[RUU] CustomRUU for Topaz

Hi all, I've created HTC Topaz CustomRUU patched to perform a 'task 32' instead of a 'task 28' after flashing an .nbh, so it will not format your device if you just flash a radio or a splash screen.

How to: Drop the .nbh file of your choice in the same folder as CustomRUU and start flashing.

You can't it needs to be CID unlocked.

I have had two TD2 the first went back as was faulty , just died on me . The funny thing is it did flash which I was suprised about . But died soon after so not sure what was wrong there.

The second that I have now will not. We will have to wait for the unlock.

This has ben discussed on other forums and is a known prolem with the custom RUU

Trust me though it will be Virus free . Some virus scanners see it as a threat and throw it into quaranteen .

UDK and others on here are developers and Virus's are defo not their thing . I am not sure why it does it or why it sees it as a threat but rest assured it is not.

OK, it's done. Any anti-virus problems with udk's CustomRUU, feel free to use my wrapper instead.

You need .Net 2.0 to use (which most of you should have by now :p).

CustomRUU's for many devices are known to be identified as viruses by anti virus programs. There's really generally no problem.

Try and try as I might I dropped the extracted nbh file in with the wrapper version and it still came up with "invalid vendor error".

What did I do wrong?? Any ideas?

You need Hard SPL - which isn't out yet. Or the gold card method that cmonex mentioned for language changes.

You are flashing a ROM from another CID.

You have no HardSPL.
And You aren't using a goldcard..
Please take some time reading before you brick your device.

One suggestion I have noticed on 3 different PCs, on your first flash and on the tri color screen, windows will need to install driver. Which in the case of all three of my PCs (that are not low end) it took longer than the RUU application would have liked and caused it to time out each time.
The only fix, however easy is just to restart the RUU while the phone is in tri color and drivers have been installed. Like I said this only effects the first flash of a device as it is just taking it too long to install the drivers onto windows.

I am having problems flashing a new radio on my Topaz, i have HardSPL the device, i then place the nbh file in the same folder as CustomRUU and run the application, the phone goes to Tri-Colour mode, and moves to the white screen with 0% and stays there. Windows Vista detects the hardware and loads up the HTC sync driver though.
Whenever I used the similar program on my Touch Cruise i never had any issues, what could be the problem?
There is currently no virus protection installed.

for sure you can flash form the storage card!
Just put the rom with the filname "TOPAIMG.NBH" in the root folder of your sd card! (the filename is case sensitive!!!!!!)
Power off the phone; Hold VOL Down and press the power button...follow the instructions on the screen!

Correct. You can flash as well Splashscreen files, if you find them or know how to make them.

I read so many good thing of this rom so i meant to update my Diamond2 WM6.5 phone to the Holy Grail R1. I disabled my Norton Internet Security Antivirus and Firewall too and started updating. I tried a couple of times from Vista and XP as well but no joy. The update starts with the tricolour mode usb connection ok but after that nothing happens. Only the 0% progress bar is visible. Several minutes later the recovery screen comes up. Any idea what I do wrong? Thanks in advance.

is there a way you can add the windows default item (theme) into the rom? or a download/cab for theme? i really dont like the htc sense theme at all i think its a memory hog and just slow in all roms.

For clone phones check the thread for clone phones. This CustomRUU is not working on the clone phones. They have other software to update.

The only way to reboot my TD2 to Stock ROM 2.17.707.x is by flashing HSPL1.83Olinex again.

I use this CustomRUU for all flashes, Cooked ROMs, Stock ROMs, Upgrades, Radio and have no problems.

I waited for like 5 mins but it just got stuck at 0%. What should i do now?

I finally managed after reverting back to Stock SPL 1.83. The RUU does not recognised HSPL1.83 thus it won't allow any image to be written. I confirm that after reading HTC error codes file.


But now after upgrading to WWE 2.53, I can't HSPL to 2,51 nor to HSPL1.83. This is the problem face by adnanbaig18 and some others here. After some research I learned that HSPL are only successful up to stock ROM v2.16. I'm not sure how true this is. Hopefully someone can shed some light.

Its an issue with HSPL, not the RUU.exe.
You will need to open a ticket as indicated in the HSPL thread.

I've done hardspl to 2.53 on my TD2.. Its showing 1l83 OliNex in the tricolour mode.

I then use the CustomRUU.exe to flash TessIV ROM into it.

This is when the problem happens... my winXP gives me BSOD! Any ida whats the issue? I'll update with the minidump description - something bout Multiple-REL-error...

I am using HTC pure that comes with AT & T. I am getting error 262. I tried hard resetting my mobile by using clear memory. I tried removing my memory card and also sim card. Even then am landing in the same error. I am using Windows 7. My spl version is 1.83. My ROM version is 2.1. Can anybody help me????

Search the thread for HardSPL to learn what it does and how you can flash it.

Hello I can not do HSPL-1.83OliNex. Loader says that everything went successfully, but when you restart shows that the SPL remains the same - 2.51.0000, trying to make HSPL-2.51OliNex, but the download is at 0%, then an error 626. Please tell me what to do.

I have the same issue with TD2 in SA. The hard spl v5-005.exe will not open with W7 "windows cannot access specified path etc etc"

So I tried the custom RUU with RUUsigned.nbh in same folder. It does the same as described by others and sits at 0%. Eventually it gives error 262. Removal of battery and restart gets the phone up and running completely unchanged. My tricolour screen says,
TOPA100 32M
SPL-1.83.000
MicroP-Topaz (LED) v10
My ROM is 2.17.421.1 (68613) WWE. They haven't released an updated ROM in SA hence I want to unlock the phone to try cooked ones.

For people facing problems where U get stuck at 0%.. Try this.. Go to Settings-> Connections -> USB to PC & uncheck the option Enable faster data synchronization

2. i establish an activesync connection
3. i disable stanby and hibernate
4. my battery is full

but when i starting the program my activesync connection stop and trying to start again without success.
