Hi,

I've flashed my nike with the phantom v1.2, then with the nike pro, but the first screen remains.
Now my slide is broken and i have to send it back to the warranty office. I reverted to the original rom, but the first screen still remains. How can i remove it? i think the warranty won't work if this screen is visible?

Thank you all for your future help!!

You need to flash your carrier's Bootsplash! Otherwise you'll have a problem! :(

First, what's your operator ?

For the splash screen, just try searching "<operator name> splash".

Then, have a look here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=367370
It explain how to make a simple picture become a splash screen.

But remember there are 2 splashes on the Niki startup : replacing only one won't give you the expected result...

as far as i know on software and warranty on hardware are two different things. By setting HardSPL and flashing a new rom you only lose the software warranty, not the warranty on the hardware part (as far as the damaged hardware doesnt result from your software changes...).
As the new rom cant have effected your slide warranty should be no problem, even with hardspl, a custom rom and the most stupid bootscreens possible...

(just something i read on another board... you might try asking for some legal guidance on one of the general boards here at xda-devs)

From radio reports of the phone sellers here, they will try everything under the sun not to honour a warranty. If anything is amiss, they will blame it, and either not repair the phone, or give you the runaround. You may still get it fixed in the end, but not after a lot of cursing/swearing/wasted time, not to mention phone being unavailable for extended period.

Thank you all, yes i think i should try to restablish the original setting, by i can't remember what was my first splash screen, now after having set the original rom i have:
- first : the custom screen of phantom V1.2 with info of the rom
- the HTC animated gif
- the windows mobile screen

So two questions :

- what is the original first screen? is it the operator one (bouygues telecom) or just a black screen with info of the system?

Thank you

For Bouygues, it's very simple since they let the original french ROM without any customisation.

Try to find the original spalsh screen from HTC on the forum and flash it. If you don't find, I may still have it somewhere on my HD...

hi antubis,

Thanx for the tip, but i don't remember what was the original splash (now there's the htc animated one, and the WM one(the green)). Is there one before? I'm quite lost because my phone really don't work anymore, a niki without the touch screen is really lame!!

There's a black splash with "Smart mobility" before if I remember.
If you don't find it on the forum, I'll have a look when I'll go home tonight

Here are the 3 screens i have on my phone, i think the first one has to be removed or replaced by another one.

Remember you have to flash the original SPL after having restored everything, then they will never know anything ;)
