Everything seems alright, BlueT is work ok, 3G network and WIFI are ok.
Traditional Chinese display ok (with the software from http://www.studiokuma.com/wm/?section=support)
Traditional Chinese input not ok, you can install and select the SIP, but the on screen keyboard won't come up)

Tried this already, so far so good. Some error messages specifically when opening the getting started apps. One concern would be when your closing an application using the x button it doesn't totally close and resides in the memory that causes a slowdown. But still quite satisfied with it. :D

Atom Life is the worst phone I've got so far.
So I missed countless call & SMS.

I've tested this ROM and I must say that there are a lot of quite nice ideas in it.

1) Honey comb is a nice idea, but only for devices with d-pad and windows button, but it's totally lame for finger usage (slow and unresponsive). But I give it 8/10 for intuitive icon layout.

2) Finger scrolling is very good, intuitive and sensitive way of navigation in IE or FExplorer. Sometimes scrolls only 2 lines but it's just like in iShit (upss... I meant i-Shit-Phone of course :) )

3) New menus are easily accessible (I was afraid of that idea but works good)

4) New MessageBoxes don't have Ok button (just tap on them to say goodbye) - unintuitive but ok.

5) TabControls look cool, but have problems when there are more then 4 tabs - it shows very ugly and awkward looking arrows. Tabs sometimes blink showing their true form (without rounded corners)

6) Cool main screen transparency and rounded icons.

And now the BUGS:

1) GIGANTIC MEMORY LEAK - this ROM doesn't release memory (check memory, run some programms, close them in Task Manager and see that Your memory is still at low level - WTF MS?!

2) Main screen is ONLY TRANSPRENT when Titanium plugin is on. Lame again MS!

3) Many problems with Today refreshing during Titanium/Honey Comb usage (lack of upper transparency)

4) On Today screen, clock and battery can't be accessed on clicking upper icons

5) Titanum when scrolling down sometimes walks on invisible positions

6) Lots of unneded icons in Windows folder (for Titanum and Honey Comb of course!) - why MS apps don't use it's internal resources (or dlls with resources) instead of ready bitmaps!!

7) New system uses now... - 30MB !!! Geez !!! (Titanum uses 1.5MB itself)

Those are the issues with WM6.5 itself - not ROM maker, which IMHO made a very good job. Still hoping that in new version there will be less bugs (especially the first one which makes me return to my old WM6.1).

Installing WKTASK 1.2 takes care of most of the memory issues.

Just one issue however. You cannot close the "Start" screen with the right hand top "X" button. Well actually you can and that is the problem. You then cannot open start again without rebooting.

To avoid this simply close the "Start" screen by selecting the "Start" icon or select "Today" from within the Start screen.

The only way to end it is disable the sound notification for new Text message or do a soft-reset, unfortunately, with the latter method, the problem starts again as soon as a new SMS is received.

On the contrary, since nobody has mentioned about it, i hope it is not a setting which i am missing somewhere, if it is, can you please guide me.

Good work.
I extract this ROM and replace the WINCE.NLS with the new one which support China PRC locale and flashed it to my Atom Life, it's so beautiful, I can read Chinese, I like it.
But one Problem I found,
I can install some SIP for Chinese typing, there are no SIP can work with this rom. I have tried, A4 2.0.45, PlumSIP 6.01 and TouchPal. Any ideas? Hope 21176 will solve it.

Actually that's the bug i encountered eventhough message has been read msgtone stil continues. About the layout of the program, try to make a long tap on the specific program then it will show you an option to move it to the top. Hope this helps. Thanks !!!

hey guys :)

flashed my xda comet / htc atom life before 1 hour and yeah...it works fine for me :) it is really fast and not slow like the 6.5 on a tytn from a friend of mine... now we can be happy to have the 624mhz processor in our atom's ;D

i'll check the standby-times and some stuff of the OS tomorrow...we'll see.
but maybe this OS solves my problem with my xda... he always turns off without reason...sometimes when the accu is above 80 percent...sometimes it works for days... and when it turns off, i cant use him before making a soft-reset ( or 3 oder 4 ) .. really strange. but ok, we'll see if the os maybe fixes that. i've read in some threads that i am not the only one with this problem. ( they also talk about 8 hours stand-by-time and so on, and thats all the problems i have too)

It' really fast and also allow to use SIP, but i have flash back to w6.1, due to can't setup the mobile internet.

The latest ROM... truly amazing.. Its smooth EVEN ON BEST POWER settings (The Honeycomb start menu & the today screen).

Okay changes i've noticed so far:


The menus are finger friendly, following the FingerMenu Layout and functionality (i'm hoping its universal - it works with all apps)
the Contacts Application is finger friendly - its very Similar to PocketCM except the scrollbar is solid and omfg. it deleted all my phone contacts.. <_< but nonetheless its fairly good.
The File explorer removes the need for 3rd party explorers such as Resco
The keyboard... SUCKS!!!!!!!! its still that annoying g** tiny black and white keyboard which requires a stylus and a VERY steady hand.. maybe a surgeons coordination.
Very Nice Comm Manager
No change to volume control
No change to Calender
Messaging still looks the same but reading messages is a lot easier with the drag feature. Also worth mentioning its not threaded anymore.
Calculator is nice
2 Games, Solitaire and Bubble Breaker, nothing new..
The Call screen isnt too bad.. the buttons are still miniature
WMP... still WMP10.
No taskbar like desktop Windows/WKTASK

Final comments
Microsft... WTF? you make everything finger friendly except the Volume Control, The keyboard and the Bloody notifications.. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING! but regardless of these significant flaws WM6.5 is extremely smooth even on Power Save for the Atom Life and it boasts some really great features such as the new Today Screen, the exceptional Contacts App and the New File Explorer. One other thing worth mentioning is how Smooth the new menus are. They've adapted FingerMenu's concept to an Operating system but when you look back.. they should have done so from the very start. And thats my Rant for now. if you havent tried the latest beta by chriscsh... then do so. If you dont like it, go back xD

ALSO: chriscsh, You might wanna Add Thumbcal 0.5.1 to the ROM along with the iTouch registry values and WKTask (If it works lol). Those really are the only ones i can see that would be very useful... Opera might be good too but its really you're decision.

Great work, mate! I'm glad that you use the kitchen I used to cook this... But it's somehow surprising that the kitchen can cook WM6.5 ROM, 'cause the G'Reloc tool shouldn't be suitable for WM6.5 for some chefs:confused:(nevertheless, I haven't test that:p).

By the way, the kitchen wasn't made by me... As I remember(I apologize if I'm wrong), it should be medkid's present for me(but it's not his work neither). And it seems that it's a Chinese product, maybe it's from qq108108108:rolleyes:...?

Anyway... Go onwards guy! WM6.5 is a challenge but I know you can do it! I'm waiting for the latest known build 21196:D!

It's THE BEST ROM EVER!!!
Very fast and responsive. No issues so far.
After standard reg tweaking even faster - iPhone hides and blushes :D

One problem though - RAM eater (30MB on boot and after playing 5-6MB more, which gives about 14-15MB for user, but what the hell...).

They improved memory releasing (now it works much better) and Titan (now named Windows Default plugin) is working correctly. Honey comb is very responsive but now it doesn't have hc lines (don't know why).

Messaging is still threaded, not like someone here said.

My ROM no 1, now.

the Contacts Application is finger friendly - its very Similar to PocketCM except the scrollbar is solid and omfg. it deleted all my phone contacts.. <_< but nonetheless its fairly good.

This rom is good except for Microsoft's bugs

The ROM cook can only improve this release by
- more free ram - only 20mb :/ just liek MWg's its OK, needs a tweak to get it to 28
- registry tweaks already done :)
- more software simmilar to PDA VIET style roms

over all thank you good work. Rom is stable as much as can be expected for beta- seems to crash for text messages on occasion.

Comments on the Today plug in
- meh all hype not much function
- at least it makes transparency available for other developers to create better similar style plug in.

It's THE BEST ROM EVER!!!
Very fast and responsive. No issues so far.
After standard reg tweaking even faster - iPhone hides and blushes :D

One problem though - RAM eater (30MB on boot and after playing 5-6MB more, which gives about 14-15MB for user, but what the hell...).

You did a very very good work. I have flash the 21189 on my atom life.
Everything is ok, all the SIP work very well.
The speed is amazing, close to the well developed wm6.1 and smooth on the scoll.
I also try the bt handfree, ok on call, ok on listen to music and ok to use the handfree to goto next or previous song.

Some minor bugs found....same as the post above, the error msg show after setup the camera function.
And media player endless looping after update library.
Also the hexagon menu....it will never come up after click the "X" to close it. I always use "back" or click "today" to instead of "X" to avoid the bugs.
Finally, i try to connect with "M$ my phone", and it keep tell me wrong password even i know i enter the correct one.

A important thing .....the atom life maybe not halted, it just freeze for few second when atom life have no feedback.

But Chriscsh, you did a great job. I am very happy with this beta 2 version.
Keep go on the next one .... beta 3. thx.

PS: the calculator is not work.

I have fixed the problem with text messaging
the solution is to TURN OFF CHAT STYLE SMS. seems liek it cannot handle large conversations. - I thinks its the pretty gfx fault

After disabling some unneeded Titanum (CHome actually) plugins, and turning off all cuties (menus, msgboxes, context menus, sliders) I now have ~21MB on boot :D.

However, encountered issue with activesync, please help if anyone has experienced this before.

The problem is that I can not make changes to my contacts, task, schedule or email, it will shows error 0x80070057 during the subsequent synchronization. But if i do not open any email or make any changes, activesync will works and receiving new emails on the subsequent synchronization.

Following is my setup:-
Set up the MS Exchange connection (not via PC) and sync via HSDPA connection for all information such contacts, email, schedule and task. (synchronization will success for the first time the profile being created).

After reading email or made changes to contact, task or schedule, activesync will fail and shows error 0x80070057.

When I revert back to the WM6.1, all the above works well.???

Very nice ROM indeed! A few bugs but tolerable. Been using for about 4 days now and still working fast. Battery seems ok, 1 day to 1 1/2 days under normal use. The only thing I missed alot is the program launcher, you have to click start to enter the menu...hehehe

But I would give a two thumbs up! Thanks chriscsh for the wonderful ROM....

It will work my friend. After installation, go to start\setting\system and look for the task manager icon (not the task manager with the monitor icon). Then click the BUTTon tab, check the box "Enable Quick Menu on Today screen". Then soft reset....cheers!:)

For anyone who has trouble to use voice dial with bluetooth handset (error shortcut ...) just copy 'voice speed dial.lnk' to \windows\appbuttons\ and make sure the button already mapped properly

This one is a little less stable then previous.
I was able to crash it by only disabling LiveMessenger service.

The rest is the same as old.
No reg tweaks, record button doesn't work at all, and this ROM is starting to fill with unneded software (HTC Task Manager, HTC Calculator - what for?!).

I think I'll wait untill more stable and cleaner version will appear.

2. Please add the FREE-RAM cleaner from the PDA VIET roms

3. more free RAM. I use GPS and want to see more than 16mb free on average. My program needs 15mb.
You may need to use a kitchen based off an O2 rom since MWG usually has less free ram.

I got RECORD WORKING by getting my trusty AE buttons- i added the button.

I successful logon to msn, download MSN live messenger http://rapidshare.com/files/135310429/Windows_Live_10.6.0034.0800__Fixed_.cab and reinstall onto your device, DO NOT install to your mem card, so it can be overwrite the original MSN on ur 21195 Rom

seems that the battery lasts much longer now.... and so far no sudden power-offs.
the only thing, i'd like to change is the items on the homescreen ( i really dont need voicemail for example ) and maybe a visible honeycomb design in the start menu....without the grid it`s a bit confusing

Continue our last thread, I agree with aa125690, that internet connection problem regarding ROM 21198 is very essential, because i'm using GPRS/3G for direct push ms exchange at my work, so i decided to back to ROM 21195. Thank you Jaypee2k6 for sharing the solution above and aa125690 to confirm that, and finally, it works like a charm
after rename you should wait sometime before it takes effect, then go to Setting --> personal --> Button (as you can see record button has changed to top position before the others button, and make sure map the record button to record... cool :)

If you wanna read Simplified Chinese, why don't you use a Simplified Chinese ROM? Many WM6.5 ROMs for Atom Life can be found in bbs.592ppc.com, bruce.5d6d.com and many other mainland chinese forums.

It is advised to install this version into your MiniSD card, but you can also install it in \Root. The *.lnk file provided is for the MiniSD card installation, so if you install the program into the main memory, you have to create a shoutcut in the Start Menu manually;).

I only used it to read & compose sms.
As started to change my rom since medkid's version till TranMinhMan's version, i don't encountered any problem to install with simplified chinese sip except on this wm6.5 version.

Still prefer to have the rom in english version.:)

I am using beta 3, and i realize that when i click on any icons at the top it is not showing up.

At a point i was able to tap on the speaker icon and change the sound volume and vibration, but now i cant, my phone is now stuck in vibration mode.

just to say I've tried many, many roms and this one works great on my atom life.
I went back from beta 4 to beta 3 , 'cause of the full qwerty (missing in beta 4?!), and I've no problem anymore of the atom life shutting down at 40% battery as with other roms !
Missing though some adds on...the light on , opera, few nice games, and a nice calculator ( with % ) that I got 'em elsewhere.
Congratulations ..very happy overall, muchfaster, much easier to worrk ... love my atom again ! :)

Dude, Even in 21195 ROM also Windows Live is not working/connecting.

I have installed Windows Live from following link:

most people prefer stuff to come preinstalled to save them time and effort

i agree some basic items should be kept.

From beta's i like the following:
new camara- thank you so much - i use my camera more.:)
HTC album- better then stock
HTC task manager- nice to have
htc style communicator - mainly because it can be edited with Advanced config. to add beam or what ever i need/

Please add a memory cleaner- the free memory from PDA viet worked well.

in order to Advanced Configuration Tools works properly you should install .net compact framework 3.5 first.
Internet connection works perfectly, check redtab's post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3532988&postcount=142, i used JUVS_HTC_Network_Wizard_KAISER_1_0_29981_1.cab to get my mms profile be configured also, so i can send MMS too

21202 speeds up a lot, even if I set the CPU Profile into "Best Power", the device can still work smoothly!

Faster, smoother, cleaner, more skins, it seems that the icons in start menu are a little bit bigger, menu scrolling is now smooth, new windows startup screen. This should be most of the new features.

Go to settings / Colock & Alarms, click the MORE tab and uncheck the "Display the clock on the title bar in all programs". This will show the battery icon....cheers:D

Okay... Come here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=384881) and get the attachment. Remember if you install it in your main memory, the folder will be put into the \Root and you have to copy and paste a shortcut to the Start Menu yourself as it is advised to install into the memory card.

It's quite long when you set the CPU Profile to "Best Power". The speed of this ROM is fast, so you can set a lower fraquency of CPU to let the device last longer.

okay, thanks, though I prefer to have the full 624 Mhz at my disposal ;) (using an XDA Comet which is ROM compatible to the Atom Life)
