1. The cold boot is very long, your Vox is not stuck, let it finish!
2. The ROM boots in English, to change the language go to "Settings" -> "Regional Settings" and change the Language and Locale!
3. If you want to change the keyboard layout go to My Documents\Keyboard Layouts and install the respective *.cab (uninstalling brings you back to English qwerty) - thanks sblop!!!
4. If you want Clear Fonts, install the attached *.CAB! - thanks Dr. G
5. If you want the pictures taken by the Camera to save into (Storage Card\)My Documents\My Pictures install the second *.CAB I attached! - only applies to WEE version
6. If you want to change the startup and shutdown screens, I attached 2 CABs. One with HTC's screens and one with WM 6.1 screens!

FYI: Rose will be updated with languages soon!

I've play with your rom this night and there is a problem with the camera.
When you have a DCIM directory on your storage card, the pictures are showed on the photo panel on the homescreen and the photos and videos software show it if you select
the storage card, if you select the pictures on the device, it show \My documents\My pictures and the problem is here, when I take a photos it comes directly in My Documents directory (device or storage card), not in my pictures on the device or dcim or pictures on the storage card.

I hope it's possible to fix that. Without this problem, the rom is perfect for me !!!

I can do Hungarian, Greek, Romanian, Dutch and I think Turkish is possible! I don't have the 6.1 files for Spanish. Polish and Czech is possible if you give me a link to a Polish and Czech 6.0-ROM

Polish was in the WWE ROM from HTC too. It'll take a while, because I am very busy this week! But I need to make two more ROMs with languages. I can't fit all of them into one or two ROMs. It was the first time that I ran into space issues during cooking a ROm for the Vox!

The weather panel doesn't work with the CHome version needed for NEO, for the sim contacts see attachement. ;)

mh..es sieht halt irgendwie gleich aus wie ich es bei meinem SDA Music schon hatte, so große Buchstaben, große Symbole etc..finde das wirkt halt irgendwie alt und bisl billig.

Finde die 3. Rom von Zeeshan noch die beste.

You need to uspl your device, i.e. the device is locked hence this error.
Download uspl too from the link and follow the readme file in the attached archive.
I am assuming your device is not SIM locked. Because if it is,then you will have to PM jockeyw2001 for an unlock code (on payment basis)

Hi frauhottelmann, thank you very much for the new DGH release of NeoRose v1.0. I just flashed it and am now running Windows Mobile 6.1 in Dutch for the first time. I have been waiting for this for a long time.

By the way, this ROM is working very good. I haven't had any issues with it yet.

For CommManager you have to go down to the last panel and select it there! When you click on the clock panel it'll obviously open the clock/alarm!

Yes, I have noticed that CHome Config gives you an error when you open it, but it doesn't affect the program!

They can work but you have to change "CHome" to "Neo" in the filenames, for example "CHome_framework_background_p.png" to "Neo_framework_background_p.png". I have done this with blue theme which djpimpek has linked.

I did not include MyFaves. It is an app, that downloads the myFaves from T-Mobile, at least that's what it looked like. I decided not to include it based on that observation.
There are no weather panels in Neo that I know of! And I could not include the HTC weather panel, because they don't work with the CHome version, that is necessary for Neo!

SMS/MMS are not separate any more! I guess you are talking about the splash screen?! There is no splash screen included in this ROM. If you want to change it check my thread about splash screens!

This question has been answered before in a lot of other forums. The answer is to create a folder called Pictures in the root folder of your storage card, and put the pics in them. CHOME should pick it up from there.

Thank you, but that is not the complete theme, those are just bunch of pics that overwrite your existing theme. I am looking for the whole theme with the Dll or exe files that activate the theme. Maybe you can look in your windows folder and post the DLL file ?

There is no CAB for Neo and probably will never be. Neo has to be built into the ROM.

I find a bug: when I was talking and incoming call was comming (i had enable it in settings) i coundn't answer incoming call - i could see calling number, on left softkey was 'answser' but when I were pushing the key nothing happens. Can anyone fix it?

Ich flashed the ROM on my S710. Once i think I killed my mobile.
But then everthing was fine after a reboot.

Could it be that the battery is very fast empty???

Well, if you used WM 6.0 before, then the answer is yes! But (in my opinion) it does a pretty good job for a 6.1 ROM!

first of all thank you very much for making this amazing rom, I really like it.
it feels more robust than other roms i'v tried. There is only one thing, is it possible to instal the sms notification( it is called mortscript I believe) in this rom? I mean the notification where the phone vibrates every minute when you have a unread sms or conversation. and if it is possible, how can I get it on my phone? :)

Unfortunately you can't change that in the settings any more with the newer version. I don't know why. You can only change it in the registry. I don't remember the specific reg-key. Search the Rose threads...

Try downloading the latest radio from xda's ftp site and flash it, may be your radio is screwed up. The ftp address is available on the Vox wiki page.

i've a really huge problem!

when i'm listening to music (kinoma;tcpmp;audio manager) it plays my music on loudspeaker(and in headpohones but less volume)


this is very anoying! and if i open the sms or even if i delete it, it just plays on both headphones and loudspeaker. but i would like to not activating the loudspeaker when theres a sms coming in! or if no other way it should play loudspeaker till i red the sms! but no longer as this disturbes very much!

No, sorry that is not possible, since Neo needs a special CHome version, which you can't install with a CAB or similar!

Still testing the ROM:-)

First I switched off threated SMS-es (horrible idea) by two reg keys.
Now there is problem with setting SMS Options:
- when I choose "Start->Messaging->SMS/MMS->Menu->Tools->Options" the 4th item ("Account settings") is disabled,
- so, there is no possibility to PERMANENTLY switch-on the SMS delivery report (how to do it? now I must add the request to every message I send),
- also - no possibility to swich-on Unicode coding with SMS,
- by the way - Anybody knows why the gave SMS and MMS together in WM61 menu? And why "New" is not under the softkey?

As I wrote earlier, threated sms-es are solved now for me.
What still is not resolved:
- how to get the "Options" of sms-es menu? (as described in my post earlier)
- how to permamently (not for each sms separately) set ON the message delivery reporting (when you send the message you get the confirmation that the sms was deliveried)
- how to set ON the Unicode codning of sms messages
- also - now I see it analogical - how to get to MMS Options? Not MMS settings, where you set the APN etc, just to MMS Options, where you can set for example default appended to MMS picture size?

All of this options are present in standard, official ROM...

check the Rose (S740) User manual - it is the ROM form there, so the options should be found there. The SMS is where it always was (options), but the MMS settings I could not find either. I don't use it for Radio currently, so I don't care (yet).

i find you rom to be very fast and elegant,
but i am afraid i can not write anything in Greek. When i try to change the language and click on the GREEK option it is simply not possible. I can change the language between all the others i.e. English, Dutch, Hungarian but for some reason not Greek... Please tell me what to do since its impossible to do my job without any Greek messages and notes.
P.S. the menu and everything else is possible to change into Greek...but not writing. Do i have to download anything else?

i just noticed that it seems impossible to use the fn+sym shortcut at the messaging screen (sms/mms).
the shortcut fn+space shortcut also behaves strangely.
the menu for choosing between xt9, abc, etc. doesn't open.
it's just changing between 12# and abc, because of the fm-key.
or is is normal behaviour for wm6.1? is there a fix or hack?
i tried different keyboard layouts, without any success.
it's really bothering me not to be able to use special-characters.

You need the part of the SYS folder as well. The modules that are contained therin need to be converted to files. Look up for the G'reloc thread you need the recmod tool to do this.
I have seen another tool "nuerecmod" here: http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/page/nueRecMod.aspx that has done a better job for some tries I did in the past.

hello tobbbie, frauhottelmann and community, I have read the g'reloc thread but it's more complicated as I think.

1. I have dumped the ROM
2. Do I have to replace the folder ROM and SYS from the ROMDUMP (RUU_TORNADO_WM6.1_19202_Clean_0.4b) with them from frauhottelmann?
3. Then I have to use g'reloc, but how can I get the right values?
4. After then I can plug the MUIs into the ROM on my device?

Why dump the ROM? frauhottelman had sent you the dumped parts already (the OEM and SYS folders).
- now take all 0407 mui files (dll+exe) copy them to a temp directory
- then take all 0407 modules and convert them one-by-one into files (recmod or nuerecmod)
- then copy all 0407 mui files to the windows directory on your device
- the change the registry that 0407 and 0409 are available mui
- reboot
- change the language to German
- reboot

Many things should be German then, but settings will not. This is much more complicated, frauhottelmann does multilanguage ROMs, so he knows all the details. And - you must cook it into a ROM, no simple copy.

If you want to start cooking - have a few weeks vacation and read a lot...

P.S.: we are discussing a Tornado activitiy in the VOX forum and in dedicated ROM thread - we should move to a place where this is more appropriate.
