ok, installed and running.
First impression on first 15 mins
1. looks good!
2. scrolling not very smooth but am not complaining.
3. SMS works but no MMS?
4. The Today screen needs a little time getting used to. I miss the previous today screen where you can see your appointments at a glance. i think it's too crowded. Now I have to scroll down to see the status of calendar, messages, etc. still have to play with it to give final verdict though.
5. Task Manager available upper right and working battery meter, yay!
6. menu changed to honeycomb scrolling. I think it's just eye candy
7. Games are back. Can they be uninstalled? Can use the memory.

that's it for now. will install other cab files included.

This is the greatest ROM yet!

Almost all bugs/missing components from previous versions are fixed. just had to add HTC Network wizard to configure GPRS so I can surf the internet. Also added the sent SMS notification patch and it's working. Did anyone install the additional cab files (flashlite and IE6.1) what are they for?

I feel like I just bought a new PDA phone!:D

I have tried previously the WinMo 6.5 with HTC Universal and HTC Hermes but none of those devise ROMs were functional as good as THIS ONE.. SUN_DREAMS ROMS is just perfect.

I have one issue though. I dont know is it my own issue or anyone of you have this as well: I get Exchange Activesync error 80070057. By the first time the emails from exchange can be downloaded and there is no error but by the second attempt to sync. I receive the error... Anyone has the same issue??

1. SMS works fine with me so it's just probably a setup thing.
2. battery meter is shown at upper right corner in mine.
3. The huge menu is a plug-in of the Today screen. You can remove it and show the usual format of previous Windows mobile by checking/uncheking TITANIUM in the Today screen setup.
4. i do not understand the question. Can you please clarify?
5. Do you mean the threaded messages? You can download a patch somewhere here in xda-developers to remove that although I have not tested it on 6.5. just search the forums.

Here same problem but I got error 80004005.

Calendar - OK
Contacts - OK
Email - NOT WORKING :mad: It lists messages but cannot download them
Tasks - OK


Tryied on several PCs. Same Activesync configuration (Exchange 2003 Push) works on Hyma 6.1 (I can do comparative tests because I have 2 Hymas).

BTW Spectec SDIO WiFi cards works fine on this ROM :)

You mean your push mail is functional?? what is the version of the exchanger server.

you're right, it cannot download email from exchange server especially with the attachment.

for the lock problem, just change the unlock display settings to windows classic..hope that this issue gets resolved in the next build coz it's really cool especially when unlocking the phone..

For the time bomb issue, i've tried to change the system date to 2011 I don't know if this test is good but i've noticed no prob...
I've encounter a prob after the install of touchpal 3.5 the start menu doesn't appear anymore ???
With office 6.1 provided as a cab , there is a bug when I trying to open an office document by the explorer , but works when I do it by the "open" function of office.
I have the unlock prob....
And the scroll is sometimes smooth sometimes not ...

one more thing is a possible bug with the display of notification message, the window title seems .... to small for the text ....

Again nice work very impressive and assuming that Sun_Dream has found a new build more responsive for blue angel I'm awaiting nervously the next release for hima...

Tomtom tries to find a GPS when it starts up and in doing so slows the Hima down when it can't find one and then eventually crashes. I install ttn7.910.9185 to the RAM disk. Responds very well. Don't remove the battery! RAM needs power to retain information unlike flash memory. Just like how XP has to be booted all the time. Connect power through USB/AC charger if possible.

Could someone please post the 'Windows 6.5 theme' from Sundream's previous 6.5 rom (21169) as it is not with his latest rom (21189).

I have been trying this rom on my XDA2 and it seems to work fine. The lock problem appears to be fixed but i need to see if the battery usage is better as the previous rom on my XDA2 consumed 20% plus in 9hrs compared to 5-6% 0n my previous 6.1 Rom.

One thing further i noticed is that for the first time i was unable to update the operator on the NK.nbf file using the excellent 'XDA2nbftool'.

I found out that if you start with your finger on the background then the background moves. If you start with your finger in the bar (take note. empty part of the bar) then the bar moves. Although its not consistent.

Exchange error confirmed. First synchronization (just after flash) worked then error 80070057. No matter hard reset the error came back (using wifi internet connection too, so no matter pc configuration).

i'm having problems using novii media remote (i love using my hima as a universal remote)..i keep on receiving an error message..infrared works fine on the previous rom..anyone else who's having the same problem? by the way, i already tried to hard reset the device..and also, my hima keeps on rebooting everytime i tried to troubleshoot the problem..

OS runs fine on my Himayala - using Build 21189

But i have also problems using the Infrared Port - Neither "beaming" files nore using an app like NoviiRemote 4.11 (Runs fine on my Acer N50 ) does work properly.

Ive just imstalled 21189 tried to run mms 4.2.8.1 arcsoft but everytime i go to install and click the .cab i hear a clicking sound but nothing happens. its like its trying to install but doesnt, with any .cab not just the mms one. tried runnimg from memory card and device too but to no avail.

Hi , i got it when i downloaded the another version, (21169) along with the network wizard too. I dont think its the .cab thats the problem as i cant install any .cab applications for some reason thats why ive had to reinstall 21169 for the time being and it works fine on here installation wise

You could try opening office first (pocket word for example) then browse the document that you want to view/open. For my hima, i used resco file explorer application to assign pocket word / any office mobile app to open a certain file..

I would like to thank you for a great Rom, ver 21189 works well for me but i do have one small issue i hope you can help me with.

I have now established that i get an increase in battery drain by 3% hour if i pair my XDA2 with my external bluetooth gps device and that's with bluetooth turned off!!!

So in a 9 hour period, overnight, with bluetooth off and the phone switched into standby mode my battery will drain by about 23%, if i delete the bluetooth partnership with my gps device the phone consumes 5% in 9 hours. I have repeated this process several times and the outcome is the same.

Have you any idea what might be causing this, is it a problem with the rom or am i missing something?

This ROM is fast and there is no doubt about it, plus it has some great features :D.

However, there are few bugs which I would like to mention here, perhaps which can be fixed in next version?

1: When you turn into a classic Today screen, you see two "Contact" options on the status bar.

2: Microsoft Office does not work in this ROM. I am using one of the Office 2007 Cab file and upon loading it gives unhandled error.

3: I installed youtube player (which didn't run due to low space) however now I can't uninstall it because its not listed under Add/Remove programs.

4: The text options and icons are quite big, I am not sure how to shorten them.

5: Although the device runs fast, when rebooting it takes quite some time to load. Perhaps it's due to 6.5 ver?

6: Can we have device lock feature in the "Windows default" mode too? (this is only enabled in classic mode at the moment), additionally when the device is locked can we make that lock to be in the centre of the screen instead of on top? instead clock can go on top? (this is just a thought)

I am evaluating it further so if I see any further errors I will report it here.

Do you know if we can setup the location of our photos and videos to our SD cards? On the main menu the Photos section and Music section is pointing to device memory. I want to point it to my SD card so that I can have all those photos from there.

Great work Sun dream....just amazing! Can't believe my Qtek is able to do all this advanced stuff..

I just want to know how to enable Landscape Display...There is no icon on home screen. Although I have been able to see the Rotatescreen.exe and .ink files in Windows folder, but how to make an icon appear on the screen?

Also, landscape feature should also be available while viewing photos.

You can choose landscape mode from settings > system > screen, or change your today screen to default without titanium.

I have a big problem with office, the file association problem... but this is resolved (in part) and now when i trying to open office files pword hang "unexpected error" sometimes with ".doc" sometimes with ".docx" , I've tried to install and reinstall all version that i've found and verify "open" command for docfiles in registry but nothing... i've also tryed to install Document to go in place but it is unable to open somes documents (saying errors on open) ...
i don't want to hard reset my device and i wonder if I forgot the problem since the next release from Sun_Dream.
Is anyone has a solution ....

I've tried many ways from the internet to solve the error 8070057 in Activesync but to no avail. I have however, identified the error coming from syncing email with Microsoft Outlook, tried resolving the error in database but still the same. I ended up setting my email in Himalaya manually and turn off the syncing with Outlook. Would appreciate if anyone have the solution to this error.

I have a similar experience with rom build 21189, I have my xda II attached to the cradle (connected to my laptop-> vista). Whenever I receive an sms, it vibrates continuously while still in the cradle and even when I remove it from there. It only stops vibrating when I turn it off.

Another one, I don't know if this is an isolated case but on the today screen, when I receive an sms the left and right menu changes but doesn't work. Originally (without sms received) it says "contacts" and "compose". Both menus works fine and when I have a new sms, the menu changes t "notification" and "view". when I click notification, it's ok but when I click view, it goes to sms composer, just like what "compose" does. Isn't it suppose to show me the sms I received?

Masters, I'm not complaining, I'm just saying this are just teeny weeny little bugs.

i just went to the whole topic and read each andy every post but i am suffering from strange problem with my Qtek 2020. I have flashed my ppc rom with sun dream's WM 6.5 build 21169 but many strange things have happened.

1- I have downloaded both WWE/CHS Flash Rom but extracted WWE in one folder with HimupgradeUT_noID inside but after flash its showing WM 6.X CHS in booting

2- Battery is draining really fast i have noticed my Qtek 2020 now doesn't turn off fully when on standby and keys of Calls are still glowing.

3- My Network Service Provider seems to be not fine as SMS are not coming by other numbers until i dont start sending first to them and its now impossible to Call on any number when ever "DIALING" starts, Signals of Network are off.


Please help me i would be grateful

No I am not experiencing this kind of problem. the main issue is of my signals of service provider which keeps on fluctuating from No Service to High after every minute and now just saw new thing. I cant even send sms more than 160 characters:(

This file should be copied into your Windows folder, afterwards you will notice the UI in the Settings menu.

Sadly, I'm no longer using Sun Dream's WM6.5 ROM because of the Exchange Server bug but I think I remember the soft keys were application driven rather than fixed shortcuts?

truefriend, I get the same screen however if you boot 3/4 times it loads. It surely is very slow upon rebooting however it does work.

Same problem with later 21189 rom eventuallly easily solved.........:)

You just have to hard reset your device.
Press simultaneously: Reset Button + CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.

Select the options as follows:
(to select items use Record Button, to change values use Camera Button)

Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES

Select the options as above:
(Record Button, to change values use Camera Button)

Afternoon all,

Strangely enough, XDA finds my GPS Bluetooth device, adds it into the list however does not connect it. It shows it under disconnected devices.

Upon selecting "serial port" under "Edit" it still does not connect. If I uncheck that option it disables the "Connect" button.

Why isn't it connecting? I have no idea.

Any help will be appereciated.

Hello, All. Great job Sun_Dream.
Power consumption seems to be at least as good as a CShekkar, which is my reference.
I had the issue with ActiveSync 80070057. It started after I installed a piece of software from my PC through ActiveSync. Does not happen with CAB install for me.
Another synchronization error came from the flag in "USB to PC" setting. I unchecked and it has worked fine.
Both of them happens randomly. One flash it does not work, the nextone it will. Kind of strange.
21189 is faster than 21169. Both are working fime on my Hima.
The only issue I found is that while being in landscapemode, when using camera the picture is turned by 90 degrees. Funny...

When you press Answer nothing happens and when you press ignore nothing happens. You can't unlock the phone either because the Answer/Ignore menu comes on the screen.

what rom are you use? in the 21169 version there is problem with the lock key(see the recent post in this thread), and the problem has solved in the 21189 version.. if you're using the 21189 version, there is no problem with the lock, and when comes a call you must press the answer key and drag it to right for answer and so if you wanna ignore it.

you may slide the answer button to the left/right if you want to answer the call... dont press the button!.... that is the beauty of this ROM...

Yup. You SLIDE the buttons and not press them. i also made that mistake when I first installed this ROM.

urrently Syed Ather's WM 6.0

Its giving me issues related to my network.
Signals are fluctuating, i cant make calls, neither recieve them, get messages in delay time more often, It avoids making me save contacts in sim card but after several attempts it succeeds.

Please Help me out. I am not getting this issue when i downgrade back to my Official Qtek 2020 1.72 Rom.:(

Afternoon all,

Strangely enough, XDA finds my GPS Bluetooth device, adds it into the list however does not connect it. It shows it under disconnected devices.

Upon selecting "serial port" under "Edit" it still does not connect. If I uncheck that option it disables the "Connect" button.

Why isn't it connecting? I have no idea.

Any help will be appereciated.

Reefsucks, you are right. I by mistake dragged the icon today and it worked :D. I didn't realize that it was set to a draggable button as any ordinary guy would think of pressing it and not dragging the icon.

I think it is safe to say that if you haven't been getting any sound over every WM OS that you've used, the problem is hardware, not software.

about the bluetooth, maybe there is problem from the rom coz i've never could connects with the sony ericsson'a device..i can send them files but i can't receive files from them,even i tried to switch on the IR+bluetooth both, i still can't receive the files.
maybe others have some answer for this problem.

I have read those threads. But I have a solution. Pair your Bluetooth GPS. Once paired do not add anything else i.e serial port or outgoing ports. Install Fransons' GPSgate (I installed ver 2.6). Run the program up. In the wizard unselect all but wireless and then tap >. It should find the GPS automatically. Once finished, take note of the virtual comm port and use that for Tomtom, GarminXT... I had run Tomtom twice before it picked up the GPS. Good luck all.

Hello. I made some progress with error 80070057.
It happens only when I start synchronize EMails from Outlook we are using in the company. As soon as stop Sync EMails, no problem.
I am using 21189 since 2 full days without reflashing, so far so good. We can connect to the company through a WebClient, so I will just use this for now.
I am surprised that so many people have all these problems with phone fluctuation, GPS Bluetooth connection using the same version.

It didn't gone upon deaf ears, I did look into what you have mentioned however I was thinking to make the bluetooth work from within the OS instead of installing another software on it.

Sometimes people tend not to answer on the suggestions which other might have mentioned for some reason :D.

Anyhow, Apologies for not answering back so quick, I will try your method too if I can't make it to work tonight (currently at work so can't test anything).

Yeah, third party software is a hassle, but at least it is a temporary way around and it only solves one part of the bluetooth problem.

Yoooohooooo!!!! It worked with COM5. This is what I did

1: Search for Bluetooth
2: Select my GPS system
3: Enter Passkey
4: Click Advance and select Serial
5: Click Outgoing port
6: Select COM5
7: Open TomTom and configure
8: Select COM5
9: You are done :D

That's how I made it to work.

So you were right COM5 does work pretty well.

Hi all, i just upgraded to wm 6.5 187 recently, great cook.. very fast and stable. everything work just fine. BUT, I found one bug, everytime I send SMS the phone always freezes. it took about a minute to return to the inbox or home.. even sometimes it freezes for good, i had to soft reset the device.

I use SMS very often so its very anoying. Does anyone have the same problem? o yea, I have thousands of sms in my inbox, is that causing the problem? during wm 6.1 I've never had this problem. I really love wm 6.5 and dont want to downgraded to wm 6.1 again. Any solution ?

+ found another bug.. sometimes it takes a long time to load threaded sms :(
+ update: I deleted all my inbox.. still no joy, so it's not bcause i have too much sms in my inbox. my hima freezes everytime i tap text(sms) or email ! help !!

The 89 build is working great..

Having problem in connecting with PC (Vista)...it takes very long to connect, and automatically disconnects after 5-10 minutes. After that the PC doesn't recognise the device at all, and I cannot connect.

Tried checking and unchecking the 'enable advanced network functionality'...Connection only possible in checked state, but once above-mentioned problem occurs then it doesn't work either.


Please help..

Hello, yes there aren't such major problems with it however it almost depends how much do you use it and what you use it for.

For me I use it from 8am till 9pm everyday so I am prone to find errors with it, which I try to mention it here from time to time.

It's a great ROM and there is no doubt about it however there are some issues which I am sure Sun Dream is working on :D. I feel with our help he'll be able to make even more stable ROM :D

Since I wanted to have the wwe version I search for it but instead found build 21501 wwe but if was for BA and the creator of it is sundream. Hopefully sundream would make rom build 21501 for himalaya . . .

CHS is Chinese! WWE is English. I recommend the English one for English speakers :). It's amazing that the old Himalaya can run WinMo 6.5 so well.

I think you have to reflash the ROM however I am not even sure you have downloaded the English version of the ROM or not.

Could you please post the file name you downloaded?

If it is English version and you have reflash and yet it is in Chinese then you have to clear the Registry and anothe option from yoru Hima. I think you have to press reset button by holding down Record+Camera button.

You have to clear two options from it and then restart you Hima ( I am sorry I can't exactly remember the options - perhaps when you get to that stage you can post it here or someone who does remember can let us know :D.)

Save it on your pc..hold the power button + action button + reset button, then release the reset button - SERIAL should appear on your screen then run HimaupgradeUT.exe on your pc..wait for the upgrade to finish then that's it..
