I have searched this forum but can't seem to find it. I am aware I have to buy the maps, I just want the CAB file that will work with the Xperia.
TT_Nav_7.910.9185_vga_black.cab - I believe that's the one I am looking for.
Thanks

Illegal request... TomTom 7 is not freeware.

TomTom itself is free - the maps aren't.
It is a valid request, I believe.

:eek: Tell me in which country do you live ! In my country, the copyrights exist, probably you never bought TomTom or you bought it and never read the end user licence... ;) By the way, if TomTom was free, don't you think you could easily download it from TomTom website ? :rolleyes:
Unfortunately for us, TomTom 7 is not sold anywhere except preloaded on some mobiles... Even TomTom technical support people don't understand this actual marketing strategy. :confused:

Actually there is a cab file hosted on TomTom.com which you could download (but think it only works on "real" HTC devices).
There is nothing you can really do with the CAB file, other than get the free local map that TomTom offer.
However if you have paid for maps in the past, then why shouldn't you be able to run them on a different mobile?

Since you asked, I am from the US. You can download the program off the TT website, but it has trouble fitting into our screen due to the resolution. TT makes money by selling the maps for about 40 USD each. And yes, I did pay for them. Please do some research before you make more idiotic remarks, please. I'm not here to flame, but am here to help.

I did some research, and I would be pleased if you could give me the link where you can download the TomTom 7 binaries on the TomTom website, as in Europe, TomTom is looking actively for websites that deliver TomTom illegally to make them close.
I'm not here to flame either, sorry if I may have hurt you in any way. The only places I could find TomTom for free download are all piracy sites... Being a TomTom legal user since release 4, I contacted TomTom support to get TomTom 7, and they told me TomTom 7 wasn't available legally up to now. http://www.trudi.ch/smileys/sorry.gif

TomTom = utter RETARDS
No wonder they are losing market share hand over fist... clueless idiots at the top, period - but of course, once they are gone who will give a flying *&^% about it, all the losers in suits will find ANOTHER company to destroy...

Since there is no WVGA version for our X1s... I saw 2 different versions being mentioned here:-
http://rs166.rapidshare.com/files/195437755/ttn7.915.9196.vga_black.cab
and
http://rapidshare.com/files/198200402/TT7_915.9196_VGA__Negro.cab
Which one is the one to use that is known to work with our X1s? It looks like both are the same version, but the filesizes are different too, and one says "black" one says "negro"?

915.9196 runs in WVGA (the previous version did, execpt for the flash screen at the start and the keyboard was a bit odd).
The two versions will most likely be colour themes. I'm using the "black" version.
Maps should be purchased via the TomTom Home PC Software.

To get TomTom Home to recognize your install. Make sure you install the cab to your SD card, and then take the SD card out of your device and plug it into your computer using a memory card reader. Either autorun TomTom Home from that point or start it up manually. It will see the files on the card, and recognize your install.

And then tth 2.5 recognize my Xperia and i can download the nordic maps what i buy? What is the best way to remove the program on machine own memory. It enough that it makes the Active Sync? And then re install it the memorycard.

Just another TomTom7 question; figured I'd ask this in here instead of starting a new thread.
Do you guys have your TomTom configured for "Built-in GPS Receiver" or "Other NMEA GPS Receiver"?

I had the voices from when I had TT Mobile6 on my P990. However google or TomTom Home should be able to provide them for you.

Yes, you should be able to remove it using Active Sync. When you reinstall, just make sure that you install the cab to the card, and install the free map to the card as well. And like I said earlier, you MUST plug the micro SD card directly into your computer via a card reader, it cannot be in the phone if you want TomTom Home to recognize it.

ok, so now i have home version 1.5 from this link, UPDate- tried a different card reader & now TT Home allowed access, and I have the voices! ,next searching for maps -Uk &/o western europe
- SO now i went to the website , via link earlier in this thread & registered that i had an 02 diamond & payed for the uk maps, £39.99, 1 hour later i had a confirmation my payment was accepted, but now 3 hours later the status of my order is still "ïnproces" when i launch Tom tom home v1.5, with my card in the reader i had to "change device"from a drop down menu , so selected pocket pc. from tom tomhome if i go to download your updates it says i have none, if i go to the store - it says i have no orders , & the maps are only £29.99!!, though it kinda seems like a different store?? i cliiked on the - ''register for updates button'' which takes you to the website where i did buy the maps ,and says still pending;
any ideas???

Hi, downloaded the 'black' .cab and installed OK. Free map was OK but can't install the map I've bought from tomtom - 'This item cannot be installed on your device' (message in TOMTOM HOME 2.7)
Is there a way to resolve this? Please help as I have spent £29.99 and don't want to have wasted my money.
Many thanks.
