hey...so i had the same problem and there is one threat i cant remember the name right now...
but there ate two options u can do...
1. u can just take 3 AA batteries connect them and put wires on both ends and then put the one u wired at the + to the + at the battery and the - to the -...and that just for like 20 or 30 seconds...that schould give the battery enough power to startjust rechagre it normally with a wall charger.
or 2. i think its harder...but u can hold the wired to the first pin at the top of the battery pin things in the vario and the - to the miuns one, so the one at the bottom...then start it...put a usb wall charger to the usb and when its started u can take the wired away and put the battery back in...

the wizard wouldnt start when the battery died completly, cuz the os manages the charging, so when u cant start the windows mobile, u cant charge it...

but when i tried the first option it worked out pretty well...
so just try that...
if u dont really understand what im talking about just search a threat like dead battery or dead wizard...irt was something lik that but the result of thatone was the same that i wrote...

good luck with that!
bye

The charger port had broken on my old MDA and before I sold it on eBay I needed to charge it cause the battery ran out (to prove it still booted). I used option # 2 in the-nj's post. I spliced open a usb cable on the mini-usb end and connected held the right wires to the + and -. I plugged in the usb end to my laptop. It was tedious but took about 15 minutes to charge past 10% which was good enough.

Instead of fiddling and wiring 3 batterys together just get a 9v one (the type found in smoke alrms) connect it to your battery for about 3 seconds but repeat about 5 times then connect to either a charger or USB lead.
