windows Mobile Device Center + treo Pro

im haivng a nightmare with syncing my Plam treo Pro with WIndows Mobile Device Center on Vista. I cant beleive its such a pain. Ive narrowed it down to Zone Alarm blockng it but ive tried tewaking a tone of settings in ZoneAlarm but nothing seems to do the trick. (Im no firewall expert tho)

if i shutdown zone aalrm completelty all is well and i can synv via usb cable. but with ZA running, even with the firewall bit turned off. WMDC wont hook up with my Palm Treo Pro.

anyone got any ideas!

you should allow these apps

C:\%programfiles%\Microsoft ActiveSync\WCESMgr.exe
C:\%programfiles%\Microsoft ActiveSync\wcescomm.exe
and maybe this one
C:\%programfiles%\Microsoft ActiveSync\rapimgr.exe

and probably this port
port 26675 TCP

Hi thanks for that but none of those files exist.. I am using the 'Mobile Device Center' i thiuogh that this replaced Activesync on Vista.

Any other thoughts?

I have always had problems with Zonealarm, try Comodo Firewall, it's also FREE and rated higher than Zonealarm!

1. CLICK START ON YOU PHONE
2. SETTINGS
3. CONNECTIONS
4. CLICK ON USB TO PC ICON
5 UNCLICK "ENABLE ADVANCE NETWORK FUNCTIONALITY"
