GPS in australia

Im trying to use my VZW 6800 for GPS in australia, but cant get a lock.

obviously i have no network coverage here, ive tried using gpsviewer, and htc gps tool, and i see some sats, but dont get a lock.

anyone have any success stories or know what i need to be doing? i havent changed any settings since i used it in the US, and my settings should be in line with the aGPS fix that i applied months ago.

But the gps is hit and miss without CDMA coverage. I think we are finally blaming it on subpar gps drivers.
