Hello,
Today my Diamond probably died.. in fact it is MDA Compact IV.
I got new battery from ebay (original 1340mah from HTC). I put new battery to MDA but it didn't start. I tried to plug charger, but there is all time such situation:
- d-pad shine twice like during charging,
- one vibra ring
- splash screens
- turn off after about 10 seconds
I change battery with old one but there is the same problem.
I can make Hard Reset, I can enter bootloader mode, but nothing more.
Vibra, splash, reset again and again. If I pull off charger- phone is dead, there is no possibility to switch on.
Does anybody know such problem? Is there any solution? I read somewhere that is probably dead mainboard, is it true?
Please somebody help me, I got my MDA only one week :(
There was warranty but I installed HardSPL and unofficial ROM, so I can't turn it to service :(

Does the phone reset when you're in bootloader as well?

No, I can enter bootloader mode.
I have such words on screen:
DIAM200 MFG 64M
SPL-1.40.OliNex
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
PSOC-Vict STAGE_PVT v0x20
USB.
It stays in bootloader. I can quit bootloader by soft reset. If I pull charger off then Diamond turns off.

you sure no liquid went in? or any falls?
if not - probably a faulty ROM or Radio... what you can try to do is first fully charge your phone (just keep it turned off and attached to charger).
once charged fully (you can tell by the d-pad light) when in bootloader, connect it to USB to your computer. it should change from Serial to USB on your phone. then flash a radio (preferably the one that came stock) via the Custom RUU method.
if that doesn't work... repeat steps above for a ROM...
and make sure u keep your fingers crossed :) good luck!

Ok, situation for today looks this way:
1. I can't turn the phone ON.
2. If I connect phone to charger or PC phone turns ON. There is one vibra ring and splash screen without numbers in corner (ROM, radio etc). Splash screen in ON for about 10-12 second, then phone is rebooting. It going all around continuously.
3. During displaying splash screen I CAN enter bootloader mode or make hard reset. If I enter to bootloader and plug charger off then phone turns OFF.
In bootloader mode there is such text on display:
DIAM200 MFG 64M
SPL- 1.40. OliNex
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
pSOC-Vict STAGE_PVT v0x20
USB.
Windows in my PC makes sound as connected UBS equipment, but ActiveSync is not connected (grey).
4. After running bootloader mode I CAN run DiamondCustomRUU.exe. It looks like updates, ROM, Radios are installed- indicator is running in my PC and also on Diamond screen. After finishing installation there is again: reset, vibra, splash screen 10-12 second, reset, vibra... etc.
I tried to install many ROM, Radios and all SPL but final is always the same.
5. I tried to install original SPL- installation looks successful, but after reset in bootloader mode there is still: SPL- 1.40. OliNex. This point is most strange for me.
6. I can connect via mtty (but activesync is still gray), but I don't know commands for mtty and I don't know what more can I do through mtty.
For me right now most important is to turn SPL back- then I can return device to service.
Does anybody knows some solutions? I'm opened for any suggestions...
Thanks,

go and stay in boot loader mode (tri-stripe colored bands) and flash with custom ruu another rom, have you tried this simple step?
EDIT: sorry I read right now you tried, so bad, so unlucky!

Seems like the battery contacts on Ur device are faulty - The gold plating might have worn out and the contact with battery terminals is bad, so device registers critical battery and shuts off.
Try cleaning the contacts with a piece cotton or a soft cloth soaked in alcohol on all the contacts. (avoid too much - should not enter the device!!)

Could you try charging your battery without phone?
