyone help me ? Or explain why that happened ?:confused:

After a total reset (left soft touch + right soft touch + reset) I got the
IPL 1.08.0001
SPL 1.08.0001 screen but with no USB on the lower left corner of the screen :confused:

After arrived here what shoul I do to reinstall my P4350 ?

What do I need to have ?

Search for Goldcard to fix it....
